The 25 Best Maui Restaurants, According to a Local Expert | Eater

"On an island nearly devoid of decent sandwiches, Spoon & Key Market comes to the rescue. The seared ‘ahi melt on a brioche bun features locally caught fish and the Proper BLT layers crispy pork belly, wild greens, and tomato on sourdough. For breakfast, the Green Eggs & Kale panini is a delicious mess of melted provolone and whole grain mustard. On Friday and Saturday nights, husband-and-wife team Chris and Tarah Kulis host pop-up dinners. Their inventive menu changes weekly and features a continuous stream of delicacies, like pickled octopus with shishito peppers or seared scallops with parsnip and breadfruit; if you’re feeling extra hedonistic, you can add caviar or dry-aged rib-eye to the feast. Vibe check: The outdoor tables have a view, but noise from the road makes the indoor seating a better choice." - Shannon Wianecki

The spouse brought me here for a year’s end dinner. I had no idea they even existed. ATMOSPHERE: Located on the second floor of the Wailea Village mall. The vibe is lively, in an airy backyard garden-like setting, with fun and energetic music playing overhead and people talking even louder. Outdoor seating is available. RESERVATIONS: Recommended via OpenTable. PARKING: Plenty of free stalls. DINNER MENU: Italian/American/Asian/Hawaiian fusion. Prix fixe menu available. BEVERAGE: Summer Water Vodka-based. Delicate hibiscus notes, not too sweet, smooth overall. Lemongrass Vodka-based and my favorite. Fizzy, tart and slightly sweet. FOOD: Snapper Crudo Super fresh and buttery-smooth slices finished in a light, herby green sauce. The spouse loved it. Grilled Tako The octopus had excellent char and natural flavors but there was only one tiny leg which was a bummer. The majority of the dish seemed to be the crispy potatoes. Soft pass. Gnocchi We’ve never had gnocchi that were so soft and fluffy! The sauce was a tad citrusy and buttery with pleasing savoriness from the pancetta bits and pops of sweetness from the crunchy corn kernels. Excellent. Duck Breast If you like duck, you’ll love this. Served slightly chilled, the duck was tender and pure in flavor without the use of any overpowering sauces. Highly recommended. Jardiniere Risotto AKA veggie risotto. Perfectly cooked with savory and herby notes. Very good. Local Catch Onaga was the tender and flaky fish of the night, though it was a bit small. Really pleasing blend of citrus, savory & vegetable flavors though. S&K Steak The dry-aged ribeye had the texture of a New York strip, a plus for me as I prefer drier, more firm steak. Excellent natural flavors. Don’t miss out on the buttery mushrooms at the bottom! DESSERT: Chocolate Cake & Gelato Insanely moist & light cake with little crunchy chocolate balls, creamy and buttery-flavored gelato, and a coconut meringue. Highly recommended. SERVICE: Everyone was outstanding and attentive. OVERALL: A new fave in South Maui.

I can confidently say Spoon & Key Market has officially made it into my Top 3 favorite restaurants in Maui, and I can’t believe I didn’t know about it until now! I went this past Friday night with some friends, and from the moment we walked in, I was hooked. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfectly lit, no noise, no rush, just a beautiful setting to truly enjoy food and conversation. Every single dish we tried felt like it was straight out of a Food Channel feature. I’m usually not a fan of chicken, yet here I found myself wanting plate after plate, we actually re-ordered it right after finishing the first serving because it was that impressive. The octopus was another standout favorite, and honestly, saying I didn’t like something would be a total lie because everything was flawless. The cocktails were just as memorable, fresh, balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. You can truly taste the cucumber, herbs, and even the fresh lavender they use (yes, actual sprigs of lavender!). And let’s not forget dessert, absolutely divine. What blew me away was realizing they’ve been open for two years, two years I’ve been missing out on this gem! The moment I tasted the first dish, I was already texting my husband saying, “how do we not know this place?” I can’t wait to go back with him so he can experience it too. Five stars don’t even come close, if I could leave 100, I would. Whether you’re local to Maui or visiting, do yourself the best favor and come eat at Spoon & Key Market. We went for dinner, but I hear they also serve breakfast, and lunch, and I can’t wait to try them all.

We live on Maui and we are very happy to discover this wonderful restaurant. Each dish we tried was a visual and culinary delight. The Heirloom Tomato appetizer is a “must order”. I love the pasta dish and my wife loved her fresh catch. This hidden gem in Wailea is a great choice for a comfortable, quality dining experience. We will be regulars at this spot.

