The kind of open air BBQ venue, East Texas style. You will find the sincere courtesy, care for authenticity, and best humble aspects of this state, in honky tonk style joints like this. It’s a busy vibe, with order at the counter and bar style, and a design to handle high traffic. Parking is easy enough around the surrounding streets though there is not a large designated parking lot - which is great and we can walk! Their sauce was the best stand out and the tacos and ribs are great. Enjoy it early and often!

Today for lunch I tried Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue at 525 S Beckham Ave Tyler, TX 75702 I have seen this restaurant mentioned many times for having good BBQ. Today I was able to make my determination. Brisket: I ordered a sliced portion of moist. The consistency was great but the flavor was mostly limited to the rendered fat and bark. A small amount of sauce fixed the flavor. Baby back pork ribs: They offer this in half or full rack vs by the weight. There was an award above the register signifying the ribs winning a "best" award at a food competition. The ribs were great. The consistency and flavor was perfect, the crust and glaze was what I hoped for. Jalapeño cheese sausage: Smooth consistent grind with varying sized pieces of jalapeño and great flavor. The cheese was so small that it gave flavor but was not easy to find. Cowboy pinto beans: Simple beans with good flavor that dry out on the top crust fast. Peach cobbler: Soft peaches with fully cooked pie filling topped with cinnamon and sugar. This was perfect. I am glad to have had the time to visit this restaurant today and will keep it in my list of places worth stopping in when in the area. 10 months ago we came for the first time and t the ribs was under cooked. We brought my brother and his wife yesterday and the same thing all the other meats brisket and sausage was on point Mac and cheese marvelous yet them ribs still under cooked. Let your put masters know to let there ribs cook thoroughly before adding any sauce especially sugary sauce which will cooked and make them think the ribs are done. So we're coming back and only thing I ask is the ribs are cooked

A recent uber trip brought me to Tyler from Forney. Once I dropped my passenger it was time to get some lunch. Looking up the food scene in multiple apps, they all put Stanley’s Famous Pit BBQ at or near the top of the list. My overall rating is a 4.65 and I can see why. Upon my initial visit, the restaurant looks unassuming from the outside but definitely has that small town meets big city charm on the inside. If you dine in, there are two dining areas upstairs. One inside, and the other is a covered patio. There also appears to be a rooftop deck.on to the main reason I’m here….the tasty vittles! I ordered the equivalent of a sampler platter that my server recommended. Not on the menu per say, but she entertained this foodie’s curiosity. I went with the ribs, pulled pork and brisket. For my sides I chose the cole slaw and potato salad. Included were 3 slices of bread and a small tray of pickle slices, jalapeños and sliced onions. Each meat portion was 1/2 lb in serving size. Plenty of food for this fatty! Total cost for the platter plus a medium coke was $36.25. Priced reasonably by Texas BBQ standards. My review of the food is overall a very pleasant experience. The ribs were meaty and plentiful. They seem to be prepared competition style. Not fall off the bone tender, but still tender enough. The rub had a forward presence of garlic followed by a sweetness that I am guessing is brown sugar. They were enjoyable on their own, naked, but the bbq sauce provided at the table added a little sweet, tangy heat. My preference these are good enough without the sauce. Overall rib score 4.9 out of 5. The brisket: slightly different than what I am used to. The smoke ring was on point, tenderness was spot on, it’s everything you expect for melt in your mouth brisket as far as the cook is concerned, but the rub…that kind of threw me off. Not bad, just different. You can taste the usual suspects in the seasoning such as the salt and pepper, but the brisket was giving off notes of nutmeg and possibly a little cinnamon. I enjoyed it, just didn’t expect it, as it is a little different than traditional brisket. The burnt ends that came on my portion of brisket actually elevated the flavor to the next level. Overall score on the brisket was 4.6 out of 5. Burnt ends if that’s all that I would have been given, I would have scored those 5 out of 5, they were that delicious. The pulled pork: It was juicy, flavorful and spot on for what pulled pork should be. The flavor profile had hints of garlic and a sweetness that wasn’t as forward present as the ribs, but still very enjoyable. This is where the sauce on the table became the star of the show. Just a little bit of this sauce, not even a teaspoonful, elevated this pulled pork to some of the best I’ve eaten anywhere. Overall pulled pork score 4.85 out of 5. The cole slaw: This was my least enjoyable item on my tray. Not because it was bad, because it was truly a unique flavor that I have ever tasted in a cole slaw. It was tangy, almost like an Italian dressing flavor, mixed with a little mayonnaise, but what threw me off was the presence of cilantro. Unfortunately I am one of those whose tastebuds think cilantro tastes like soap mixed with metal. If it weren’t for the cilantro, I would have truly enjoyed this. Overall score fore the cole slaw 3.5 out of 5. The potato salad: this was probably the most straightforward, what you expect at a bbq joint potato salad as it gets, and that is not a bad thing at all. It was flavorful and very enjoyable. Overall score 5 out of 5. Service was exceptional. My server at the front counter was very helpful. Once upstairs in the dining area, the servers working the floor were very attentive and brought that southern hospitality that truly makes this place feel like everyone is part of the family. There was an elderly gentleman that came in, and by all accounts he must be a regular, because every server working the floor made it a point to stop and greet him, some even hugged him. This is what customer service should look like. Customer service 5/5.

