Best Views at NYC Restaurants | Eater NY

"It makes sense that there are a ton of Times Square hotel restaurants and bars with beautiful vistas. The latest is the Knickerbocker Hotel’s rooftop lounge and sushi restaurant, heralded by notable chef Charlie Palmer. The first is St. Cloud Rooftop with cocktails and snacks, and its alfresco patio overlooking the tall Midtown buildings. Then there’s Akoya, its tucked-away restaurant centered on well-crafted temaki." - Nadia Chaudhury

Where to Drink Double Magnums of Bordeaux in NYC | Eater

"While New Yorkers generally try to stay away from the chaos of Times Square, we have nothing against looking down at it from the St. Cloud Rooftop Lounge within the Knickerbocker Hotel. It’s an ideal place to take out-of-towners. They can cross Times Square off their bucket list, and you’ll be 17 floors from the fray. If they weren’t already impressed by the if-you-know-you-know rooftop, they’ll be floored with the by-the-glass double magnum pours of Château de Parenchère “Raphaël” 2018. Tom Gundersen of the Knickerbocker suggests pairing the wine with their short rib empanadas with cilantro aioli and charred pineapple-habanero salsa — but we suggest adding their cheese and charcuterie board to your bar order as well." - Lee Musho

The Knickerbocker Hotel

"Start us off with an overview. Times Square hustles and bustles right outside the doors of this national historic landmark Beaux Arts building, but once you’re inside this sanctuary, you’d never know. First opened in 1906, “The Knick” is something of a hallowed ground for lovers of hotel history. It was the brainchild of millionaire John Jacob Astor IV, who also owned the Waldorf-Astoria (and later died aboard the Titanic). Said to be the birthplace of the martini, the hotel was a favorite of the city’s elite and celebrated until it closed in 1921 and was turned into offices. Following extensive renovations, it was re-opened as a hotel in 2015 under its original name, complete with doormen sporting knickerbockers and dotted with subtle retro flourishes. Who's staying here? A low-profile mix of travelers who value both the convenience of the Times Square location and a refined, Leading Hotels of the World experience. Tell us everything we need to know about the rooms. All rooms feel spacious and sleek, thanks to 12-foot ceilings, six-foot-high windows, custom lighting and furnishings, and gleaming wood finishes. Cushy Euro-top beds are made even more luxurious with SFERRA linens and Ploh feather pillows, while oversized bathrooms come with Diptyque amenities, Turkish cotton towels and robes, back-lit mirrors, and walk-in rain showers or, in some rooms, tubs. Food and drinks: What's on offer at this hotel? In the morning grab coffee, fresh baked goods, and light bites at the barrel-ceilinged, marble-lined Jake’s Coffee. Enjoy the rest of your meals at Charlie Palmer at The Knick. The hotel's restaurant features the noted chef/restauranteur's signatures like fried chicken and pan-seared scallops, as well as wine pairing tasting menus, pre-theater menus, and popular power lunches. If you're drinking (heck, even if you aren't) the St. Cloud rooftop bar has extensive indoor and outdoor seating—including “sky pods” that overlook Times Square (a prime ticket for New Year’s Eve) and more importantly, stellar views. Anything we missed? The pet-friendly hotel offers valet parking and special kids’ amenities, has a 24-hour fitness center, and treats guests to unique perks like priority reservations at the nearby Charlie Palmer Steak, and long-term wardrobe storage for repeat visitors. What's the bottom line? A serene spot to escape the Times Square fray, but still be in the heart of it all." - Sandra Ramani

We stopped by ST Cloud Rooftop just for a casual drink before our evening plans and honestly, what a pleasant surprise. The place is elegant yet laid-back, with a beautiful view right in the heart of Times Square. Great atmosphere, soft music, and perfect for a good conversation. The servers were super friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. Loved the vibe. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Went for a drink with coworkers since this rooftop is right in front of our office. You need a reservation to sit at a table but we were able to just stand at the bar. The outdoor space is a bit small and narrow. The drinks are pricey as expected for a rooftop bar. We got a couple of beers, old fashioned and espresso martinis. They tasted fine. The views aren’t that great since it’s just facing taller buildings.

