Star Hill Provisions at Maker’s Mark Distillery

Quite simply one of the best meals ever (and that is saying something) ... The Cauliflower Soup was just amazingly delicious, and refreshing and a very nice serving, easily shared with my wife. My wife order the Chicken Sandwich, I had the hamburger... sounds simple, but the Chicken Sandwich had an amazing mango (I think) sauce, and the hamburger was juicy and tender, and about the best I ever had. For desert tried the Bourdon, Bread Pudding, which, again was the best ever. I should have ordered two. It is lightly covered with an appricot sauce, then vanilla sauce. WOW! Also, the service is delightful... and at the bottom of the menu, it states, Tip is included (so considereing this, prices are quite reasonable) as all staff get full pay, with benefits! How nice. Still noticed that some people were leaving a little extra tip since the service (and all the staff) is so wonderful! We can't wait to come back here soon!

This is a wonderful spot for food at Maker's Mark. We came for a bourbon tour and only had about 30 minutes for lunch. Our server, Josie, was incredible and assured she would get us food and get us to our tour on time. The chicken sandwich is a great combination of flavor. The sweetness of the mango chutney pairs perfect with the curry breading. On a cold day, they had chili as well. Just FYI, they don't ask for tips if you pay with a card, so bring some cash to take care of the staff.

We had a very enjoyable dining experience here! We had their soup of the day, a cauliflower based soup and a salad. Everything was delicious and the server was entertaining. Our recmentations for dessert are the Bread Pudding and their chocolate pie.

They close by 3:30p so this was only my second chance to try their menu! The servers are tip-free so I feel that they do not give an extra attention, which is fine if you’re not a high-demand customer. But for instance, I wanted to try the salt and vinegar potatoes and couldn’t remember the exact name since they took the menu away, and the server did not care to work with me and I ended up with regular fries. It was just ok. Very frustrating! Try the drinks! Overall the food and drinks are Very delectable!

Tiffany was outstanding! Our food arrived quickly and was delicious and unique. When we had an issue with one sandwich, she handled it immediately with professionalism and grace. Her drink recommendations were spot-on, and her friendly, knowledgeable service made our visit to Star Hill Provisions at Maker’s Mark truly memorable. Highly recommend asking for Tiffany!

Outstanding in every way. The soup 🥣and the bread 🍞 were delicious. Beautiful relaxing scenery. Our server Tiffany was so kind and pleasant.

The grounds here are just beautiful! You could spend hours just walking around and enjoying the gardens. We had a drink at the bar and then walked down to the gift shop to buy a bottle and go through the dipping process. The experience was fantastic and unique which made these bottles a little more special!

I have been many times over the years and it never disappoints. I know they have also gone thru changes many times over the years and still deliver great food and a great experience. We were there midweek before our tour. We had Chicken Pakora Sandwich, Lasagnwich and fries. The Chicken Pakora was really good. It was juicy and a balanced amount of curry flavor. The Lasagnwich is what it sounds like, lasagna on ciabatta bread. It was so good, I might have to try at home with leftovers. We sat outside. It was very peaceful. The service was very good. A little note is that servers are paid a salary so no tipping is necessary. Great job to management for taking care of the workers. If you go to Makers, make time to eat here.

Excellent dining experience at Maker's Mark Distillery. We had Tanya and she was so helpful, checking in about our allergies and making sure we had our food in time for our tour. The dining space is beautiful, gotta love repurposed buildings that maintain history, but are updated! Lunch hours and a small menu, but there are a good selection of drinks - when you are there, try the slushee!

After our excellent distillery tour and time in the gift shop (dipped our bottles in the signature red wax)- lunch at Star Hill Provisions was a great way to end our time at Maker's Mark. We had a bit of a wait during prime lunch time (about 20 minutes), but it was well worth the wait. The service was excellent and the restaurant had an easy-going vibe. No surprise- the drink selection was top-notch. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the Bread Service starter was some of the yummiest bread we've ever had! The Wagyu Burger was a tasty lunchtime offering and I would recommend. The Lasagnwich (think lasagna sandwich) was less successful- and although you might be intrigued- I'd give that one a pass. Overall- this is a great stop for a meal while visiting Maker's Mark!

