Fish tacos great, margarita perfect. A date/3 girls could totally split this entree and feel full. Exactly what you would expect from a cozy local spot. Super clean, pretty outdoor seating with fireplaces. Pleased with my pick in checking it out!

Loved the food but the service was absolutely the best. Me and my friend were walking with our pups and their outdoor seating was not open yet since it is still Feb. We asked if we will be able to sit out and very quickly the staff cleaned a table and set up the heated table for us and we had the best galentine’s celebration. Thank you for the warmth and for accommodating our request and making it so special for us. The food is great as always. Best sandwiches.

A festive restaurant with both outdoor and indoor tables. Menu offers salads, burgers, drinks app,..etc. We had the sliders, shrimp, ahi tuna and another other salads. All delicious with great flavors. Appropriate portions. The server we had was ok given not many customers. I would have given 5 stars if he was more attentive. Overall, we'll come back for the burgers.

The food was pretty good. I ordered the stacked chicken sandwich along with a side of sweet fries. There was no sauce provided, I think they forgot. But the sandwich really filled me up, it's more than enough foenone person, not less than two servings.

This is a hidden gem of a brunch place. There are so many good options for food, including vegetarian dishes. The alcohol options are also great. This would be a great place to come with a group of friends to day drink and/or watch a game. The staff is also super friendly!

Great place to have breakfast, dinner, or anything in-between. I especially like the Cuban sandwich and the classic old fashioned. Their service is amazingly friendly. Lily and Matteo are the absolute best! They also have board games which is nice.

I have no complaints as I enjoyed my brief time at this establishment. I ordered the chicken quesadilla which was really tasty. It is close to Northwestern so I believe lot of students and staff frequent this place. The price was fair and customer service was good. They also have a nice happy hour menu!

This is one of the best salads I've had in Evanston!! The Salmon is cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of crisp on top. The salad dressing and the sauce on the salmon are both DELICIOUS!!! Great flavors, big portion, and overall very healthy.

Great choices and always good food. Clean and nice place with inviting sports on the TV's and the staff is awesome!!! 10/10 in my book!! Plus they support NU sports!! Great brunch menu and great drinks...

My son and I tried this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. I'm trying to eat healthy and their salad are delicious. My son got their avocado salad, and I got the short rib salad. The rib meat was shredded and tender. Nice flavors and cocktails for $10, which is reasonable now. I will definitely return when I am in the area.

If one hypothetically chooses fruit as a side for one's bulgogi cheesesteak to be healthy but continually steals the homemade chips off her kiddos' plates, does one get partial credit? Asking for a friend... Damn, those homemade chips are addictive! The bulgogi cheesesteak was savory, hearty, and comforting. I would easily order this again and highly recommend it. Love the clever sections of the menu too. Stacked = sandwiches. Folded = tacos. Forked = salads. Love this gem of a place! I want to come back to check out the cocktails.

I came to eat brunch and am super hungry. I already like this place atmosphere. I think the prices are right and the service is friendly and efficient. I ordered a chicken caprice sandwich with their home made chips. I skipped their drinks but I can see a nice menu for that. The restaurant is situated next to the Noyes Purple L and plenty of street parking with meters.

We came by for a quick lunch while out an about. When we walked in we were quickly seated by the hostess. She handed us our menus and went about her marry way and just seconds later our server swung by to ask if we would like anything to drink. As she got our drinks we had the opportunity to look and around and peruse the menu. The menu has various American classics with some fusion flairs. I decided to try the short rib banh mi, and it was delicious. The meat was super tender, and the pickled veggies added for the perfect bite each time. It came with a side, and I choose the tots, because how could I not. The tots were nothing out of the ordinary but they were still crispy and hot. All in all, we had a great experience. They had great music playing throughout the meal, and it seems like the regulars never mind coming back for another great meal. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu soon.

