"Springer’s Homemade Ice Cream offers more than 70 flavors, including red raspberry, butter pecan, and chocolate marshmallow. The cups and cones are popular sellers, but don’t discount the sundaes and milkshakes, which are also standout items." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
Such a nice and friendly staff and terrific ice cream! I walked in and saw so many people so I was preparing my kids for a long wait. To my surprise a minute or 2 later we were ordering and we were completely done within 5 minutes. Easy process to get orders and complete them even with a lot of people.

Richie Parsons

Google
Crazy long line, but worth the wait. They are the chick Fil a of ice cream shops when it comes to logistics and efficiency. They have a solid system for churning customers through and still provide great service while they do it. Highly recommend. Don’t be intimated by the line. It moves quickly. And the ice cream is very. very good.

Max T

Google
Springer's has a good variety of ice cream flavors and it tastes amazing! They do offer samples, which I appreciate, as I would hate to get a flavor that I did not like. The service is always friendly (even when the customers are poorly behaving with entitlement) and quick, but it is almost always guaranteed to have a line during the "beaching" season, so you will need to arrive with patience 😀 . This year, they have joined the businesses that charge a 3% credit card fee, so being cash if you don't want to pay an extra 3%.

Brian Parker

Google
The first time I went to Springer's I almost turned back after I saw the line coming out of the door and spilling onto the sidewalk almost all the way to the corner. I am so glad I didn't! What an ice cream place! The flavors are so good, and the staff are so friendly even as they blaze through person after person to get you in and out of the door. If you are visiting Stone Harbor, you have to make sure to stop in here before you leave!

Tom Brown

Google
Good ice cream, There are many flavors to choose from. For me, my wife, and my son, it was roughly 30 bucks. All of us got double scoops and waffle cones.

Dane Timmins

Google
Don't be scared away by the line; it moves fairly quickly! The ice cream was reasonably priced and the employees were helpful and outgoing. They have many different flavors, including non-dairy. The system they have for taking orders and paying worked really well. I will definitely be returning!

Google
Springers has to be one of the best ice cream places at the beach. It's family run, I actually knew the owners at one point and have had family who worked in the shop. You absolutely have to stop get some of this ice cream! The new to go shop is my absolute favorite pop in grab and go!

Blair Willis

Google
Amazing ice cream and tons of flavors! Will be a new vacation staple in our family!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Ice cream was delicious and so nice to have homemade ice cream instead of a brand you can buy in the store. The ice cream was really creamy and good. I had the almond amaretto. It was great! You can sample anything before you choose. They have a good variety of ice cream. Only a couple of tables out front and the one we sat at needed to be cleaned pretty bad but that's the only negative. Definitely worth a visit!

Mike S.

Yelp
Springer's Handmade Ice Cream is an excellent spot for anyone who enjoys high-quality ice cream. They offer a wide variety of flavors, and I've had the chance to try several, including pistachio, peanut butter cup, vanilla, and pumpkin pie. Each flavor is true to its name; rich, well-balanced, and satisfying. The staff at Springer's is always friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. Even when it's busy, they manage the line quickly, so you're not left waiting too long. The place is also impressively clean, which is something I really appreciate. Overall, Springer's is a great choice if you're in the mood for some well-made, delicious ice cream.

Margie K.

Yelp
A 50 year tradition if in Stone Harbor, they don't have table service any more which is sad... our favorite thing to do with Grandkids and our friends

Donna P.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Springer's in about 7 years. Yet when I went the other night it ran as smoothly as always. There is always a line, but they keep the line moving. We had the chocolate marshmallow and cotton candy ice cream. Both were delicious. There was plenty of space outside to eat it on a bench.

Devon K.

Yelp
Loved the vibes and delicious ice cream! They run a smooth operation on busy summer nights :)

Mags M.

Yelp
I think it's the only homemade ice cream store in stone harbor so the line is always insane during the summer hours. But the ice cream is just ok - would try the Avalon ice cream stores before returning to this one.

Kate M.

Yelp
Great tasting and lots of varieties! Great for the whole family! Even have dairy free options for me!

Crystal B.

