Starbucks Plans Italian Expansion, Opening Two More Stores in Milan | Eater

"Opened last week in Corso Garibaldi as one of two new Milanese cafes following the company’s Milan debut, this cafe is part of a deliberate expansion into a country whose coffee lovers initially reacted with resistance. Management frames the rollout as a medium-term, five-year program carried out with prudence and humility, aiming to combine a well-known international brand with an offering tailored to Italian habits and tastes, and the operator expects to open roughly 15 more Italian cafes per year if the approach succeeds." - Chris Fuhrmeister

Ordered drinks and food, my husband's drink was almost overflowing, and mine was less than full, when we ordered the same drink in our reusable cups. I got HALF the drink we paid for. Seriously? It looked more full on receipt because of the foam, but by the time we got back to our hotel room, the foam was gone and the truth was evident. Not the same as a Seattle SB.

The coffee quality is very poor. I had an iced latte and it tasted burnt. I couldn't even finish it. The only reason to come here is because it has a suitable environment for working, which is hard to find in Milan cafes. Inside is not too big. Its quite in weekdays but busy at weekends.

We order one tall (smallest size) vanilla cream Frappuccino and one venti (biggest size) caramel coffee Frappuccino. The quality is standardized so nothing to add about it, pretty good just like in any other branch. The staff was very friendly and professional. The tables were quickly cleaned after clients left so the next one would find it clean from the first moment. The place is clean in general and the ambiance is nice. I also saw several clients going inside with their dogs and no staff member said anything to them, so I’d say that it is pet-friendly.

I loved that they had an outdoor enclosed seating area that was quiet. I ordered a slice of banana bread that was ice cold. When I asked for it to warmed up, I was given major attitude. I brushed it off because it was extremely busy.

I went here last sunday for breakfast. There were 2 girls who were working. I stood at the counter and greeted them but they did not respond. The cashier JUST STOOD THERE looking at her PHONE for a good minute so i greeted again. She looked so annoyed and put down her phone and got my order. I ordered 2 cappuccino’s and she asked me small medium or large and she was getting paper cups so i told her we wanted mugs because we will drink it there. And she ROLLED HER EYES and asked the other girl if she still had mugs available (WTF) and sounded so annoyed and kept rolling her eyes while taking the rest of my order. I, too, work at a coffee shop in Milan. We’re not allowed to keep using phones when clients enter, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY IN FRONT OF YOU. And we are always taught to keep good attitude with clients. It was 9 in the morning and they were serving only 1 person at the counter. So disappointing.

Is okay, AC doesn't work, they got a super weird system to access WiFi. Drinks came wrong. The crew was attentive, but they are sick to work there...so they are slow as much as they can....Was not a good experience...

Strangely, amongst all the Starbucks in Milan, this store always gives me a very good vibe. It’s also the one with the best music playlist! Several seats with plugs for laptops available. Love coming here on a ‘work from home’ day.

Yelp
One of the 7 Starbucks reserves in the world! They have amazing different flavors! It's busy but the staff is fast efficient and friendly! Highly suggest if you are a coffee fanatic!!

Yelp
It's a convenient place for remote working if you have a craving for a Starbucks coffee, but it's not my favorite SBUX location in Milan. It is in a central location of Corso Como, near Garibaldi, which means EVERYONE will be here. Which includes college kids, families, random tourists, and the like. I got a PSL and one of the refrigerated sandwiches, my only option for food that was savory since everything else had some kind of meat in it. My PSL was not that sweet (the Sbux near San Babila station is the only one that has done it well so far...) and my sandwich was not good at all...some of the bread was dried out, which did not make for a meal I was excited about. Eventually when crowds get their drinks and leave, there still seems to be ample seating for people who want to stay and work. They have a nice patio-ish area with tall windows in the back, where you can see people walking outside while you work.

Yelp
Nice Starbucks location outside of Milano centrale. This was my first time at an international Starbucks and it was fun to see the different food items that they offered. I got the pumpkin cream cold brew and it tasted just as it does at home (Colorado).

Yelp
Starbucks is still pretty new to the Italian market, this location is on Corso Garibaldi and is in a good location. I ended up stopping here for a quick drink, and break to get out of the heat, the interior was nice, it looked modern and similar to what you'd expect from any Starbucks store in the EMEA area, but prices were a little high compared to the UK, it worked out around 10% more before the costs of extras (syrups, extra shots etc) that I'd normally get for free back home as a Gold Starbucks Rewards member. (Sadly international Starbucks cards are not welcomed here, I did not see advertising of a local scheme in Italy) I ordered a peach iced tea, which was fine, it wasn't exceptional though and didn't taste much better than what you could get out of a bottle. The staff were friendly enough and got beverages out quickly. The seating area was comfortable, with a range of seats both outside and inside. PRO TIP: If you're looking for Starbucks while in Milan, check out their Reserve Roastery, which is the only store of its' kind in Europe, the prices aren't much higher than here but the difference in experience between the two stores is night and day. 3*

Yelp
When I was last in Italy (Rome, 2011), there was no Starbucks anywhere in the country. Italians don't drink coffee the "Starbucks way." They don't take their coffee to go and they sure as heck don't walk with it. Well, that seems to have changed and I am sorry. This Starbucks in Milan has the usual Starbucks goodies right down to the paper and plastic to go cups, the whipped cream, the frappucinos and the chocolate sauce drizzle. It's quite sad. As well, the coffee is rather burned. Though the blonde roast isn't too bad. Mi dispiace (I'm sorry). [Review 10706 overall, 474 of 2019.]

Yelp
Good service. Terrible coffee, just as milky and flavorless as it is in the states. At least i got my cups.
