Starbucks

I drink Starbucks almost every day. When am i come order my drink, the lady made my order and she over charged me $3 extra. When i asking her why to much different i order same shop from yesterday. She checked and sorry me about something wrong. If travel peoples aren’t from American , they are change extra like that not good for them.

Always such a long queue to place your order. This is followed by a longer wait to receive your order (not helped by all of the mobile orders). Lots of seating inside and 5 tables outside.

Nice hot Sumatra coffee and the red pepper egg white bites were warm and tasty. They were the perfect light healthy breakfast to start the day. Location was convenient next to Intercontinental Hotel. The place was clean with plenty of seating to relax or work. Service was friendly and quick in spite of being very busy at the time I went.

This Starbucks has a lot of space for sitting and hanging out! It also has many convenient spots for charging! The front entrance is not disability friendly, best to enter through the hotel if you can't walk through revolving doors. That part is really frustrating to be honest.

Small Starbucks without any indoor seating. Outdoors is dirty and noisy. If you have food the little sparrows can be aggressive. No bathrooms. My expresso-fappachino was way too wet. I took one sip and asked the barrister, he agreed the expresso was too hot and the ice was slushy so he dumped more slushy ice in and blended it to a nice light brown tastelss slurry. :( bad experience all the way around for $8

Don't visit this starbucks. They don't use the same products. The quality is poor. The baristas don't know what they are doing or how to refund customers when there is a problem with their drinks and the manager doesn't care to help.

UPDATE REVIEW 8/6/24 I dropped 2 stars for service. I went in again today and I bought several Items. At the checkout counter the guy checking me out told me I could scan my own items. He said the bar codes were in my side of the counter. I said, what? He said, yeah, you can scan them yourself. I declined. I told him he could scan the items as I wasn’t aware Starbucks now was a self service establishment. Then, even though I had too many item to carry I had to ask for a bag. I literally could not believe the attitude and the pathetic service by this guy. What the heck is going on at this place??!! Needless to say, I didn’t leave a tip. The barista was fast and accurate. That was the only plus on this visit. Visited the Starbucks located inside the Intercontinental Hotel today. Barista’s were doing a commendable job keeping up with a flood of people. While waiting for my order I noticed how filthy the backs of the coffee machine were as well as the glass that separates the customer waiting area from the machines. Vacated tables were full of crumbs and liquid left from drinks. It does not give one confidence to go again when things are that dirty. The manager needs to up her/his game and train his/her employees that a clean environment is incredibly important in any establishment that serves food and beverage. Hopefully, this place will be cleaned up so that Starbucks customers can eat and drink in an environment that is well taken care of. The details matter.

It's been a minute since i visited this location... ie 10 years ago but nothing changed. Service is still slow and this place is always busy. The coffee is okay nothing exciting. The store is great for people watching on a cold winter day!

I'm staying at the intercontinental hotel and arrived from a really early flight and needed coffee, badly. Luckily after checking in, I asked if they had a cafe or restaurant onsite where I could get coffee and they mentioned both a restaurant and Starbucks. After reading a couple reviews I wasn't too sure how this location would be but I didn't have any issues. I ordered a latte, breakfast sandwich and a lemon loaf to snack on later. The space was clean and well kept, the line moved in a timely fashion, customer service was great and my drink was made without issue. The icing on the cake is that you can access this Starbucks through the hotel and or from the opposite side of the street. Very spacious and open seating. One con is that you are not able to use your app for deals, you can only earn points!!

We stopped by once for some drinks and walked by this place a bunch of times and it was always busy. The day we stopped by there was about 10 other customers ahead of us. We were hot and needed to cool down so we did not mind the wait. The total wait ending up being about 20 minutes and we finally began to order. There was four of us in my group and we all ordered separately. The cashier had no patience and clearly was having a bad day as it was obvious.. The waiting area was crammed so we decided to not stand there. We found a two person table and a bench to wait at so we sat down. Drinks took about another 15 minutes to be ready. The table was dirty and sticky so we cleaned it up ourselves. The drinks were good, nothing special.

Right across from the big Starbucks, its quite a busy location on mag mile. The line was moving slower than normal , nothing fancy about the store.They have outdoor seating as well but not well maintained.

Hated this. I am a Starbucks regular and i know Chicago workers are speedy and don't have time for any messing around. I ordered an iced water, coffee, and lemon loaf. The loaf came quick and so did the coffee. The water was 50 cents unlike other Starbucks where it's free. Moving on to the worst part. I never received my water and in fact went up to the order pickup to ask calmly if they could make it for me since i never received it. The workers blatantly ignored me and then turned away. I asked again and still they just refused to help me. Like I said, Chicago workers are quick and straightforward but I sincerely did not enjoy this.

