"A trip to the State Farmers’ Market wouldn’t be complete without stopping in at the on-site restaurant, which serves up Southern breakfast and brunch classics in the form of hot cakes, omelets, waffles, and more. There is an entire biscuit menu (biscuit and sausage gravy, country ham biscuit, steak ‘o lean biscuit, and it goes on), as well as an extensive offering of country breakfasts, like the fried pork chop breakfast with two eggs. The signature dish is Granny Cone’s sampler and comes with two eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, molasses, sausage gravy, spiced apples, three silver dollar hot cakes, choice of home fries or grits, and choice of toast or biscuits." - Matt Lardie

Got the Fried Chicken Special. Half of a chicken fried to crispy brown goodness. Add 2 sides of your choice and served with biscuits, hush puppies, and a complementary dessert. The fried chicken was southern perfection. I had the deviled eggs and green beans. Both taste homemade like my Granny used to make. Amazing lunch with portions fit for Paul Bunyan. The complementary dessert is a small portion but rich enough to satisfy. We had the banana pudding and the biscuit bread pudding and neither disappointed.

Went for breakfast thinking we were going to have a long wait time on Sunday morning but there was no wait. Our server was Abigail and she was great. She brought out the best hot biscuits that i have had in a long time. My husband had the Marker Country Boy omelet ( I think that's the name), with everything imaginable in it. It was so big, another guest came over to inquire on the name so he could order it. I had the pancakes and bacon, daughter had pancakes and chicken tenders. Everything was absolutely delicious. Only 2 concerns, 1st please check the restrooms more frequently as there was alot of trash on the floor and the to go trays need to be more durable as my husband was taking half his food home and as he was handing it to me to hold, it was heavy and slipped right out my hands, making a mess at the register ( just kidding, it was totally my fault), the staff were great in getting the dropped food cleaned up but no leftovers for him. We will be back for lunch for sure.

I am not a biscuits and gravy expert, but I think The Lord Above must have descended from heaven and anointed the biscuits and turned water into sausage gravy. This meal was a true miracle. The biscuits are made fresh in the kitchen, and it shows; they are the star of the show here, as they should be. If your waitress asks if you want a pre-breakfast biscuit, say Yes! Service was friendly and efficient, and the coffee was endless. What a perfect way to start the day!

Google
Really enjoy going here. I love the veggie platter. All of the veggies are good and fresh plus the biscuit and hush puppies with each order. Never had a bad meal here. The place is always crowded. Sat at the "bar" for the 1st time today. Tons of energy and people moving everywhere. The staff is great!

Google
One of the top breakfast, brunch and lunch spot! People who work there are so friendly! The overall is so cute! The decorations are old southern style and plenty! It has seasonal decorations too! Great time to go in the winter since it is way less waiting time! The biscuits are phenomenal and best in town! Parking is ample most of the time, and in winter plenty! What an enjoyment to sip coffee, tea, have free hot biscuits fresh out of oven, waiting for your food while spending time with your loved ones!! Feel such abundance and joy!

This was my first time coming to the farmers market. I love the building it’s so beautiful the staff were extremely nice when I was getting seated with my family the The menu had many options for everyone. I chose to get the baked chicken off the special menu, and my chicken came out undercooked when asking for a change of my manager did not want to. I had to ask numerous times just to get it taken off when it is seen that it was undercooked. I wouldn’t recommend to get any baked chicken from this place everyone else’s food food came out good they all got breakfast so I would say stick to the Breakfast options

A friend highly recommended this restaurant at the farmers market. We arrived a little after noon on a Saturday and there was a line about 10 deep outside the door. The line did more fairly quickly as we were seated in about 15 minutes. Our server came in a reasonable amount of time given how busy they were and informed us that lunch items may come out quicker than breakfast which was quoted about a 45 minute cook time. The hubby had his heart set on Granny Cone’s Sampler so we ordered that and a homemade chicken salad over salad. The biscuits and hush puppies came first followed by our meals in about 30 minutes. The biscuits were moist but a little chewier than others I’ve had elsewhere and since I’m not a huge fan of hush puppies, I’d say they were my least favorite. The chicken salad was excellent and the hubby enjoyed his sampler with the exception of the sausage gravy, which we both didn’t care for. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was great with a few small preference exceptions, atmosphere was jovial and the value was good. We would recommend this stop!

