My favorite barista, Michelle always brings such a warm, calm energy to my day. I come in here multiple times a week. They remember my order, make the best lattes, and somehow always know when I need extra kindness. Coming into Stans is the best. All thanks to Michelle! :D

I was craving a bagel breakfast sandwich and some donuts, and after searching around the city looking for a place, I decided to try Stan's. Absolutely incredible. The donuts were soft and fluffy and well filled. Their apple fritter is easily the best one I've ever had. I got a strawberry creme match latte, and it was SO GOOD. I got my breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and it was also delicious. Next time I'm in the city I will definitely come here again.

This place is perfect for breakfast! The donuts are fresh, soft, and delicious, and the coffee is rich and flavorful. They also have a nice selection of breakfast items, all well-prepared and satisfying. The atmosphere is cozy, making it a great spot to start your day.

This Stan's is quickly becoming a favorite! The donuts are always fresh and I love stopping in to see one of the workers. She has bright red hair and is a doll. I believe her name is Leah. I have trouble walking back up to the counter after I pay to collect my drink and food when I order it, Leah noticed it right away and always brings the food right out to the table I'm sitting at, even when it's really busy. When I get ready to leave she'll hold the door open for me, she doesn't make me feel like a burden and always takes a second to chat with me and tell me about all the new donuts and drinks they have. I came in with my grandson and when he started having a meltdown Leah was able to cheer him up and offered him a bright pink sticker that made him feel really special. That is stellar customer service you don't find now a days!

My first time at this Stan's location, but the staff was super friendly and there was plenty of space to grab a quick snack or hunker down for some remote work. Definitely head over earlier in the day if you want the best choice of donuts, but there were still a fair number of options when I went in the mid-afternoon. Great seasonal drinks, too!

Cute coffee/donut place. I ordered a strawberry mango refresher which was very good. Better than Starbucks. And the donut pictured is raspberry olive oil croissant and was great. The filling was flavorful and the donut itself was delicious and not overly-sweet. Will definitely come back.

The pocket donuts were very nice! Enjoyed the peanut butter filling. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when we came in and couldn’t decide what we wanted. The croissant donut was a little tough on the outside, but flavor was okay. I think they do very well with their cake and pocket donuts.

There is a wide selection of donuts (including gluten free!) plus a GF breakfast sandwich option. There's also usually seating available inside to sit down and eat or do work. I've been in twice this week and the young man working solo works so hard and is still efficient and kind. Would definitely recommend.

A donut and coffee shop on Broadway. It may be hard to justify a donut over $1, but all options are great. You can taste the freshness when you bite in. If it's your first time, just make sure to check the color of the card the name is on because there are different prices for each donut. It has a good amount of seating, but the neighborhood is popular so it's pretty hard to find a spot prior to 11:00am. The staff are nice and don't rush you when it's busy and the place is kept pretty clean.

It's always nice to go to a donut shop that also has a good selection of coffee flavors. The donuts were fantastic. Maybe a tad bit expensive but we all enjoyed the experience except for I have one son that is allergic to tree nuts and it was disappointing that they cross-contamination equipment.

Standard stand donuts as per quality and products which are pretty tasty. This location I just love, walking past nettelhorst school in the morning past the chicken coop and the various art installation brings you to this quaint stretch of Broadway with many great shops, but Stan's donuts pops out on a prominent corner with in line to the classic style of the street, it's just a classic little donut shop with great service and product. It's really more about stroll this sweet little strip and stopping in to have some sweets kinda brings me into a movie set feel and nostalgia.

I tried a maple long John and a blueberry cake donut- these are usually my staples to judge a donut shop on and they did not disappoint! The cake donut was a little crunchier than I've had before, but it worked well together. The glaze looked like there was more care in making it (just look at the hue!). The opening staff on Sat morning was super friendly and helpful too.