The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful but the rooftop is really worth checking out. The view is really amazing. The service here was great as well and the host and waitress were both great. But we came here to try the martini since it was invented here. And we tried different ones and they all were pretty bad. None of them tasted good and we had a dry martini, dirty Martina and espresso Martini. So I hope they have other drinks that are good but if they invented the martini here they didn’t do very well afterwards.

I recently visited this rooftop bar and overall had a pleasant experience. The cocktails were delicious, and since the weather was nice at first, it was very enjoyable to sit outside. However, when it started to rain, we had to move indoors. I understand that the sudden change in weather caused a bit of chaos, and the staff were clearly under pressure. Still, about 20 minutes after moving inside, I politely asked the bartender for some water and he responded quite rudely, telling me to wait without even making eye contact. After that, we were completely ignored. I totally get that things can get hectic in situations like that, but I had already waited a reasonable amount of time. His attitude seemed more about his own stress than the actual situation, which left a bad impression. Other than that, the place itself is lovely.

Got seated outside, as per request, after a pleasant and friendly elevator ride with the operator. The waitstaff then took 10-15 min to find us. After opening my card first, we ordered 2 drinks which also took a while to come, so we’re like 20-25 minutes in before we had our first drink. The waitress then told us she was going on break but another would be looking after us. The other never showed for a good 1/2 hr, 45 min. Just as i was about to go close my tab at the bar myself, a waitress appeared. By that time we had enough of being ignored, so I told her i wanted my check. She disappeared! About another 20 minutes in, I got up and closed my tab out with the bartender myself. On the way out we saw the 2nd waitress , at the inside bar, just getting our bill for us. She detained us till she determined if we paid our bill! That was the final straw! I won’t go back! It just “ain’t all that!”

The Knickerbocker is home to the original spot of the first martini! This bar is located within the hotel and has a gorgeous view right next to the most iconic ball drop on Earth. Drinks were delicious. If you've never been here you HAVE to visit when in town! Martini here is top tier.

Google
The location, view and atmosphere are amazing. We had a negative impression from the start as we had booked well in advance as we were coming for a special occasion from our of town and got told last minute our table was moved to the sushi section. We come from Vancouver which has great sushi so weren’t really keen on sushi in NY. I phoned and basically got attitude and not really much in way of apology for the inconvenience. Given how late it was and the view, we still went and loved the atmosphere and view; however, we were served bad fish- and we had to send it back. It didn’t taste fresh and was off. Very disappointing. Cocktail was ok.

Yelp
From the hosted welcoming you to the waitress great service and to the drinks I truly enjoyed this rooftop! I highly recommend it very cozy, great views, and great service over all.

Yelp
We walked in on a cold Thursday evening in January, and unsurprisingly, we were the only ones there (understandable, given the freezing temps and the fact that it was only 5 PM). That being said, the cocktails were really good--maybe a bit on the pricey side, but hey, it's Times Square. The service, however, was a bit of a mixed bag. We tried to strike up some friendly banter with our server (as we usually do), but she didn't exactly pass the vibe check. She did bring us our food, though, so there's that. Considering we were the only customers in the place, we were a little surprised she didn't check in more often. At one point, I had to get up and walk over to the bar just to ask for a glass of water--kind of awkward, but the bartender was super nice and handed it over. As for the food: my fiancé ordered the lobster rolls, which she did enjoy, but our server only asked how everything was AFTER she'd finished them/when she came to bus the table (A little late for that check-in). To be fair, the server was nice--just not the most attentive, which was a bummer. We were hoping to sit outside, but the patio was closed due to the weather--no surprise there, we totally get it. The ambiance inside is lovely, though, and I can imagine the patio is beautiful when it's open. All in all, it was a decent experience, but unless someone specifically invited me, I probably wouldn't make a return trip on my own.