Cute spot in Evanston, good service and good food. Highly recommend the salads. We had the Falafel salad and Baja Salad and they were so filling and delicious. Kids meals also had large portions. Parking lot nearby, some street parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Located outside the DT Evanston area. Fun board and card games inside. Good variety of beers, ales, and cocktails. The food itself is great at Stacked & Folded -- delicious salads and sandwiches. I've run into a few service hiccups with getting orders wrong and the post Covid self service style of the restaurant, but overall this is a good burger and casual eats spot.

Very casual brunch/lunch place with plenty of seatings both indoors and outdoors. Our server was friendly and provided water to us and the kid. Service was a bit slow tho. We ordered waffle chicken, burger, veggie burrito and guacamole with chips. My favorite was veggie burrito which came with lots of veggies yet had lots of flavors. Others dishes were standard. Also tried a rum based cocktail which was pretty refreshing. Staffs were all very friendly.

Decent dinner stop. We had the bulgogi cheese steak and the short rib bahn mi sandwiches. The cheesesteaks were juicy and flavorful and the bahn mi was good also. The sides of tots were crisp and not greasy. Food came out quickly and was still very hot. Special cocktail and beer list for Lollapalooza weekend was extensive and very reasonably priced. It was a perfect night to eat on the sidewalk - luckily got a spot in the shade as there is not a lot of tables with shade. Service was so-so/not very focused except for the quick food arrival; had to ask for a couple of things twice and never came back to ask how the dinner was.

Loving my new favorite Evanston spot! Stacked & Folded is an upscale food centric bar/ restaurant that is a bit off the main Northwestern University campus. They have a lot of outdoor space for large groups and their service is so quick and friendly! Amazing apps including ahi tuna on wonton chips, banging shrimp, and fried cheese curds! No need for entrees in my opinion as the appetizers should be repeated ! Save room for the dessert! Great for summer patio season!! #chicago #evanston

Visited for lunch on a slower Sunday. There was a pretty limited brunch menu until 3pm, but our server Joseph was kind enough to show us the full dining menu when requested. We're local Evanstonians and I can't believe this was our first time visiting! My fiancé and I ordered the Cuban with a side salad and the Turkey & Brie with the sweet potato fries. We both cleared our plates and left with happy bellies. The Turkey & Brie was EVERYTHING I DREAMT OF! A combo of sweet and savory, but not overwhelming - a delicate balance of flavors. The sweet potato fries with the chipotle aioli was to die for. Joseph's service was 10/10. He was incredibly kind and offered up great recommendations. He went above and beyond by checking with the kitchen to see if they'd be okay with us ordering off the full menu. We both complimented him and told him that the world needs more people like him. The food was great but the service was TREMENDOUS and will guarantee our return. Restaurant management - give Joseph a raise! Thanks, Joseph!

I love this place. The staff was friendly and our server Ryan was so attentive. He constantly checked on us to make sure we have everything during our meal. We tried the stacked burger, chicken caprese, tomato bisque, chicken waffle, and kid cheeseburger. Their stacked burger was delicious and the chicken caprese and chicken waffle were good but I would definitely come back for their burgers. Definitely coming back for more .

I've been 3 times now and have never had a bad meal. Last two times, you order either from a QR code or at the counter vs. a waiter coming to your table. They seem well-staffed (a miracle these days), and service of bringing food to table, etc. is great. Awesome food. Lively atmosphere with football on TVs (no sound) on fall game days. We came early tonight for chips & guac, drinks, then early dinner. Worked out fantastic. Found a booth (where I could simultaneously charge my phone) and relaxed for a while. Restaurant started to fill near 6 PM. Recommend if you want yummy food & fun atmosphere. It's also a bit off the beaten track, north of most of the other Evanston restaurants.

I got carryout from here last week and greatly enjoyed it. I heard that their burgers were pretty good and I agree. The Western burger was huge and full of flavor and toppings! I wish it was cooked a smidgen more, but it was still good. I do not remember if they asked how I wanted it cooked. Hmmm....Maybe it was on me. I got the housemade chips with it which was a good choice. Yes, the price is a little bit higher, but the quality is well worth it. I also liked that it was pretty much ready on time meaning it came out of the kitchen and packed nice and hot. I will certainly be back to try the rest of the menu! The carryout experince was excellent!