I picked up some birthday donuts for my son today and Davis D. was extremely helpful and kindly assisted me! I stopped in and it looked like a lot of doughnuts were already sold out but they also had a good few of the doughnuts I wanted left. Great service, clean environment, and tasty doughnuts!

An absolutely lovely spot between my favorite bookstore and tea shop. Had a great time having breakfast and coffee and chatting with friends. The ladies behind the counter were the Nicest when I asked for water as well.

Stopped by the Lakeview location for some office donuts and got my self a LeStanwich and a Mango Dragonfruit Tea. The sandwich had bacon, sausage cheese on a croissant donut and was tasty. But I'll definitely be back for the tea as that was excellent. Friendly service as always.

Wow - loved the donuts! We got one and a half dozen for 9 people. One of the best was the LeStan Croissant donut. Other favorites were the blueberry cream cheese pocket, Biscoff pocket, red velvet, and blueberry old fashioned. So hats off to Stan's. Definitely should buy some when in town. You can't go wrong!

There was a line outside when we visited this place. Tons of donuts to choose from. You choose your donuts and then you pick your drink (if you want) at the time of check out. Unfortunately for me, I have been spoiled by South Florida's Mojo Donuts and Salty Donuts.

Donuts were amazing. We tried the gluten free blueberry (you couldn't tell it was GF), the coconut, chocolate dipped, and a glazed. Fresh and delicious. Great service. We'll have to stop back by before we leave town.

Stan's Donuts are the real deal!! My boyfriend and I have a tradition of getting donuts on Sunday mornings, and we definitely went overboard this time. BUT FIRST, COFFEE: I am a Carmel latte girly through and through. I enjoyed this one a lot! It had great coffee flavor, and the Carmel flavor was a great touch of sweetness. I wish there was a little more almond milk, but overall I liked it! DONUT #1: First up to the plate, the Boston Cream. This was fabulous. The texture of the dough is light and airy, the pastry cream is rich, and the chocolate is not too sweet, just right. It's a bit messy but worth every bite. DONUT #2: Chocolate Old Fashioned. I am definitely more of a light and airy dough girl vs. a cake donut girly but you can never go wrong with an old fashioned! Something about the texture and the misshapen knobs on the outside is so appealing. It was wonderful! DONUT #3: GLAZED. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE. I think if you can do something simple so perfectly, you're in the right place for great donuts. This one was light, airy, and the perfect flavor of vanilla and sweet dough. DONUT #4: Standard cake donut. Please refer to donut #2 for my thoughts on cake donuts. This was fine. If you love this texture, you'll love it. DONUT #5: The CRONUT. This one had a nice surprise of being cream filled which was lovely. The layers were amazing, the sugar on the outside added nice texture, this was a close second to the glazed donut. DONUT #6: The chocolate long John. A classic. A staple! It was awesome. Pretty sure it's the same chocolate on top that is on the Boston cream and it's just a great compliment to the dough. The dough isn't crazy sweet so the chocolate is there to add some sweetness. If you haven't had Stan's, hopefully this review convinced you to try it. What are you waiting for??

Donut Delivery for the win! My friend placed an order for an 8 am delivery on a Saturday and asked for them to just give us a random dozen of their best selling donuts. We ended up with 2 of the following: Carrot Cake, Chocolate Old Fashioned, Coconut Cake, Pistachio, Specialty, and Toffee Cake. The pistachio was a fan favorite with our group and I am so glad that these donuts are big enough to share because I was lucky enough try at least a small bite of each. The donuts were fresh and tasted great. I agree with others that the cost is a bit high for a dozen ($30.00) but they were good and our group enjoyed having them to snack on throughout the day.

I live right near this Stan's so it's easy to go to. Though after you mobile order it can be a little slow, every employee is so nice. I ordered the wrong sandwich on the mobile app, so I called and they fixed it for me. I was so thankful!

