I wanted to take my boyfriend here because I’ve lived here in Sunnyvale and St. John’s has always been a great place for food and drink drinks. Well A lot has changed, especially the prices. All this for $82 My Caesar salad, the dressing was awful. It was so sour. I try to put some ranch dressing in it make it better it didn’t. And They really are a little stingy with their ranch dressing I ate the chicken that was it my boyfriend enjoyed his bacon Swiss cheeseburger, the onion rings Were OK the fries were so salty. Too bad I Probably won’t ever come back.

The food looked great and tasted fantastic. Our favorite appetizer has got to be the Bacon & Cheese Fries. You can easily share that plate with another person as a side for a main entree. We got cheeseburgers and every part of it was delicious. We went on a Saturday morning and the customers started picking up as soon as they opened. The place is very clean and organized and the inside was easy to navigate especially for newcomers. The establishment also contains a bar, however the place seems to be very much family friendly and welcomes all of any age. I would highly recommend checking them out for their delicious, and reasonably priced food. They certainly live up to their "best burgers in town" sign!

Great atmosphere and service. The guac burger and garlic fries were awesome.

Google
Solid spot with good burgers. The salad is okay and the fries are good. Nice selection of ketchups, I like the chipotle and curry ketchup. Spicy burger was good and the outdoor patio is nice on a sunny day.

Came here for the first time with my coworkers. I can tell you that the food was delicious. Ordering the food went pretty quickly and we didn’t have to wait much for our food to be done. They have a bar for those who love to drink. You get a pretty good amount of food, I didn’t get to finish it all but the food I got was pretty delicious.

Google
I've been going here since college. Still the best burgers in the Bay area. Hands down the best French fries I've ever had. Nothing better than watching the game with a beer and basket of fries. One thing I wished they would bring back are the daily specials.

Google
Cool vibe, lots of room for groups, full bar. The Philly Cheese Steak is just ok, does not comes with fries ($16 + $5). Kids burger was ok, kids grilled cheese was good. On the higher spectrum of pricing. Odd observation, Only 1 stall in the men's bathroom for a restaurant with a capacity of 190.

It is sad to see St. John's 1/2 empty on a Saturday during lunchtime. The last time I came here was before the pandemic. The routine was, we used to walk around Fry's Electronics and then have lunch here. I remember, it was hard to get a table, let alone one near a TV. So much has changed since then. The food remains good. My lunch today was a blue cheese burger $13.50 and garlic fries $7.50. Wonderful flavors. That dipping sauce station with the curry ketchup and yellow sauce is bomb. Although there are many new faces, the workers are still friendly. I'm not sure why St. John's isn't busier. Maybe it's because the daily specials are gone. Those were awesome and we would come on different days of the week to take advantage of them. Burger day was Saturdays!

Yelp
Love this place so much! The food is always hot and fresh! Service is always quick and chill. I love that they have a patio for your furry friend. Garlic fries and poppers are a must! Love their grilled cheese too! They are closed on Sunday and Monday though!

Yelp
Have heard so much about this place and read the reviews, so I was excited to try the best burgers in the area. After a long day at Great America decided to check it out. Has a bar area with craft beers on tap and it's a great place to watch any games if your sports fan. TV's all throughout the place and has outdoor seating as well. People were friendly, but was really disappointed with the food. What we ordered: Hickory Burger: Way too much mayonnaise on the bun, patty was seasoned very well, but the burger was very soggy from the bbq sauce. Took one bite and my burger broke lol. Overall ok. Buffalo wings: Wings were a bit overcooked and were too crunchy. They did provide us a lot of ranch, but the sauce on it was a bit overcooked powering. Not my favorite. Basket of Fries: The best thing ordered. They were crispy and really good. Great spot to check out if you're in the Santa Clara area, but not a place I'd go out of my way for if I'm carving a burger.

Yelp
I haven't been here in decades, but no matter. It seems to be closed Mondays and no longer has daily specials, but it is still absolutely worth visiting. I am happy to be here and to see it still in business! The fries are delicious and the curry catsup is addictive. The booths are cozy and the food is good (basic dishes like burgers, etc).