Amazing service, people are so nice here! They have good music and great food. Very family friendly and they even have games to play while waiting for food. They let you pick your seats if it's not too busy and service is fast! The place has a great vibe and is very clean and welcoming! Restaurant is cute. Server was excellent. Food was fair. Our table had a turkey burger which was not very good, French toast and sausage which was not very good and a salad, which was better than the two other entrees. I would not go back to this restaurant.

I'm give this place a 5 star because everything I have tried has been really good. Short Rib Bahn Mi so good so much flavor ordered it a few times in a row. Last time i ordered it, it was too salty so I ordered the Cajun salmon salad next time. It blew me away. It was perfect. So now I try to order something new every time. Shrimp po boy amazing, chicken pita so good. I will try a burger next time. I will say this time I did the chicken quesadillas and sweet potato fries.... The quesadilla was so salty, didn't come with salsa came with like a vinegar sauce so bad and the sweet potato fries have changed (so disappointing) they are bigger and super soggy, they used to be the best sweet potato fries I have ever had. Very disappointed. Again food is usually amazing just disappointed this time around.

Heading east on Dempster to get to the Shakespeare Garden I passed by this place and was instantly curious. Stacked & Folded? The only thing that came to mind was that this was some new laundromat concept (truly, I did--and I'm not so sure I haven't stumbled onto something here, so don't steal my million dollar idea). So the name pulled me in, and I was scrolling down their menu. I saw the taco salad and immediately had a craving so I decided I'd pick one up for a late lunch. I placed my order online, but unfortunately didn't get the 10% off for a first order (they use an order platform that another restaurant I've ordered from does, so apparently it's only if you've never used the app? Unsure, there was no code), but that's ok. 15 minutes was quick enough so I went to the Coffee Lab across the alley to grab a drink. When I entered I was greeted by the host who pointed me in the direction of the pick-up counter. It was a bit disappointing to have 4 or 5 other staff members pass by me or stand in front of me at the counter without acknowledging me for a full 1-2 minutes (it doesn't sound long--time it, it is). A woman did finally ask if I'd been helped and I said I was there to pick up an order but since I was about 5 minutes early it may not be ready (that's why I wasn't quite as annoyed as I may otherwise have been about the wait). She went back to check and said it would be about 10 minutes so I could have a seat at the bar, so I did take the first seat there. Whilst I waited, there was a staff member who was bringing dirty glasses over and placing them not directly in front of me, but right next to me (had I been eating at the bar, it would have been in the area where my food and/or drink would have been). So that was a little... awkward, but ok. A man--manager, owner, one of the two I think--was doing some stuff at the register there for several minutes, talked with a woman who was there to pick up an order that had just been received, and then shortly thereafter he asked me what the name was for the order I had been waiting for. It had been sitting in their warming area for a few minutes probably, and he seemed to know that I was sitting there waiting for a to-go order since he asked me about it, so that was also a bit disappointing but oh well. He did apologize so he seemed to recognize too that it wasn't ideal. Luckily, it didn't affect the salad terribly. The meat looked a bit overcooked, and I know y'all don't know me but coming from me that is really saying something (maybe that was spices?...). I am a person who always overcooks chicken (not necessarily on purpose) because I'm afraid of salmonella and won't eat a burger if it's not well done. I was a bit worried because I live like 20 minutes away from here and needed to make a quick stop on the way, so I was afraid it wouldn't hold up, but it did exceedingly well; on that score there wasn't a problem at all. And I have to say--it was freaking delicious. I mean I would have it again in a heartbeat, except it seems insanely expensive at $17 +tax. But would I buy it again if I had a craving for a taco salad? Sure would. Parking, I'm not sure about. There seems to be some parking in the area between this and the building just west of here. S&F is right next to the Noyes stop on the Purple Line, so I'm not sure if that's an alley there or a parking lot (I think it must be parking like so many other similar places underneath the L tracks). There's some street parking along Dempster on the blocks around here, though. Piven Theatre Workshop (used to, at least) mounts plays at the Noyes Cultural Center, which is essentially kiddy-corner from the restaurant. So this would be a great place to have dinner before a show. They have a nice outdoor seating area and the tables area actually pretty awesome, as they have a heated space in the center in order to be used in cooler weather (they were in fact in use today when I visited; the flame is protected to some extent by a glass barrier), and I think that could make it comfortable--and maybe even romantic.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the food we had here, since we sort of stumbled upon this spot while in Evanston. I had this: BULGOGI CHEESE STEAK Tender marinated ribeye, caramelized onions, red and green peppers, topped with melted provolone, garlic aioli served on a baguette Woweeee this was SO good! Definitely not something I've seen on a menu before. I opted for a side salad with balsamic, which was also a good size and super fresh. If you like hot/spicy foods, try this: STACKED SHORT RIB BANH MI *spicy Sweet and tangy boneless short rib, topped with a daikon cilantro slaw served with spicy serrano pepper aioli served on a baguette We had that with tots. Everything was a huge hit with us! Looking forward to returning again soon.