Kind of a weird set up you enter down below and order then you find a spot on the upper levels to eat. I had pork ribs, turkey and brisket. And yes that is in order of yumminess. I loved the ribs. I ordered 3 and got 5 so that is a bonus. 2 of the ribs were really small and a little crispy but the other 3 were tender, delicious and well seasoned. The turkey was tender and good with a slight Smokey flavor. Now everything about the brisket was fantastic except the flavor. It was tender, moist and the seasoning on the exterior of the cut but it was good but the actual meat was missing a good smokey flavor. Finally the bbq sauce was mid. Basically ketchup with pepper in it. Not impressed with the sauce. So hopefully it was an off day for the brisket and you have a better experience.

IMO, Stanley's has the best BBQ in East Texas. It's so good that I'm rewriting this review to mention their ribs. We have been coming here for around 5 years and I just recently tried the ribs and was pleasantly surprised. I always get the brisket, but I highly recommend the ribs as well. My wife also LOVES their tacos. Great spot with a cool atmosphere.

I was pretty stoked to check this place out, basing it on the reviews, but I gotta say, the food fell so short, I've had way better barbecue in Tyler than this place, so I'm just not sure if it was an off day, or what's going on. The ribs were extremely fatty, the brisket was dry, the pork was fatty, the only thing that was the saving grace of the things I ordered was the sausage, and that's not saying much. I will say that the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. If you're looking for five-star barbecue in Tyler, head north.

What an Amazing place, great music venue, Great Staff, Heather was amazing and the food! If you are can make it on a Friday, the Reuben Pastrami Sandwich is next level. Although it's two hours away, it's worth the drive every time.

The ribs were tender and have a slightly sweet rub, which makes them delicious. The brisket was also very very tender and delicious! Potato salad....excellent. I'll be back!

I had a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of beans and a hot link sausage. The brisket was very good, with a nice amount of smoke and the sauce was rich while still being tangy. The beans were just ok. I'd probably pass on them the next time. The sausage was fantastic! Nice and savory, good smoke, and a nice snappy skin. Overall, very good Texas bbq.

Food: Meh Service: Great Ambiance: Great While visiting Tyler for the week we wanted try as many restaurants as we could! My hubby and I both love GOOD BBQ. Unfortunately, we didn't find it here. We ordered the sausage, ribs, brisket, potatoe salad and beans! The ribs were dry, the brisket was too fatty and didn't like either of the sides! However, I loved the sausage! The sausage was really good!

