4.5/5 - Great indian food. Dishes were seasoned well and in good portions. Service was great. We had the garlic naan, special chicken and the malai kofta. Everything hit the spot including mango lassis ( not pictured). Definitely some of the better indian take-out food Ive had in the last few years.

WOW, how did it take me this long to write a review for our favorite local Indian restaurant?! Srinagar’s food is phenomenal, the staff are so friendly and kind, the prices are reasonable, and they are right near the center of Narberth! To give a sense on how much we love Srinagar, Thursdays are “Srinagar night” in our house and we usually dine in or get takeout from there. Two of my favorites are the paneer tikka masala and chana saag, but we have never had anything here that we didn’t enjoy! Highly recommend!!

The food and service here is SO GOOD! Our entrees were delicious and the garlic naan bread was so light and fluffy. Truly some of the best Indian food that I’ve had.

Srinagar is a small restaurant on a quiet little street in Narberth. I have to say that the food here was excellent! In fact, it was some of the best indian food I have ever had. The dishes were fragrant, fresh, and served piping hot. We highly recommend the chana masala, saag paneer, and fresh-baked naan. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Great food. Online ordering for pickup has no reliable information about when food will be ready. Sometimes it is ready in minutes, sometimes they are very busy and I wait for 20 minutes beyond when the website says my order is ready. So frustrating.

Warmth in all senses. Lamb roganjosh and mango chicken among our favorites. Flavors pleasantly strong, colors, too. When our table is filled with luscious curries and noses with heavenly aroma, in the cozy warm dine-in space, we get an instant reboot from whatever cold or bumpy day that hit us. My whole family love this place, esp my middle school boys. We can dial up the spicy level all the way to the authentic hot. The sweet rice and mango lassi drinks balance out the dishes wonderfully. Take-away works smoothly, too. Website easy to read and use, phone call also easy. The owner and crew have such genuine pride and love for the food and culture that gives a warm soul to this place.

Great food and friendly staff. We had chicken seekh kabab as Appetizer, and as main dish chicken tikka Masala , chicken and lamb Biryani , everything was delicious chicken and lamb very tender and the portion is so good, we ordered it mild so the kids could eat and they totally enjoyed it. I totally recommend this place .

Delicious food. Friendly service. Casual atmosphere. Outside seating available. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this fairly new spot in Narberth. I highly recommend the Peshawari Naan. It’s a family recipe that fills naan with coconut and other nuts. It’s sweet and chewy and crunchy. I also had a noodle dish Chicken Hakka, which is savory and delicious. And: SAME PRICE CASH or CREDIT CARD! No nuisance fee nonsense!

Here again to report that it is still the best Indian we've ever had and happily continue to have! Recent pictures include the Srinigar Special Biryani, Butter Chicken, and Lamb Korma which are all 10/10s. The service was wonderful and the food came out so quickly!

Food is flavorful and delicious! Service is good! If ordering Take-out it can take some time but the staff are very kind so that makes up for the rare lateness. There is usually a good amount of street parking out front as well! I highly recommend!

Very unassuming restaurant hides fantastic food!!! I'd give it 5 stars if it had nicer ambiance.

We were able to snag a rare table because we were a large patron party .... and live is better! Fine service and great Indian dishes including some stuffed naan varieties we'd never tried. The most tender tandoori chicken; perfectly done salmon; the best saag. When they say "mild" they really mean it.

I'll tell you why I award Srinagar five stars. I have two favorite dishes: gobi Manchurian (cauliflower) and chicken tikka. If a restaurant's got it, I get it. And most places fall short. At Srinagar the chicken is succulent, mildly-spiced and always delicious. Same with the cauliflower appetizer I enjoy. Many Indian restaurants over-cook my favorites leaving me disappointed with no recourse. (I know you're feeling sorry for me! .... I'm being sarcastic!!) My husband inevitably orders lamb. Generally vindaloo, once in a while korma, which is what he got Friday. Indian restaurants do sauces right, and Srinagar is up there with the best. Their lamb is tender and lean, versus restaurants where it's gamey and tough. I've recently decided to stop ordering naan in any Indian restaurant. When you ask for garlic, it's barely detectable. If I want bread, poori is my preference, but it's become increasingly hard to find. Srinagar is a small and popular restaurant, which means seating is limited. My solution is to arrive early. I learned when we went with Gerald S, that one can make reservations .... but I wonder if they really honor those reservations if people are waiting to be seated. (It's an informal place.) Cash and credit cards accepted. BYOB too! In case you're looking for a spot, there's free parking in a small lot behind the building.