Chicken pita is amazing!! So fresh and a lot of good quality stuff for $12. The staff are very welcoming and friendly!! Great place to bring a book or laptop to get some work done. Also great cocktails

Started ordering delivery from Stack & Folded more frequently and it never disappoints! The quality and flavors are excellent while the portion size is generous. We always receive our orders still warm, included any fried sides that are still crispy when they arrive. Our favorite items are the shrimp wrap, bulgogi cheesesteak, and ahi poke nachos, but we're excited to try more soon!

OUSTANDING. The service was top-notch. My friend and I shared the short rib empanadas starter from the specials menu and they were outstanding -- I could SMELL how good they were before they even reached my mouth. I didn't even use the sauce; they were that good. Also from the specials menu I had the grouper entreé - the fish was so fresh, the sauce was delicious and the vegetables so fresh and amazing. We shared the lemon leche -- also beyond amazing. I wish I could think of more adjectives - I was so happy with everything! I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu - everything looked so good!

The family and I were looking for a sit down lunch spot near Northwestern on a Sunday afternoon around noon. Everything about the place was terrific except the food. Great service, pleasant neighborhood, nice decor, outdoor seating, clean bathrooms etc. They weren't even busy. We ordered from the brunch menu. My daughter ordered the chicken & waffles. My son ordered the steak panini with fries. My wife ordered the stacked pancakes and I had the breakfast skillet. My skillet was so bad (greasy & flavorless) that I sent it back and got some mediocre French toast with burned bacon.. My wife gave up on the stacked pancakes, while my daughter scraped the cheese off of the chicken and did not enjoy the waffles. My son's sandwich was OK. Our server, Liv, was excellent, friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place because the food is not good.

We went after an appointment at NorthShore Evanston on a Sunday around 2 pm and they were still serving their limited brunch menu. We didn't see anything on their website that their menu was limited for brunch and didn't have access to the full menu. The restaurant was very cute and catered to a college town. Open space and very clean. The service was a little slow for a late lunch and the food was okay. I expected more due the reviews. I had the short rib banh mi and the meat was very dry and stringy. The bread was nice and crunchy and it came with a salad. My sister had their burger which was a double smashed. She said it was good but messy. They charged us $2 for a side of cheese which we expected an up charge but $2 felt steep.

Super cute little place! I was pleasantly surprised that their dog-friendly outdoor dining section had propane gas fire pits at almost all the tables, which kept my hands warm on a chilly fall afternoon. You place your order online via QR code, and they bring food out to your table. The online menu was more expansive than the one on their website, with both specials and brunch options added to the menu for weekends. I had a breakfast veggie burrito, which was filling but not huge. While it was definitely messy/dripping, it was very tasty for something so simple. I look forward to going back soon.