Yelp
Springers has the best ice cream I've ever tasted in my entire life! They also have a variety of different flavors, that you can mix & match! Thank me later

Sammie D.

Yelp
This place has a line out the door every day and for good reason! They have so many flavors to choose from and everything tastes so good! They absolutely deserve all the hype! Blueberry cheesecake is my favorite, but drunken cherry and coffee are up there too!

Mike G.

Yelp
Chocolate overload , banana fudge, chocolate chip , peanut butter banana.... All absolutely fabulous! I have been here in the past and remember being unimpressed, tried to visit a few times over the years but didn't feel like waiting in the long lines ... I wish I had waited! This ice cream is as good as it gets anywhere... super creamy , interesting flavors and a-lot of hype . Springers definitely lived up to its reputation as it was difficult to chose a flavor but they were all amazing. I would say the chocolate overload was the best and banana fudge was a close second. Do yourself a favor and wait in the long line , you will be happy!

Yelp
Classic | Creamy | Options Classic - Springer's is a staple of life on the 7-mile island. There are effectively two institutions when it comes to ice cream, and this is the one in Stone Harbor. It is the quintessential old-school ice cream spot. You show up and when you get into the building you will be called to the front and will order from the big board. You have to go whether you have little ones, you are a teenager, or you are visiting family - you have to check out Springers. Traditional - They have traditional scoop ice cream here. Springer's has a set of staple flavors and a few seasonal flavors. Take your time whenever you consume because you will have a STRONG brain freeze if you rush. You can look up their flavors online. So, while you are in line definitely look them over because there are typically 25+ flavors on the menu. Options - You have a variety of options for toppings at the Springer's. You can add jimmies (sprinkles - for people not from the northeast), M & Ms, Oreos, gummy worms, etc. Pro Tip - There is limited parking. Therefore plan on walking over. You have to go during the day in the summer. If you go after 6 pm, there will be a line of 50+ people. Pro Tip - When in doubt - Get the BLUE THING. IT'S a calorie overload but well worth it.

Yelp
This business is closed until sometime in 2024. Their hours on Yelp are not updated, says they're open! This is unfortunate as many of us end up driving all the way to the business, only to find out they're shut down.

Michelle R.

Yelp
The ice cream was just average. The service was such a disappointment, everyone runs around and seems to have no direction. I placed an order and the wait time was ridiculous. They said they had forgot to turn on the waffle maker. This is like going to get french fries in the fryer being off..I certainly expected like a Belgium waffle. I got these two little round small waffles they were not exactly what I am used to, and they did not impressed me very much.. Then believe it or not, can you imagine on a Waffle sundae you have to pay for whipped cream and hot fudge The prices were a little steep for three items a kiddie cup a milkshake and this waffle sundae. It was $21. And I really believe for a place that has inside seating there should've been a bathroom and there was not.. well as I am from Atlanta County I went all the way down to check this ice cream parlor out and compare it to where I live. I use the Jersey cow and I was so not impressed by Springers. The jersey cow beats them by so much in many ways.

Yelp
~Monica's T.A.S.T.E. Test~ Taste: I've had countless Springer's flavors and each one has been amazing. They give you samples when you are deciding which one is perfect for you which only enhances the experience. This day we got a split cup of milk and cookies and peppermint which was the most amazing combination. Sweet cookies with a minty finish, so great! Atmosphere: The inside has a small seating area in the back, but I wouldn't count on being able to sit down unless its winter. Summers can have 30 minute lines that wrap around the block, but in Stone Harbor its a must to check off the box. Service: Super fast and friendly, these servers are efficient. They know the flavors well. Tab: Kind of a hefty price tag, but considering its homemade hard scoop ice cream in a tourist town, its worth the splurge. Just remember its cash only. Extra wow factor: They have so many flavors. Something for everyone! Does it pass the T.A.S.T.E test? Yes! I am a lifetime patron and just converted Nathan as well!