In the summer I mentioned a fly on the first level. The manager said the they know about it and food was served from closed cabinets. Now they have a fly near food on the second level in the winter? For these prices, the place should be immaculate.

So I stayed here at the Intercontinental over NYE 2021/2022. This is a large Starbucks equipped with plush chairs and even a fireplace! I mean- that's pretty cool. Every morning before heading downstairs I would mobile order to prevent having to wait in a pretty long line. I definitely would recommend mobile ordering at this location. I never had to wait for my order, just went to the counter and asked for it and it was provided as soon as they could address me. This made caffeinating easy as pie every morning. Overall, this starbs is pretty similar to most you'll find, and if you use your tools; the wait is also a non-issue.

Worst service with very unfriendly, unhelpful servers. I asked two questions about menu and they looked at me like it was a bother serving me. Typical Starbucks feel they are to good to help you.

This Starbucks was lifesaver, as it's attached to the Intercontinental where we were staying. The staff was super friendly and welcoming even though we were coming in right before closing. We apologized and went to leave but they assured us that it was okay. Having been caught in a storm and soaking wet and looking for something to warm up, we were so grateful. The drinks were made as expected and as ordered, and were just what we needed to hit the spot. Plus, it was decorated super cute for Christmas which was nice and festive.

Woah! Where all the best barristas retire, I presume? This place was really cool and I do not drink anything caffeinated. Four stories of Magnificent Mile city view, coffee, pastries and lunch items. They even had clothes! Such a fun place to stop in and check out!

Wifi only lasts for 30 minutes and you have to reconnect every time.... Inconvenient for working

The sweetest baristas work here!! Amazing service. Son was crying and not happy so they gave him a cake pop to help cheer him up.

I can't say enough about this Starbucks. The staff is stellar. I've seen them work through a pandemic, be yelled at by unreasonable strangers. My advise to you (reader) be patient and kind. Their busy not only from their guests but Michigan Ave foot traffic or locals like myself. I've know some of them for three years now and I can honestly say, their excellent employees and wonderful humans. I can tell you I'm always greeted by name. They always know my orders by heart. Their just really enjoyable to be around. I love the new staff as well. I was nervous when we got so many new faces that maybe my local experience wouldn't be the same but it's even better. Starbucks is by far my favorite stop for coffee. I have visited literally hundreds of Starbucks' location since they've come into existence and although they all seem to be pretty consistence with the quality of the products they offer; the service, quality of the product, wait-time, cleanliness and accessibility of the location are the five things that are important to me. Service - 5 Stars Quality - 5 Stars Wait Time - 3 Stars Cleanliness - 5 Stars Accessibility - 4 Stars Rating - 4.4 Stars I love it when the hotel I'm staying at is somehow connect to a Starbucks and this one connects to the Intercontinental Hotel but also has a street side entrance - this is a great location although during peak hours you can expect an extended wait time...

I like this location but I only use here early in the morning so I don't know how it is like in the busy hours. But staffs are nice and seating is spacious.

This location is right on Michigan and easy to find. It is also connected to the Inter-Continental hotel. We came in here because we wanted to get a drink and a cup from Chicago. The open layout is great and the seating organization is pretty cool. We got right in line and ordered our drink. The staff was very impersonal and didn't make eye contact with us throughout our entire visit. I'm sure they stay pretty busy and can't be bothered with pesky customers. I can't say that I would come back to this location, but it served it's purpose this morning and the drink was made correctly.

Love this location. Right inside the intercontinental hotel. Was a very busy Friday afternoon lots of people but the line moved pretty fast. Service was fair and my drunk as good as always. I really wished they had their fireplace on specially with this cold Chicago weather. The bad part was that their free wifi here has an extension of only 29 minutes. That's not cool. The best part too is that you can explore the beautiful architecture of the lower floor of the Historic Intercontinental Hotel and The Michael Jordan Steakhouse. Maybe gran their 23 Layer Chocolate Cake (which is just very tasty and plus you can get a napping with his name signed on it.) win win, just saying.

It's next to the Inter Continental Hotel and so if you need to use the restroom go up the stairs in the lobby of the hotel and go to the left and then down the hallway to the right. This Starbucks is on Michigan Ave and of course gets a lot of foot traffic but the lobby is spacious so you don't feel over crowded. The baristas are nice enough. Honestly it was super busy so I wasn't really paying attention to whether or not they were really paying attention to me. There is limited seating outside if it's warm enough to enjoy that.