Okay this place is right at the end of my block and is a hazard to my bank account The breakfast burrito is packed and delicious! I probably would skip the hashbrown if it wasn't included in the combo (I wouldn't order it if it wasnt included) and the coffee is delicious! I've also had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and probably wouldn't order again. I've also tried quite a few of the donuts and can not complain!

Love the red velvet cream cheese donut here so much. I always buy a bag to bring home! One of my fave places to visit in Chicago. Their coffee is great too!

I have to admit - I haven't tasted the donuts here. Just the coffees and an everything bagel. And everything it was not! The bagel was extremely undercooked to the point of way too chewy and unpleasant. The tables were all crusty and dirty. I had to clean ours off before we sat down. Good Things about Stan's Donuts I had a nitro cold brew for the first time with vanilla foam - loving it. I sipped my husband's house coffee- it was bold and intense. I personally wasn't a fan. They have gluten free donuts which is why I went there in the first place. They look decent. Service at the counter was fast and friendly. They also gave us a free donut! National donut day. The vibe was chill - relaxed music, good amount of people, a little loud but not bad.

I don't get the crap reviews...first visit at this location on a Sat night around 6pm. They were fully stocked of all donuts...and this never happens. None were dry like day end ones. For this reason only they are a 5 star in my book...I went in expecting a small selection of crusty donuts and left with a bag full that I didn't have to make excuses for! Got the peanut butter pocket that wasnt good at all...but most of the pockets taste dry to me. 1 double chocolate old fashioned (my favorite), salted caramel old fashioned and Carmel old fashioned. All super good.

Dear Stan, can you make a Keto Donut? You're onto something with those Keto breakfast sandwiches of yours. They are amazing. Like wtf. That was the best keto bread I've ever had. I can not wait to get more of those. But see. Your success then is my agony. Because I'm at your store getting my keto sandwich and of course I want a donut and wha wha. Nothing. I get my daughter some of your delicious sugar bombs. And as she eats it I'm sure she's just cackling inside "you get nothing keto boy". (She wouldn't do that. Why would she even use an expression like "keto boy") you've got me off track. But of course I need to do something while she loves her apple fritter, or birthday cake donut. Because I've got nothing. Anyways. I feel like we've got decent keto cookies and ice cream out in the world. I know you can get this donut thing figured out. I believe in you, Stan. -A regular customer. Ps. This store could definitely have more gluten free donuts available for my wife. If anyone wants those the Mariano's Stan's down the street often has them still on their shelf.

Don't start off your birthday at this location. Birthday donut reward is a SCAM. Walked ALL THE WAY to this location to have my birthday dreams crushed. Rather than a happy birthday, I received "sorry no free donuts for you".

Great staff. Great coffee. But every time I go there, there's always someone with mental health issues or homeless there, leaving the bathroom, tables etc in poor condition, and I've seen them bring their own food or drinks (not buying from Stan's). I understand why the staff may not turn folks away but it's off kilter that those paying for a coffee and dominant can't enjoy it because of this, and so they leave while folks who actually aren't patrons are the one's staying.

My go to place in the neighborhood for coffee, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches. I have never had something here that I didn't love, coffee and food included. There is always people hanging out or working and over the weekends it's a big meeting spot for a lot of families and friends. Truly a highlight of my weeks to come in!

These donuts were absolutely fire. We tried 4 different ones and loved them all. We will definitely be back to try more!

Second time to a Stans Donuts. My sister and I turned my brother from Seattle on to his first visit to Stans Donuts. While I was parking the car the ordered 3 donuts, a Blueberry fritter, apple fritter & chocolate peanut butter donut to effinn die for. OMG that Chocolate donut filled w/peanut butter was so dam good. Tonight I will dream of that sweet delectable chocolate peanut butter goodness. So delicious and healthy (NOT), but hey you only die once.

No matter the location, Stan's donuts are always consistently tasty and fresh! So glad I got to stop here this trip. Service was great, location was clean and everyone was social distancing and in masks. Appreciate Stan's for setting a high standard of service!