Google
Step back in time hospitality. NC meats, produce, etc served as much as practicable. Biscuit and hush puppies brought right after you place your order. They were delicious as was the chicken salad and vegetable omelette. They have hot water with lemon on the menu alongside other drinks, superb!

Melody B.

Yelp
A very casual breakfast & lunch spot! The place was big and bright with a ton of indoor seating (there was a small outdoor area too). I kept it simple with one giant hot cake and it came with a biscuit and hushpuppies. The pancake is true as advertised - it was huge! I could not finish the full thing. Hushpuppies were good too, but the biscuit was the true star of my meal. Our server was friendly! The place was completely packed, but food still came out quickly.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Sat at the bar; it wasn't busy. It took the service minimum 10 minutes before I said something since they hadn't acknowledged my existence. They seemed to care more about getting their side work done than actually taking anyone's order. Maybe I came in at a bad time.. Prices have gotten a little crazy but they're nice people and they serve good food and it'sso I keep coming back. It's clean enough. Breakfast for one should not cost dam near 30$ though. Careful drinking the sweet tea. Gut ache central. Not sure how often they clean those things.

Jessica F.

Yelp
Ok, so I was starving when the food hit the table and I ate the entire plate of food before I remembered to take any pictures!!! The food is great and our server (Drew) was phenomenal. Some people are just naturally good at hospitality and he is one of those people. The atmosphere is laid back and while it is loud inside, it's a family place and everyone is very happy! We had a group of 12 and were seated very quickly and we had food very quick too. I was impressed and I would happily go back. Highly recommend.

Sarah B.

Yelp
The place was super cute and delicious! You have to come here for big portions, great seating, and quick service!

Caroline D.

Yelp
Service was friendly with southern charm. Ambiance is a pride of North Carolina Farming and arts. The peaches were more syrupy and not as fresh as expected. The deviled eggs were amazing. The Lima beans and corn was great. Broccoli casserole tastes like it came straight from my grandmas kitchen. The grits were a little plain and not as thick as I'd make them but decent grits for sure. The sunny side up eggs delivered and the biscuits and hush puppies were fantastic favorites of mine. Very buttery and big biscuits. The apple crisp is just like apple pie filling. The biscuit pudding was Delicious. Great low prices for what you get.

Nichole C.

Yelp
This was what I think of when I want breakfast!! I low key do really enjoy Waffle House... BUT if you need the upgrade this is it!! The sampler gets you the whole she-bang!! The meats were delish, the spiced apples brought me back to my Childhood, don't skip the gravy and the homemade biscuits, andddd those pancakes hit the spot! I will say the grits didn't do too much for me lol buttttt that's ok I still enjoyed them. Looking forward to coming back again! I'm gonna definitely need to wear my overalls next time! Haha.

Stephen C.

Yelp
This is always a consistent place for some traditional country breakfast. They run very efficiently given how crowded it can get. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is great and prices are average. Noise level is slightly higher due to large capacity. Always clean and always a good experience.

Katie V.

Yelp
The chicken that came with the chicken and waffles was ginormous. We each enjoyed our meal and our waitress was fast and friendly (and the service was great considering it was really busy too!)

Madeline L.

Yelp
The epitome of southern dining! The interior of this place is bright, colorful, homey - and be sure to look up at the cute paintings on the wall! I've heard this place gets super busy on the weekends, so I was cautious. My family of 5 came on Sunday at 10am and had no problem getting in, but I will note that it was super cold outside so there were probably less people going out haha. We noticed the line built up by the time we left around 11:30. Most importantly, I'm obsessed with the fact that they bring you complimentary biscuits... they're big, fresh, buttery, and just everything you could want in a biscuit. This part makes the whole experience!!! The menu has everything you can think of breakfast-wise, and even some lunch items as well if you're not feeling breakfast foods! I opted for the one egg breakfast meal - no complaints, just classic scrambled eggs, sausage patties, toast, and potatoes (potatoes could have used more flavor/seasoning). I'm a brunch and farmers market lover, so I'll definitely be back. I'd love to try the french toast next!