What's up with the potato salad? We love you Stanley's, but why did you change it? The photos from 2020 show the wonderful mustardy potato salad that was some of the best I've ever had. Yesterday, it was mayo heavy and more gloppy. Everything else was fantastic, as always, and of course, we'll be back, but won't order the potato salad. I realize everyone has their preferences, it's just not mine.

Yes!!! This is some amazing bbq! We ate brisket moist and lean. It had a perfect bark. We liked it so much we had seconds. Great outdoor seating. We had some yummy frozen margaritas! I will definitely come back if I am ever in East Tx!!

The trifecta is always my wife and I's go-to. We always substitute the regular sausage for jalapeno cheddar sausage. We consistently go here once or twice a month and that is what it is, consistently great. The service is always great, we are creatures of habit, and when we ask for extra bread and fixings most of the wait staff is always willing to hook us up. The atmosphere is typically great. We did go one time on a late Saturday and the "bar" atmosphere was prominent, I am an old man at heart. Love Stanley's and we will continue to be customers here.

Oh holy smokes this place is a must stop if you are ever in the area!!! This place has one of the coolest set ups of any bbq joint I've seen. Love the indoor/outdoor seating options along w/the bar. Staff was friendly and informative. Once you are seated you get your own refills and throw your own trays away, which is not a knock by any means. I made the mess so I am more than happy to get it put away. When it comes to the menu I can't help you. I have had just about everything on the menu and everything is absolutely amazing! I have eaten at this place 3 times now and can't get enough of this place.

This BBQ joint located in East Texas is the best you'll find. While driving through town I noticed this place and stopped to eat for lunch. It was busy during lunch but the line moves fast. After you order there is a huge dining area with a bar. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The brisket and ribs were above average, Mac and cheese was decent, but the dessert was excellent. The service/staff couldn't have been better. If I pass through Tyler again I will definitely stop by. Peace.

We found ourselves in Tyler for a family emergency with someone in the hospital and looking for something to eat. Of course we took to Yelp and Stanley's came up boy am I glad it did!! You order at the counter and the food is brought to you. We went several times while we're in Tyler and all we ever tried where the tacos they have various different tacos all fresh ingredients all delicious. They also have lots of barbecue options. We just never got around to trying them. They have seating inside and out. Staff is very friendly. We sat inside the bar area as well one time and they have great drink specials daily . I know it sounds weird to get tacos at a barbecue place but trust me when Tyler go to Stanley's and try the tacos ! Add it to the love list

First time to eat at Stanley's though I have lived in the area for over twenty years. Excellent brisket and a fun, funky vibe.

Stanley is about 4.25 stars. This BBQ joint very famous in Tyler Texas. We visit the restaurant close to 2 pm and there still a line there at the order. Parking is a challenge due to popularity. One thing for sure you need to find the order location of you are the first timer. They don't take the order on the table. You will need to order at the counter and take the order number and place on the holder on the table you choose. Food delivery is quick. We got the ex wife sandwich. Crazy name for sandwich with brisket and pull pork. Vey delicious. We also got their winning dry rub BBQ baby back ribs. This dish has two side and we got the cowboy bean and the potato salad. The baby back back ribs is amazing. Rib size also big. Overall is good. We got a can of lone star Texas light beer. Very refreshing during the hot weather.

Stopped here before heading back to DFW and this place did not disappoint! Ribs and brisket were on point. Even the sides were delicious. Can't wait to come back.

For starters, everyone here was so friendly and the food came out fast. The brisket was good but the jalapeno cheddar sausage was just okay. It was kind of dry and had a very Smokey flavor which was fine but barely any jalapeno and cheddar flavor. The Mac n cheese wasn't anything special but wasn't awful.

