The Best Restaurants In Sonoma - Sonoma - The Infatuation

"This laid-back Lebanese spot will have you planning your next visit before you finish your meal, and a lot of that has to do with flavor-packed dishes, a dog-friendly patio, and an unhurried vibe. The bright purple whipped feta and beet dip and the silky, smoky baba ganoush, in particular, are stars. Follow them up with either the lamb kofta grain bowl, which hits every note–spiced lamb, savory saffron rice, sweet apricots, and creamy hummus–or the turmeric chicken wrap, loaded with juicy shawarma-spiced chicken, pickles, and garlicky toum. Finishing the meal with the unbelievably fudgy (and vegan and gluten-free) tahini brownie is the move." - allison green, gabi moskowitz

The Best Things Infatuation SF Writers Ate In May 2025 - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The promise of Turkish pastries and desserts brought us to this SoMa spot—and yes, they were fantastic—but it was the chicken kebab that captured our attention while we were there. The chunks of chicken are juicy enough to irrigate a Sonoma vineyard, and the yogurt mellows out the heat. Get the side of bulgur if you want even more spice." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, julia chen 1, patrick wong, patrick wong, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong

The Best Restaurants in Sonoma County | Eater SF

"An homage to chef-owner Cristina Topham’s Lebanese roots, this restaurant leans into California’s fresh and local ethos. In keeping with the wintry season, Topham’s tabbouleh swaps quinoa and apple for the usual bulgur and tomatoes. Grain bowls are fragrant with saffron rice and apricots, and “dirty fries” are dusted with za’atar and jacked up with pickled onions and yogurt-tahini sauce. Extra points for a shaded, dog and kid-friendly patio and a tight wine list focused on Lebanon, Tunisia, and other less-common regions." - Christina Mueller

Google
5 stars all around! Even though the day was chilly, we had our dog with us and we were graciously accommodated on the super cute patio with heaters. The service was so friendly and efficient and the food was just perfect. So delicious and fresh with so much flavor!! Highly recommend.

Google
Spread Kitchen in Sonoma completely blew me away. This place feels like a hidden gem that deserves way more attention. The spreads were absolutely top notch, packed with flavor and freshness. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned just right. The wrap I had was not only delicious but also incredibly filling, with every bite better than the last. It is rare to find a spot that nails every element of the meal, but Spread Kitchen did exactly that. I am already planning to make the drive back up just to eat here again.

Google
Incredible food and awesome service. Free parking 10 steps away. Lovely warm welcome, every item on the menu is exciting. Probably our favourite meal in our 2-week Cali road trip. Don’t miss the orange blossom lemonade or the roasted Brussels sprouts!

Damien T.

Google
My server was a bundle of joy, the dips were amazing, the grain bowl had a spectrum of flavors, the beef is JUICY! That orange blossom lemonade was yummy, as well. Any time I'm in Sonoma, I'll come back here. Oh oh oh, I almost forgot the dirty fries are stupid good!

Haley D.

Google
This is the best food I’ve had in Sonoma county point blank period. The flavors are rich and interesting, the bites are unlike anything you can get nearby. Additionally, the service was great and even the drinks were phenomenal. Would totally reccomend trying their plethora of dips and spreads.

Google
A Must-Stop in Sonoma. Absolutely Exceptional. I live in Greece and am lucky to be surrounded by some of the freshest, most flavorful food in the world, so when I say SPREAD Kitchen in Sonoma blew me away, I truly mean it. I had lunch here recently, and it was hands down one of the best meals l've had in California. We ordered a selection of dips, the lamb, French fries, and a fresh salad, along with a natural ginger ale soda. Every bite was incredible, vibrant, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The quality of ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation was obvious. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal, and we loved sitting outside in their charming outdoor space. It's such a sweet setting and made the whole experience even more special. As someone who scouts restaurants professionally, mainly in Greece, for my travel clients, I'm adding SPREAD Kitchen to my list of must-visits for anyone coming to Sonoma. This place is a gem. Highly recommended!