Donuts: 4 Stars Coffee: 4 Stars Service: generally 5 stars but can be very slow if they are busy. Price: 3 stars Overall I enjoy Stan's but I do find their donuts to be overpriced. They also have 3 categories/tiers of donuts and it's not always clear which tier the donuts you choose is in until checkout. Donut prices range from $2-4. Personally I enjoy Do-Rite donuts a bit more but Stans is a good option too!

Don't expect to get a birthday gift on your goddamn birthday. The lady at the donut window denied my friends 1/2 dozen bday gift even though MY birthday was 2 days ago and I was able to receive it. Then she got the manager. (Which we did not ask for). The manager was not kind and still denied the birthday gift! And not one Happy Birthday was said. Do not recommend.

I went here a few weeks ago was going to grab a cup of coffee when I had to use the restroom. The place has two restrooms but one of the workers would not allow me to use it. I had to go so bad I almost went in my shorts. I will never buy anything from this place. Wow before I could buy anything the people there are selfish and rude.

How can you go wrong at Stans. Been a fan of Stans for quite a while. This was my first visit to this particular location. Very clean and doing a great job with safety and social distancing. I tried the salted caramel donut- the employee said it was his favorite and new since Father's Day. Not too salty and subtly sweet. A new favorite for me too. Thanks, Stans!

Not sure why, but these donuts' taste is awful.. Perhaps it's the choice of cooking oil or old or old cooking oil. I've never tasted such a distasteful sweet treat.

Stan's Donuts is an always-reliable doughnut chain in Chicago and this Boystown location is no exception. It's a pretty big location with a lot of seating and seems to be pretty busy nearly all day, everyday. When my friends and I went it was just an hour before closing and sadly slim pickins for donuts. A bunch of people came in after us and I felt bad as their options were going to be even more limited. That being said, their old-fashioned donuts are always good! On my latest trip here, I tried their hot chocolate for the first time. It was perfect for a chilly evening. It was much better than I expected, really rich and highly recommended! Stan's in Boystown is fab! Bonus points for playing showtunes and Disney songs while my friends and I were hanging there for an hour.

Stans is a delicious and convenient cafe in many neighborhoods especially east Lakeview. The donuts are...ok. Nothing special especially considering the business is named after that product. There are much better local options for donuts. 3 stars for removing your BEST item: the cookies. Stans had one of the best cookies around and one of the best I've had. I cannot believe they were discontinued!

So good! I tried the strawberry, old-fashioned pistachio, and old-fashioned chocolate and all three were very good. The old-fashioned ones were just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft inside. My wife wasn't very pleased with her vegan choices but that's her review to write.

Yes, these donuts are delicious along with their coffee. I love their blueberry old fashioned donuts and iced coffees that come out of a tap. The service is friendly and quick. I do wish their donuts were more reasonably priced (their typical donut is $2.60). I understand that they're well made and quite delicious but I know of other donut shops that have donuts for less. For this price, I call this a one-in-a-blue-moon treat.

I came on a Saturday after a run. There was a line, which wasn't surprising. I got a chocolate long John. It was either stale or overcooked. The frosting was the only good thing. I almost threw it away but I was hungry after 6 miles. Very disappointing. I've been to other Stan's locations and they were a bit better but given the number of great donut shops in Chicago, it's not worth my money to risk getting a bad donut. Never a bad experience at Beacon and Firecakes. Go there instead.

Today my boyfriend picked up donuts for breakfast and he picked out a chocolate long-john for me. It was probably the worst long-john i've ever had. The dough had no flavor and the chocolate frosting was literally just brown colored margarine. No sweet chocolate flavor at all and SO oily, it was like licking off butter. This is a specialty doughnut as well?! Absolutely disgusting.

Cute . Super clean . Reasonably priced. Had the cream cheese bagel and cream cheese with an expresso shot . Cronut was filling and had filling .