Yelp
Easy to find down from 98th Street, it's within reach of a parking lot and plenty of metered parking. There's an ATM on-site and one at Wawa to absolve the cash only debacle quickly. If a debate still brews, treat them to a dish of Emotionally Nuts, while you are busy sampling from the variety of other classic and unique dairy flavors. Ice and sorbet makes up the nondairy list, would be cool to see more than ice and sorbet. Maybe something with a coconut base? Or a non dairy lavender ice cream? K, back for the dairy readers... there's some flavors (like birthday cake) which are seemingly popular, but you're welcome to sample at your leisure until your big decision. Worried you'll tie up the line? They run like a well-oiled machine here. On a busy late Sunday evening, we watched as everyone was served timely and happily as the line kept moving smoothly even meandering around a few Instagrammers caught in That Moment. Sigh!

Kt R.

Yelp
OMG, this ice cream is amazing!!! I even had a banana split with three different scoops. Sugar overload for sure, but it was worth it!

Brady S.

Yelp
Very good ice cream! They always have a long line so plan to wait for about 10 mins on average. The prices are a little higher than the average ice cream shop, but the ice cream makes up for it. I'll be back again for sure!

Lou C.

Yelp
Great ice cream, and always adding new flavors. The pumpkin pie ice cream is a sure winner! Staff is always friendly and the lines move fast. Great set-up during COVID-19 and Line still moves fast.

Kristin C.

Yelp
Jersey Shore classic! We were fortunate enough to stop by on July 25th when they were running their Christmas in July special! The pumpkin pie ice cream made my night! I've been coming to Springers for 45 years. I enjoyed it so much as a child and I'm so happy to have shared the love with my own children!

Maria-Elena T.

Yelp
The line was pretty crazy long at nearly 10pm on a Saturday night. But it moved fast. Really fast. We had just hit it wrong, when we left it was half that length. The place is run like a well-oiled machine. They have a system to get you in and out quickly. And it's cash only. Despite the assembly line process, i took time to taste many flavors before deciding on banana peanut butter in a kiddy cup with a sugar cone. The ice cream was amazing and the cone crisp and fresh. Everything I read about this place being the best ice cream is true.

Mike Z.

Yelp
Bomb ice cream! Great friendly staff. Amazing assortment of flavors. Huge servings. The negative reviews are hilarious. Made by psychopaths for sure. So not listen to the nay sayers. This place is legit.

M G.

Yelp
Profit over Customers Would not allow a child to use bathroom. Good to know who you are and what you really are all about. Making the decision to be open in a beach town serving food to children and then after waiting in a long line not allowing the child to use the bathroom makes your customers have a terrible experience. This was supposed to be a memory with my child just like when I went. Instead we ran all over Stone Harbor trying to find a bathroom. His ice cream melted before he could eat it. Nice way to treat your customers. And your ice cream is overpriced and flavorless. It is un American to serve homemade ice cream to children and refuse to allow your paying families to use a bathroom. I mean really come on. How much money do you need to take from families on vacation while not treating them nicely? And my child knew it was wrong and mean.

Tracey D.

Yelp
I couldn't wait to go to Springer's Ice Cream after seeing them make a few best of NJ ice cream lists. My expectations were very high and I LOVE ice cream. After pulling up the flavors from a posted QR code I was disappointed that the only coffee related flavor was sugar free. So I picked chocolate Oreo. Boy was I disappointed. It had an odd or off taste with very little Oreos. I almost forgot there was supposed to be Oreos in it. Springers had an outdoor window to place your order where everyone kept their proper social distance but the pick up window could potentially be crowded. I paid $4.50 for the fairly small cup with no toppings. I'd chose to go somewhere else.

Jenna M.

Yelp
Honestly the ice cream is not worth the hype. It's very expensive; nearly $6.00 for a single scoop. It doesn't have a ton of flavor and the flavor it does have isn't super desirable. The one star was for the worker at the window, he was really really hot.

Jen H.

Yelp
I enjoy the delicious ice-cream here at Springer's but hate hate HATE cash only. I don't see them changing that ever. Why should they?! They have lines out the wazoo at night & for that very reason I go in the afternoon or early evening. I always get The Blue One- it used to be called Cookie Monster but they got in trouble for using that name. I get a single dip in a cookie cone. Only on vacation am I crazy enough to spend nearly 6$ on just one ice-cream cone. It's WORTH IT!! The kids at the counter are very helpful. To me, I'm 50-so everyone is a "kid". . They have to be doing something right, they've have been around since prohibition! We asked where the ice-cream is made and were told on site. I was very curious due to the high volume and abundant flavors. I don't know how they do it- but they do!!