We are staying at the Intercontinental for 1 night with 2 kids. Starbucks is the only place to get anything to eat/drink for breakfast without leaving the hotel and it's 3 degrees and snowing. I know it's Covid and this location won't have the same volume of traffic it usually does. No fruit, not even a banana. No yoghurts. No cartons of chocolate milk. When I asked if they had any chocolate milk for the kids the lady was quite rude. I then tried to pay with the app. I was told I couldn't use the barcode for my credit card and had to top up my Starbucks card. I forgot the password. It turned into a whole thing. And the Starbucks employee (Letty) was nothing but short and rude the whole time. If there was another option close I would have cancelled the transaction and left.

I have to say these guys were pretty awesome today. Even though it is a very busy location they were super quick, very friendly, and the place was very nice and clean. Note the picture where a group of ignorant rude customers decided to smash down all of there food and drinks without any regard.... There was an employee who promptly came by and cleaned it all right up!

I ordered an ice cup with juice. But the staff gave me the Grande I asked for the Benti, but he refused with an obnoxious attitude. I have been to many Starbucks, but this is the first time they have treated me like this. If you want a friendly Starbucks, there are many other Starbucks, so I recommend you to go to that other Starbucks.

Been here twice now. Not sure how a black iced coffee could take 15 minutes to make. Second time around they forgot one of my items and had to wait another 20 minutes for a simple menu item. Both times I went they were not very crowded. Talked to someone picking up a mobile order and they said this location is regularly slow.

NOTE: This is a franchise and they will not redeem Starbucks awards (though they will accept payment via the app). No Google Wi-Fi either, apparently.

I can't start my day until I stop by my favorite Starbucks, you get your usual great coffee but the team here make it 1000 times better. Service here is second to none, great seeing you all today as always!!!

This Starbucks location was really helpful on my recent trip to Chicago. Not only was I able to get a quick beverage and use my Starbucks Rewards Gold card, but I was happy to be able to take advantage of the free water available in this location. I was very happy for the free water as it helped me stay hydrated on a very hot day and still enjoy the Starbucks beverages and foods of my choice. This location has ample seating but I never stayed long. It is right on the miracle mile (Michigan Avenue) and near many hotels and shopping establishments.

A mediocre, touristy location that's part of the hotel and not a stand-alone location. Same bitter coffee as every other location, and I always ask for a one scoop, blonde pour-over to tame an otherwise nasty brew.

This is my favorite Starbucks in Chicago. It's located at the Intercontinental Hotel. Lots of seating, clean store, and wonderful customer service.

Love that there is a Starbucks right across the street from Nordsroms. It was such a hassle walking a block south to get to Starbucks if I need an Iced Venti Latte in the middle of my shopping excursion at Sephora or even *shudder* a block west to the Starbucks on Rush. The only down side of this particular Starbucks is dealing with all the tourists staying at the Intercontinental. It can be a real cluster *beep*. note: I dedicate this review to Max Power B. *kisses*

One of the worst Starbucks experienced I have had, ever! With so many Starbucks to choose from in the area, and stopping here altogether. I can here in a sat afternoon, and there was a bit of a line that was moving slowly as one person was futzing around and texting/fiddling with her phone, the offer one was taking orders but was the rudest person I have had serve me in a long time, and I had trouble understanding her slang which just made her louder and more obnoxious. When she snapped at me to make up my mind, I decided I didn't want to give them any service and just left. The Starbucks just down the street, on the corner of the river, was super nice, great service, and basically polar opposite experience.

I love Starbucks in general. This location is slow, and lost my drink. When I did get my beverage it wasn't very good. Howard needs to check on this location. Hence the reason, I'm writing this review from Argo Tea.

Somewhat chaotic Starbucks as it's right in the city off of the busy Michigan Avenue! Many tourists are popping in and out so that does make it a tad more chaotic. However; this was right next to our hotel the intercontinental which made it very convenient. Truly, it feels like they need a few more employees to help with the busy busy flow of traffic. No parking, lots of seating as this is a large Starbucks but it is busy! They are doing the best job they can in my opinion.

Starbucks- how I love thee.... you always know what you are getting, and you know it's going to be good... plus you can do a little people watching in here. For the most part, everyone looks the same, but then once in a while, if you are lucky... a very unusual person walks in- and makes you question everything you've ever thought was fact in your life.

I went to this Starbucks with my girlfriends and they had already placed their orders. I was waiting in line and saw that a cashier had finished taking someone's order so I stepped up to her register. She left and I figured she'd be back but she didn't and the cashier next to her kept seeing more customers who arrived after me. I told her I had been waiting and she shifted the blame onto me saying that it was my fault that I had stepped over to a register without being told to do so. I found this very disrespectful and the fact that I wasn't accommodated as a customer and was basically told to go back to the end of the line made for a terrible experience. I took my business elsewhere.

This Starbucks doesn't redeem points and is prices are way more than your "normal" Chicago Starbucks prices. (Add'l 60% for teas)

Horrible experience! Came in with small kids and ordered. Didn't know they close at 7. We ordered at 6:55 pm. They took the order and we paid. We sat down and they kicked us out at exactly 7.00 pm!!! Do not come here!!! Very rude personnel!