Yelp
St. John's Bar and Grill has been a classic spot for years. Tuesday's is Tri-Tip Tuesdays, but I always end up getting the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. I got the combo Philly, which comes with mushrooms and peppers. Each sandwich comes with plain Lays potato chips on the side. The ladies at the front counter who take your order are always so nice and sweet. With the Summer coming up, their front patio area is a great place to eat your food at.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner, and there was plenty of seating available. You order at the counter inside and they are very fast with getting you your food. We chose to sit in the patio outside, where there were also TVs stationed to watch sports. I got their cheeseburger, and it was good! I really loved the sharp crunch of their pickles. A very solid, sturdy burger. They come with mayonnaise, which I found interesting. They have a wide variety of burgers and other meals available, and I'd love to come back to try them!
google avatar

Deanna Y.

Yelp
Hadn't dined here in 10-15 years. Joined some coworkers after work this Wednesday. Shared onion rings, fries and buffalo wings with a friend. Onion rings- good but batter a little too thick imo Fries - crispy and tasty buffalo wings - typical flavor but chicken was quite dry - comes with celery Cheesesteak - coworker got this and said was too salty and seasoning was too strong Overall, typical drinking food but nothing special. You order/pay first and get a buzzer. Seat yourself. Huge parking lot

Yelp
We had a group of six going to Top Golf, and we found St. John's on Yelp. It's in a strip mall that seems a little run down. But, parking was easy. The Warriors were playing so the place was very busy and it seemed to be a lot of regulars. The process is stand in line, order, take a number, and food is delivered to the table. The food was great! We had burgers, salads, and chicken sandwiches. Burgers were large! The curry and chipotle ketchups were nice additions. The beers included several local breweries: well done. When looking for a casual burger or pub, it's a great spot. We will definitely add this to our list of go-to places.

Yelp
The Cajun cheese steak is an incredibly tasty treat! Pair it with the best garlic fries you've ever tried and a pump of one of their yummy sauces, and you've got yourself a seriously tasty meal! Let's not forget about the great draft beer selection including pliney the elder from Russian river! The beer menu is extensive and has something for everyone! Lot's of local favorites. The atmosphere here is just what one would expect for a proper bar & grill. Hardwood walls and columns, dark(ish) booths, a nice outdoor area. They have got it all! I had a chance to frequent this place for a few months and I love it. It's like an oasis in an otherwise baren desert of food and fun. Give them a try!

Yelp
Theyre burger kings. Walking in check out the menu pay and grab your buzzer. Simple food made right. The only think was the wings are a miss . But the double cheese burger was so satisfying. Homemade sauces to compliment the savory burger.
google avatar

Miguel L.

Yelp
Way over due for our visit. Decided to go on Friday before the Mothers Day weekend and it was great. Not too busy. Plenty of seats and tables available. The parking was ok. A lot of different busnesses there in this plaza type of environment. I decided to try the Cajun Burger and a basket of fries and also a Cajun Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with a cold soda and it was splendid. It hit the spot.

Yelp
Decent burger spot in Sunnyvale. I used to go there frequently during the late 90s to late 00s. Their 1/2 off specials were a great bargain for a 99-Percenter like me. Burgers are still great, including the garlic fries. The prices have risen significantly over the years, but it's still affordable. Like Jeff h. said, it sad to see it empty on a Saturday. Prior to the pandemic, the waiting line used to stretch to the door. I walked right up the front on a Saturday evening. Although, there were times when it was super-busy that I wished it was shorter. All in all, still a good place to have a burger and brew and watch sports. I got to chop it with an old friend and during busier times it was a little hard to carry on a conversation. And yes, I will be back.

Yelp
Great low key place for dinner. Very casual. Order at the counter. Great classic burgers. Done perfectly with a nice crust. The onion rings were very good. Solid choice for dinner.
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
I love how the this restaurant is decorated. The walls, TV screens, and table setting gives very American vibes. Got a cheesesteak here and it came with a bag of chips. The sandwich is definitely shareable for two people if you get a side of fries of onion rings too!
google avatar

Draco L.

