"After the evening Paoli-Thorndale trains stop at Narberth, a handful of smart commuters go directly around the corner to Srinigar for their take-out orders of comforting butter chicken, garlic naan, and mango lassis. While those may be the best selling items, the aromatic biryani or spicy hakka-style noodle dishes are also worth the stop. Don’t let the lackluster dining room fool you—the service is friendly, the food is fresh, and it’s a welcome, flavorful addition to Narbeth’s tiny restaurant row. We like all the breads and anything in a rich sauce, like the saag paneer and malai kofta. The tandoor dishes tend to be overcooked and under-browned so are less compelling. BYOB for a relaxed family dinner or weeknight date, or start perfecting a takeout order of your own. Like much of the menu, it is rich with Northern-Indian style cream sauce, but the tomato and aroma of toasted spices offset the heaviness with freshness. This is a must-order to share. Hakka Noodles Too few Philly restaurants lean into Indo-Chinese dishes.