We have been on the hunt for the best Indian food around and we may have found it. We came here on a Wednesday around 5:30 and folks were coming in for pickup but there was plenty of seating for dine in despite being a fairly small quiet place. The host was extremely friendly and helpful for us as we attempted to dine with our 11 month old and dog in the outdoor seating area. We started with the Samosa chaat and Papri chaat and when they arrived we realized we had ordered far too much food. Both were delicious. The Samosa was served hot and the papri was served cold and both were delicious. You probably only need to order one or the other. Our Sag paneer was divine and got two thumbs up from baby as well. The Garlic naan complimented it perfectly. We wound up taking a ton of food home and I wish we had brought some of our own containers. This is the spot to get Indian food. We've tried the others and this is it!

Loved this place! The prices were great, the food came out fast, and the appetizers were amazing. I especially loved the gobi manchurian and samosa chaat. Definitely worth the drive, I'll be back for sure!

We ordered our benchmark dishes for South Asian food at a new restaurant: lamb biryani, butter chicken and saag paneer. Wow! Each dish was delicious and the spices beautifully balanced. Try the chaats as well. Thank you!

Friday night I met Meredith R. and Theron for a Yelp doubleheader - Indian dinner at Srinagar and dessert at Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream as part of an Elite Event. They are right around the corner from each other, so park once, eat twice! Srinagar is a very small house with about ten tables packed into the petit dining room. Reservations recommended as it fills up fast. Service is friendly and responsive, and the cuisine is solid if not spectacular. We ordered for ourselves and agreed to sample everything on the table. I appreciated the red wine my new friends brought with them. I ordered vegetarian oriented Jeera Aloo (lightly spiced roast potatoes), Bhindi Masala (Okra), and Garlic Naan. Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower), Chicken Tikka and a spicy Lamb Masala went to the other side of the table. I found everything quite good, but nothing exceptional. My Jeera Aloo was a bit plain on the buds, and more a roasted potato my Polish grandmother would serve. The Bhindi was tasty and texturous with the flavor of okra predominating. Liked it. The naan seemed garlic free. Disappointing. My friends' Gobi was very nice with beautiful red amber coat and taste of the mountains. Both the chicken and lamb were pleasant traditional preparations with well established tandoori grill and mild Indian spiced sauces. Good choices. Our conversation was the main thing I came for, and as a result I focused more on friends than food. Still I remained sufficiently alert to note what we were eating. It was all well worth my first visit to Narberth, the lovely borough completely surrounded by Lower Merion. Jeni's was a three minute walk on the now darkened rainy streets.

Full disclosure, I'm not an expert on Indian Cuisine, but someone here knows how to cook and always delivers. Great food, reasonably priced, and I haven't had a bad experience. My friends and family also appreciate this local gem! It is a smaller dining area and sometimes weekend takeout gets busy, so plan accordingly!

I have eaten several times in this hidden gem of a restaurant, and I am never disappointed. The food quality is consistently high, with everything served fresh and piping hot. From the number of customers I have seen during my visits, I can tell I am not alone when I say what an excellent restaurant Srinagar is. One caveat; the restaurant is rather cold in the winter months. I have been keeping my coat on when I visit! This small inconvenience is worth it to enjoy the food, which is incredible.

Love the pakoras, samosas, naan, and every curry I've had from there. Paneer makhani is the best around

Srinagar Indian Cuisine is a superb addition to downtown Narberth! Located at N Essex and Haverford Ave (on N Essex), this establishment offers dine in and take out options (also on Grubhub). These traditional Indian dishes are flavorful and SPICY (if requested). I've visited a few times- each visit was consistently fresh and the food is served by friendly faces! Get the Vegetable Somasa, Vegetable Pakora, Garlic Naan, Gobi Manchurian, Vegetable Tikka Masala.

This is some of the best food on the mainline, let alone for sure the best Indian food. It's flavorful and rich, with each dish having a unique taste. Spent 6 months living in India, this is the real deal. Reasonably priced, too. 10/10!