Google
I love this cafe so much!! I’m a local and this is my favorite spot for coffee & lunch on the island. The staff is so friendly and the vibe is always high. I love that they have charcuterie, speciality cheeses, and artisanal items (like local honey, jams, spices, crackers, etc). It’s like being in a Mediterranean bistro but in the middle of beautiful Wailea. Also they have fresh baked pastries and bread (unlike most of the neighbor coffee shops that use baked goods from Costco). I highly recommend this spot!! 😊

Google
WOW! This is was the best meal we had in maui. Wanted to try this place out because of the I saw a few good reviews for dinner and it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend ditching your your reservation at any of the 5 star hotels and give this place a try. We ordered the ceviche, heirloom tomato, tagliatelle pasta, wagu burger, tenderloin steak. Everything was excellent but the wagyu burger and the ceviche with ahi were exceptional. Tenderloin presentation and flavors were also incredible. They also have a tasting menu which we did not do but looks great.

Google
We enjoyed everything about our dinner. The tasting menu was a great mix of menu highlights and the wine pairing was well selected. The plating was also beautiful. Loved it. Will be back for more.

Google
Top 10 meal of all time. It was our honeymoon and last day in Maui. We drove from Napili in what turned out to be 2 hours of traffic and it was SO worth it. We celebrated it in true fashion - the best food coma ever. We thought about and actually booked the fancy dinner at the Grand Wailea and cancelled because the menu looked too fancy for us and we can’t imagine it would be any better than what we had. The staff was lovely. The server was attentive and took her time well in coursing our food. Owner came out to say hi for our honeymoon and left a small gift. Thank YOU Spoon and Key team and we will be coming back to Hawaii just for this.

Google
Wow! So glad we found this hidden gem for a weekend brunch/ lunch. Staff was super friendly, and the food was incredible. Fish tacos, tuna melt and the best blueberry muffin we have ever had. Make sure to come and save on all the overpriced / underwhelming hotel restaurants and a must try when in Maui. 🤘

Yelp
A simple spot to grab some lunch here. I ordered a mahi sandwich, which was just ok. They also have a few beer choices here at the self serve fridge. Food is healthy and a bit bland, but overall a decent place to get some food.

Yelp
The acai bowl tasted pretty good but I struggle to see this as a true acai bowl. The acai isn't like normal acai but seems to be an acai sorbet, and it isn't built like a normal acai bowl with acai on bottom and the fruit on top. I also thought the portion size was very small and it wasn't very filling, especially for the price. I feel like it should have banana in it and that would help. It had pineapple instead, which I didn't care for. I paid an extra dollar for peanut butter and they added only a very small amount too. I have had better acai bowls on Maui for sure. The mocha was also just mediocre. Service was a little slow and outside seating was nice other than loud leaf blowing happening the whole time just 20 feet away.

Yelp
If you're looking for a break from rice and ono grindz in the area, this is a refreshing spot within walking distance from most of the Wailea hotels. Inside is nicely decorated, not super Hawaiian feeling inside, but seems like it fits the vibes of the more upscale area. There's ample seating inside and out on the patio, and the staff is nice. What we got: - banh mi - 5/5. Was a bit thrown off by the bread, since traditional ones are on a French baguette, but the soft bread with extra crispy crust was really quite superb. Be warned since the sliced jalepeños were HOT. Pork belly had brilliant deep flavor. The fresh pickled veggies were a warm welcome after not seeing a vegetable for days. - surfalotta (4/5) - a really killer Italian sandwich. Reminded me of sandwiches in NOLA because of the olive tapenade. Also really good, but the banh mi edged it out. This is a nice break from traditional Hawaiian eats - a must try.

Yelp
We booked a reservation for 8 people and were the first people there which was great ambiance. While my family enjoyed the a la carte menu I enjoyed the pre fixe menu which provided a lot to you! My brothers enjoyed the caviar and enjoyed it. It was very easily shareable. Husband enjoyed the white lotus and it was okay. Sister in law had the Mon Cheri and two thumbs up! I enjoyed the smoke libation among my brothers and then a glass of Chardonnay. For meals, on the pre fixe menu they had wagyu and a catch of the day. The catch of the day was TWO HANDS UP DELICIOUS. the herb oil with it YUMMY. The romesco as well was really good flavors. The wagyu had good flavors but the potatoes were eh. My brother and husband had the ribeye. It was not great. Could have been prepared better. It was overcooked for both of them. It was very dry. They did not enjoy at all. For dessert I had little donuts and banana tart which they put on one plate and that was really good! Very PB&J.

