Go-to neighborhood spot that stays until relatively late. 6 stars for service and specifically Paolo- always polite, smiling and great service -2 stars for the bouncers: poor attitude, rude with the illusion that they have authority. It would be great if they can get real; ID reading barely makes them different that the rest of us - haha 5 stars for the beer: great draft and bottled variety 5 stars for the music! Overall 4 stars, just because the bouncers kill the vibe.

A staple of the 7 line. Classic Queens dive bar littered with shamrocks and Mets swag. Awesome spot for fans to gather and watch a home game. Decent beer line up, pool table and darts. You can't do wrong!

Old time neighborhood dive bar. Good variety of songs on the jukebox. Drinks are a good price and the bathroom is clean. It has a pool table but no one is playing yet. What more can you ask of a dive bar? For me, the only negative is that you can't run a tab. For me it's easier to get a tab after I finish drinking that way I see what I owe altogether and give the tip accordingly. Calculating what you owe and the tip after each round is a Pain in the You Know What. Also it was daytime and not busy so how hard could it be to write down the drinks one is having. Anyway that's just me. It's a good place to go for some affordable drinking and people watching. This bar remains a good, clean and affordable dive bar with great prices.

One of the oldest bars in Woodside and it hasn't changed in many years which makes it a local legendary dive bar. Great staff and a diverse clientele make this a great place to have a pint at anytime of day. Among the best Guinness pints in NYC. Located just under the Woodside-61st St. train stop, it's a great stop before and after Mets games! The Station is great for what it is. A must visit when in Woodside.

Ah here this is a feckin hidden gem.Off the 7 train on 61st Street Woodside & down the stairs across the road look out for the Irish,American & County Offaly flags. It's a great bar & once ya meet Paddy "Da Biffo" who's the owner you'll settle in grand.Paddy's on point with the banter & will keep yer drink filled no bother at all. Irish sports bar for locals at a train station to get a beer or a well cocktail. If all you want is a beer and a game on the TV, this is your place. Have a pool table, too.

The bartender in this place is amazing! I'd give all the stars just for him. He's extremely personable, friendly, and helpful. If I ever find myself stranded at Woodside at night, I'd come back again just for him. There aren't many late night bars open around the area, and out of the few that are, this is definitely the best one. Yes, the atmosphere is very divey and they don't have too much of a variety of drinks. But the service, at least, is top notch, which is a reason they have so many regulars. A lot of interesting people gather here, so just make the most of it if you are stranded in the area. It's cheap, drinks are strong, service is good, and the people watching is on point. Pretty much the best you can expect from a dive bar minus it being cash only.

Great. Freaking. Bar. I came here a handful of times over the years. Was never a regular and never felt like an outsider. The staff and the many loyal patrons are all fantastic. Since reopening after the NYC covid shutdowns I've popped by a few times for socially distanced to go drinks. First class operation even if it is an affordable "dive". I highly recommend grabbing a beer if you're passing through or posting up with some friends if you're looking to drink the time away. Heck I'd probably buy you a round.

I know I know.. I've been getting a lot of heat since writing my first review about my first experience at Station Cafe. Perhaps it wasn't fair to base a review off of one experience, but sometimes that's all you get. And lucky for Station Cafe I've given them multiple chances and they've proven me wrong. The 2 major problems I had before were the smelly bathroom (haven't gone near it still), and the huge guy-girl fights I witnessed. And let me also point out that I am not "a woman who looks completely out of place in Woodside" and have lived here for 4 years, and I've seen a lot. I love a good dive just like anyone else, but something I do not approve of in ANY bar anywhere is to see women getting hit by men. Pretty sure THOSE fighty people got off the train at the wrong stop and were just plain stupid, haven't seen anything like that in Station Cafe in the multiple times I've visited since. In fact, I've had very awesome experiences. Getting to know some of the locals, playing pool (and kind of kicking ass), and saddling up at the bar enjoying Magners with excellent friendly service from Tony. So much charm, so much to love.

Came here for a quick drink. The bar was full but the rest of the place was empty (pool, standing room etc). Looks like the bar was full of regular drinkers. The waitress was nice and I was happy with my drink.