I was here today to buy a small coffee and a ginger Stan donut. Loved the decorative pastries and gotta say the coffee was delish. My only complaint was the creamers were empty but the counter staff quickly helped me to get them replaced. What I was aware of was how busy this location was. The tables were full of customers, which is always a good sign. I left a tip in the tip jar next to the register. Just a dollar (wish I could have left more). Very nice experience.

I love this Stan's! Their coffees are great and donuts are amazing. But the customer service at this one especially makes it so special. We live around the block so our Friday routine is typically to put in our mobile order ahead and grab it on our walk with our dog. Every time there is a treat for our dog included with our order. It's so sweet and makes our day. I am impressed that they recognize my name and remember that we have a dog. It's so refreshing to experience such kindness and we just love going there!

Wanting to be a gracious guest for my friends who were hosting a group of us this weekend, I awoke early and hungover to grab some donuts for breakfast. Boy did I make a mistake.. The pastry pricing for this place is outrageous, i spent $33 on a variety dozen, which proved to be as underwhelming as they were expensive. We really only enjoyed the Pistachio glazed and the sprinkles glazed donuts. The remaining 10 seemed stale and the ones with chocolate were more bitter than sweet. I also don't recommend anyone purchasing the maple bacon pecan long John, as I'm fairly positive Stan's donuts uses the bacon grease from the nearby diner as the glaze. To conclude, i think either a Tim Hortons or a gas station would have sufficed for a more enjoyable brekkie.

I love the simple retro decor and delicious looking assortment of donuts. They do offer the bagels if you're in the mood for something savory. My iced cold brew coffee was a little watered down, and the large seemed more "medium". I think a hot Premium Dark Roast would've complimented the donuts better. (next time!) Since it was my first visit I tried a fluffy Glazed and a rich Buttercream Bismarck. Both tasted homemade. And neither were overly sweet. I was concerned my chocolate-covered cream filled Bismarck would be cloyingly sweet. But it was not. The chocolate ganache and buttercream filling were perfectly balanced. Hope to visit again soon!

I thought I'd check out the newest Stan's Donuts in the Lakeview area which just just opened about a week ago. The shop's decor is just like the other properties. The service is very friendly and quick. I would recommend this location and looking forward to my next donut.

I think Stan's Donuts is great! I love the effort they put in to creative seasonal donuts. Sill, the classic old fashioned ones are delicious. Yes, it is more pricey than your local grocery store selection--but this shouldn't surprise anyone--the prices are listed right on the screen. I think the prices are fair based on the size/quality. The donuts are a bit "cakier" or just have more thickness to them, unlike cheaper donuts that are sometimes more light and airy. If you're going for a 1/2 dozen or dozen, just check pricing first so you're not caught off guard. Other than that..I love stopping in for just one or two donuts when I feel like it. Highly recommend!

This location is walking distance from my apartment. I usually stop in after a long walk along the lake. At first I was getting donuts. Around Mardi Gras, I noticed they had beignets. They were HEAVENLY. I returned some other time because I couldn't get those puffs of delight out of my head. I didn't see them, so let down, I ordered something powdery and went home. I returned AGAIN some other day with beignets on the brain. This time I asked about them. To my great surprise she told me she had them! Sometimes they didn't fit in the display so they were kept on a rack in the back! I was overjoyed! It's $2.87 after tax for a pair. Mother's Day weekend I went ham and bought three pairs and wiped them out of beignets. I'll be back for more beignets. (Disclaimer: when I went to Nola a couple years ago, I did not stop at Cafe Du Monde, so I don't know how well these compare though). Sincerely, Beignet Bandit

The nutella and banana donut is stellar. They sell milk jugs as well... so you can make this into a full breakfast spot... Came here when I was recovering from a long night and it hit the spot for sure.

The donuts are ok, variety is ok but prices are nuts. They sell a pastry they call a Long John, but it has no filling and thus is Not a LJ. Sigh.