Kelly W.

Yelp
Yummmmmmm...sums it up ! This explains the reason we wait in the long lines! A recommended stop for ice cream lovers!

Jeff M.

Yelp
We've been going to Springer's for years. A lot of reviewers have noted that you can't come to Stone Harbor or Avalon without a trip to Springer's. That's it: It's obligatory, practically a local law. And you won't be disappointed, ever. I've had many flavors. Peach is a favorite. So is peanut butter cup, which I had today. Middle of the day seems like a good time to go. We were there the other night and the line was a block long. People getting their end of season fix. Of course, it was Sunday night on a Labor Day weekend. Anyway, great service from people who really know their stuff. A bit pricey, but you won't regret it.

Lauren L.

Yelp
We visited Springer's for ice cream earlier this week, and I got Butterscotch Brickle in a waffle cone. It was yummy and satisfied my caramel craving. The ice cream was about $5.

Joe C.

Yelp
Line moves quick and the homemade ice cream is worth the wait. Lots of flavors and we all enjoyed our selection!

Joanna L.

Yelp
This is the kind of homemade ice cream that you crave. They have a ton of fabulous flavors (Moreo, dark night, and mint are some of my favs). The line may look long at times, but it moves. They have a well-oiled operation to getting people in and out. Friendly staff, too. The best time to go is right before they close.

Rex K.

Yelp
Ok-This has been our all time favorite ice cream establishment, an institution in Stone Harbor for a long-long time!!! I had my favorite, banana in a sugar cone and was not disappointed! Two large scoops of delish banana heaven! My wife had bourbon (yes fantastic real bourbon chocolate chip ice cream which I sampled and loved! Daughter had PBC (Peanut Butter Cup) that she said was equally amazing in a bowl! Hats off to the hard working and very quick staff making the well earned long lines go quickly!!

James B.

Yelp
Ice cream is great consistency and lots of delicious flavors . Employees are not that understanding, choosing ice cream flavors is not easy, slow down.

Vanessa D.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with ice cream from Springer's. It's a family tradition to go while we're on vacation in stone harbor.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
The best. Family favorite and summer tradition! Bumpy road, PBC and the Blue one are high on our list! Worth the line - it moves fast!

Rick R.

Yelp
Best ice cream on 7 Mile Island!! Gotta have some butterscotch brickle or my summer is not complete!!

M L.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream! Efficient staff. Be prepared for long lines during the Summer post dinner time.

Kim M.

Yelp
WOW!! I consider myself a connoisseur of ice cream, and let me tell you...this if GOOD ice cream. Springer's seriously has the best banana ice cream I've ever eaten. Ridiculously good!! We also tried the Donut and the Peanut Butter Cup. To die for yum!! Luckily we were visiting Stone Harbor during the 'off' season so we had little to no wait and were able to sit on the benches outside and enjoy our cones. Yes, it is worth the hype. Note...Springer's is CASH ONLY.

Kelsey T.

Yelp
Can't miss spot if you're in Stone Harbor or honestly any place on the Jersey Shore. Heard such good things about Springer's and it did not disappoint! Drove over half an hour just to try it and would drive those lengths to get it again. I ordered Moreo and Vanilla in a waffle cone and both were great and tasted amazing paired together. HIGHLY recommend Moreo!! The portions were great and the servers were all friendly. There's not really a clear line inside which was kind of confusing so just make eye contact with an available server and you'll be set! There is table seating inside and plenty of benches outside to enjoy your ice cream. Just a heads up there is no bathroom inside. The closest one is at their public bathrooms about a block around the corner near the water tower (the Wawa next door doesn't have a bathroom either)

Louis M.

Yelp
Best ice cream ever...tons of selection. Sometimes a wait, but that's part of the fun. Meet new friends and lots of jokes. Don't miss it

Bill B.