Daniel K.

Yelp
If you're looking for a full meal while at the farmers market this is the place. We were seated pretty quickly considering it was packed during lunch. The biscuits were fluffy with a crisp and the portions were large

Ann E.

Yelp
My sister treated us to breakfast at State Farmers Market Restaurant on our way to the airport. Love the vibe of this place. Our server brought us fresh, warm, delicious biscuits. They're were huge! I only had half, but really wanted to eat the whole thing! I had corned beef hash (cooked crispy, as requested) and 2 fried eggs with a side of grits. Being from New England, I don't usually see grits on the menu, so I had to give them a try- not bad! Also, don't usually drink iced tea( I chose unsweetened) with breakfast, but, again, when in the south... And, it was bottomless. Service was excellent. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Monica B.

Yelp
I honestly had no idea what to expect when planning to visit. I am so glad I decided to try it out without reading reviews or even checking out the menu beforehand. The food was very good! I can't think of anything I'd change about the food I ordered, other than it could've been hotter. They were BUSY! I believe that's a normal thing for them, especially on the weekends. We (party of 5) arrived at 11 am and was seated around 11:30. We ordered our drinks & food separately. The food was brought to our table a little after 12. (Sharing these details so you don't wait until you're hungry to head that way!) I rated my overall experience 4 stars because our waiter wasn't the friendliest or most welcoming.

Falan E.

Yelp
11/19/2023 Second time at the State Farmers Market Restaurant. I enjoyed the country-style breakfast here. The wait wasn't too bad. Parking was effortless. The hostess was pleasant and welcoming. Our waiter introduced himself. The server took all the table orders accurately. The server seemed a bit hasty with me when I made a special request. This is a busy place and I'm sure this was innocent. I was informed I couldn't order a cheese biscuit with the regular-sized biscuits. I settled on just having the plain biscuit that they bring out for the table. I had the Market Country Boy That Has It All"-Bacon, Sausage, City Ham, Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, and Cheddar Cheese. Very good and I loved that this was heavy on protein. I had a side of okra and decaf coffee. Everything was delicious. No complaints about the food. All the country vibes that I love.

Allan A.

Yelp
This place was packed with hungry diners. It is open for breakfast at 6am (8am Sundays) and closes at 3. Staff is friendly, portions ample. Mt breakfast came with crispy corn beef hash and delicious biscuits. Food skews southern in flavor. The fried chicken looked amazing. The long lines out the door are deceiving as the interior is huge. It will be noisy so be prepared.

Mike M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this experience! The inside had a really cool barn meets college sports fan colorful ambiance. Server/service was fantastic! Ordered the fried Bologna biscuit and can honestly say the biscuit itself was one of the best I ever had (blended buttery biscuit and focaccia). Needed to add mustard to the sandwich. Had to try the "streak o'lean" which was essentially salted pork that was deep fried. Server warned me that it was salty. Glad I tried it. Not something I'd get again but that's not the fault of the restaurant. A few slices plenty for just me but a big basket arrived at the table.

Jessica K.

Yelp
This was my first time here, and it was amazing! My mom said they brought biscuits to the table, which brought us here. They are delicious and buttery. Nice and big too. We came on a Saturday around 9:30 and got seated right away. We were told it is usually busier, but it was a rainy day. I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and breakfast potatoes. I got the gravy on the side, so I can dip it in. The breakfast potatoes are nice and crispy, which is different from most other breakfast places. I didn't like the eggs that much, but I had plenty of other food to eat. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back!

Virginia B.