Yelp
Came for drinks with a friend before seeing a Broadway show. Very sleek bar with plenty of seating options. Staff was very friendly. The big wow is the outdoor roof space over looking Times Square, but it was a little too cold to sit out there even with heaters and blankets (which they had available). Drinks were great, and prices aren't bad for a hotel in midtown!

Yelp
Our first question was could my grandson (age 1) come in and the concierge said absolutely! What a fun rooftop bar. We started inside but chose to enjoy the view outside too! Our server was darling and made good suggestions. I went with the Miss Pavlova bc the grapefruit sounded so good. Fabulous choice!

Yelp
Ordered: Cent'Anni (~$27): Baileys, Malfy gin, coffee, vanilla, petit four La Fete (~$25): Grey Goose strawberry & lemongrass, lime juice, triple sec, strawberry Aya's take: St. Cloud is a rooftop bar located right off of Times Square. We had an hour to kill and found ourselves here for a quick drink. The rooftop itself is pretty standard, not too much focus on the decor or ambiance otherwise. The Cent'Anni has to be one of the most expensive cocktails I've had in NYC. It was essentially a twist on an espresso martini. I enjoyed it a lot, actually. The La Fete was way too sweet for my liking and had an artificial flavor to it. Nice, chill spot to grab a drink but this wouldn't be one of my favorite rooftops.

Yelp
Convenient location in the heart of Times Square. This is an easy spot to get in on a weeknight for after work happy hour. We stopped by towards the end of the week and there was no wait. This is located inside of the Knickerbocker Hotel. Just head up the elevator to the rooftop and a hostess will lead you to seating. On a nice day, the rooftop is the place to be. Given that it is on the corner of 42nd & Broadway you are in the heart of the action. There is no "view" per se other than surrounding office buildings. You may view the NYE ball from there as that building is adjacent to the rooftop. However, all the noise from street performers, traffic, and Times Square action probably travels up the later it gets. At 5:30-6pm it wasn't too bad, and they had a DJ playing light music. Service was good & fast. Ordered the Sakura Old Fashioned ($27), which I thought was very pricey for what it was. Places that charge close to $30 for a cocktail usually look or taste unique. The cocktail comes with a pink cotton candy top (perhaps meant to look like a cloud), which you mix into the drink. This makes the basic Old Fashioned overly sweet. Even the mocktails around $19 I thought were pricey. I guess you really pay for location but spending this much I rather go to a fancy cocktail bar.

Yelp
I had a nice time visiting this sky bar located in the Knickerbocker hotel. The views are spectacular and the cocktails were excellent too. This is a great place where you can see the ball drop on New Years. I look forward to visiting again. The manager and staff are very good.

Yelp
The service is amazing and the views are stunning. Rooftop can be chilly but they have blankets and heaters. It's really quiet for being in the city and it's so beautiful at night. Would love to come here with an even larger group of friends. Drinks and food are pricey but worth it for the views and the ambiance.

Yelp
A rooftop overlooking the New Year's Eve Ball? Yes please. So so cool. This bar sits atop the incredible and historic Knickerbocker Hotel, built by John Jacob Astor. A true blue blood who understood luxury. I mean, there is a Waterford Lounge ... as in sponsored by the venerable crystal company... inside the bar. My favorite is the original copper wrapping the top of the building. It is a work of art. Seating is first come first served.

Holly M.

Yelp
Cool bar with open air rooftop garden vibes and a great view of times square. Fun atmosphere

Yelp
What a beautiful place. Great rooftop bar. Very peaceful. Has great food and drinks. The tour of New York included 5 beers. Made for a great sampling of some different local breweries.

Yelp
A pretty decent rooftop bar in the middle of Times Square. Prices were definitely higher than other NY bars, but I think part of it is paying for the view. Drinks were okay, as they didn't seem like it had much alcohol considering how they were on the pricier side.. The vibe and views were decent. It started to drizzle a little when I was there, and we weren't able to get a table inside so we were seated by the bar. The bartender was fun to talk to, but our servers didn't really check up on us during the night. So whenever we wanted to order a new drink or get the check or whatever, it was a bit hard. I would probably just come back for the view, maybe?, and just order one drink next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Location location location! This roof top bar in The Knickerbocker hotel, is in a great location near Times Square. And you will pay more for everything because of that location. The specialty drinks are expensive ($24 each) but classic drinks (ie: a rum & coke or a gin & tonic) were more reasonable at around $18-19). We had chips & guac one evening, and they were good but way over priced. I loved the comfy couches, blankets, and heaters set up all around the outside section. Service was attentive and had helpful suggestions about the menu.
google avatar

Camelis N.