Yelp
I can never give Springers less than 5 stars. Being honest I only ever eat one flavor at Springers. I don't think I have ever had anything else but the Teaberry ice cream. Love it The lines are long in the evening and night. It's crowded and all the things you hear about the lines are true. It's a shore staple and I would have it no other way. They offer many different flavors and all seem to be a hit. I don't think you will be disappointed

Samantha B.

Yelp
We came here on here trip to Wildwood because I wanted to kind of get out of the area and try someplace new. Springer's homemade ice cream had a line at even 4 o'clock. However you can definitely tell that they take and care and making sure that there is covid regulations in place for their customers. You have to be 6 feet apart in the lines and you can only order one window and they drop it off in another one. They definitely have an assortment of flavors you look at the flavors when you get up there because there is no other signage that they had to display with having that day. I ordered the chocolate overload ice cream sundae and I thought it was just OK I think I need a little bit more seltzer because ice cream is pretty melted. You can definitely tell the ice cream is homemade but I think it needs to be a little bit harder. However, I would come back again.

Ellen F.

Yelp
Super busy during summer but the ice cream is delicious. I had the cherry cheesecake and the strawberry cheesecake. The cherry is better and I'd recommend adding the hot fudge to it. :)

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
Really good ice cream. I order the "blue one" every time - vanilla ice cream dyed blue with generous amounts of cookie dough, Oreos, and mini chocolate chips. I get a single dip of that flavor in a cookie cone - total of $5.75. It's a little steep for ice cream but it is the jersey shore after all. My mom and I were here one night and paid $11.50 for two single dips in a cookie cone no sprinkles. We came back a few days later and ordered the same thing and the ice cream scooper tried to charge us $13, thankfully we caught this and told him there must've been a mistake. He said "oh it would be $13 if you got sprinkles." Make sure they don't overcharge you...it's expensive enough as it is.

Amy B.

Yelp
If you are staying in Stone Harbor or Avalon, a visit to Springers is a must. The line wraps around the block each night but moves pretty fast.

Vin D.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot in Stone Harbor. The location is great as it right off the main road and not far from the corner of the main square. It is usually packed especially on main holiday weekends such as Memorial and Fourth of July, but the lines move pretty fast. On my last visit, I ordered the dark forest ice cream, and had a shake with chocolate chip and coconut, and both were super good and something you'd gladly order again even if you were foregoing trying something different. Only drawbacks are its cash only and the inside is very crowded although they do a good enough job keeping it organized and moving. One other positive, which is a tad unconventional, is if you are into renting exotic sports cars, this is a great place to park it in front and showboat. Anyway I sure cannot wait until next season to indulge again.

Jillian N.

Yelp
You can't come to Stone Harbor and not get Springer's ice cream. It is unbelievable! Don't let the line scare you - it goes super fast!!!

Bob A.

Yelp
I am not Exaggerating this is the best ice cream I have ever consumed!!! As other reviews state there is almost always a long line but the staff keeps it moving so don't let the line scare you away. This place moves like a machine it's impressive how fast it moves. I tried the cookies and milk ice cream and my girlfriend had the mint choc chip. We were literally giggling like little kids and smiling from ear to ear from eating this amazing ice cream. If you are at the Jersey shore this is a must visit

Lia R.

Yelp
This ice cream is so freaking good!!!!! I've had two flavors recently that are noteworthy: 1) cookie dough 2) monster chocolate I appreciate their cookie dough because they do not skimp on the cookie dough chunks and that's important because the base is vanilla. The monster chocolate is chocolate ice cream with fudge, brownie pieces and chocolate cake pieces (so I've been told). When you get a brownie piece (more like a chunk/ a quarter of a brownie), it's truly a moment of heaven. For those certain bites, it's so incredibly worth it to get this flavor IMO. I did try mint chocolate chip too. I've had better in regard to this flavor, but the other two above were top knotch (hence why the rating is five star) Enjoy

Chris E.

Yelp
Good ice cream. Line was long around 7PM but moved quick. Lots of fun flavors! They do take credit card which is convenient. Lots of kids working hard to earn money for college. This is the seashore at its best!
