The 9 Best Doughnuts In London - London - The Infatuation

"Order this: The strawberry jam classic. St. John’s doughnuts are the Chanel suit of the London doughnut world. Both are intrinsically classy and will never go out of style. When it comes to fillings, this Covent Garden bakery—tied to the legendary British restaurant of the same name—has got you covered with chocolate, vanilla custard, and our, personal favourite, strawberry jam. Because we all know that you can’t beat a classic. You can also find the top-tier doughnuts on the counter at their Spitalfields restaurant, and at their bakeries in Borough and on Druid Street." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Rianne Shlebak

The Best Outdoor Restaurants In Covent Garden

"St. John’s Neal’s Yard bakery isn’t a wine and dine affair—there are a couple of benches outside for you to sit down and have a tender moment with your raspberry doughnut or egg sandwich—but that doesn’t make it any less useful in an area severely lacking in top-tier grab and go options. The treats are more sweet than savoury and it’s perfect for a doughy midafternoon pick-me-up." - team infatuation

Google
Is a small wine shop-bakery where you can find delicious pastries, and even a cup of coffee. The staff is polite and kind, and gave us useful and interesting advice about their products. Thank you very much, and we will definitely be back! Ohhh .. the vanilla cream donuts completely won us over. I recommend you try them :) they are delicious and you can enjoy them outside on the wooden benches, in an quiet and peaceful atmosphere .. we love it Thank you!

Google
The best vanilla doughnut I’ve ever had in the classic and colorful Neal’s Yard. This is my second time here: two years ago I came because I had heard the doughnuts were good, and I’ve thought about them every time I have had anything with vanilla cream since. Great to be back.

Cinnamon bun, croissant and lattes/cappuccinos were excellent! Will be back to try doughnuts for sure. Service also super nice!

Amazing and light doughnuts, the jam one in particular was the best I have ever tried!

Let’s be clear, you’re coming for the doughnut. I had a chocolate filled doughnut this morning, and it’s DECADENT and DELICIOUS. Much more semi-sweet than milk chocolate as it pertains to the filling, which is a great offset to the sugary coating of the doughnut itself. If you’re a doughnut fan, it’s a definite.

Google
Excellent bakery and some of the best doughnuts in London. I always go for the classics, either the vanilla or chocolate custard doughnuts! Perfect as a treat or as gifts! I’m not as much a fan of their sourdough though, seems like it was too hard for my liking!

Google
I’ve been coming here since the shop opened, and although I am convinced the doughnuts weren’t what they used to be, they are still amongst the best offered in town. The doughnut filling is the crème of the crop. It is rich and smooth, almost ice cream like. A bite into it is an indulgence to your senses. However, I find the dough to be somewhat inconsistent, sometimes it is soft, tangy and brioche-y, while sometimes it just tastes less fresh with a drier texture. In any case, I had way more enjoyable moments than not-so-enjoyable ones, so I’ll still continue to go back!

Yelp
My wife and I just stopped in to pickup up a couple of sandwiches. She had the egg sandwich, and I had the ham and mustard. Both were superb. The bread was fresh, the seasoning and taste were perfect. The food was simple, but so well done. Honestly it was so of the most delicious food we've had on our trip to London.

Yelp
We had what I'd consider a compot sufganiyot. It was a yeast doughnut covered in sugar and filled with a mixed berry filling. Super sweet and delicious. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Donut was absolutely delicious. The chocolate crème was very light and fluffy, and perfect sweetness and consistency. The gent at the counter was very nice.

Yelp
Jelly donut to go- yum! Tasted fresh and STUFFED with a not-too-sweet raspberry jelly. Enjoy!

Yelp
I was shopping around Covent Garden and wanted something sweet, and found St. John Bakery nestled in a cute little area surrounded by boutique shops and restaurants. The worker was very nice and patient, as I tend to take a while to *finally* decide on what pastry I would like to eat. I decided to go with the cinnamon bun, and it did, indeed, satisfy my sweet craving. It was flaky, covered in cinnamon sugar (but not too much), and just the right amount of sweet without being overbearing. Definitely would go again to try some of the other pastries!

Yelp
Eccles...yummy mince pie type of bread that is sticky, crumbly, and filled with fruity goodness. Paired with great coffee or tea and you know this place is amazing.

Yelp
Excellent pastries. Had the Pian au Raisin. It was just about perfect. Also bought the raisin loaf to take home. It was really nice. Great for toasts.

Yelp
Cutest little bakery tucked away with amazing sweets! Really helpful worker as well! Loved the chocolate donut and the Cinnamon Rum Roll (?). Will definitely be stopping back!