Yelp
Super cute little rooftop bar in the heart of Times Square! Pricey, but that's to be expected due to the location. We had a few of their drinks which were all pretty good! Our server Elizabeth was phenomenal! She had great recommendations and even switched out our drinks when they didn't meet our expectations. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because they should have stronger heaters considering they are open year round. Great place nonetheless!
google avatar

Bill Z.

Yelp
The rooftop bar here is evidently the place to be on New Year's Eve if you have warm clothing and discretionary income, as you have an unobstructed view of the ball dropping. The rest of the time, be content to sit outside in nice weather knowing that you can still see the ball as it's resting, while you're sitting on reasonably comfortable seats and sofas while enjoying your drinks and not necessarily enjoying the occasional bee or the bright sun when it's not behind a nearby skyscraper. If you don't want to sit outside, or the weather prevents it, you have several options inside, including the bar, tables in front of it, and a back room. I thought that for what you paid, the drinks were okay. Service was fine, and our drinks came out quickly. But those square toilet seats in the men's room are different.

Yelp
Tell all the truths, shame them devils: I was extremely fortunate to have experienced St. Cloud on my company's dime and time. That shared? I enjoyed myself so much that I will be back on my own dime and time (updating this here two-cents what not if the individual experience differs). I'm not sure that it makes sense to go through all the food items we had since they differed from the main menu. But everything we ate was good to great, with the tuna tartare being the standout (I'm still thinking about that gorgeousness). The drinks were phenomenal throughout the entire three hours I was there. I started by pointing to the Whitney Neill Rhubarb & Ginger and saying, "That, please. Strong yet balanced." I have no idea what I was handed but it was as if the bartender telepathically slipped inside my skull and extracted a recipe designed for my exact tastes and current mood. The Hendricks Martini that followed was expertly crafted (with a proper twist made fresh and used to flavor before garnishing the rim) as were the next two drinks which I enjoyed before smartly collecting my belongings from bag check (super smooth process). The elevators are spacious. The views are grand. We split the rooftop with another private party and there was so much space that we never experienced overlap and both parties seemed to have a grand ole time. The later you stay into the night, the more chic the crowd becomes. But unlike some other higher end rooftop bars I've been to all the vibes flowed. Clearly I'm a fan. When we rollin' up next, y'all?!

Rachel F.

Yelp
If you're looking to book a corporate holiday party of 15 people and want to your reservation cancelled the day of without any warning or explanation, this is the place for you! I've never experienced a more unprofessional event space in my life and they clearly don't know how to run a business. Not to mention the difficult situation they put me in with my management. I still have yet to receive a call or email from them as to why this happened, along with how they plan on compensating me for their major error. Shame on you St. Cloud team.

Yelp
Checked resy app and saw there were reservations available so decided to get drinks since we were staying at the hotel. When we arrived we told attendant that we did not have reservations. He told us that he will sit us soon if we would like to wait at inside bar. We waited at bar for 30 minutes and he never sat us. While seated at bar near entrance we noticed 3 different groups arrive without reservations and he sat them right away in the same location we wanted to be seated at. I spoke to the attendant again and he never sat us so we just got up and left. Bartender inside was great but attendant at front ruined our experience. May 4th 2024 at 8pm.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night expense was truly enjoyable even though I was 45 minutes late.. Marsha Took care of us and made sure that we still got a table even though they gave mine up. The service was really good.. a little disappointed in the food because there are no entrées, but the drinks were good and the views were spectacular. Definitely will come again....

