The Best New Vegan Dishes In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Dish: Omni Pork Fresh Spring Rolls Each of these huge spring rolls comes stuffed with a slab of meatless pork that’s about a foot long, a handful of vermicelli noodles, chopped cucumbers, sliced carrots, and lots of cilantro. After dunking one in the plum dipping sauce, we bit into what tasted like a chunk of Oprah’s herb garden. The crunchy cucumber and sweet pork pairs well with the fresh cilantro and vinegary plum sauce. Two of these at lunch time kept us full until dinner, but this Cambodian spot in Mid-City has a bunch of other dishes like banh mi, walnut shrimp, and loklac you should save room for." - nikko duren, kat hong

Srey Vegan - Review - Mid-City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Srey specializes in vegan Cambodian food, so think plant-based spring rolls, fried “shrimp” with chili basil sauce, banh mi sandwiches, and home-made chai (which comes in a special cup). It’s operated as a pop-up throughout the city over the last few years, but recently opened a brick-and-mortar spot in Mid City." - Nikko Duren

This was delicious! The shrimp was crunchy and flavorful. The pork was rich and tasty. I was glad I upgraded to the garlic rice. The presentation was also fantastic, and this is a beautiful as well as tasty dish. Everything is vegan, and my kosher friend was excited to have shrimp again. He actually liked this shrimp better. I found them at the Vegas VegFest, and I will check them out again if I am in the area.

I had the "pork" fried rice at the Riverside Lunar Festival this weekend. Couldn't really tell it was vegan, lol. That's how legit it was, amazing dish by Srey. She takes her work and cuisine seriously and it shows in her food. If you get the chance to try her out at a pop up, I highly recommend you do, especially if you're looking for a vegan option. Cambodian fusion at its finest!

*note* this is a food truck I found at Vegan Playground in Little Tokyo in Wednesday evenings The Cambodian spices were unexpected, but very welcome. Cinnamon? Nutmeg? I'm not sure, but it was really saucy and yummy! Topped an orchid flower, pretty plating

I’m not vegan, but this was new to the area so I thought I’d give it a try. Really delicious! I had the beef on garlic rice. Usually vegan food is quite salty and a weird texture, but this is the best I’ve had… can’t wait for more dishes on offer!

Got takeout for lunch for the first time. Owner was super friendly and the food was delicious! I really enjoyed the beef. Will definitely go back to try the banh mi

Food was delicious. I just went onto Happy Cow and found this vegan restaurant nearby with simply an empty stomach. The food didn't take long but I could tell that the chef put her soul and heart into making the food. She was very friendly. I ordered the pork rice while my bf ordered the hookup. We shared our food and both dishes tastes really good. The faux meat tasted delicious and she even adds an edible orchid to her dishes. Please come visit this restaurant if you are nearby. Vegan or not, the food is delicious.

This place opened near my gym. Vegan Cambodian? I had to try it. It's a needed addition to the many vegan cuisines available in LA! The owner works hard to bring out all of the flavor in each dish. My non vegan friend also loved the food here, because it tastes great and the portions are just right.

Loved it. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. And hands down, the best vegan food I had. I can’t wait to come back to L.A. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Yelp
One of my favorite go to spots at Vegan Playground. The food is absolutely amazing. The vegan shrimp are glazed with a savory sauce with a crunchy outside. The rice have a creamy taste (my opinion). I order the garlic rice. It's the best garlic jasmine rice I've had. The crushed sautéed walnuts are scattered throughout the dish. The walnuts add that extra layer of goodness. The vegan Thai tea is by far the best Thai tea I've ever had! I have to pace myself because I'm trying to watch my calories lol. If you're ever at vegan playground on Wednesdays or Fridays be sure to check them out. The owner is absolutely the sweetest person. She Always has a smile on her face and make you feel welcomed.

Yelp
Looking for an inspiring dish? Want it to be creative, delicious and in good proportion? Wouldn't it be awesome to have this in a vegan option & not sacrifice the dynamics of taste & texture! I found it! **I found this spot at a vegan food event in West Hills called "818VeganCollective." Lots of incredible food options from savory to sweet, & items that are supporting local, conscious businesses** I had the Pineapple, Walnut Shrimp Bowl with a yummy garlic rice, drizzled with an amazing sauce & topped with a beautiful orchid! The crispy crunch of the shrimp was PERFECT! Unbelievably well done! There was a little bit of a wait, but it was most certainly worth it! They had so many tasty looking options that I look forward to trying like Orange Shrimp & the "beef" Lok Lac. All of the patrons seemed really enthused about their dishes, but my belly only had room for one! I look forward to sinking my teeth into all of them!

Yelp
Met them at the Berkeley vegan festival. Waited about 30 min in line. And the. 2 hours before we got any food. Really poorly managed kitchen.

Yelp
Went to the Venice beach pop up. The garlic rice was great and threw in a free spring roll with my order. Would eat there again

Yelp
Great place, great food, great people. Best vegan food in mid-city. Easy street parking available.