Living in California, great bbq can be hard to come by. In Texas you can close your eyes and stumble into good bbq. This was some bbq you needed to take your sweet time with. It takes some real TLC. I could rave on and on about the quality of the meat and the techniques they use. All you need to know is this is clearly elite bbq. There's not a whole lot of confusion. This is simple. (4.8 Stars)

It's a funky hole in the wall with terrific ribs! Visited on a cold MLK weekend. Ordered ribs, mac, potato salad and bread. Some of the best ribs I've ever had (besides the wife's). Potato salad was good; it had a little heat to it which I really enjoyed. My wife thought the Mac n Cheese too cheesy---so that's up to you to decide. We ordered drinks from the bar. Bar staff exceedingly nice. Not really any wine options but lots of other choices. Service overall was terrific. Staff kept holding doors open for me. They kept coming over to our table and asking if we needed anything and clearing it off when we finished. This was a terrific experience. Very reasonably priced. There's parking on the street behind it. We had no trouble but I don't know what parking is like on a busy night! Well worth it.

Maybe I'm spoiled with my bbq in Fort Worth but this bbq didn't taste smokey at all, it was decent but nothing compared to Hard Eight, Heim, or Hutchins. I was also disappointed they were completely out of sausage. The meat was good but lacked seasoning/smoky flavor.

GET THE RIBSUHHHHHHH! I am serious. GIT THEM, K? This place has such a cool vintage exterior and I loved loved loved the neon signage. We arrived around 1:30 in the afternoon and the line was super short and we got up to the counter and ordered the Texas trinity of sliced brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage and 1/2 rack of ribs. We had the cowboy beans and potato salad as our side dishes. Freshly brewed ice tea was a welcome sight and very refreshing. The service is so efficient as the staff gives you a number and they bring your delectable food on a platter to your table. There are several inviting sitting areas and patio type settings throughout. There is also a small stage for live music and a play area for all ages with picnic tables outside. The bar area had several interesting cocktails and whiskeys to choose from. We did not partake (maybe another time!). My favorite item on our platter was the half rack of ribs. They were so meaty and perfectly seasoned. The brisket was lean just like my hubby likes it and the sausage was spot on and on the spicy side. The potato salad had a sweet little presentation with a white raw onion ring with a pickle in the middle on the top of the salad. The potato salad was really creamy and tasty. I enjoyed the cowboy beans as well. I almost ordered the mac n cheese; however I am usually underwhelmed by mac n cheese and decided to go with the safe choices of beans and potato salad. Someone tell me if it is all they dreamed of and more! Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe I should start requesting samples! When you go; check out the sandwich menu.....They are famous for the Mother Clucker! Love the name! I may try that next time I would like to add that the barbecue sauce is divine and I like the tartness of it. I would definitely return when passing through Tyler again.

My second visit since my first in 2021, and nothing has changed, and that is a good thing! No line out the door on a rainy Monday made it even better! Friendly service and great BBQ!

The food & the service was great! You can tell that they kept the kitchen & restaurant spotless. I had the 1/2 rack of Baby Back ribs with Mac & Cheese & green beans. My husband had a 2 item plate where he got Brisket & Sausage. As well as fried & green beans. All were excellent, this is our new default Bar-be-Que spot. The portions are big so bring a big appetite.

10/10. Hands down the best bbq sandwich I have ever tasted. Rated #1 for a reason. Stanley's is a bbq joint as humble as the town of Tyler Itself. Order at the counter and find seating while they prepare and bring your order out to you. Multiple friendly faces came to check in on me while I dined. The setting is typical of your ma & pa bbq spot: wooden flooring and walls, dim lighting, aluminum signs decorating the walls (my picture does not show the food well, but does adequately paint the ambiance). The food. THE. FOOD. Iordered the motherclucker sandwhich, small frito pie, and coleslaw. The coleslaw was a little too vinegary for my taste, but the ingredients were fresh and the coleslaw was still firm and not soggy. The frito pie was excellent as well. The beans melted in your mouth and the chopped brisket was tender and flavorful. But the motherclucker outdid almost everything I've ever tasted. The chicken thigh was cooked to perfection and succulent; and all the other toppings piled on to aid in making this the best bbq sandwich I will ever taste!