This Starbucks probably needs a little bit more help with its organization. Had the Cafe Americano and a grande ice water on the side. How long can a beverage possibly take? How long can an ice water take after reminding the barista they forgot about it? How long again to mention and ice water actually has ice in it?

We love this Starbucks. Yeah, it can be crowded and slow sometimes, but it's frigging downtown Chicago...what do people expect? The staff is usually pretty nice and efficient. It's a convenient location if you're staying north of the river. Downside - they don't take the Starbucks rewards. This is kind of a bummer, but what can you do? What haa the world come to. I'm writing a bad review for Starbucks . This is my second weekly stay at the Intercontinental so I've visited the location a few times. While some Baristas seem really friendly and nice I can't unfortunately say that for all of them. The cashier got my order incorrect and gave me two sandwiches. When I returned it at the drink counter the guy just took it back and said nothing. So I proceeded to the cashier to let her know of the error. I got no apology or a refund.. All I got was "oh I thought you said two" Are you serious? This morning there were a bunch of tourists from Spain who didn't speak English in the store. I noticed one cashier help them very nicely with smiles and hand gestures and slow talking so they could understand. Can't say the same for the other cashier who spoke with no expressions mumbled under his breath making it difficult for the tourists to understand. Starbucks needs to push down their mission statement a bit stronger on their employees

You know every time that I have gone to this location and placed an order with "Sam", he has never provided complete extraordinary service. So I choose to share with my social networks about the non-extraordinary customer service. The worse thing about this experience is that I actually pulled "Sam" to the side, on my second to last visit and told him how my experience was. He promised that he will pay more attention to my request and needs. Well obviously that didn't happen and this is why I am now "yelping" the experience. In addition, the barista called the onsite security and had me removed from my place of work. I actually produce shows in the Intercontinental hotel, which is attached to this location. So now what should I do about this? This was VERY absent in my most recent experience with @starbucks Our Customers When we are fully engaged, we connect with, laugh with, and uplift the lives of our customers - even if just for a few moments. AWFUL. Cross the street and hit the 'Bucks at 444 N Michigan. Service consistently sucks. Drinks are consistently forgotten. Corporate should be ashamed of themselves for how poorly this location is run. The servery is consistently disgusting (see my photo of the ice scoop sitting in a puddle of spilled drink). Nasty nasty nasty.

This location was extremely disappointing. The cashier came off as overly rushed despite the short line and was not very friendly. I also asked for a grande Pike with no room and I got a coffee with over an inch of space. As a customer paying over $3 for a simple black coffee, I expect it to be done right. The wifi is also only good for 30min and no plugs were available which was frustrating for getting work done.

Avoid this location. There is a much better Starbucks across Michigan Avenue, less than a block South. I've been here many times and am always disappointed in the slow service. There were four employees standing behind the counter yesterday and only one was actually working. The others were standing around talking. Also, they were out of my breakfast sandwich as well as my back-up choice. They were very nonchalant about it - just stating, "we're out" despite the fact it was morning. My drink, when I finally got it, was sickening sweet and tasted nothing like Pumpkin Spice Lattes I've had at other locations; I threw it out half-way through. With all the Starbucks in this vicinity, there is zero reason to visit this one.

Nothing noteworthy. It's one of your typical Starbucks stores on a busy street. There's not a whole ton of seating area if you're looking for a place to rest or work. Staff isn't particularly friendly either.

I think this location was the inspiration for the SNL satirical starbucks commercial. SOOOooo slow. Bad attitude. Lazy work ethic. It's absolutely the worst Starbucks I've ever even heard of. Always a large group of people waiting for their drinks, even when there isn't a line. Meanwhile the one across the street at 444 n mich cranks through a 20 person line in 5 min. There absolutely has to be a story behind the hiring

Great coffee as usual. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I stopped to meet a client and was able to find a table right away.

The wifi here isn't free; the hotel blocks it. The guests from the hotel come into this Starbucks and hold up the line with stupid questions. They have no place to be and can't fathom that the 20 people standing behind them just want to get their coffee and hop on the 151. Don't go here if you're in a hurry; go across the street to the one next to the Walgreens, half a block north of Illinois. The seating is nice, if you can find a seat. If you manage a seat, it's a great place for people watching. They sometimes have outdoor seating in the summer along Grand avenue. Giving only three stars because the line really is always slow as hell, and the wifi thing really pisses me off. If you're not much of a coffee snob and just want to sit around with some free wifi, go downstairs to the Cosi on Rush & Grand. They aren't as coffee-savvy but the wifi's free, people-watching is great, and the seating is always ample.
