Starbucks Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill - Review - Central District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The upside of this location inside a Central District hospital is it’s handy when you’ve been fasting for 24 hours to prep for a colonoscopy and are absolutely ravished afterward. The downside is that you’ve had a colonoscopy. And your reward will probably just be a dry cake pop for sustenance." - Kayla Sager-Riley

I have to use this medical facility for my health. As one does with hospitals. The service here in the Starbucks is so lackluster. As i already feel ill sometimes I get a coffee to feel a bit better, but these starbucks experiences have made me second guess my choices the staff is unfriendly and bothered by asking for your order.

There are so many great local coffee places in this city that offer better quality coffee and sweet drinks at more reasonable prices. Please go support those local small businesses and craftspeople, as Starbucks coffee is extremely burnt and you will think coffee is meant to be more bitter than it actually is.

Completely absent minded and rude service at this hospital Starbucks. Have been here looking after my father after 5 consecutive heart surgeries, basically have moved into the ICU, and this coffee shop can’t even be bothered to give kind service. To think the amount of grieving and exhausted customers that come through here that get shouldered by these apathetic service workers make me sick. I have had my order messed up several times, been barked at when asked for a cup of ice (“get in line and pay for it”) and waited while the baristas commiserate about personal stories and gossip when waiting in line to order something. This isn’t coming from someone that doesn’t understand their position either - I was a Starbucks “partner” for three years, and you better believe I would break the bullshit Starbucks policy to help a customer in need. Clearly things have changed and they are not sending their best. Would expect better from a hospital location.

Hidden coffee gem! Not very crowdy but with full scale traditional Starbuks service. But really hard to find. Many signs outside but if you come from its back you may not be able to find it without help. We entered through emergency entrance and I asked 3 or 4 times on our way if we were going right way or not. The staff was sweet and helpful, though. So, choose hospital's main entrance if you are shy to ask.

First time in hospital and grabbed egg whites and Cafe Misto. The Barista wrote my name as “Stacy The New Comer” after I told him it’s my first time here. Love this! I’ll be back!

Google
For as busy this store gets they keep it together pretty well. Sometime the "regulars" that order behind you get their order magically before you get yours.... Otherwise they're friendly enough and it's Starbucks

I politely waited 4 minutes to be acknowledged by 4 different employees. I would understand if there was a line or if it was lunch or if it was breakfast. But, it wasn't busy at all. I was the only one in line. I was the only customer in front of the counter for three of those minutes. No one even looked at. Then, I was spoken to, it was "hi" without any feeling or other questions or smile. So, I asked if they could help me. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I would have liked. I didn't have time to decide on something else so I had to leave.

This is hands down the very best Starbucks I've ever been to! I've been here every day for over two weeks with my wife admitted to this hospital! They have the very best service! Both shifts! They have called me by name since day two , and always ask about my wife! This should be a training place for all other Starbucks, and coffee shops! Yelp
Overpriced coffee and food. Slow service. Staff members sounded partying very loud. Could not hear anything but them laughing and taking to each other.

Yelp
OK, I know I sound jaded, but I'm just calling an A-hole as I see them. Not everyone in the world is completely in-tune with Starbucks. That being said, if you come to this place and have ANY questions about the menu, expect to be treated rudely. On their menu, under Cold Infused Teas or something... it lists like 4 options. (Again, under TEAS). So I ask pissy chick what a green something latte tea is. She starts talking about powdered milk, etc. I said, "So, it's not a Tea, it's a latte" She went into a super FAST annoyed bitch routine about the various teas. Complete with attitude. Finally I settled on the cold green tea I wanted. I then asked the relatively nice woman behind the counter, "Where does it show THIS tea I ordered on the menu?" She explained that it doesn't really show it, "It would fall under some category " So, I said that is your problem, and why bitchy pants got in a huff with my questions. (They don't just simply list it as cold tea with various flavors) You are expecting the public to read between the lines and interpret a menu that makes no sense, and you do so with an impatient attitude. And that's why I don't come here unless I'm desperate.