I ordered on online for pick up and it was so easy. I got the Cadillac Clucker sandwhich-- it's the Mother Clucker but has bacon and guac on it. Each element of the sandwich blended to make a delicious meal!! The bacon was thick and flavorful. The jalapeno sourdough bun was light and fluffy but it held up (didn't fall apart or get soggy!)!! I would highly recommend ordering ahead to skip the wait. It was ready on time easy to pick up.

The staff at Stanley's certainly made us feel welcome although we arrived late, asked a lot of questions, and stayed after the tables were cleaned. Bar--reasonably priced pours of whiskies and bourbons, with decent representation of the nearby states. Smokehouse--fall apart brisket, lightly seasoned so you can add the amount of bbq sauce (highly encouraged) you need. Smoked turkey juicy. Pulled pork as well. Had run out of ribs, so "had to come back" for lunch the next day. Juicy cuts, tender meat. Again, temperate use of sauce is nice, but if you ask, they will slather it on before slicing it up for you. Would recommend you come hungry or with lots of mouths to feed. But won't put you in the poorhouse like other bbq joints nowadays. Ultimately, it was the hospitality that made this place special to my tummy and heart.

Gahhhhhh dang. I was starving and came here for lunch and i am absolutely impressed. First off the staff is extremely kind. The food was out of this world. Hands down, I would slap my grandma for a lifetime supply of the mac and cheese. Thanks for the amazing lunch!!!!

I just love this place! It's so well run, and the employees are so nice here. They are obviously picked for their people skills. They make it such a pleasure to dine here. On top of that, the food is outstanding. I normally get a half rack of ribs and Cole slaw (keto!), but I have ventured off and had the Mother Clucker, the chili dog, and the smoked brisket tacos. Also the Mac and cheese is soooo cheesy. I recommend dipping it in the hot bbq sauce. And the beans are good too. All are winners! It's now fall in Texas and dining on the patio is just so pleasant. I recommend it, but the bar area is nice too, and we'll stocked.

Stanley's was highly recommended by many locals during my latest road trip to East Texas, because "they have things on the menu that your everyday BBQ will not". They offer vegetarian options for those that leave meat out of their meals too! I ordered jumbo the ex-wife sandwich and peach cobbler and the famous mother clucker sandwich as my first meal to try at Stanley's! The brisket in the ex wife sandwich was buttery and smoked to perfection. The buns were very complimentary to the meat! I really enjoyed having a sandwich without too much sauce that it over powers other toppings. The highly anticipated mother clucker sandwich was beyond what I expected. The egg was cooked to perfection (best sunny side up egg). The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked (grilled and juicy). If you are visiting for the first time this is a must try ! Peach Cobbler was very tasty. The perfect treat to end my meal. It could have been warmer for my preference but the taste was on point . Stanley's Parking is offered in both the front of the establishment and on the back of the property via Oakland Ave and by the train tracks, there you will find a separate entrance on the second level for convenience into the bar/dinning area. Struggled with parking on my first try but I found my way eventually. Staff is very friendly and attentive! Upon placing my order in the first floor I headed upstairs to the bar/ dinning area where the servers came to find me with my food. They really go far and beyond to make you feel at home ! Plenty of outdoor seating space at this place. Be ready to climb stairs at Stanley's , they are a 2 level establishment. Those in a rush or interested in take out you can now order online via their website for curbside pick up. There are so many different options of food available for those not interested on a sandwich too. The pricing is very good , totally worth it for that all-natural black angus beef ! Don't forget to be kind and round up your tab to support the local community with your Donations! Every little help makes a huge difference. Based on my experience at Stanley's, I can say that this mom & pop bbq joint definitely makes a difference with staying faithful to their roots and to their community!

Really friendly service! The staff went above and beyond to suggest things and explain how it works. The bartender was great. Margaritas were delicious!!! Best bbq I have ever had and the Texas Taco was divine. The ribs were so tender you could pull them with a plastic fork and don't sleep on those beans.