Yelp
Back again for another amazing lunch. Despite arriving around 12:15 we didn't wait long to be seated. Jessica took really good care of us and was so kind. She had a big table plus several others, so was super busy, but her sunny disposition and constant smile made our lunch even better. We had baked chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, country steak with onions and rice, collards and field peas. Our food came out really fast, especially considering how packed it was. We saved our biscuits to bring home for breakfast tomorrow. Mom said it was the best coleslaw she ever ate and got another side to take home. Both of us ate about half of our meal and brought the rest home . The only thing that was not exceptional was the banana pudding...oh well... We enjoy looking at all the country themed items all over the restaurant and today they had a watermelon on display that weighed over 100 pounds!!! We will be back for sure!

Steve A.

Yelp
The highs, the lows, the buttery middles of the State Farmers Market, at least as far as this restaurant goes - I did not explore the vastitude of other options across the street. First, expect a long wait on weekends. They seat whole parties only, be warned. When I went with my friends, they were first assigned an outdoor table, but my friend practicing on a learner's permit meant we got there a little late, and by the time the little one stopped crying about eating outside, they magically gave us an indoor table! Perhaps that works out in the end. Second, expect a long wait for food. I used the surprisingly clean bathroom - and the whole place is quite clean overall - for quite some time and the food was still not there. However, the most friendly waiter kept our drinks (teas and waters) filled without us even asking for the most part, and kept our table with biscuits as needed. And those biscuits. Amazing, giant, crisp on the outside but smooth and fluffy on the inside. I had my doubts about Biscuitville before now but this proves I never need to go back to one of those again if I desire biscuitude. It's here. Finally, the food itself? Be warned it is generally not seasoned. It is to you to add salt, pepper, hot sauce, or sweet sweet molasses. Mmmmmm. That's quite a perk. I used molasses + hot sauce on my biscuits for the ultimate flavor combo, and pretty much did the same thing to my hash browns as well. (And the potatoes did have some flavor, probably from oil that seared past potatoes.) I grabbed two biscuits and made sandwiches out of my country ham platter - as has been noted in other reviews, you're not wanting for portion size. In the end, the 5th star is missing for two reasons. One, as much as I enjoy this place, it's a royal pain to get seated during busy hours, and that's a drawback to wanting to come here more often. Two, I would like to see a little flavor added, even if it's just a touch of salt here or pepper there to balance things. I don't trust the average consumer to balance spices in their own foods quite right. Would I come back again? Absolutely 100%, but only with plenty of time to spare.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
We don't live nearby but always make a point to stop in when we can. Food is always delicious and comforting. We love the ode to North Carolina and its agricultural history inside and out. My husband had the corned beef hash with grits, eggs and red eye gravy. I opted for the bologna biscuit with egg and cheese. My husband managed to eat all of his but mine was almost as big as my head so I only could eat half. Not a bad deal for only $10, though! Chris was our server and he was pleasant, attentive and thorough. Definitely a great spot to bring friends and family from out of town or just to have an enjoyable, southern meal when in the area.

Chris H.

Yelp
Another egg, bacon, potato and biscuit review here. The last time I was here was pre-pandemic (2019?), when I stopped in for lunch when I had some business in the area. This place serves down home country fare for both breakfast and lunch. The portions are sizable and you will leave with a full stomach. We came in after garland shopping Monday morning at the market. I went with the Cowboy Omelette with bacon, and hash browns. My wife went with the Veggie Omelette, with grits and a side of bacon. We both got the biscuits. The food came out quick, it was fresh, the coffee was good and the place was bright and clean. Definitely as how I remember it. They get a good crowd here. We came in for a late breakfast at 10:30 and by 11:00 the lunch folks started coming in. By the time we finished most of the tables were taken and the place was noticeably busier. Good stuff, check it out if you happen to be at the NC State Farmer's Market.

Debbie B.

Yelp
You may have to stand in line for a bit but worth the wait; food always tastes great & staff always pleasant.

Bill H.