Google
We were impressed by how delicious everything tasted! The portions are pretty big and we loved their Vegan Dirty Fries, Tumeric Chicken and Pickled Veggie Plate.

Simmy K.

Google
Delicious food! The falafel was crispy and flavorful, the hummus creamy and fresh, and the baklava the perfect sweet ending. Friendly service and cozy atmosphere — can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
Tried almost everything on the menu and everything was good! All the grilled meats were tasty and loved trying the different types of hummus! It's a cute casual cozy place-- any occasion. Outdoor seating available if you bring a pup. * Note: Small service charge for card so cash is best!

Yelp
My first time there today not my last. We shared a plate of three dips with pickled vegetables and pita bread and they were all very tasty. Then we shared a plate of roasted brussel sprouts they were also really good Service was good even though there was just one gal for the whole place but they're only like five or six tables in there. Only two minor downsides - one is parking is a bit problematic on the side streets. And second when the place gets full it's really loud in tables are very close together. That can be difficult when trying to have a conversation. But I think the food is worth it highly recommended.

Yelp
We had Spread Kitchen delivered to us during one of the rainy days at the end of October. The food arrived intact, well-plated, and so very tasty! E enjoyed everything we ordered, and had leftovers we were able to enjoy again the next day. Definitely hope to visit in person the next time we're in the Sonoma area!

Yelp
A group of us had a late lunch at Spread Kitchen to celebrate a friend's birthday after a morning of wine tasting. For most of us it was our first time visiting, and the servers were friendly and patient, answering questions and offering suggestions. We had a reservation and were seated in the back garden patio, which was such a pleasant spot on a sunny day. The trees provided natural shade and there were cute decorative items hanging along the walls and branches (for sale, I think). We ordered a couple of dip plates and apps to share across the tables. My husband and I split a grain bowl with chicken plus a side of lamb kofta, and the portions ended up being just right for the two of us. And of course we had to finish with dessert - their homemade baklava was the perfect sweet ending. Would happily return.

Yelp
I was in the area for a wine tasting, and decided to stop here for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised with what I found. The staff was friendly, and the food was absolutely amazing. Every single dish was tasty and cooked well. The dips were a highlight!

Yelp
Spread is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant in Sonoma. I stopped by on a weeknight evening, and even though it's not a big place, it has a warm, welcoming vibe -- and the service was very fast. I ordered the grain bowl with chicken, and the portion was huge. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the hummus was tasty. One of the highlights for me: plenty of gluten-free options, including pita bread and even dessert! A big plus for anyone with dietary restrictions. There's a small parking lot right next to the restaurant, which makes things convenient.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands-down the best restaurant I've been to in years. If this place was in San Francisco, it would have lines out the door and around the block. Head chef and founder Cristina Topham has put together a beautiful menu with brilliant flavor combinations. The food is fresh and delicious, and despite being a lover of Mediterranean food, I've never had anything quite like this.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Last day in town and our brothers-in-law treated us to lunch at this establishment. We selected an outside table and it was nicely shaded. We selected wraps (three different options) and I added the Vegan Dirty Fries. The service was perfect and our selections arrived quickly. My wife ordered the Kolsch to try and I had an iced tea variation with peaches. All in $125
google avatar

Vicki T.

Yelp
Very refreshing dips with the most amazing falafel! I'm so glad Spread Kitchen offers smaller sized dips with all the different flavor profiles. They go through each spread by detail. All of them were super refreshing. I would highly recommend to order a side dish of the falafel. I already can't wait to be back for another visit and try more items from the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for lunch on the way to a winery in Sonoma and was blown away! Everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious at this small Lebanese restaurant and I wish it was a closer drive to me because I'd eat here so often if it was. My group of 4 loved the combo dips platter and thought it was a great way to try all the appetizing dips on fresh pita without getting too full before the main dishes. I highly recommend this spot, especially the combo dips and the chicken plate!
google avatar

Ruhi S.