Very friendly staff. Good comes out fast but not so hot. We got the chopped brisket sandwich, the meat is a very generous helping and definitely chopped to almost minced lol. It tasted fine. The spicy bbq sauce is incredibly salty and the regular is quite vinegary. Got a half rack of ribs of which says it's a dry rub but it had sauce on it, prefer my ribs without sauce and didn't realize they brush sauce on. They tasted good tho. The Mac n cheese is good, corkscrew pasta with a thick cheese sauce. Got the chips and queso and it was tasty. Overall, we weren't on the hype wagon as most with this place but it was a decent place to go try and make your own opinion. Make sure you don't go late. We had went at 7 once and they were out of chicken, ribs and sausage, but they told us that if you know your coming later, you can call and see what they are out of and you can also call earlier in the day and tell them to set back a rack of ribs or whatever for you to come in at 7 or whenever.

I LOVE Stanley's, but I miss all the live music. That's THE ONLY reason that I gave it four stars instead of 5. Stanley's is just about world known, they have sauces in stores, their BBQ is the epitome of perfectly smoked BBQ and the SUMMER BEERS make this place quite special but they used to house a lot of small local artist on most nights and now it's just random shows, and community events. Bringing back that musical vibe on most nights will complete a 5 star rating in my book. I usually have the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, but this time I got the brisket stuff backed potatoes, and it's a WIN!!! MY HUSBAND HAS THE BROTHER IN LAW and / or ribs just about every visit. I highly recommend trying these.

Best BBQ spot! Visiting through from San Diego and this BBQ spot introduced me to this very charming town/city in Texas. The bar manager, Mike, was so friendly and came over to check in on me...I must have screamed tourist. Lol. Got some helpful recommendations from local patrons that grew up here at a nearby table. Amazing BBQ and I happened to come on all night Happy Hour Wednesday. Thx Stanley and the people of Tyler for showing your amazing southern hospitality!

Great ambiance. Even better food! Felt like a local. Ordering was easy and the girl was kind. We also got a drink at the bar and the two girls were so sweet. Will recommend to friends who were in the area!

My brisket sandwich was delicious! The staff was careful to be mindful of my egg allergy, which I appreciated. The seating area is mostly outdoors, so this PNW girl was sweating, and the flies were annoying. But the delicious brisket made up for it!

Came here on a slow night. The food was still excellent as always. A favorite amongst our group was the fish tacos and the cluckjn' tacos. Always great vibes with great music.

My husband had the ribs and said if he had them it would be a 4 thumbs up! I had the baked potato with chopped brisket which was massive! Delicious all the way around and never disappoints.

I haven't been to Stanley's in a few years but I was impressed seeing the expansion since I've been. Loved what they did with the expansion. I will say something about the flies needs to be done, even if you're sitting under the fans they're still around. Food was great, chicken delicious and fresh. I would like the motherclucker to have some extra mayo next time and maybe will add some veggies to it. The sauce they have at the tables is still amazing and I will add it to everything I eat there. Staff was nice and the wait wasn't long for a place so busy. Oh, I almost forgot, the mac n cheese was perfect!

In town for baseball tournament and couldn't leave Tyler without trying it out. Wow this did not disappoint!! We got brisket, pork ribs, pulled port, beans, Mac & cheese, etc., and it was all good. By far my favorite were the ribs & the pulled pork, the brisket was good but dry in a couple of spots. Their beans had great flavor and the mac was cheese for sure. I'm a BBQ guy, love it and get it when I want it. And if you want it come & get it at Stanley's

Hands-down the best ribs I've ever had!! So good, that I decided, I had to come back the second night of my business trip. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have these one more time. The coleslaw with the cilantro is just the right blend, the beans are perfect, and the potato salad is great. The first night I got brisket and ribs, brisket is good but the ribs were to die for. The best dry rub I've ever tasted. Service was very friendly and I loved the atmosphere on both a hot night and even more on the cold night when they get the heaters going outside. Thanks for the experience I enjoyed every bite.

This place is great. The servers are really nice. The food is great. Be sure to try the jalapeño sausage and the Cadillac Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich. They are awesome!! The ambiance is really laid back and the place is clean.