Yelp
A really nice rooftop to hang out with friends! Came here for a work happy hour and we were seated almost immediately on a Wednesday evening. Loved the string lights and the garden wall. Nice views as well. I didn't love the drink I ordered and the guacamole and chips we got were just average so I'd rate ambience a 5 and the actual drinks and food a 3 (given the price for what you get). So if I could give half stars I'd up this to a 3.5. Solid spot to check out if in midtown though.
google avatar

Yelp
This is an awesome rooftop to grab an after office drink. It tends to be a bit on the pricey side depending on what your liquor of choice is, but every drink I had was perfectly made and had me coming back for more. The best part about this bar is that you feel like you're in a Cloud! It feels like you've been transported out of midtown Manhattan and into and sanctuary that overlooks the famous NYE ball. I will definitely be bringing and work colleagues and clients here in the future. If you have a big group, make sure to make a reservation as the space can really fill up quickly!
google avatar

Maranda N.

Yelp
While the rooftop restaurant is in a prime location in the city, keep in mind that there isn't much of a view. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable, with comfortable seats and couches available and the one of the best DJs and music playlists that I've heard in the city. The food took quite a while to come (maybe around 15-20 minutes) even though we didn't order too many things, but it was delicious. I would go back for the open ambiance and great music but not for the view.
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Great rooftop for the view! The decor is really nice up there and the lights were beautiful. Outside, they have blankets and heaters to keep you warm. We did not have the best service, our waitress seemed to be annoyed to be out on the roof, was slow, and a little rude however we still over tipped because it's hard for workers right now. Drinks are around $25 which is very steep especially when they are not strong just pretty. It's absolutely worth checking out the view and maybe having 1 pricey drink with the experience.

Tiffany Q.

Yelp
The food was good, but I would say the service was bad--it took an hour for them to take our order. The ambiance was alright...a little empty though.

Yelp
Its an awesome place in Times Square area if you are looking for a great rooftop bar. It has great location, just off of Times Square . Cocktails are great and and so is food. We tried their Hummus and Pita which was awesome. Drinks were balanced yet strong Service was on point. TYRA our server was great. Had great smile and was very attentive. She made sure we had great service and great time. This place is kids friendly, so don't worry if you plan to visit with family like me. My daughter loved their non alcoholic drinks. A must place to visit if you planning to go rooftop in Manhattan.
google avatar

Stacey K.

Yelp
This was a really cool experience but it's quite pricey. The total for 2 drinks came out to be around $60. While the drinks were really good, I don't think they were $25 worth. The reason to come here though is the view and the decor! The view is a very nice one where you can see many buildings and lights. The inside and outside are decorated very well and luxuriously. Outside, there are heat lamps and sofas. We were also brought a blanket. However, the night we went was super super cold so we moved inside to the lounge area where we could still see the view from outside the door. Some people who have a better tolerance for cold were still outside and taking pictures. This is a nice spot to go for tourists if you are willing to shell out some $. But overall, it's a really cool experience and I'm glad I went once! If you are looking for a rooftop experience, this one is a great one (especially if it's not too cold). Drink I got was the Lilly Blue and I really enjoyed it. It was sweet and fruity with berries in it.

Yelp
I celebrated a friend's birthday at this lovely rooftop bar connected to the Knickerbocker Hotel. The view is just okay. It does boast a close up of the famous Times Square NYE ball and buildings surrounding it. At night the view is prettier due to the colorful lights and the rooftop has fairy lights strung above us. There are also walls of faux foliage walls with red flowers all around which made for great photo ops! My friends and I were situated at a table with comfortable sofa booth seats with pillows. The staff brought out additional chairs when more people arrived. We ordered the Charcuterie Board ($24), which included a ton of cured meats: Prosciutto, soppresata (dry salami) and finocchiona (fennel salami), along with Vermont cheese, crackers, olives and marcona almonds. While I appreciated that there was plenty of meat, the board only came with 2 measly pieces of cheese and a handful of crackers. It was definitely not enough to go around. However, all the meat was really tasty and flavorful. Others ordered ceviche, short rib sliders and yuca fries with garlic aioli. I only tried some of the yuca fries, which were crispy, light and delicious. I also got to try the 2 types of dessert the rooftop offered: Coconut Panna Cotta and Mango Mint Sorbet. I preferred the coconut panna cotta, which was incredibly smooth with the delicate and beautiful flavor of coconut. The mango one was nice and sweet, but didn't really have mint taste to it. The service was lackluster. The waitresses did come by but they were not attentive to our needs and took awhile to place orders. Whenever new people joined us, we couldnt find anyone to take their order. At one point, one of my friends had to get up and track down the waitress herself just to order another dish to eat. While I had a great time with friends here, I do not think I will be returning. The view was not that spectacular, service was poor and the food was mediocre, yet expensive.

