"Stand-Up Burgers caters to junk food-craving vegans and vegetarians. There’s a riff on In-N-Out Burger with the “Save the Animals-Style Fries” (crispy onions, special sauce) and six different Impossible Burgers (including a chili-cheese burger with pickles, crispy onion strings, and doused in ranch dressing). Fans can wash it all down with an oat-based vegan shake (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or coffee) or a cane sugar root beer float with vanilla ice cream." - Naomi Waxman

"Veggie Grill, America’s largest chain of vegetarian restaurants, is opening its first Midwest location in Chicago's Lakeview at 614 W. Diversey Parkway. The chain began in 2006 in Irvine, California, and now operates 28 locations in California and the Pacific Northwest. The Chicago expansion will include up to eight locations, including future openings in the Loop and West Loop. Veggie Grill offers a quick-serve, seasonal menu featuring items like veggie burgers, tacos, salads, and wraps, with a focus on welcoming all types of eaters, including 'veggie positive' omnivores. The new Chicago location will showcase a new urban design and aims to establish a market presence with multiple openings." - Ashok Selvam

"Chicago’s first Veggie Grill, the country’s largest 100 percent vegetarian chain, will open on Thursday, February 15 in Lakeview. The chain’s arrival has been fiercely followed by vegetarians and vegans alike. The opening marks the first of at least five Veggie Grills planned for Chicago. They’ve also signed leases in the Loop and West Loop. The location is at 614 W. Diversey Parkway, right at the border of Lakeview and Lincoln Park. It is the chain’s 29th location. A Facebook event announcement has drawn hundreds of enthusiastic reactions. The location seats 40 in a 2,000-square-foot space. The restaurant is a new design for the chain." - Ashok Selvam

I’m from Nashville, so I appreciate a good chicken sandwich. This isn’t even chicken, and it’s one if the best buffalo chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Super tender and juicy. Meat shreds beautifully. The save the animal style fries should be illegal. I always end up going back for a second order. In N Out would never survive against these.

This place is delicious! My boyfriend notoriously hates vegan substitutes but he loves the vegan chicken here! The ceaser salad is great and the free bird tastes amazing. We tried the O.G burger, the stand up burger, the chili cheese fries, the lemonade, the strawberry shake, ect. We honestly spent $70 so it's a bit overpriced but worth it 100%

The Keith-Donovan Experience

This was a first time experience for a plant-based burger and fries. Turns out it’s really not that bad, the whole time I knew clearly I wasn’t eating meat but it taste very similar, more mental than anything. For my first time trying to plant base lunch I definitely do it again the fries are great. I got a shake also which was scrumptious. If you’re interested in an experience for something new, definitely come to standup burgers.

Really enjoyed the BBQ bacon burger and vanilla shake! Very chill vegan place with good music selection 🙂 oh and get the save the animal fries, so good! The fries are perfection.

Probably the most delicious vegan food available. Beyond Beef burger and spicy Italian sausage available here. Try the Lucky Stars Burger, the Brat, and Italian sausage. I only wish Veggie Grill would expand to Chicago's North Shore and/or offer complimentary parking. If your driving to the city location on Diversey parking can be an issue.

The service is good, food is great! Everything was fresh and tasty. The chicken fingers were room temp but the fried cauliflower was hot. It's their first week I'm guessing they just need to work out a few kinks eith the timing, but everything was delicious. We'll be back soon!!

had the best falafel burger ever here. even if you aren’t vegan, the food here was really great. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, it was really chill, and all the workers were super nice and helpful. It’s a little pricey for burgers but it very worth it. good stop for a casual lunch.

We got the burger via Uber! Fast delivery, and the burger and fries was absolutely delicious. Very satisfied! Finally a burger joint that doesn’t serve meat!!