Yelp
What a gem - I ended up visiting this place twice on my trip to Sonoma. The backyard patio is cute and shaded enough for a hot day. There is also limited seating inside the restaurant. The food itself came quick after we ordered at the counter. Fresh, flavorful, and colorful. Every bite was a delight - the vegetarian falafel bowl was a great portion, almost enough for 2 people. The 3 dip mezze was also a great choice. My favorite was the muhammara and the feta beet dip my last. Every vegetable in the bowl felt as if it was sourced from a Farmers Market - from light green snappy bell peppers to sweet tomatoes that just popped in your mouth. I recommend this as a staple on everyones list.

Yelp
Always my favorite restaurant in Sonoma! As always, the food is fresh and delicious and the portions are huge! Service is always quick and friendly. I love that this is such a quality meal with a casual ambiance. Whenever I have friends and family and town this is one place they have me take them to over and over!
google avatar

Melany M.

Yelp
Very very good takeaway spot that I found! Thankful that they are a very health-conscious restaurant establishment that offers a decently priced take away meal as well as a good portion for what you're paying. My only complaint was that some of my chicken was a little bit questionable because it was a bit pink and soft on the inside... I threw those bits away. The rest seemed fine. The pickled vegetables were very good and I am glad that they could put the sauce on the side. They also had an exquisite brownie! Very tasty, dense and chocolatey which I was not expecting because it was vegan. I'll be back!

Yelp
Truly special and Yelp-able, we discovered this unassuming casual cafe, Spread Kitchen, while nibbling on their pita chips at a local winery. The chips were so good, we decided to switch up our dinner plans and see what else Spread Kitchen was cooking up. We felt it was a sign since Spread is a women owned business, and we had just spent an afternoon at two wineries with female winemakers (Imagery and Abbots Passage.) The setting is unassuming, a small cost-effective cafe near to the Sonoma Mission Inn, with a cozy dining area, and larger outdoor garden with tables. It's casual, clean, colorful and comfortable. Even though it's a cafe, the staff came to the table to take our order. They were helpful and polite. We ordered a two dip plate with smoky, smooth baba ganoush and hummus, pickled vegetables, olives and fresh cut pita and a lamb kofta bowl with moist meat, yellow rice, fresh tabouli and more flash pickled veg. Everything was fresh, bright, and delicious. Of coarse we couldn't leave without a bag of their highly addictive pita chips! Definitely a place that hits above its weight. A treat.

Yelp
Excellent Food. Loved their tabouli, hummus, green sauce and cauliflower bowl. The place is cozy and the service is excellent

Yelp
Best falafel wrap - get the local sauce. Great dips! Tasty soups. Cute outdoor patio - heat lamps and blankets. Friendly service

Eileen P.

Yelp
Outstanding flavorful food on a cute backyard patio. The turmeric chicken wrap, fries and falafel were stand outs. Friendy and helpful staff made my first visit there so fun and easy. I cannot wait to return and try more items!
google avatar

Yelp
Spread Kitchen serves food that nourishes the soul! So flavorful, so fresh, so vibrant. My husband and I shared the muhammara dip and a lamb kofta grain bowl, which was enough to share between two people for lunch without having to take leftovers. I loved the picked veggies, they were perfect on their own or dunked in the dip. There was plenty or marinated olives and pita bread to last through the entire dip cup. While the grain bowl was filled with flavor with delicious accompaniments of saffron rice, hummus and tabbouleh. I can't wait to come back to try more dip flavors!
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! The best and most authentic Lebanese food I've ever had! My wife and I finally made it to this place last night. The two lavash wraps we had (1 with lamb, 1 turmeric chicken) were fantastic! The inside seating is a little small but did not bother us. The service was fast and super friendly! We cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Casual restaurant with a welcoming interior where you take menus and seat yourself. We ordered to go and heads up that there's a 3% credit card charge and cash is preferred. Latte was mid, would pass on this. Hot cocoa was good, I could taste the orange blossom and the chocolate was rich. Grain bowl with turmeric chicken - moist chicken, flavorful rice, refreshing tabbouleh, and creamy hummus with pita bread. Lamb wrap was delicious with a good amount of lamb along with cabbage and sauce. Both dishes also came with tasty pickled veggies. The staff was friendly and asked if we wanted utensils but only gave forks & knives and I was expecting a spoon for the grain bowl. Regardless, it was a very hearty meal and I highly recommend trying this place!
google avatar