Lovely restaurant, delicious food, and superb service. What a way to end the tour, with a great meal. Drinks were on point. Bourbon slush was a great surprise to see on the cocktail menu. Our server was friendly, personable, and attentive to all of our needs. Salt & Vinegar potatoes, pizza, and wagyu burger were our favorites. All fresh ingredients. Would highly recommend.

Very nice and convenient restaurant on the grounds of the Maker's Mark distillery. So - to die for - the absolute best bread pudding I've ever tasted in my life!! Recommend!

The place and service were on point.. however, the chicken sandwich we had needed a little bit of love. It needed better sauce or more honey sauce on the chicken and more pickled onions, don't be stingy.

What a treat! We love farm to table. Food was delicious (Waygu burger - yum), and the service was impeccable. Definitely get a bourbon slushie!

Just an incredible experience. If you're taking a tour or just stopping in for some bourbon at Maker's Mark this is undoubtedly worth coming in.

Visited Star Hill before our Makers Mark tour. Was immediately seated. Large farms are on as it is a hot June day. The temp inside is very comfortable, but the fans are quite noisy. Service has been quick and professional. Chose the bread flight. Breads were nice and toothy however the butter was quite cold and unspreadable. Strawberry jelly was delicious. The pickled beets were lightly pickled. My son ordered the bourbon ice cream and apple pie. Yes, his parents are a bit indulgent on this trip. We ordered the Wyagu burger with fries. Burgers were excellent and my son is still raving about his dessert.

Wow! What a delightful experience! The service, food and atmosphere were all stellar! The prices were definitely "city" prices, until you read the small print-gratuity is part of pricing because they take care of their people!

Decent stop if you need to kill time and are hungry before your tour starts. Pricey, but figured as much being where we are and we got drinks too, so makes sense. Fried chicken was pretty tasty, fresh, fall off the bone, properly greasy and thin yummy flakey breading!! Came with some nice roasted carrots, coulda done without the tasteless peas tho. You could tell those were just once frozen peas. My bf had the cheeseburger which was only average. Fried chix was MUCH MUCH better than the burger. Sounds like tho this place used to be better, but might still be suffering during to rebounding from COVID. However, Fried chix was a good lunch *thumbs up* in a lovely spot!

Food and drinks are delicious but service was a little slow while we were in a hurry for a tour. Also 2 BLTs and 2 cocktails is $75 which is a little steep for lunch IMO.

Very nice lunch stop before or after a Maker's Mark tour. Nice to sit outside and look at the beautiful grounds. And the food is excellent, although a bit pricey (hence the four star rating). On a recent visit, I had a chicken wrap and a buddy had a country ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. Both were very good. The menu is a bit limited but I would think the other offerings would be just as good. Will note a couple of years ago, my wife and I did an evening special "smoked dinner" with paired Maker's cocktails. It was absolutely outstanding. Not sure if they still have the award winning chef they used to have, but based on that I would say if you have a chance to do one of the special evening dinners at Maker's, go for it!

Southern Southside was extremely tasty. Asked for it to be a double, in the end I should have ordered the drink twice since in the end it cost more than two would have been. Unfortunately, I wanted to order the spoon bread, but it was already sold out by 2pm.

Asked the counter girl for her favorite sandwich - when she said the Meatloaf sandwich - I paused. Lol. Turns out the sandwich was incredible with melted cheese and a ton of flavor. Looks like they are undergoing some renovations but the place was very comfortable with a nice ambiance and soothing music. Of course - try the Makers Smoothie. Wow! Great visit.

I am sure COVID has done a number on this place. It used to be known for fabulous lunches and great cocktails, but as it tries to recover, it has an uphill battle to face. Ownership has been an issue and getting a full menu up and running has been challenging. We brought friends visiting from Florida here, thinking we would have lunch. Unfortunately, there were only two options on the menu and they were 3 meatballs for $15 and pimento cheese and chips. Very underwhelming. The drink options were good bit over priced. The main problem-bees and yellow jackets they were swarming everywhere and making it impossible to enjoy food or conversation. I know places like this try natural methods for pest control, but there are situations when I think more aggressive methods should be considered. Keep an eye out for their menu to expand and pests to vanish.

Had a late lunch and Kat was our server. Thank you Kat for being an amazing server. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was up beat and the drinks were perfect. Would definitely recommend stopping in.