Gina Z.

Yelp
Fantastic place and vibe,. Drinks aren't too overpiced and the charcuterie board we had was great...a little small for the price but still fantastic. We would definitely go back there! The service was great and they were super nice and helpful with drink selections. You do have to go up to the bar to order but it wasn;t an issue at all. I actually kind of liked it better that way so there were less interruptions! :) If you're on the fence about bars in times square or midtown, JUST GO! youll be happy you did!

Omar F.

Yelp
Beautiful views of NY, had a fun time with friends while visiting from Cali. Service was really good and would definitely go again.

Monse M.

Yelp
This place was a nice place for a drink. I was happy the rooftop was open when we arrived around 9:30 PM. The drinks just like everywhere in NYC are pricey. The service wasn't great. We sat down on the couches outside and a waitress never came to take our order when we were told we would have someone get our drink order. We had to go up to the bar and order from there. But other than that, a good rooftop spot and good ambiance.

Ami A.

Yelp
Terrible, rude service and management. First, even though there were hardly any patrons in the bar, our orders weren't taken for over 30 minutes. Then, as we were finishing our first round of drinks, the host comes announces last call. We order another round, and the host says she's can't take the order (which just take them at this point). The server then comes by takes our order. And within 5 minutes of ordering, the manager comes to tell us the bar is closing and we have to leave soon. WHY would this bar prompt us to order for last call, then within 5 minutes ask us to leave? At least have the courtesy to let us peacefully finish our drinks. We mentioned this concern to the manager, and he said he would give us the time. However, the manager most certainly did not. We were asked to leave within minutes. Finally, as we were heading out there was another group being escorted out. The other group got into the elevator, and the manager said to us, "the elevator's open, get in," quite rudely. I wish I could give this bar 0 stars.

Yelp
Great view, decent service, overpriced drinks. When ordering standard cocktails they bring and charge for top shelf liquor without asking.

Jadyn M.

Yelp
We showed up at 8:10 asking for a 5-top, and were given an estimate of 15 minutes. Shortly after us, a 5-top was seated. Then the hostess told us she had forgotten about us, and asked how many of us there were. We reminded her, 5 people. We then proceeded to wait for a total of 45 minutes, with no table. While we waited, we heard her quote a 20-minute wait to a two-top when there were 7 two-tops waiting ahead of them and only 2 two-top tables that hadn't been recently seated. At one point, there were two open tables next to each other that could have easily been pushed together for us, but she sat other two-tops.

Yelp
Amazing "everything" Every time we come to this place, we enjoy so much! Never getting tired of it

Yelp
This place is great for it's roof to bar. I didn't even know this place existed but I was invited to join some friends. On Thursday evening in early June, weather was fair. Got there at 10pm, there was a nice size of folks outside. Inside was pretty empty. I did have a meal inside. The pork (?) slider. Can I say FLAVORLESS!! Just a shame. Based on that, I would not recommend to eat here. Pros- The lady DJ that night was turning out some great caribbean tunes. She leaves at 11pm I think but she was on point! Not sure if she is there on other nights or stays later. We had sat outside in a nice enclosed area, and we had the nicest waitress serve us. Forgot her name but she def added to our good time there. I would recommend this place for drinks. Location is close to many train lines.

Yelp
I wish we would find it earlier! Views - amazing, drinks - amazing, atmosphere - amazing. We want to come back before going home to try food. Little heaters throughout the outside, nice areas for private get together.