Yelp
This was our favorite meal on Maui!!! We went for dinner, and we're devastated we didn't have time to go back and try breakfast and lunch. It's a low key spot with a great view, and kids are welcome. The service was WONDERFUL. We ordered what felt like half the menu between our party, and by far the standout was the Truffle Gnocchi. We all agreed we could have eaten endless orders of that! Another favorite was the ribeye (we're not totally sure if it was dry aged or wagyu) on a bed of parsnip puree. The Brussels sprouts were also so flavorful, with big chunks of guanciale. Drinks were great, dessert was delightful, everything is sourced locally and as such, seasonal. Truly all around a fantastic meal.

Yelp
We came here recently for our friend's birthday for the first time and had a great experience! It's located upstairs in a large shopping plaza just above the Shops at Wailea with plenty of parking. We reserved our table and even were able to push it back as we hit some traffic. We brought a cake and they stored it for us and did not charge any silly cake cutting fees. The drinks were great and the food had a fun selection of items! They also have a prix fixe menu, but we wanted to try various things, so we opted out. Will definitely be back to try more dishes in the future! Mahalo for all the lovely hospitality!

Yelp
We got THE best fresh baked bread! It was amazing and under $10 for the loaf! The menu also looked delicious and the also sell meats and some grocery items. Definitely a hidden spot for reasonably priced foot in Wailea.

Yelp
I remember this place from when they had first opened and wrote one of the first reviews. Sadly, the quality is just not the same on this visit. My fish tacos were *chewy and tough* to the point that I had to spit out one of them. If they were not so busy, I might have complained (or if anyone had checked in on my food). I guess the fish they use is marlin. It was cut in thin/long strips (so not a lot of fish) but even then it was not cooked right and obviously hard to eat. The tacos themselves were toasted but also seemed undercooked. On the next try the fish tacos were dry thought not as tough (same fish). Under-sauced and minimal toppings. My husband ordered the Ahi Melt which he said was so-so. The coffee they use is illy, a dark Italian roast which tasted bitter and foamy, without the latte art. I put down my first experience to their being busy, but three times in a row makes it clear they are not as amazing as when they first opened! The staff are still friendly, service is relatively quick. And the view is great--that's my three stars.

Yelp
Beautiful location, beautiful breezy patio with a canopy of trees overlooking the ocean. Great menu of super fresh sandwiches, hot and cold breakfast lunch and dinner very casual. Very high quality. The coffee was very good. Very creamy and delicious. I recommend the cinnamon mocha. Just the right amount of flavor and not too sweet. Be careful-big delicious portions! Big enough to share. A delightful place to have a very casual meal and relax !

Yelp
Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and can't wait to come back again! Everything we tried was tasty and healthy. Service was friendly and helpful. Order first and they will bring your food and drinks to you. There is a station where you get your own utensils and water. The view was amazing from indoors and some outdoors! We sat outside and was lucky to have ocean and view of Kahoolawe while we enjoyed our meal. The vibe definitely had relaxing island feel. Definitely recommend to stop in and try when in Wailea! They serve Breakfast all day. They also have a Lunch and Dinner Menu.

Yelp
Spoon and key is a little tucked away piece of heaven. The food is loving prepared and the service is great! But the view is AMAZING! Try some of their coffee it's epic.

Yelp
The prix fixe menu is 100% worth a shot. We got to sample a bunch of the chef's best dishes for one price. Started with fresh crudos, then moved on to homemade pasta and greens made with local ingredients. For the main, we had wagyu and this perfectly cooked local fish with crispy potatoes and red curry cauliflower. Everything just worked together so well! Dessert was the perfect finish. Every dish had this great mix of salty, sweet, citrusy, and crunchy elements--honestly like a party in your mouth! The staff was super into it, walking us through each wine and dish. It's in this nice plaza with a bunch of other well-known spots. At night, this place does a chef's choice thing, and the whole vibe is really great.