I come from California so trying this bbq was hands down an experience you have to be there to try. I don't really care for pork ribs but the way these melted in my mouth just made it so much better. Not to mention their brisket... chefs kiss! Not sure if I will be visiting Tyler in the future but for all those who are wondering if you should go here to eat, don't hesitate. Go! It's really good food.

Howdy Y'all, While visiting for the first time, we discovered this fantastic BBQ restaurant with exceptional service and Top Notch yummy BBQ. Which we should say, is saying alot in Texas! It was so good we went back for seconds! Of special note, Carl, who we learned later is the Asst Manager, made our visit even more memorable by making sure we had everything we needed, and more! Riight down to the last bite of delicious cobbler! Our experience was so superior, it will be hard to eat anywhere else. Thank you Carl and Stanley's Team!

We tried the ribs, the Mother Clucker sandwich, and the brisket nachos- everything was delicious! The bartenders and cashiers were very friendly, and the eclectic atmosphere was great! An excellent experience all around. We will be returning every time we are in town!

Where do I begin. The brisket was perfect fell apart in my mouth, the sausage had a great flavor, the beans and mac n cheese were great sides. 10/10 recommend to try, not a lot of parking but a lot of seating options with outside and inside seating.

When you can cut meat with the side of your plastic fork - THAT'S TENDER. When it melts in your mouth - that's why you stand in line for a short time to get a fine BBQ experience. We took the years ago advice of The Daytripper to stop in - oh yea. I'm a beef guy over pork and I'm super pleased with the meat and the sides of beans and potato salad. Oh yea folks walking around making sure you are well cared for - that's a good sign to me.

Welp, checkin off another Top 50 joint. I was super excited to visit Stanley's after everything I've heard about it. Sadly it really didn't live up to the hype at , least for me. This place was the 32nd place I visited on the Top 50 so I'm just using all the experience I've gathered in my travels thus far as a basis for comparison and I'm a little befuddled on how it made the Top 50 honestly (not trying to be mean, just being honest). So the turkey tasted kinda bland and processed, kinda like something that would be sliced thin and be used for deli sandwiches. Pulled pork was also bland and tasted kind of muddy is the only word I can use to describe it. The brisket was ok. Not bad not great. Good bark. It was fine. The hot links tasted like hot dogs. And my red skinned potato salad was drowning in mayo. Everything I ate needed to be dipped in their bbq sauce which actually was the only thing that I liked. Ok, that's all I have to say. Hope you have a better experience than me.

I went for lunch and there was a line out of the door. I waited about 20 minutes. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sauce and mac and cheese. You seat yourself and it's like a patio bar. The food came out immediately so that was a plus. The pork did not seem like it came off of a grill. It was tender and fatty. Too fatty. Absolutely no bark on the sandwich. I'm wondering was it boiled or out of a crockpot. If you don't like sandwiches you can chew without teeth, pass on this one. The mac is not baked and has corkscrew pasta. I actually enjoyed the different pasta. A pinch of pepper would have been nice since it tastes like a singular melted cheese over corkscrew. Did it live up to the hype? No. Is the service friendly and quick? Yes!

Finally checked this place out today and it is the perfect BBQ joint. Between the 4 of us we had the potato, the frito pie, the torta, and nachos plus we all split a link of the housemade sausage. Everything was on point and I'd recommend them all! Service was great too. The employee's seem to like it there, and they worked well as a team. The ambiance was great; very laid back, comfortable, and unique.

This is a Tyler favorite. The ribs don't disappoint with the delicious dry rub, it falls off the bone. The chopped brisket portion was just right, and joined with their homemade BBQ sauce just made for an amazing pairing with their potato salad. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive to the cleanliness of the eating spaces. The outdoor seating was ample, and on a nice Texas evening it was rather pleasant. The only downside was the gentlemen smoking in the outdoor seating area, which if I had my preference I'd make it a smoke free zone. I wouldn't let that ruin the experience, however. There's plenty of covered seating.