Yelp
We, three of us, went for breakfast on a Saturday and it was busy but we didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes. Great country style food and service at a good price. Winner winner chicken dinner..... ummmm breakfast.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Homestyle offerings for breakfast and lunch. Nothing is seasoned, eggs, home fries, meats. So the menu is great for any palate. Add your own seasoning from the condiment tray at the table. Pepsi products. Their biscuits are the star here. Large. Hot. Soft. Flaky. Whether you butter it, use molasses or Jelly, you will want another. They provided a basket upon ordering, and if you want toast with your meal, you can have it as well. The "real famous" biscuits. Staff friendly and helpful to anyone not just "their" table. The server kept up with beverage refills and checking on us. It was busy. Various ages from families to ladies who brunch. I enjoyed the hamburger steak with 2 eggs, home fries, and rye toast. The rye toast was thick sliced and fresh. The only complaint is that they don't butter the toast. Luckily, we had butter left from the biscuit basket, but by then, the toast was not quite warm enough to melt the butter. My guy had 2 eggs, link sausage grits, and said everything was good. Link sausage was a bit dry, but had good flavor. Menu had half a page of lunch items, as they close at three.

Valerie K.

Yelp
I was hoping to find a farmers market in the area and if you're looking for some southern goodies to take back for the fam, this is it. They have lots of pickled veggies cured meats and much more. You can't go wrong with stopping here.

Shamara H.

Yelp
State Farmers Market has come up several times when searching for breakfast rescommendation so I figured I would give it a try this fine Sunday morning! Since this was a solo visit I opted to grab and seat at the counter and I am glad I did (counter seats 14 people). I would also recommend this place for large and small parties. They have ample seating options. The service was great from beginning to end. Chris provided EXCELLENT service. He had great energy and provided good suggestions for things to try. I landed on the cornbeef hash and eggs. So here is what you need to know about my first visit... Biscuit: This is a must try! Can I say I am a sucker for biscuits and this place did not disappoint. That was one damn good biscuit! Meal: The cornbeef hash was cooked to prefection...ask for it well done/a little crispy. The grits were just ok, and needed little salt. Coffee: It works!

Chris K.

Yelp
Generous portions of delicious country food served in a fun building next to the farmers market. Amanda was our server and was *simply perfect* -so efficient, attentive, kind and welcoming....they're lucky to have her - what a special place! If you haven't visited this Raleigh institution yet, please consider it-you won't be disappointed!!!

Lily S.

Yelp
Love this spot for breakfast, the biscuits are incredible and it's so lovely to sit outside. Only recommendation is using some fresh jam or honey from the farmers market to accompany the biscuits instead of the packages .

Allison B.

Yelp
Excellent service. Very friendly. Their French toast was to die for. Biscuits are nice & flaky too.

Kristina A.

Yelp
Biscuits! Seriously they are the best! The dining room is laid back and casual. The service staff is always friendly. Portions are large and the food is delicious. Just what you'd expect when visiting the south. My husband got the chicken and waffles. The chicken is a legit half a chicken! You also must check out the venders at the farmers market after your meal at the restaurant.

Dave U.

Yelp
We had heard how great the breakfast was, so we decided to give it a try. Very disappointed and wished we had gone elsewhere. We were there on a Sunday around 10. They were busy, but we were still able to get a table with a little wait. The service was good, but the food was subpar. The eggs were totally dry and the home fries were just tasteless fried potatoes. They did have pretty good biscuits. By the time we left, the line was out the door and I have no idea why so many people would flock to this place. We won't be back....much better options around the area.

Kerwin T.

Yelp
Food is okay. Go for the daily special as it comes with 2 sides, best deal! Very clean and service is good! They'll serve you biscuit n hush

Kellie D.

Yelp
All the years I've lived in Raleigh I've never been to the State Farmers Market restaurant. My husband surprised me with a Sunday birthday brunch inviting our kids and good friends. There were 9 of us and the line was out the door but we were seated in less than 30 minutes. Waitress immediately took our drink orders and brought out baskets of huge, fluffy biscuits and hush puppies. I'm gluten free but I was sure tempted but everyone else at the table scarfed them down, loving the blackstrap molasses to put on them. I ordered the Wolfpacker omelet and home fries. It was absolutely delicious. I make a lot of omelets at home so am often disappointed by them at restaurants when they are bland but this one definitely was not. Potatoes were cooked perfectly crispy. Picky youngest son ordered the chicken and waffles and was a little surprised when his chicken was half a bone in fried chicken and not a boneless breast but he still ate it. Looked good to me! Overall we had a great experience.