Yelp
Major shoutout to Robyn K on Yelp for her review and pointing us toward The Spoon and Key -- what a solid rec. Tucked into a modern shopping plaza just a short walk from Wailea Beach and minutes from the Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria, this spot totally fits the elevated, breezy Maui vibe. (Just a note we did not stay at the Four Seasons or Waldorf Astoria) Yes, it's in a shopping center, but don't let that fool you -- the space is clean, minimalist, and well-designed, and the food is super fresh and thoughtfully put together. We split the BLT, which was definitely elevated -- though I'm a sucker for the classic: white bread, iceberg, thick-cut crispy bacon, tomato, and mayo. That said, this version was delicious in its own right. We also shared a chocolate chip cookie (soft and melty -- exactly what you want), and grabbed a bag of Maui chips... which, plot twist, are made in Plano, Texas. I had an orange San Pellegrino for a little post-beach pick-me-up. After a full day in the sun, that sugar and fizz hit just right. Perfect spot for a fresh, easygoing meal that still feels curated. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I'd absolutely come back. Looking back, grabbing this to-go and heading to the beach would've been chef's kiss.

Yelp
So happy we discovered this little gem in Wailea! We came in for a late breakfast, and the server was very sweet and kind. The space is light and airy with both indoor and outside patio seating. It was pretty hot, so we dined inside. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary and the Pig & Egg Panini with ham, egg, cheddar dijon and sourdough, and I got the "So You Can Think You Can Salsa" wrap with fluffy moist eggs, tender potatoes, cheddar cheese and cumin aioli. The Bloody Mary was hearty with a delicious amount of spice and horseradish ratio. I absolutely loved my wrap, and the eggs were generous and cooked perfectly. Servings are big, and we both took the other half back to our condo to enjoy the next morning. Highly recommend this spot, and bummed we didn't discovered it sooner on our trip!

Yelp
We have been loyal to this market since its earlier iteration up the road. Today we came in, waited in line for about 10 minutes, got our number and a table outside. We watched at least 2 parties behind us get their food before us. When I went inside to ask about our order, the first woman said "it doesn't mean anything" if other parties get their food first. Thankfully another employee looked into it and determined that, indeed, our order was nowhere to be found. Eventually we did get our food with barely an apology. Our kids were hangry as hell. One was so mad they refused to eat. We waited for 45 minutes. The least you can do is bring a pastry to the table while we continue to wait.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Food was really good. I got the (so you think you can salsa) burrito. It was pretty darn good, very flavorful and good size. I also got the French toast. You get 2 small toast pieces and 2 small strawberry's, definitely very expensive. So $45 for those 2. Solid 7/10 on the French toast Solid 9/10 on the burrito

Yelp
I had no idea that Spoon & Key offered a dinner service. I was informed by a friend and also heard someone else a while back mentioned how good it was. Here's my tale..... A few years back I went for coffee and muffin in the am and it was a nightmare. Slow service, confusion etc so I blew it off and never went back until the other night as I heard about their dinners which was amazing. First, the place is spotless. Then it's a chill vibe. Also, you may score a view. Service is amongst the best on island. There is outdoor seating if you like. The food was amazing. I got seared ahi and my friend got the fish special. Anyway, if the AM at Spoon & Key has turned you off, give their dinner a try. It's like 2 different places. Without question I will go back to dinner and tell friends.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a coworker for Father's Day. The food and service were pretty good, but were priced on the high side. As a local wanting to spend money at a Maui business, I was turned off by the 3% add on by Toast. $50 for 2 breakfast sandwiches (with no sides) and a cup of coffee, including tip and 3% to Toast.
google avatar

Anton H.

Yelp
Really great sandwiches and drinks. I had the caprese and my wife had the ahi tuna. We both really enjoyed the food, drinks (iced coffee and soda), and the atmosphere, which was lively and inviting. I would say my caprese sando was the best one I've ever had.

Yelp
New favorite açaí bowl place on Maui! Granola is made in house and is gluten free and dairy free. Berries and toppings are generous and delicious. You also must try the Polynesia vanilla latte!! I'll miss you spoon and key, but I will be back! Great service, great view, great location, great vibe. 10/10 everything

Yelp
This place was so good! We had a couple hours before check in at the hotel and stopped by for a glass of wine and cheese board and it was a legit board with a good amount of food. Would absolutely recommend

Yelp
A really great little spot. The food is always fresh and if you need to grab something to make a charcuterie plate or some sodas or some other snacks, there's always interesting stuff available. The staff is friendly.