Sean J.

Yelp
Another trip to Spread Kitchen, this time outside in the evening air. As always, the service was excellent, water was always filled and checking to make sure our food was to our liking. We all got wraps and split an order of Dirty Fries and two dips which were devoured. To finish off, we got a piece of baklava to give a slight sweet finish to the meal. I'll never grow tired of coming here.
google avatar

Reena S.

Yelp
Ordered this for pick up while we stayed in Sonoma. Got the dips, chicken and steak. The family loved the meat. The dips were okay and it felt like there was something left to be desired, but the pita chips were delicious! I felt like I should have grabbed a few packs! Overall, I'm glad we tried it!
google avatar

S H.

Yelp
We dined here on a weekend night, yet were seated immediately. The back patio was a great choice, offering a really nice ambiance. Their food is absolutely delicious! We especially enjoyed the wrap-beef and fries, both of which were excellent. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. I'm definitely looking forward to returning and exploring more of their menu.
google avatar

Sheana D.

Yelp
We love the food and could eat here every day! Fresh, delicious, different than so many places in town that all have similar food. We love the Spreads, the pickles, the wraps, the salads and we love the Zatar Fries! I call in our order and it is either ready or they have delivered. We have dined inside and out and both are marvelous. The staff is amazing, which to us shows great management. Spread is our go to spot in Sonoma!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! Fresh ingredients!! Wonderful menu for vegetarians and meat lovers. Great service!! We will return!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The best Lebanese inspired food we've had..and we're big time foodies..about 30 Michelin Stars in the 15 high end restaurants we've been blessed to visit in the USA and EU. Absolutely the best falafel you will ever have. Large dinner for two, bottle of wine..less than $100 with tip.

Yelp
THE BIG: Cute lil house shop that serves up delicious Mediterranean dishes. Indoor and outdoor seating available and a small parking lot for parking. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here on a Friday afternoon and it was HOT in Sonoma. Fortunately the lot had a few spots that were in shade and we were able to snag them. Entering the restaurant, it seems like a converted house which gave it a nice charm. Ordering was a breeze as it didn't have an exhaustive list of dishes. We ordered the two dips that had baba ganoush and hummus. Along with the chicken dish that was moist and had nice pickled veggies. Service was quick and friendly. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done here was around $40 for a two dip platter and a chicken grain bowl. Very affordable for the Sonoma area and nice place to grab lunch as you go along your wine tastings.

Jo F.

Yelp
Genuinely kind service. I ordered the five dip spread, and it came with an amazing punch of flavor! They paired great with soy- and gluten-free pita, which came warm. So glad I tried this place! Parking is tricky as you cannot on the street in front. However, there is a little side street steps from the restaurant and on the same side that you turn into for parking. If you are going at night, it's not well lit, but felt safe.
google avatar

Michelle ..

