The 20 Best Vegetarian Restaurants In London

"You’ll quickly get where Good Vibez’s name comes from when you take one spoonful of its steaming hot, flavourful chickpea curry on a dreary Wednesday lunchtime. The Caribbean spot on Deptford High Street is a favourite among locals who stop by for a chat and a lunchbox heaving with rice and peas. The vegetarian options include callaloo, potato salad, steamed vegetables, and dessert cake slices like rum and pineapple. " - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, jake missing

The 18 Best Restaurants In Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"You’ll quickly get where Good Vibez’s name comes from when you take one spoonful of its steaming hot, lazily tender curry goat on a dreary Wednesday lunchtime. The Caribbean spot on Deptford High Street is a favourite among locals—teenagers stop in for a quick cheesy beef patty, workers for a chat and a lunchbox heaving with rice and peas. The food is homely and flavoursome, with standouts being a fruity homemade jerk sauce and that patiently stewed curry goat. If you aren’t in a rush there’s a counter and a few tables and chairs to pitch up and dig in. It’s a basic but comfortable setup and a sofa in a takeaway is always going to be met with our approval. " - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna, Daisy Meager

The Best Comfort Food in London Right Now

"Barbecued foods may be associated with summer, but JB’s Soul Food’s jerk chicken has a soothing depth that immediately warms the body. Silken chicken flesh, surrounded by the immensely gratifying char of its skin, and the jerk sauce on top blending the allspice, scotch bonnet, and brown sugar to create a superlative balance between sweet, hot, and fragrant. —Joel Hart" - Eater Staff

Where to Eat in Deptford

"A Caribbean takeaway, Good Vibez Jerk Centre prides itself on accommodating service and serving a rotation of classics. For those new to Caribbean cuisine, the website includes fairly detailed descriptions of each key dish. While the menu is fairly standard, it’s filled with predominantly Jamaican comfort food that’s well-executed and reasonably priced. Curry goat and oxtail with butter beans are a must-try, plus coleslaw and mac and cheese by the slice." - Jonathan Hatchman

That chicken was jerked to perfection, smokey, spicey, tender with some burnt ends. The portions were generous, my wrap was chocked full of vegetables and doused in a delicious jerk sauce. Loved that they use paper bags which is good for the environment. Only small issue was the paper bag got so wet it started to disintegrate. Perhaps wax paper might be an alternative

I always get polite and friendly service. Food looks good and tastes even better. The rice even on its own tastes nice, soft and mushy plantain, juicy coleslaw. Good veggie options as well. This is my favourite Jamaican place.

We got there at 8pm and as we were looking for a caribbean restaurant to eat in, we ate in, eventually. Our food, oxtail, rice and peas and steamed fish didn't arrive until after 9pm, and all 3 of us gt our food about 6 - 10 minutes apart. It was so cold as the door closer on the door didn't work and shop is too small to sit out of the draft. They provided us with a fan heater, but that only worked if the door stayed closed. Very friendly service, but very slow, they put that down to it being a busy Sunday night. Food was good and tasty, wish I had more meat on my oxtail.

Google
Utterly amazing jerk chicken that is one of the best we have had for a long time in London. The oxtail was great, as was the curry goat. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Google
5* service and food. We made a catering order at the very last minute, however the service was excellent and the team accommodated us. Everybody loved the food. Special shout out to Ron for going that extra mile to look after us and even gift us. The fried chicken and fried fish were gone within minutes. The jerk sauce on the chicken was delicious. Generally, every dish was made to perfection. We’ll be back again & again!

Popped in after a recommendation from a friend and because I only work a few doors down. Some of the best Caribbean food I’ve had in London and great value, I’ll definitely be back soon!

The service was good but I ordered Ackee and Salfish with a fried dumpling and it was saturated in oil, the dumpling also tasted like it was fried in old oil. There was absolutely no flavour to it and unfortunately wasted £7.20 because I had to throw it all away. I’ve eating from here before (Jerk Centre was the name) and it wasn’t that bad at all