Maker's Mark was the last stop on our trip and boy, was it a delight. The grounds were absolutely beautiful - perfect fall trees everywhere, well-taken care of buildings, and the cutest little restaurant/bar with drinks and snacks to satisfy those cravings! We each ordered a festive drink, all were delicious and STRONG... yum! Such a great way to start the Maker's Mark experience. We also ordered the burrata with pumpkin chunks. It was SO good; it was drizzled in honey and was smooth and scrumptious. We then ordered the pimento dip with corn bread, and that was creamy and flavorful. After our little snack, we did a tour with Alyssa and she was superb! She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She talked us through the entire process of making bourbon and walked us through the main parts of their campus. We finished the tour with a tasting of 5 different options and even got to try one of their private selections (if you know about their private selection series... they are to die for. Absolutely incredible!) To top off our visit, we got to hand dip and wax our bottles. Overall, this tour was a great experience. No complaints.

Perfect little spot for a cool refreshing cocktail. Temps topped over 100° the afternoon we visited and this was a lifesaver to sit in the shade and sip a cold drink.

Wow, the crispy cauliflower is so good! Delicious tanginess from the capers. The Lakeside Fog cocktail is special, too--not too sweet but decadent. We're excited to return for a full meal. Very good spacing between guests, too. We weren't within 25 feet of anyone else in the dining room plus there's ample outside seating where you can admire a beautiful installation piece by Matt Weir.

Drinks were good and food was good. I had the burger which was great! It was over cooked for a wagyu burger. Their host seemed like he was new and was trying to manage a wait with minimal support. They did a good job getting people seated while their kitchen was busy and were very transparent with the guests on the matter. Our server Caleb was very pleasant and friendly! Great hospitality.

We were skeptical but yum! Stopped here before our distillery tour and had chili and the pimento cheese spread. Soooo good . Chili was very savory !! Not. Huge menu but good .

I'd say 2.5 stars. Decided to eat lunch here before the burbon tour. Friendly and attentive staff was the highlight of this lunch experience. The menu was very limited with 5 choices for a main lunch service. I went with the burger and fries. It wasn't bad food, but when my burger at Culver's the night before was tastier, they kind of gives you the quality of taste for this burger. Fries were battered, but I needed ketchup to add some flavor: a last resort when I can't eat them straight up. In the end it's a viable option when you're taking the bourbon tour and didn't stop someplace else. On the plus side, the cocktails are tasty!

I was excited to hear about this new eatery opening up at Makers. After watching the news spot on TV perhaps I had too high of expectations. The menu was very limited, with only a few items that seemed to be mostly pre-prepped. This would have been okay if it didn't cost over $40 for 3 people to eat with no drinks, and self service ordering. A quick eatery is a great idea, but don't market and price it as anything more than what it is.

Chicken, grits & greens + asparagus salad with ham and poached egg. This description barely does it justice. It was incredible!

Umm... Consider me another one duped by Star Hill Provisions' spot on Top Chef. This restaurant was actually the inspiration behind our trip to Kentucky in the first place. Sadly Star Hill Provisions was nothing at all what I had imagined. I don't want to say it was bad, because it wasn't, but the menu is very limited, and nothing that screams "Southern" cooking in my opinion. For example, there isn't a single barbeque item on the menu. Doesn't that seem odd? Maybe I'm just a tourist, but I don't get it. I'm not sure what the inspiration is/was behind Chef Miller's menu, but it missed the mark according to my expectations. Star Hill Provisions is ok if you show up early for your tour and need to get something to eat. Just don't get your hopes up for a mind-blowing meal. You're going to place your order from a limited menu cafeteria style, and sit at a picnic table of sorts with your corresponding order number on the table signaling to the server where to go with your food. I had a meatloaf sandwich and my girlfriend had a Benedictine sandwich with bacon (I suppose hers is pretty Kentucky). Both were good, just... No ham, no beer cheese, no biscuits, no burgoo? On the bright side of things, however, I can highly recommend the distillery tour. The grounds at Maker's Mark are absolutely stunning. The tour is very informative, and everyone along the way is as pleasant as can be. The people definitely put forth the Kentucky charm. The restaurant; not so much.

Very casual, but food is great. Three pigs sandwich could not be beat. Chicken salad good as well.

Food was good. Not many options but it is what it is when you're hungry. The prices are pretty steep for what you get. I enjoyed the broccoli salad. That was delicious.