Yelp
Tried Spread Kitchen in Sonoma and it did not disappoint! We kicked things off with the trio dip plate, and each dip had its own standout flavor--creamy, tangy, and earthy. Super fresh and flavorful, and the warm pita was the perfect companion. The apricot rice was a surprising favorite. Slightly sweet with a fragrant, almost floral quality--definitely a unique twist that works. Also ordered the dirty fries, which were crispy, well-seasoned, and loaded with toppings. Rich, indulgent, and honestly hard to stop eating. The restaurant has a cute little outdoor patio that's also dog-friendly, which we loved. Great spot for a casual meal with relaxed Sonoma vibes. Our waitress was very nice, though service was a little slow. In her defense, every table was full and she was clearly managing a lot on her own--so props for staying friendly under pressure. All in all, Spread Kitchen brings creative flavors, a cozy setting, and a thoughtful menu. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area

Yelp
Wow! The food was amazing. The creativity in how food was put together was amazing. Eg. I'm not a big fan of tabbouleh. I've had it too many times and it is either to sour or too much parsley. So when it can on the side of my bowl. Meh.... Well I was wrong I took one bite and there were small apple chunks sweetening it. So good. For dessert we had a vegan rice pudding. My wife was ecstatic to have rice pudding that was dairy free. Amazing that they could even do that. But then they put roasted almonds and small wedges of blood orange on it. Wow. It was so good and typically rice pudding is just so so. There were lots of gluten free options. The roasted Brussels sprouts were so good. We had lamb which was great!
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Rich, great flavors!! Punching above its weight! The staff was friendly. The large backyard was spacious and had a ton of character. Would recommend the Whipped Feta and Beet Dip and the lamb kofta local style.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in the area and looking for a late lunch spot. My wife found Spread Kitchen on the map and we were glad we found it. The staff was warm and welcoming. We sat inside since it was a bit chilly, but the patio looked inviting. We had baba ganoush, brussel sprouts and a lamb lavash wrap. The brussel sprouts were especially delicious - crispy outside and tender inside. The sauce is amazing too. Definitely a spot to stop for great food and friendly service.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Love their falafels, so crunchy!! Also have gluten free Pita Many delicious items to share as well.
google avatar

Kathy O.

Yelp
Just got food (again!) from Spread Kitchen, which is within walking distance of my home (BONUS!!!) Everything is so fresh and flavorful, it's like an LSD tasting experience for the senses (disclaimer: I've never done LSD!) Anyway--nothing disappoints! Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
We just fall more in love with this place everytime! Tonight we had Billy as our primary server and omg he's amazing ! So sweet. This place is laid back, unpretentious and the food is so fresh and super yum. Thanks Spread Kitchen for another great meal! Y'all were on fire tonight!
google avatar

Scott A.

Yelp
This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants around! They have three meat options offered ala cart as well but the real stars of the show are vegetarian. We loved all four dipping sauces. The whipped sheep's feta with beets was especially creative. We also enjoyed the Kale Goddess salad, the dolmas, and the lamb kofta. They have yummy desserts as well! We had the brownie and the baklava. It is a small place that seats about 16 inside and a few more outside. The staff is very friendly and treat you like guests in their own home. If you come out to Sonoma for wine tasting you need to travel the extra five minutes past the square up to Boyes Hot Springs and visit the Spread!
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Excellent service, unlike most restaurants in Sonoma, Spread Kitchen serves fresh food that is not dripping with some type of oil. They use erfect seasonings used and texture is mouth watering.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Now closed Monday AND Tuesday, but still the best food you'll find in Sonoma. Absolutely kicks butt and is worth whatever you spend.
google avatar

Preeti R.

Yelp
We had such a hearty meal here, food was so fresh and flavorful. They have an outdoor space which is perfect for kids, Sonoma weather permitting. We enjoyed the fried cauliflower and chicken bowls that came with all the right fixings - green tahini, a fresh quinoa arugula salad, hummus, saffron rice. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. This was hands down the best meal we had on our recent trip to Sonoma.
google avatar

Xiaoxi W.