Yelp
I got a Maui Jun Kombucha and a panini while I was there, and it paired really well! It was fresh off the press and still warm and gooey (in the best way) , and it was an amazing place to start the day off with for Wailea adventures! - Miguel Morales Photography

Yelp
Where did the fish go in the fish tacos? Same price but very small amount of fish. Still yummy but I left hungry.

Taleen H.

Yelp
OKAY I'm absolutely obsessed with this place. The food is truly incredible. We stopped by for dinner and got the ceviche and heirloom tomato. Truly so fresh and tasty! The star of the show was the Wagyu Smash Burger though. I still talk about it to this day. It's probably top 3 best burgers I've ever had and I'm comparing it to a Wagyu burger I had in Japan (Burger Revolution). That tells you how incredible this burger was. Overall, 10/10 experience! The vibe, the staff and of course the food was amazing. Oh and the carrot cake was bomb too! Please open up more locations! Maybe in Los Angeles?:)

Yelp
Come here for breakfast! You might ask yourself why are they serving lunch already but then you order the mahi mahi fish tacos upon the recommendation from Maui's friendliest barista. You'll immediately get why you should order lunch at 9 am. Spoon and Key Market gets multiple shipments of fresh fish throughout the week and you can tell! The seared ahi tuna melt was also to die for, with a lightly seared tuna filet and a lava flow of provolone. We inhaled it. Don't forget to get a pastry as well. The almond fig scone was fluffy and paired perfectly with our coffee. I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

Patricia G.

Yelp
Disappointed for the You Can Count Banh Mi sandwich The crisp pork belly was a piece f bacon and not a crisp pork belly meat. Plenty of deli ham. Sandwich was not what I expected

Karim A.

Yelp
Was in Maui for two weeks and ate here more than seven times. What's not to love about this place. The food, the people, the view and the GELATO! The ingredients are top notch and they take care in making your meal. Seriously, how are salads so delicious?? The geno sandwich is a legend. We didn't try for dinner but we will on the next trip. It's such a great spot I highly recommend.

Shannon I.

Yelp
My husband and two kids and I came here every day for breakfast during a previous visit to Wailea. We couldn't wait to come back this year. The food is so flavorful and the staff are so kind and generous. When I planned out our dinners for this trip, the family agreed how nice it would be to get outside of the resort for dinner. We wanted to support a local place so we booked a reservation for dinner at Spoon and Key. The food was delicious. My husband said it was the best burger he has had in a long time and my ahi tuna ceviche was so fresh and plentiful. Go support this local joint! For kindness, consistently good food, and entertainment for the children! (There are hidden fairy doors that our kids had a blast searching for!)

Yelp
So so good! And for all my Gluten free goddesses (and dudes too)- this is such a great spot if you want a super fresh and clean lunch! GF bread and wraps so most of the items can be made Gluten free. Also enjoyed an Ocean Organic Espresso Martini- YUM!

Yelp
I think we came on a wayyyy off day. - order, paid, then were told they were out of bacon for the BLT. - out of kale for the kale salad - the temp inside read 80 degrees on the thermostat. It was cooler outside. - the kitchen staff sounded like the movie "Waiting" . - the avocado toast bread was sorely over toasted. Could not even cut it. This is what I chose instead of the BLT. Should have just jumped ship. - waited what seemed like a loooooonnggg time for food when no one else was waiting? Like long long. + water + Hawaiian chili vinaigrette + they didn't charge me the dollar difference when I had to pick an alternate lunch choice

Yelp
Was on Maui for the weekend, so met up with a friend for breakfast. She recommended Spoon and Key as a new favorite brunch spot so we met up the first morning we were there. Spoon and Key has breakfast and lunch offerings - both available in the morning. There are also some deli items, packaged items and gelato/ice cream available. I had stalked the Yelp page as well as took a look at their online menu and initially wanted avocado toast. I didn't see it on the breakfast menu (bummer) so opted for the hash and glad I did, it was really delicious! I saw others with the avocado toast so assumed I may have missed it. Day 2 in Maui and we decided to return because it was so good. I spotted the avocado toast on the lunch menu - there it is! I got that on day 2 and it was ok, but I preferred the hash I had the day before. My boyfriend got this steak sandwich, which was amazing and so tasty! I'd definitely come back and recommend this place to others as well. It was located in a small shopping complex and there was a small lot in front of the market that was no where near full. If it is, you could always park in a different part of the mall.