Kristi W.

Yelp
Lots of fresh veggies and good food! Friendly folks and lots of parking available. I do suggest getting there early. Maybe when it opens. It gets busy fast. It's mostly outside vendors, but there were a few in the back that were indoors. I had breakfast at the on-site restaurant, and it was delish!

Kellie S.

Yelp
Worth a stop while checking out the farmers market. Biscuits absolutely delicious. Other fried items such as hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, and potatoes seemed a little "greasy" flavored vs any actual seasoning or salt. Not terrible, but not the best. Country fried steak was delicious. Place is bustling in busy times, but overall fun atmosphere, servers and staff were very friendly, attentive, and food came within minutes despite it being a full dining room.

Christina H.

Yelp
What in the Whole Hog is up with their bacon? The bacon looks like the bacon they serve at complimentary continental hotel breakfast buffets. They should be ashamed of themselves to serve this when NC prides itself on pork. Service was great as always. This is the first time I've ordered bacon here and it's pitiful. The dog liked it, though.

Anne S.

Yelp
What a wonderful farmers market! I had no idea how big it was, the myriad products available, and the fact that it's open every day. So many wonderful vendors and products in a nice covered outdoor facility. It's like summer every day here!

Krista B.

Yelp
SO GOOD... the biscuits were the best I've ever had. The fried chicken was juicy and not dry at all. Loved the southern sides too! Sweet tea was great. The service was very nice and attentive!

Shawn T.

Yelp
Big wide open multilevel market. Fresh fruits, vegetables, food, flowers, and almost anything that you can imagine all from local vendors. They have detached restaurants that are worth trying as well. I try to come here every time I'm passing thru the area. Buy local!

JP S.

Yelp
Been coming here for years and the service and food have always been consistent. Ambiance is fitting for this farmers market themed restaurant. The omelette is stacked with fresh crisp veggies and the right amount of cheesy. The BEC Sandwich made to perfection with a slice of cheese on both sides and bacon that had the perfect amount of crunch. Corned beef hash is always made to perfection and their biscuits are delectable. If you haven't been, make plans to go on a weekend and after breakfast go check out what the farmers market has to offer!!

Lee L.

Yelp
Great prices and great food, some of it is hit or miss but the biscuits are the best biscuits I've ever had. I recommend the chicken fried steak, omelette, and chicken waffles. I do not recommend the pork chops. Overall best breakfast/brunch place near NC state

Sarah P.

Yelp
There's a lovely home style, old fashioned diner food restaurant on the grounds of the Farmer's Market in Raleigh. When we showed up on a Saturday morning, there was a bit of a line for tables but we were seated quite promptly. The bottomless coffee and the biscuits basket were delicious. I had the garden omelet with home fries, which was alright but not great. Overall I loved the atmosphere and the concept but felt my omelet fell a little short. Everyone else loved their food though so it may have just been my selection.

Jordan C.

Yelp
Definitely a great southern breakfast no doubt. Stopped in, there was a long line but it moved quickly. Service was good but the food was a great rendition of southern breakfast. Prices were on par with what the portion size and the food was great.

Lexi M.

Yelp
Not the best service and not the best environment, particularly on Saturdays when it's packed. The food is good but there's honestly not much flavor to anything I've had. Their biscuits are shwae for sure, and I really liked their home fries this time around. I will say that the chicken is pretty dry unfortunately. It would be nice if it was better quality but at the same time what I got is what I expected. And everyone who goes there usually seems to enjoy it. Just depends on what you're wanting.

Izaiah R.

Yelp
Amazing food Chris is an amazing server here highly recommend you ask for him. He was very attentive and welcoming if your in the area definitely check this place out.

Jeanita O.

Yelp
I ordered a regular size jumbo shrimp platter. The platter includes 10 fried shrimp, fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. I was disappointed because the shrimp were rubbery and chewy, small, and lacked flavor. I wasted $18 on this bland I do not recommend this restaurant. I have been disappointed too many times after ordering different meals in the past. I could have eaten better seafood from Carolina Fish Fry, Jack's, or Red Lobster...I'm over it; no return for me!