Yelp
Awesome rooftop to check out if you are in the area. I came here on a Saturday early evening and the place was not too busy. Ordered a couple of beers and drank it outside. Nice views of Times Square as well as seeing the infamous ball used as count down for NEw Years. Regular beers are approx. $11 each, cocktails range from $15 onwards. Entrance to the bar is via hotel lobby, the elevator will take you straight up to the bar. Great spot to take out visitors to, away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square yet still so close.

Yelp
Although the drinks are a bit pricey, I found this bar to be a great rooftop bar in the Times Square Area. It has both an indoor and outdoor area with a lot of seats and tables all round. It also has a bar both indoors and outdoors which is more convenient compared to other bars in the area. My friend had set up a surprise birthday celebration for her boyfriend here and it worked out spectacularly. We got a great outdoor space for about 12-15 people, plenty of table space and seats. The area also felt so private and intimate as she had reserved it ahead of time and was able to grab this wonderful space. Great for a friend gathering for sure. We had a waitress that took our orders and was attentive although turnaround of drinks was a little slow. As for the drinks, although the pricing was quite up there, average $18, it was really quite delicious. I didn't notice any strong taste of alcohol and the cocktails were really well put together. I think that is why I liked this bar more than others I have had experienced. Execution of the cocktails was very well done. Needless to say the cocktail did its job and did it really well. I tried the Spring Old Fashioned and the Aqueduct. Both were delicious, super refreshing from the fruit accents. Overall a good experience. Pricey for sure but if you are willing to pay, it hopefully won't disappoint.

Yelp
Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the views. Very nice location, great seating areas both inside and out. The drink menu is full of surprises and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend to stop by if in the Times Square area.

Yelp
Sorry, but I'm going to disappoint a few people with a great review. We stayed at the Knickerbocker for two nights in August. My entire experience there (including the rooftop bar) was nothing less than spectacular. We started inside the bar, had a drink there, then moved out, found a few people to chat with, listened to DJ and sat for a few hours enjoying the vibes from atop of the bar. I'm from Ohio, so I was surprised the charges were as low as they were for my drinks ($32) and I was drinking Kettle One. I had no problems getting a drink on a Friday night. We were there from 7-12pm. My friend was upset when they wouldn't let her bring a pizza she ordered up there, but I completely understand....I can't imagine if they did that for everyone. It would be trashed in 10 seconds. The view is spectacular. You are literally sitting in the middle of Time's Square with the ball in front of you. I don't care if I can't see over the other buildings. I was there for the atmosphere, not to see the Skyline.

Yelp
Having heard a lot about the view from this bar, we were excited to try it out. Unfortunately it was pouring that evening so we didn't get the "full experience". Nonetheless you could still see much of the Times Square buildings through their glass ceiling, which is a pretty incredible sight. They weren't particularly busy on a Friday night, with some groups here and there. They have plenty of seating outside, and some high tables and a lounge area towards the back. our 4 drinks totaled to $60+ which is expensive for what it was. Though the view was wonderful, it just doesn't compensate for the price tag.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon this gorgeous rooftop bar during our walk through Time Square. The three stars are strictly for the atmosphere and NOT the service. The rooftop closes at 1am and we arrived around 12:15am. I get it, we arrived late but the bar was open for another 45min. We were blatantly ignored for 15min as the wait staff serviced other patrons around us and walked right past us. We were never acknowledged so my husband finally went to the bar to get our drinks. As I said, the atmosphere was very cute and quaint. Seemed like we were in a little garden over looking Times Square. There was plenty of lounge seating for both big and small groups to gather. I would come back just based on the atmosphere and hope we get better service.

Yelp
I sat at the inside bar for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged. I thought I was invisible. No "Hi" no offer of water, nothing. I felt pretty bad after leaving because my existence just was completely ignored. Btw, I'm a Black woman, not sure if that had anything to do with it, but wouldn't be surprised.

Yelp
Rude staff (especially outside hostess), disgusting bar and bathrooms, overpriced food and mediocre views. I guess if it wasn't for tourists this place would've closed a long time ago