Yelp
Always cheerful and greet me when I come in. Know my name by now and what I usually order. However, they have no problem adjusting to all my specifications when I try to make up a new drink (but that's the beauty of Starbucks, hey?). They're also very respectful and accommodating when it comes to an order mistake (regarding giving refunds, making a new drink, etc.). They are very much centered around the customer service, not the money, which is nice to see from a chain!

Yelp
As many people that work at the Swedish Medical Center Cherry Hill Campus, I'm surprised no one has taken the time to give this particular Starbucks the credit it deserves. This is the Starbucks that I'm a regular at. For one, this particular Starbucks is always busy seeing how it is located inside of a hospital. That doesn't mean you'll wait a long time for your drink at this location however. They are pretty fast at getting orders out, etc while still producing a great drink. The baristas are friendly (male or female), & remember what you order, which is great, if you're usually a regular & consistent with what you order. The store size is about average. It's always clean & uncluttered. Things like sleeves for cups, napkins, coffee stirrers (is that a word? lol), etc are readily available. There's no restroom inside of the store (its a short walk down the hall that leads to the hospital cafeteria) or parking lot directly in front of it like at a normal Starbucks. Remember not to expect that at this location since you're inside of a hospital. In the fast paced environment that is Starbucks, this place nails it in terms of great customer service & great product. Mr. Schultz should give everyone at this location a raise. They exemplify how all Starbucks should operate, & while doing it in a highly stressful, & highly scrutinized environment. Especially when you're clientele can be anyone from say like a doctor with a Ph.D, to your blue collar average Joe.

Yelp
My first stop in the morning: Venti Drip (or Americano... depending on how pooped I am) Venti Ice water Multigrain Bagle with Butter (I hate cream cheese) This is one cool SB! The staff is out of this world cool! I feel the love most of the mornings that I go there. I really love how they offer to warm just about any pastry that I order up! Now if that isnt fine customer service I dont know what is!!!!

Yelp
They get super busy here and the lines gets pretty long to where you have to wait awhile. The sucky part about this place is you only have 2 hours to claim your free coffee refill and they don't honor the Starbucks free rewards but you do get your Starbucks points

Yelp
Usually I think Starbucks is fine. I had my worst experience here today. I'm at the hospital because my boyfriend had a heart attack, I've been here for a couple days. I got a cappuccino this morning @7am, the service was great and the cappuccino just right. I decided I needed a pick me up so I went downstairs to get another one. The cashier was helpful, then came "the drink" the barista obviously had no idea what she was doing. She gave me the wrong drink, a tall very milky latte. I reminded her that my drink was supposed to be a double short cappuccino. She argued with me about it, another girl stepped in and said no problem, she'll remake it, I thanked her. I stood there waiting and waiting and waiting as she made drinks for the 8 people after me. Finally she gave me my drink and guess what......it was a frickin milky latte that was scalding hot and no foam. Passive aggressive B_tch!!!! Someone needs to teach her how to make a cappuccino and she needs a lesson in customer service! I've worked for Starbucks and I know how they expect their drinks to be served. She took my sad day and made me feel worse. Unfortunately, she wasn't wearing a name tag.

Yelp
A family member was in the Cherry Hill campus of Swedish Hospital recently and it was nice to have a Starbucks in the James Tower. I needed caffiene to refuel during the week so it was convenient. It is very busy during the weekdays with alot of hospital staff, family members of patients and people who have appointments at the James Tower medical center. But the service was always great. They have the salads, sandwiches and pastries available here if you wish to have a bite to eat. There are plenty of tables to sit and browse the web and a tv if you want to watch the news. You can also relax in the comfy sofa or chairs by the fireplace. The only thing I didn't like about it here is that they do not refill the napkins and the half and half as often as they should. Other than that, it is okay.

Yelp
Never had anything less than stellar service here. There's plenty of cozy chairs, one group is right near a fireplace (perfect in the winter!). Convenient, fast, and accurate. Everything that you want in a coffee spot!

Yelp
Not too bad, they didnt have much selection for food. I was hungry and I wanted this specific sandwich they usually have in other starbucks, but didnt see it here. Wish there were more options, I know theres a cafeteria somewhere in this hospital but I didnt want to search. But if there were more variety of food to choose from I would up the star on this place. Line can be busy or slow in early mornings, it goes down fast so you wont wait too long.