Davina W.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times for an annual company holiday breakfast. Each time the food was good and was plentiful. One thing I definitely should not be eating but can not pass up anytime I come here is the homemade biscuits. These are freshly made melt in your mouth biscuits. You definitely can eat two and not feel guilty (actually I did but hey I'll work extra hard to burn them off). We came by close to 11am on a Sunday and the line was already out the door. (SN: they close at 3pm on Sundays) They do not have a waitlist, but the line moves pretty fast. It's a nice size restaurant but they fill up pretty quick. After being seated our server came over and asked for drink orders and gave us time to look over the menu. After placing our order a few minutes later she brought over the biscuits and hush puppies. I didn't try the hush puppies bc I was focused on the biscuits lol but my friend and husband said they were good as well. Now it did take a very long time for our food to arrive, like 45 minutes long time, which not sure why it took that long when it was mainly quick breakfast items. We noticed others that had actually ordered lunch items were receiving their food rather quickly even though they arrived after us, but I digress. Our food finally came and overall it was good, but my husband and his friend ordered the Granny Cone's Sampler and they both stated the ham was way too salty (real country ham) so they didn't eat that. I ordered the Ms. Carol's Wolfpacker! and added mushrooms and jalapeños with home fries as the side (very bland for my liking so I didn't like them at all). The omelette was huge that I couldn't finish in one setting. My friend ordered the two eggs with sausage. Overall you receive very generous portions so you may have leftovers. We did notice a few people had ordered the fried chicken which I'm guessing was half of a chicken because it was huge! It looked very good but I've learned bc it looks good doesn't mean it will taste good, but I do plan to give it a try if we visit again. You definitely have plenty of options for breakfast and lunch so you will not be disappointed. Do prepare for a wait if you come on the weekend but as stated the line moves very quickly.

Yelp
Neither of my recent experiences have been positive. Last time, we waited 2 hours for our food. This time, I ordered fried pork chops and they were so tough I could barely chew them. On top of that, they were so greasy that the breading was getting soggy and falling off. I was expecting some good southern cooking and was thoroughly disappointed. My sides were meh; greens were okay and the "mixed fruit" was just a bunch of melon. In my experience, eating here is not worth it.

Yelp
Jessica cheerfully and promptly took our order tableside and made us comfortable. This Rainy day lunch is started with a refreshing Arnold Palmer, hot hush puppies, hot cathead biscuits with butter, and some Smuckers jellies. The main course is Gypsy's famous Barbeque Chicken Quarter, fried okra, cucumber salad, collard greens with Texas Pete Pepper vinegar, crowder peas, a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, Southern style iced tea. There was a full house today but tables are spaced apart and you have plenty of room. Restrooms are clean, handicapped parking out front with access to front door. Checkout with Android Cellphone Pay and iPhone Pay for a fast paperless process. Dessert is delicious Peach cobbler and bread pudding. I had to order 2 pints of collards to take home for supper later and the other pint I dropped off and a friends home. Hand Sanitizer at the entrance and exits. Good comfort. Food that warms your soul when you want a good sitdown meal at lunch in lieu of fastfood.

Yelp
We recently checked out State Farmers Market Restaurant after hearing so many people talk about their biscuits. And boy were they right about them. They are so buttery and moist and in all honesty (and while not healthy) I could make a meal of just biscuits. lol I like how they bring out 2 complimentary biscuits but do wish they would bring the ones that are part of your meal at the time your meal comes out. I just have to remember to ask that they do that the next time we are there. The same thing with the gravy. I got the 2 eggs with bacon and home fries and the bacon...best bacon at a restaurant ever!!!!! Perfectly crispy. Not overly salty. Just perfection! The home fries were good but nothing special. The hubs got the chicken fried steak & gravy and felt it was just...okay. A little on the dry side and "not very memorable" as he now says. It wouldn't be something he would order again but would definitely go back to try other menu items. I love the country vibe and felt that I was dining in a southern Grandma's kitchen. The staffs uniforms made me giggle and overall just enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring more of the menu.