Yelp
I love this place! A friend introduced me to it earlier this year, and I've been back so many times since. My go to order is the Double Cheeseburger with a Basket of Onion Rings, but when I'm extra hungry, I'll go for The Big Daddy instead. The wait is never too long, and I like that every order comes with some chips on the side. The burgers are always nice and juicy, and the onion rings are delicious. The sauces here are pretty good too, I always get Honey Mustard. I'll definitely keep coming back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to frequent this place a lot in my youth. The burgers used to be good and the place was cool. We came to eat here last night and it was ok? I mistakingly ordered a cheesesteak and my wife got a burger. The garlic fries were just soggy fries with jarred garlic chunks thrown over it. The fried zucchini's were salty. My cheese steak wasn't anything special and the cheese was rock solid from the pickup counter to where we sat. I didn't have any beer but the menu looks well stacked. I guess it still a locals spot to say the least. I may or may not stumble back in one day. ‍

Yelp
We are watching the NCAA final four games here. It is a local favorite place. We ordered buffalo wings, fried calamari and drinks. The drinks are the best as they have a huge and awesome tap beer menu. The appetizers are ok (wings and calari). The service is mostly self help and locals love the ambient environment (regardless you are here to watch sports, hang out with friends or whatever)
google avatar

Guadalupe H.

Yelp
This place is awesome for friend and coworker get togethers. There is plenty of seating for large groups and the menu is pretty extensive. The service is kind and the food comes out pretty quickly! I recommend the Guac burger, onion rings and their delicious chipotle ketchup!
google avatar

Desirae P.

Yelp
Placement bad. Hometown bar and has a community vibe to it. Used to love the burgers but tbh the last time I went - not as good. Bun was soggy and the patty was lacking flavor and also sorely soggy. Fried such was decent and that's a go to for me anytime I see it on a menu. Overall decent but not a party for the tastebuds.
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
Loved the food, ease of ordering, and the environment. Great place to get a beer and watch a game. 10/10 and highly recommend.
google avatar

Mimi P.

Yelp
I often came here with friends when they had their weekly deals which they do not do anymore. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and also outdoor seating with shade. As for parking, it is located in a plaza which can be crowded but sometimes there is plenty of parking. For food, the quality is different from the previous years and the garlic fries' portion had too much garlic and less fries in it. The cheesesteak had flavor but lots of bread than meat. As for the burgers, they still taste filling and so good! I also ordered their sweet potato fries which were yummy too.
google avatar

Cherry H.

Yelp
I cannot resist ordering the Hickory or Guaco Bacon Burger whenever we stop by. Paired with a nice cold beer and garlic fries, the whole meal is complete. Nice place to watch hang out and for sports. Order at the counter and a buzzer is given to you to let you know when your food is ready.
google avatar

Basil N.

Yelp
St. John's is a walk up and order style of place, with plenty of seating. We tried a burger and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I found the burger disappointing even though this seemed like a burger place to me. The bun was cold and oversized for the burger, it just didn't work. The Philly was good and we had onion rings on the side that were good. Would I go again, yes, but I'm not jumping at the chance to go again.
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
Food here is always delicious. My go to is a burger with a roasted aanaheim chile & pepper jack cheese. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Lloyd C.

Yelp
St. John's is a good sports bar and depending on the sport and season, it can get super crowded! They have inside and outside dining options. Plenty of tvs to watch your favorite sport. The restaurant is decorated in a sports theme. The last time I went here, they used to have daily specials, like BOGO, half off sandwiches, etc. Unfortunately, they discontinued them. I didn't see the signage they used to have. Anyways, still delicious burgers. Patty Melt: 1/3 lb fresh ground chuck with grilled onions and cheddar cheese on toasted sliced sourdough. Small Side Of Our Just-Cut Fries. They do have new sauces for dipping or on your burger. For example, chipotle ketchup, curry ketchup, and honey mustard.
google avatar

Yuka Y.