Yelp
Everything is so perfect, I cannot thinking about anything has gap. I order the Kale salad with Lamb Kofta. Every ingredient in the salad is so fresh and something that I never had before, except kale. The lamb is grilled at the perfect level, it is fully cooked but when you bite it, still so juicy and soft. And you all have to try the dips. Personally I like the red pepper one the most. Anyway, in general Mideast food is like the food never goes wrong, but sometime grilled food can be dry, but not at this place. Every bite can surprise you. I really enjoyed the place.
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
Was looking for a lunch spot while we were in the area. Had really good reviews and we didn't have any expectations, but the food sounded good. Not much indoor seating, but they have a great outdoor area that is really cool with a lot of character. There were 4 of us and everyone ordered the lentil soup and raved about it. Got a couple spreads and they were excellent, as well as the pickled veggies and olives that came with it. Ordered the falafel bowl and a turmeric chicken lavash wrap. Everyone loved their food and our choice for lunch. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided 1st rate service. The only downside with this place is the parking. We had to park off Hwy 12 in one of the neighborhood streets, but not a deal breaker. Would love to frequent it again.
google avatar

Sheryl M.

Yelp
We love Spread. I was kinda bummed when she left Napa for Sonoma. Although I'm happy for her it's a bummer for me :) I did realize recently they deliver to Napa, through Door Dash. It is cheaper to order from the Spread website rather than through DoorDash, at least for delivery to Napa. The only downfall in doing that is there is no way to leave a note for the driver, like DO NOT RING THE DOORBELL! Anywho, we love the turmeric chicken, the beef strips, and the kale salad. The spreads and sauces are delicious too. We order protein by single serving but if I ever make it there for a sit down lunch, I'd try a wrap. The space itself is cute. Parking is tough, but not impossible. I think they have a back patio, but I've never seen it.

Curtis A.

Yelp
I'll be brief Some of the best food I've ever had A must visit place The owner is so nice and talented A+ food and value

Annalise S.

Yelp
What an absolute gem! Came here based off a word-of-mouth recommendation and it did not disappoint. We ordered the pita hummus plate (see pic), the falafel rice combo plate, chicken and beef skewers. The variety of spreads, pickled veggies, and meats made each bite interesting and filling. We finished the meal with the rice pudding, baklava, and brownie (see pics) . Each were solid, but no need to get all three. A few of us got the orange blossom lemonade, which was unique and refreshing. The servers were welcoming and attentive, I appreciate the light banter between plates. In all, we ordered 12 items and worth the price, which wasn't bad split between 4 people. I can't wait to get back to Sonoma to visit Speead Kitchen again!

Ken B.

Yelp
Fantastic every time! Our fave Sonoma restaurant. Come. You won't be disappointed! Excellent attentive staff too.
google avatar

Dank G.

Yelp
Went by again - asked our server to order for us (party of 4). They said they ordered us their favorite dishes. All of these were our favorite dishes. Lamb, steak, chicken, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, 5 dips, dirty fries, and falafel. Orange blossom lemonade, peach apricot tea, ipa, and water. All 5 stars. Got here at 11. Sat in the back. Ambient temperature 66. But in the sun more like 77. By noon the tables were filled, and everyone at the other tables also enjoyed their meals. We couldn't eat everything and were stuffed. It was all spectacular.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Excellent service and food, with takeaway selections. Cozy seating and not so loud that you can't have a good conversation with your dining partner. Indoor and outdoor seating. Their baba ganoush is to die for. The dip plate with a selection of dips, pita, veggies and pickles is a good way to try multiple flavors, and it does not disappoint. Nice to see so many veggie options to choose from as well.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
I ordered the grain bowl with chicken to-go, and ate it so fast I didn't get a picture, but it was beautifully boxed. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious! This was my first time trying Spread, but will NOT be my last. I told my friend, whoever is in charge really cares about quality ingredients and rich flavors. We picked up the food at the restaurant, it's a such a cute/clean place! The ladies working were so sweet and helpful! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jaime N.

Yelp
The lamb kofta bowl was really good. I subbed the hummus for babaganoush, but it was more tart than I'm accustomed to and wished I just kept the hummus. Will come back for the bowl next time I'm around. I enjoyed the outdoor patio seating.