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting Maui at the grand Wailea. We decided to walk to breakfast and found the spoon and key. My husband ordered the wrap which was very good and I ordered the hash and skillet (per the staffs recommendation), which was absolutely amazing... the fresh, roasted veggies, poached, egg, avocado, and sprouts on top were exactly what I needed! I also ordered a delicious decaf latte with whole milk, which was the perfect combo with my breakfast. We sat and took our time eating on the back porch, which even had a view of the water in the distance. The spot is a little bit tricky to find and isn't placed properly on the yelp site so you may have to look for it but it is worth it. I would highly recommend this delicious spot!

Yelp
I wasn't really sure what to expect when we decided to stroll in for breakfast this weekend. First, the decor is cute. Love it. There's a nice ocean view from the tables along the window inside. I loved the local plants hanging inside. They have a pretty big menu and had morning cocktail options as well. I ordered the açaí bowl. It was loaded with goodies like chia, hemp seeds, granola, fruit and honey. I like that they layered everything and didn't just pile stuff on top. The açaí itself was almost like a creamy sorbet and had a really nice texture and flavor. 10/10. My boyfriend got the Haole Hoagie and said it was tasty. We each got a vanilla latte. Not the best I've ever had but tasty. When we were walking out we noticed a large fresh caught fish and were told they are serving dinner a few nights a week. We'll have to come back to check out dinner. But for breakfast. it was a pleasant new find and money well spent.

Wonderful atmosphere. Great food choices. Lovely eclectic, green vibe. Good vegan wraps, sandwiches, and a spot with wonderful views of the Walleia area. A spot for breakfast and lunch. A nice meeting spot. We had local coffee and a vege wrap. Yum. Will go back for the avocado toast. Friendly vibe.

Yelp
Went there for breakfast & dinner and both were amazing. The freshness and quality of the ingredients really stood out. We will back :)

Yelp
I love avocado toast and this is some of the best I've ever had! Think crusty bread, the creamiest avocados and perfectly poached egg. We are here a few times and the rest of the menu looked great, but I could not stray from my beloved. Staff is super nice and they have interesting local specialties plus beer and wine to takeaway.

Yelp
Such a cute breakfast, lunch, and market located in Wailea. The nicest and kindest individuals work here too. My husband and I came here looking for some breakfast options and were happily surprised that there is so much more. The menu is amazing. Lots of breakfast and lunch options. Plus, it's a specialty store with meats, cheese, drinks, and more. My husband ordered breakfast/lunch only. I ordered the "so you think you can salsa" with added avocado and the "surfalotta." We both ordered lattes as well. Let me start with the Surfalotta. OMG! Your tastebuds will be so happy! My husband ordered this and I stole multiple bites. The provolone cheese with the olive tapenade and all the meats in a pressed sandwich, how can you go wrong? You can't! You clearly can't! So you think you can salsa with added avocado hit the spot for my breakfast wants. The wrap is pressed just like the Surfalotta. That warm press just elevated everything. Genius! We ordered lattes as well. The only part of the meal that was okay. Everything else was literally out of this world! Cutest store in walking distance to so many local hotels. Can't wait to come back and stuff my face. Soooo good.

Yelp
Spoon & Key is the new rendition of The Market formerly located below Monkeypod. They have all your favorite breakfast and lunch menu items from before in addition to extra offerings that are in the process of getting rolled out. The new space is well designed and has a beautiful setup indoor and outdoors. They've always had a knack for no fuss, high quality food. Everything is well curated. I've never had a bad bite there. Love the Market Salad, Greens eggs and kale, and Rob Wrap in particularly! Erica and the whole team is hardworking and amazing at providing awesome service. Everything is made fresh to order, so don't expect to be in and out in 3 minutes. I recommend calling your order in advance if you are in a rush.

Yelp
What an absolute gem of an establishment!! Do not hesitate to dine here, you will not be appointed! From the location, to the food & service, everything was outstanding. The flavors that are carefully & purposefully crafted to enhance & compliment each other are a cut above anywhere else, even with the drinks! Once you try this place, you will always return for the next beautifully created menu item(s). And the service was also exceptional! Don't miss out....