Yelp
Food is amazing!! I usually get teriyaki burger with pineapple on the side. It reminds me of the teriyaki burger at japans McD's and that's a compliment. The restaurant is like old style bbq. Counter tops and plenty of seating. Cashiers always fast and nice

Yelp
Man o man I haven't been here in 25 years. I'm glad I was in the area to eat here again. I love there Cajun chicken sandwich and the fries. I could of at 5 of them.the rates went up since then but worth it. I'm ok paying alittle more if the food is good. If your in the Lawrence expressway Sunnyvale area give this place a try you won't regret it.

Yelp
With a group of six, heading to Top Golf, we found St. John's on Yelp and decided to visit. What a great place! We tried many things on the menu: burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, and fried zucchini. The line was 10 deep but it moved quickly. The place was packed for the Warriors game, and it was a fun, lively crowd. Food was delicious. It arrived quickly, especially for the size of the order. I was intrigued by the dangerously hot options but elected to compromise with adding the serrano peppers to a regular burger. Prices were extremely reasonable. The chipotle ketchup, while not rocket science to make, was a nice addition. The beer selection was great, and it included local, Bay Area breweries. Again, prices very reasonable. It was packed inside so we sat on the patio. The game was playing outside, too, so we had the benefit of fresh air, good food, and the Warriors. We have added St. John's to our list of key places to go.

Yelp
Super fast service! I like the setting here. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I wasn't feeling the most hungry and I had a bit of a headache, so I opted for a salad. I was very nervous because there were a handful of bad salad reviews. Southwest Chicken Salad - Chicken was NOT dry, so I really enjoyed that! Whatever sauce that is on the Southwest Chicken Salad was not memorable. And the salad was overall not that flavorful. The most flavorful part of the salad was the jicama, which was seasoned with Tajin. There were not many jicama bits. Maybe 3 total... Although the chicken was not flavorful, I think I would have been satisfied if there were just more corn, beans, and jicama. -1 more star down because I had to clean my cup haha. I asked the cashier for a water cup and he looked over to the two cups next to him... one looked used and the one I grabbed had a big pepper seed in it (or that's what it resembled) . Luckily, I am not a germaphobe so I just rinsed it out with water at the soda fountain. Not a good look for a restaurant though...

Yelp
I think this is more popular for its ambiance and vibe than the food. Lots of TV's with sports on. Tiny bar. Daily specials. Food looks great, but the flavors of burgers and sandwiches are just passable. Nothing special. I guess after a few beers, people rave about this place. I recommend eating here during the non-rush times because the sound level is more tolerable.
google avatar

Pheap S.

Yelp
The Hubby took me here for a daytime date. Because, we wanted to watch the Warriors game also. The burgers was amazing! Juicy and flavorful. Casual setting and they have outside seating too from what I saw. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Candice V.

Yelp
This is a solid spot for drinks and bar food! I love how easy it is to order. They have condiments easily accessible. We loved our burgers and chicken (thighs) and bacon burger. Onion rings are a must!!! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking was also easy.
google avatar

Josiah Z.

Yelp
Cajun Burger fixed my depression. Service was so sweet and recommended me the burger to try. Very quick service as well i may add. Nice local spot to try!
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Solid burger spot! St John has been around for decades but this was my first time trying it. You order at the register and seat yourself. Burgers range $13-$15 and come with a bag of Lays chips. Burger was tasty - I liked the potato bun, but I wish they would ask how to cook the meat as I thought mine was slightly well done. The garlic fries were really good and a big portion. The Buffalo wings were terrible though - do not order. Overall a great burger joint.
google avatar

Matthew W.

Yelp
Pretty good Ambiance; good place to hang out with friends. I wouldn't come here for great food, as the Burger is pretty average when compared to other burgers I order. Service was quick as well.
google avatar

Makena S.