Love the vibe, the design, the food, everything is solid. The outdoor seating is charming, even being located right off the street. But the prices are a bit higher than expected for the food you get, and it does take some time to get the food. The Bulgogi Cheesesteak was good, it delivered on the fusion promise. The Blackened Grouper Sandwich was quite large, and while it was a solid choice, it wasn't craveable for me. The fish itself hangs over the bun, and was well cooked. It's grilled, so I would say it's one of the healthier options. The sandwich itself was pretty tasty, and wasn't overly seasoned or overcooked like some blackened seafood can be. Definitely worth its place on the menu. The salad options (California Cajun Salmon Salad and Baja Blackened Chicken Salad) were surprisingly tasty! There were more ingredients than there was just leafy greens, which helped beef up the salad and add to the overall flavor. It didn't really need that much dressing, but again, was a bit on the expensive side considering the size. S&F Slaw: Honestly tastes pretty similar to all other slaws. I would love to try the fish & chips, they always smell amazing, and quite a few people get it, but it's just so darn expensive (~$20) for 3 pieces of fish and fries!

Stacked & Folded is a textbook modern restaurant that is executed tastefully. The menu and drink selection while rather limited is well crafted and is certain to satisfy all members of the party. Prices are very fair given the portions. Overall a wonderful restaurant in Evanston for both breakfast and evening dining, and highly recommended for couples.

Wish I liked this place better, but the food is just ok and there are too many screens with pointless shows on (think cooking shows and cat videos). Nonetheless, it has a good neighborhood vibe.

Friendly diner vibe, busy but not noisy, helpful and cheerful staff, quick service, and top-notch food--those sweet potato fries are the BEST FRIES I'VE EVER HAD with just the perfect amount of crisp. With a name like that, I was expected pancakes and crepes, but what I got was even better.

Great and easy place to grab lunch and a few drinks. The waitress was really nice and even let us chose from the lunch/dinner menu since the dining room was slow. We tried a couple apps, including the loaded tots, burger, and turkey and brie sandwich. We will definitely be coming back!

Was in Evanston and ordered carry out . The restraunt is not open for indoor dining, but they have tables set up outside with fire pits. We ordered a variety of tacos because there are so many good choices. The panco crusted avocado was one of the best. The blend of flavors was topped with srirachi aioli was perfect. We also had the falafel taco. The toppings were plentiful and the feta was fresh and creamy. The garlic shrimp taco was good. The carne asada taco is gluten free and the meat was tender. We also had the chicken adobe. Swapped corn for a flour tortilla. The flavors melded together for an amazing flavor. All of the tacos are larger than most places and the blend of sweet and spicy spices and flavors are amazing. The tacos are packaged so well, they were all intact and presentable when we got home. Definitely will go back.

I went for Sunday brunch, while the service was good, the food was ok. I ordered waffles and bacon. I would have enjoyed IHOP more.

Conveniently located on Noyes right by the CTA Purple Line stop, Stacked and Folded is a cool spot to get some fresh, flavorful dishes - the outdoor seating is especially nice when the summer weather isn't too hot. I ordered the beer-battered fish and chip, and loved the crispy, but juicy, texture of the fish, as well as the accompanying cole slaw, aioli dip, and fries. The prices are a little on the high side for the portion size they give (for $19, I would have expected more fish, rather than three pieces only) but that is my only complaint.

I was really looking forward to eating here because of reviews and recommendations, but overall, I was pretty underwhelmed by my experience here. Staff was friendly but had a 15 minute lag when I wanted to pay my bill. Food was...what I would expect at a ballpark. Cheese curds were good but served with cold marinara, Brie/bacon burger was decent, but no choice in how I wanted it cooked, and it came well done ( not my preference). Chicken parm was decent too. Fries and tots that came with the sandwiches were all just above room temp when served. They weren't busy, but staffing could still possibly be an issue. I'll go back again because it's possible it was just an off day. Menu was really good, so I'm hoping that's the case.

Food is as excellent as it has always been. Liked the variety of brunch specials. My server and her support team have taken it up a notch, thus my 5-star rating.

Came in a bit after lunch with a group of eight (4 adults and 4 kids). Although not busy the hostess was amazing and had zero issue pushing tables together for us. Food was fantastic and came out super fast. We had a poke bowl, 4 different tacos, a short rib baguette, and two kids meals. The poke bowl was so large it was easily split between two diners. Tacos were massive and delicious! Beer selection was great as well and the alcoholic kombucha were a great touch for our group. Service was perfect! Patient and attentive. Zero complaints would definitely come again!!!