The service is very good. The ladies waiting on us were attentive, prompt and knowledgeable about their food and menu. We both had samosas, garlic naan and biriyani. It was plenty of food to fill you up and grab a take home box. They also have outdoor seating for those nice nights outside or for overflow from the inside. There wasn't many people eating in the restaurant the Sunday evening we went. There was a steady flow of folks coming for takeout though. My husband is a vegetarian and he thoroughly enjoyed his food. I recommend checking them out if you're vegetarian and/or if you enjoy Indian cuisine.

I have dined at Srinagar many times and I hope to return many more times. The food is superb, and the staff is friendly and courteous.

I'll add to the list of those complimenting this restaurant. Ordered takeout on Moms Day for the first time. Decent online ordering platform that sends usual confirmations plus an order status. Located 1/2 block off the main drag in Narberth, it's a tidy shop with indoor and outdoor tables, and bustling this particular Eve. While we ordered traditionally family favorites as far as Indian fare, absolutely found it top notch. The veggie samosas are delicious with requisite green chutney of mint and cilantro and a brown tamarind sweet and sour sauce. The deeply rich colored chicken vindaloo ordered xtra spicy, stands out even though vindaloo is ubiquitous. Likewise, the "medium" spicy chicken tikka was loved by the teen, also advocating for this being the best he's had. The pickup was easy.

My kids and I just tried this place for dinner tonight. The food was okay. I am black and my kids are biracial. The male waiter was kind, but then the woman who worked there was really overbearingly pushy about getting my payment as if I would run out with 2 kids without paying. She did NOT treat her white patrons this way at all. She rushed up as we were packing our leftovers and asked if we were splitting the bill (who splits a dining bill with children?). Then she gave me the ipad etc to pay and firmly stood over our shoulder while I decided the tip etc (not cool). My daughter asked her for a bag for our leftovers and she still stood over us like a hawk. She directed someone else to get us a bag. I did not like being treated differently by her than the white patrons so I will not be back. I gave a nice top anyway.

We enjoyed having dinner at Sringar recently. The menu is varied and overall the food is good. The only downside is service wasn't particularly welcoming or attentive. It may have been due to the busyness of the restaurant while we were there. That was the only reservation we had about recommending this restaurant wholeheartedly.

The good; Service was good. The waitress was excellent. The place size is decent. Its clean. Chilly Paneer, Kadai vegetables, the kulcha and Gobi Manchurian were good. The bad: Biryani was tasteless. Also the Hakka noodles were oily. Over all, the place was ok.

I love this restaurant. I have not had better Indian cuisine outside of my friend's homes or at weddings. The naan, biryani, and especially the tikka masala is consistently good. I also appreciate that if you ask for something to be spicy, you get just that with no excuses. Understandably, restaurants must cater to their clients, but this one manages to do so without becoming dull/plain/boring like some of it's neighboring establishments.

Casual, warm & clean restaurant. Rather small. Food is delicious, flavorful. We ordered lamb vindaloo & special Srinagar chicken plus appetizer. Probably best in the area. Service is attentive & friendly. Highly recommend.

Best Indian on the main line! (And I've tried a lot). My go tos are chicken tikka masala and lamb saag. Huge portions and packed with fresh meat. I'd say they lean on the spicier side compared to other local Indian places so while I often get medium at other restaurants, here I often ask for between mild and medium. They're always fast both for carry out and delivery.

Small Indian restaurant that serves great food! They are attentive about keeping your waters full and their dishes can be quite spicy; so to be safe, go with medium spice at most when you try their food for the first time. This place is also BYOB if that interests you. The lamb isn't too gamey as I tried the lamb vindaloo and lamb sagaar (which I personally preferred of the two). I also got their special chicken which you can't go wrong with. And obviously could not not order naan. I got the garlic and onion. I liked the onion better as it had a more pronounced flavor that complemented every dish. The dishes were served with rice and they are happy to give you more if you need it. All in all I'm glad I tried this gem of a place.

This is the best Indian food I've had in the Philadelphia region. This place is perfect for takeout, and has a nice but small eat-in area. The food is fantastic and the service is great. It's family run and very kid friendly.

Unassuming little gem tucked into Narberth. Excellent sit down service with a robust stream of take outs. Phenomenal food. Fresh and beautifully prepared. Chicken/shrimp/paneer all delicious. Generous serving size called for leftovers. Go here!

i've only ever delivered it, so I can't speak for the restaurant itself, but I can speak for the food. I order Gobi Manchurian, Vegetable Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan (i'm vegetarian). Food is amazing and consistent. They always give side of rice and I think mint chutney? whatever it is, it's delicious. their food is flavorful and feels homey. it's my favorite indian restaurant in the area.