Yelp
I want to love St. John's for the nostalgia but it keeps missing the mark lately. The food cooked on the griddle like cheesesteaks has a burnt flavor that comes from not cleaning it frequently. The fries, no matter which you order, are all tiny pieces now, almost as if it's always the bottom of the bag being emptied out. The chipotle ketchup is still good, though!

Yelp
Returned for the first time in many years. Here's what's different: staff is less friendly, no more half off deals apparently, and a lot less lively. Came around 9pm on a Friday night and was surprised to see how dead it was. I never seen it not bustling and popping. Walk up to counter to counter. I asked the cashier what the difference between the regular cheeseburger and the old school classic cheeseburger was. He said the regular has thousand island and grilled onions, and the old school class has Mayo and raw onion. DON'T listen to this because after checking tell Yelp, I confirmed that he mixed up his explanation for me. It is the other way around: old school classic has the thousand island and grilled onions. Since he mixed up his explanation, my partner and I did not get to order the burgers we truly wanted-- and the cashier did see us confirm with each other that we both wanted the one with the thousand island. On top of this he also answered my questions very impatiently and with a little attitude which did not make me feel good. Given a pager and pick up food to the right of the cashier. The employee putting out the food completely ignored me when I smiled and said hello. Onto the actual food. Cheeseburger: around $12.50. comes with complimentary tiny bag of original Lays. Initially very disappointed about not getting the burger I wanted. Didn't bother mentioning it to them because I was already put off by the service and didn't want to talk to them anymore, and I was ready to eat. I still very much enjoyed my burger. The first bite was so satisfying. The patty was meaty, juicy, and flavorful. Cheese perfectly melted. Very strong burger. Garlic fries: $7.50. thick cut. very strong in garlic flavor. Nice crunch when still hot. Fries were nice but I wouldn't bother ordering these again. Fountain pepsi: $2.50. For some reason the fountain pepsi here is so good! Never enjoyed a fountain drink as much as this one before. + Plenty of outdoor dining and sufficiently clean restroom. Quality of food is more important than service to me so I still want to come back and get the classic old school cheeseburger. I'll skip the garlic fries next time.

Yelp
Food was surprising good! My friend, she recommended we eat here and I was not expecting much. However she stated her burger was yum and my cheese steak sandwich was East Coast worthy. Being from the East Coast it had that legit diner greasy taste that we all prefer...None of that perfect boutique taste. It was legit greasy and yum with the right amount of onions and pepper. The garlic fries my friend ordered was awesome. Most people know I hate potato but those fries were hitting hard. Service is cafeteria style but simple and easy to follow. Once your order alert goes off, you go get it. Ambiance is intimate and a tad dark which was ok since she and I just came from golfing. It was cozy and comfy and a nice place to chat. I would definitely eat there again and so should all of you!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to come to this place all the time when I was in community college. It's been a few years, but had the chance to stop in recently. We got the Big Daddy burger, Mushroom burger, and were able to order half fries and half onion rings. The burgers always hit the spot, they're super flavorful and juicy. They have a lot of dipping sauces too! We tried the curry ketchup, honey mustard, and some sort of sriracha aioli. I was a bit sad to find out that they no longer do their daily deals, I remember getting their loaded bacon cheese fries on Wednesdays. When the weather is nice, I would recommend outdoor seating. Definitely a good spot to catch up with friends, and grab some food and drinks.
google avatar

Kreesha E.

Yelp
A sports bar burger sandwich joint with a lot of happy customers. They have outside seating as well but we ate inside. There is a lot of seating. You walk up and order your food. The waitress is fast at the counter so make sure you know what you want. (Not a bad thing) We ordered the mushroom burger, pastrami Philly steak sandwich, basket of fries and fried zucchini. The fries remind me of in n out except they are bigger and crispier! The fried zucchini was okay 7/10. This place was known for the burgers so I ate my burger as is. I loved that the burger wasn't dry! I didn't even need to add any sauce. If you like curry, try the curry ketchup! You won't be disappointed. I definitely want to try their other foods the next time.