Service was 5 star. Food was just OK. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was soggy and just not very good. Side salad was super small and fruit was melon heavy. Probably wouldn't rush back to this place.

Amazing place! Such friendly service, and very dog friendly outside with tables that have firepits for chilly days. Food was Incredible. We had the Turkey Brie sandwich and the bulgogi cheesesteak sandwich and both were so good. Great find! Rare for dog friendly places.

You have to try the Brussel sprouts (if they are in season)! Oh and the tots too. The service is good and the place is minimalistically modern. Try it out. The menu is a nice change of pace from the norm. Parking is typical Evanston metered so you may have to be patient searching. It's worth it though.

Not to bad of an experience for my first time here. We had the guacamole and chips witch was fantastic, also ate the Turkey and brie on raisin bread. That was the star of the meal it was fantastic. Sweet potato fries we're delicious, also had the tater tot which were OK. The only disappointing part of the whole entire meal was the Cuban sandwich. It was absolutely horribly done, my ham was scorched and you could smell it. It tasted like burnt toast and the cheese was Scorched as well. the pork was good in the sandwich but the bread was stale. Overall very disappointing Cuban it wasn't done properly. A good Cuban it's all about the technique and low and slow on a Panini press. Army was overall pretty good I would definitely stay away from the Cuban next time I come and just get another one of those delicious turkey and brie sandwiches on raisin bread.

Awesome tacos! I got the carne asada -awesome -taco and the Cajun salmon - awesome -taco. W We sat outside and the weather was great. If you're walking around the campus or just walking along the lake, it is easy to go a couple blocks over and come and check out this place. They have a pretty decent beer selection as well and my wife said the mango margarita was great. I do t take The train, but if you did, it is about 4 feet away. Net net - Definitely worth checking out.

Superb! Fresh healthy cuisen for your health. A must for every meal. We ordered Blackened Grouper Sandwich very good on a bun. Are you craving fish? Lots of fish dishes, plates to chose. Any taco is a flavor party on your palate with fresh ingredients. Love the salads. Be sure to add chicken to any salad. The chicken is perfectly poached and the flavor is out of this world, superb! We had a great time dining outside in front of the establishment. We will be back to try a hamburger! Highly Recommended!!!

Food is not up to par. I miss the Noyes Street in. Great quality and prices. There are better spots in Evanston, than this. Just sub par bar food. Fine for college kids I guess. I have nothing else to say.

Wow! What a gem! We came for lunch on Sunday, and sat outside. The service was amazing. We ordered the chips and Guac to start, and it tasted like we were in Mexico-- totally fresh and authentic. My boyfriend and I each ordered the empanadas, off the "specials" menu-- he got the veggie, I got the chicken, SO TASTY!! Will def go back when we are in town!!

This is my go to takeout for tacos! The ingredients are top notch--you get what you pay for--on the pricy side because of inflation. In addition to the tacos, I like the salmon salad. It is spicy but not overly so.

For the first time it tastes good but gets extremely bland. There are tables wich have a small fire burner but your food can fall in the fire if you can burn your hands. Staff are freindly

I am from Evanston and currently live in Chicago. I come here once a week because my mom lives here and when she is having therapy I have time to kill. The experience confirms my bias against north Evanston. The owner flirts with the servers which makes me uncomfortable. I sit at the bar and the service is terrible. I keep thinking it will get better because the food and drink are great. I often wait half hour before asked if I want anything.

My friend and I were able to sit outside on a quiet Thursday evening, and had a great experience. All of our food was excellent ! We had the crispy brussel sprouts as an appetizer, perfect size to share. My friend go got the Turkey and Brie sandwich, while I had the bulgogi cheesesteak as my main course. Loved the baguette bread! For dessert, we were lucky to get a piece of passion fruit pie. Service was friendly and fast. Would love to come back next time I visit !

Service is improved; food is spotty, but some of their items are good. Tacos are always disappointing but the quesadillas are excellent.