Perfect stop after an awesome tour. It's a little house on the back leg of the Maker's Mark Distillery property. Converted to a small but slightly gourmet restaurant for seating about 20 or so up and downstairs. We had the most delicious flatbread bourbon glazed brisket. It was a great way to end our tour. The bus will immediately drop you there after the tour and they will call to have him jaunt you back up to the parking area. Just first class all the way!

Beautiful spring day in the country. Wonderful stop on our bourbon tour. Great sandwiches, made fresh to order. I enjoyed the Benedictine sandwich with bacon, my husband loved his brisket sandwich,we split the bread pudding with hot Carmel sauce, it was to die for. Warm friendly staff, very clean, great food,. Will definitely be back soon. Nice day.

My husband and I had lunch here with a couple of friends before our Makers Mark tour. We were so glad we did. The food was out super quick, and was hot and delicious. We were very impressed! We will definitely eat here again! The KY Hot Brown was to die for!

For a little cafe inside Maker's Mark distillery, this place was pretty tasty! The menu is limited, but all the options are pretty typical and should satisfy the needs of most patrons. Prices were fair for food, but I will say drink prices were a little ridiculous. We were shocked at the $15 price tag on an old fashion. Obviously turned that one down. But, food was good and you were given a good portion size.

Fun place, great food, reasonable prices. Starhill provisions is a casual dining restaurant with very good food and the advantage of being at Makers Mark distillery. I had a wonderful salad that had the freshest greens I've tasted in forever! It is called Healthy Nut Salad and I recommend it. There were eight of us and a variety of choices. People liked the Kentucky hot brown, the barbecue sandwich, and the Benedictine sandwich. I had never seen Benedictine with the choice to add bacon or ham but my friend who had it with bacon recommends it highly. They offer a bread pudding of the day which was chocolate chip bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce when we were there. One suggestion is that if you choose to drink water, it could be made more convenient for customers. We sat outside and had to go back in periodically to get water because the cups are small and there is no container of water outside for guests. A simple fix would be larger cups for water. After a large lunch, we chose to buy the bourbon balls which are 2 for $2 or 2 bourbon truffles for $2.95 which are terrific. It's a little confusing when you arrive at Makers Mark because you can't see the restaurant. Additional signage would be helpful for first time visitors just coming for lunch. You park in the main parking lot and a shuttle bus picks you up to take you to the restaurant. It comes back for you after you have, of course, visited the gift shop. The gift shop sells a variety of bourbon related products and my favorite was a Tervis Mug dipped in the signature red plastic of Makers Mark. They will dip your choice of mugs into the red plastic for you.

I attended a Saturday evening dinner, and could not have asked for a finer experience to finish my visit of the Maker's Mark Distillery. Chef Miller and family put on a one-of-a-kind dinner experience that highlighted local traditions and ingredients with a contemporary flair. The ambiance and hospitality were exceptional, and the Maker's Mark pairings were perfect. Well worth the price of admission to have a delicious three course meal prepared and served in a exclusive setting as dusk settles on America's most beautiful distillery. Do not miss this!

Very disappointing. Stopped here for lunch and staff wanted to charge $5 per person to enter their grounds..... even though we weren't interested in their event. NO THANK YOU. I won't be back. And I won't recommend you in a favorable fashion. Period.

Since there's little to no signs that assist in directing visitors to the restaurant from the road, we circled the area for 15 to 20 minutes on April 2nd, 2021 (didn't have time for a tour). By the time we parked and walked into the restaurant, we arrived at 3:35PM after a 3.5 hour drive from Nashville. We were quickly informed that the kitchen closed at 3:30PM (5 minutes ago). They confirmed that the building was open until 5PM, but the kitchen closes 1.5 hours early?!?! Our server (Alex?) said he would get yelled at if he asked the kitchen to help. Despite the crushing disappointment, our server was AMAZING. He brought us charcuterie with extra crackers and bread, whipped up a discontinued cocktail, brought us samples of a rare batch, chatted with us about local tips, gave us souvenir cups, and all around brightened our day. HE should be the manager of the place, not whatever jerks are running the kitchen.

Great location on the Makers Mark property. Food was simple and delicious. Great soup, sandwiches and salads. Beautiful surroundings and friendly people.

The best food option of all the distilleries! This place takes your favorite comfort foods and elevates them. You have to try the hot brown or check out their Facebook page for daily specials. Sip a cocktail on the wraparound porch. it's beautiful!