Yelp
We stopped by for breakfast to check out this hot place for our anniversary dinner. Fish tacos were so good we realized if that was just the fish tacos, how awesome the dinner items will be oh boy we were right! Selected prefix option and added a wagu burger and ceviche for the two of us. I felt I dined in pre-Michelin star restaurant. Also for an amount of food in prefix options for $125 it felt like I am the one robbing the restaurant, it was a lot. My husband and I left this place in food coma

Yelp
Our experience at Spoon and Key Market was nothing short of unforgettable. We were celebrating a special occasion, and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening magical for our family, especially our daughter. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm and attentive. The team surprised us by setting the playlist to play a special birthday song just as dessert arrived--such a thoughtful touch that made our celebration feel so personal. And the food! Truly some of the best we've ever had. Every dish was beautifully prepared, fresh, and absolutely delicious. You can feel the care that goes into everything they do, from the ingredients to the service. If you're in Maui, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. You'll leave with a full heart and an even fuller stomach!

Yelp
We LOVE Spoon & Key Market. Their staff is always welcoming and friendly. The place is cute, cozy & clean. We have had dinner there and also just grabbed sandwiches for lunch. Their testing menu is reasonably priced for the food that you get. I was extremely surprised by the tomatoes dish, I'll forever remember that course and it has made me look at tomatoes differently. The tuna raviolis surprised us as well, super flavorful. Some of the crudos were great, others not so impressive (the tuna one). I recommend the tasting menu to anyone that is on the fenced about it. Now their sandwiches, quality / price / portion wise, it is unbeatable in the area. I really wish we could order their sandwiches all day long and not only during lunch. A missed opportunity for both us and the owners. We love to grab their sandwiches and sit at the beach.

Yelp
Atmosphere and service was excellent. Nicely paced meal, beautiful plates of food. Unfortunately the food itself was lacking, especially for the price. I got the prixe fix meal and it was a good amount of food and a great variety for the price, but everything was just "meh". Everything needed a slight dash of salt and also each dish felt like it was missing something... I'm not a chef, so hard to say what that something is, but I am a foodie and I've been to some amazing restaurants and this food just wasn't the best. Sad tho, because otherwise it was a great time.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant/market with a gorgeous lanai outdoor seating. They generally serve lunch but are slowly adding evening sunset service. I went to the casual Wednesday night service (Friday/Saturday is a prefix menu and more upscale) and was greeted warmly and given a beautiful table facing the ocean. I came for the burger as my friend and I were discussing "best burger on Maui" and she voted here so I was game! Now I saw some IG menu posts that showed a smash burger but I was confused as my friend did not mention that- only that it was Wagu beef- a specialty beef that is delicious! Wednesday night menu changes every week and is made up that same day so it's really hard to know what they are serving! So I called ahead in the afternoon and asked if it was a "smash burger" because truth be told- I'm not a fan... my fav is a medium rare thick chunky hand formed burger whereas smash burgers are well... smashed! They are thin and often crispy and never medium rare... I was told that "tonight it doesn't say smashed" by the lady on the phone and I was confused by that wording and asked "do they sometimes do it smashed and sometimes not?" The gal on the phone was not really sure but confirmed again that the menu "didn't say smashed tonight". So I changed my plans for the evening and ran over there for a solo dinner with a big thick juicy medium rare burger on my mind! Unfortunately, when I arrived, it was clearly a Smashburger with the word clearly in the description on the menu... ??!... . I asked if it could be done, not smashed, and that was not possible . I asked if it could be done medium rare, and that also was not possible... double darn! So I ordered the $30 Smashburger, (again I was a little disappointed because the sample menu I saw on Instagram showed it as $25 which was already a bit more than I wanted to spend...) I gotta say it was an outrageously well executed Smashburger! Just perfect cooking and presentation with a chef flare like you would expect from a place like this! Even the bun had a seared in guitar image on it (!!?!! :) :) ) and it was even seasoned and somehow toasted on the top. A very nice and tasty presentation! If you are a Smashburger fan, you will go nuts about this burger! Unfortunately I am not a Smashburger fan. So I enjoyed my meal for what it was, but I was very disappointed that I was given poor advice on the phone when I had called earlier in the day, and that the price had gone up. So I walked out after tax and tip having paid $40 for a burger that was not up to my expectations.

Yelp
This place is perfect. Great sandwiches and you can get baguettes and cheese to go. It also is reasonable price wise and not $50 for a sandwich. Been twice for lunch already.