Their takeout business seems to be going gangbusters. In the restaurant, there were four parties sat on a Thursday night, including us. This is not by any means just a run of the mill Indian joint. The food was so good, I swooned. Like, I think my eyes actually rolled back in my head. It tastes like your grandma (if your grandma is Indian) cooked for you. The flavor profile was just unique enough to taste like someone's well worn family recipes. Even the rice was special--perfumey, fragrant, pick individual grains off your shirt good. We ordered the daal makhani, lamb korma, and samosas. All of it tasted like it was made with love.

The food was spectacular. There's a reason it's rated one of the best on main line. Service was quick and the woman running the counter was insanely considerate. The price is unmatched; for the portions we received I would've paid much more.

We ordered food to pick up, our taste buds wanted something different to eat. The person who answered the phone was friendly and asked after each order how spicy would we like it. We had the best vegetable somas we have ever eaten, the sauces on the side were flavorful, too. Also had the Jeers Aloo, delicious potatoes. And, the yellow dal, had no idea lentils could taste so good! Portions were large and it was ready on time and hot when we got it home. We will be back!

Ordered online and picked up our food. It was delicious! The online portal accidentally charged my card twice, when I called the restaurant they were very friendly and said they would take care of it. I got a phone call in a couple of minutes explaining that because of the holiday it would take a couple of days. They even called me back a week later to confirm that my payment was corrected. Excellent customer service!

Best Indian restaurant on the Main Line. Attentive staff, small but cozy and comfortable seating area, phenomenal food. The Lamb Special (Spicy of course) is genuinely one of my hypothetical death row meals.

Every so often you find a place that comes together is remarkable ways. This is a simple place in a storefront in Narberth. There are 8-10 tables. We came early-ish (around 5) before a game at a local University. The food was the most extraordinary Indian food I've had in 15 years. The Saag Paneer was fresh, creamy, with flavors bursting through it. OMG! The chicken korma was delightful; the korma's flavors were complex, but worked together beautifully. I would put it on rice all day. Every day. The only bad side of this was that the chicken was slightly dry. No matter. The naan was delightful; light and tasty. The mango chutney a nice touch. We ordered medium-so pleasantly spicy that the regular water service was welcomed. This place is a gem. If we lived nearby, we'd eat here so frequently, they'd name a table after us....

Wonderful flavors. We ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Chana Saag. Amazing sauces. My only problem was with the Chicken Seekh Kebab. It was so dried out we couldn't eat it. This is now my 'go to' for Indian food. Stay with the sauces.

We had a great dinner! Everything was cooked perfectly. We had apps and chicken entrees. It stays open a little later than other spots in Narberth so we got to hang out for a bit and talk to our waiter for awhile.

Large selection of menu items with plenty of choices for vegetarians. Nut ingredients are clearly indicated. Rice and sauces were included with our entrees (which was not clearly indicated). Delivery was fast and friendly, food arrived piping hot (we live nearby) and they included a free rice pudding! Oh, and everything was delicious! Some of the best Indian food I've had! I am delighted to have such a good Indian restaurant in Narberth. I can't wait to become a regular.

New Indian food king in town! The coconut nut naan they have is Bomb.com when paired with their butter chicken. Good service, but this is def a takeout place imo. Not a fan of the samosa chaat, but the samosas within were great and i'll just get the samosas next time.

The service was warm, attentive, and accommodating. The food is just spectacular! We had the samosa chaat, butter chicken, and saag paneer. All were excellent and tasted like tried and true family recipes. We can't wait to go back or try delivery/take-out.

My favorite food is curry, both homemade and from a restaurant. Up to now, I have been disappointed with most Main Line eateries in general and Curry Houses in particular. At last, I found an outstanding Curry Restaurant in Narberth. My meals have been so good that I have now shifted my dine-outs exclusively to Srinagar. On one occasion, I had a really spicy Lamb Chettinad, while my companion, who does not care for spicy food had a mild curried Salmon. We were both delighted with our meals. The owners are Nepalese gentlemen, who run an immaculate, small operation in the food mecca in Narberth. A welcome addition that tops the other eight eateries nearby. The variety of foods available in this small area is outstanding. However, not all are as good as this one. Jack F

We've tried a great number of entrees and appetizers, and it's all delicious, and the service is terrific. They are a welcome addition to our town.