Yelp
Been here with the team outing lunch, which is close to our office and had a great time spent. They have outdoor seating and i door seating on the back side where it can fit easily 18 people. The food was quick as they had multiple chefs working on different orders. The burger was tasty and felt light without fries. Every order with burger gets a very filling size of fries. A good place to hangout with the team and also best hangout place with friends on a game day.
google avatar

Mitch N.

Yelp
My guacamole burger was delicious. Next time I can't wait to come back for the Swiss bacon burger. My friend got the Philly cheesesteak and said it was delicious. Lots of people very popular spot. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Ivan B.

Yelp
The theme of the restaurant is somewhat classical since they have red-white checkered tables with wooden material surrounding the inside. Foods are placed on red baskets to make the sandwich meal thematic. This place serves varieties of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and cheesesteaks. I got the Blue & Swiss Burger with a side of fries. I like how they serve my burger with an onion bun, which is something that isn't usually served. The bun tastes soft and the burger meat tastes flavorful. The staff are hardworking and appropriate when they took my order. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants to go to at Sunnyvale! Also the fact that this is highly reviewed in a good way since it's rated 4/5.

Yelp
St. John's bar and Grill is a hidden gem Located down a side street just off of Florence Expressway. (Well at least hidden from me until I found it) they have great outdoor seating and a huge indoor seating area as well. They have a full service bar with and micro brews on tap. The inside is kind of dark "kind of a 70's bar vibe to it" they have a few TV to watch games on as well. To order you simply was straight in the pub to the cashier and place your order, above the cashier you will see the menu. I ordered a combo cheesesteak which comes with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bell peppers, cheese, steak, and a soft "not dry" delicious roll. The combo cheesesteak was really good, it had huge cut caramelized onion slices, which paired well with the mushrooms and the cooked, soft bell peppers. The cheese was nice and melted. The sammi was soft, hot, juicy "not dry" and delicious.

Yelp
4.6 Such a great place for beer and pub food!! Love their cheesesteaks and burgers. Buttttt they have the best onion rings as well as their garlic fries. You must try their curry ketchup too! Always our favorite pub food and drink scene!
google avatar

Diego G.

Yelp
When you first walk in you're hit in the face with an amazing smell of fried onions rings and to be honest... I love that! Especially when you're in the mood for a burger or cheesesteak! Nothing goes better than to pair it with onion rings and/or some fresh French fries! My friend and I ordered the original cheesesteak and a cheese burger with a side of bacon cheese fries and some Buffalo wings! The meat looks very well seasoned and taste absolutely flavorful and melts in your mouth! My friend got his burger medium rare and it's cooked to perfection. My cheesesteak got some cheese whiz, grilled onions, and cherry peppers!! Will always be a returning customer to this establishment!
google avatar

Dominic N.

Yelp
I love the Onion Rings and liked the Philly Cheesesteak Great local place near work and I'm slowly eating through all the different #goodeats here. So far I haven't found a must order except the onion rings. Most every entree has been decent but not mind blowing. Service is pretty quick but I wish they had a tap card reader. Not super inconvenient but it allowed my coworker to beat me into paying for the food haha. They're friendly enough and happy to get you whatever you need. Place is great for a couple different things, nice bar, plenty of corners if you want privacy, outdoor patio, and they grill stuff in the yard so you can smell it.
google avatar

Kingston T.

Yelp
I am a burger guy and this spot is approved! It's perfect for work lunch, family dinners or a nice meal with a beer. Great eats and bang for your bucks! I think it excels simply by having a great juicy patty with tasty toppings. Can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Casey C.

Yelp
Fast service. Chill vibes, lots of seating. Burgers were alright. Skip the bacon & cheese fries. Onion rings were crispy.
google avatar

Jasmine Y.

Yelp
First time here from a recommendation and not bad! I got the cheesesteak which I would give it a 3/5 because my bread was a little flat and the meat inside wasn't spread evenly. I appreciated how the fries were a bigger portion and had different flavorings.