Great place for a quick one before getting on bus. Bartenders are real nice; even if I just need to use the restroom.

Not as bad as it looks. We came in here on a dare. This place looks like the it would be voted "Most Likely to Host a Bar Fight" with its grimy windows from the LIRR tracks overhead and the shady gypsy cab drivers waiting outside. But we'd been day drinking for most of the day, so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Station cafe turned out to be very similar to other NYC dive bars. The narrow room, abused furniture and the small crowd of jaded drinkers by the bar is something that you'll see anywhere. The barely legal boys playing pool was a bit of a throw back, but the inevitable drunk and the probable prostitutes fit right in. By the time we were ready to leave, I was having a discussion with the bartender (who was Irish, obviously) about how limited UFC fighting was in a bar. So if you're in Woodside, don't be afraid to visit the Station. They won't fight you, but they will be thinking about it. Have fun. G

I'm far from a Dive Bar girl but this place is so right up my alley. Filled with crazy Irish men and drunks (beware of the dancing man), you're sure to be entertained. It's been around since forever and looks like it but that's the charm. Who doesn't miss old seedy NY bars? A BIG thank you to Patty the bartender for saving my friend and I from the crazy Rikers man and keeping the Magners flowing!!! You're a lifesave love!

I love this place. It's what a bar is meant to be - no pretense, no ritz, no remote effort to cover up the fact that you are going out to drink yourself to an adequate level of sedation. I'd guess that Station Cafe was last redecorated around 1973, and even then it was just addition of a couple new posters to the walls. What I like most is that the bartenders are fantastically friendly, always remember your name, mix a mean drink and are eager to keep you drinking. This is definitely not the place to go if you are seeking multitudes of draft beer options (there ain't none) or lots of drink mixers from a handy spout (they use 2 liter bottles). It's just a basic bar of the variety that is becoming increasingly rare in this city.

A great spot to grab a drink and just hangout. An old school classic queens bar, bar tenders are great. Pool table for a game. The place has changed very little since I was a kid short of all the flat screens and a modern jukebox. I love this place, a nice crowd you can have a conversation with and not too loud, highly recommend!

I came here on a Tuesday after work with one of my work friends. We just wanted a comfy spot to chill with a beer or two and that is definitely what we got. I don't know that I would describe this place as a dive bar in the typical sense. It's just an old, Irish bar that feels a lot like the workers and other older Irishmen that fill it. It's a place that seems unaffected by time, with the exception for the yellowed papers and dusty bits around the place. The bartender Patty is a solid dude. Like someone else said, you come for a cold beer and maybe some whiskey, but if you don't know that walking in here, there's no helping you. It's also been said, but it's cash only.

First of all CASH ONLY... I know how it looks from the outside but you have to be inside the bar to see the real beauty. Typical Irish bar with a Irish crowd. I think I was the only one who wasn't Irish. Bartenders are super, specially Patty. Drinks are cheap with regular beers at the tap.

been coming here with a local friend for the last few months, and it reminds me of my dive bar back home. i love it! bartenders and regulars are so friendly, the drinks are priced right, and i always have a good time. but be aware: it is CASH ONLY! there's an ATM at the DD next door, if needed :)

Walked into the bar and sat for about 5 minutes before I was acknowledged. The bartender was eccentric and nice, but I be damned if there was even a splash of vodka in my vodka and soda. It literally didn't even have a remote hint of vodka in it. Not sure what the deal is, but I won't be coming back.

Recent renovations have made the bathrooms much more pleasant. Drinks are still a bargain.

This bar is clean and straight forward with many local regulars. The staff is accommodating and owner very nice. It's also in a great location, conveniently placed under the 7 train and plenty of cabs across the street to take you where you need to go... And the girls restroom was immaculate for a bar.

Station "Cafe" has a special place in my heart. It's a dive bar and you don't see them in NYC anymore. It's dark, quiet and there is always a game on. The drinks are cheap and plentiful. You want a cosmo or a fancy mixed drink? Not the place for you. Go to Manhattan and party with the bridge and tunnel crowd. It's under two train tracks (the LIRR and 7 Train) but it's quiet. The bar tender is friendly and quick to strike up a conversation. I hope places like this stay open in this Starbucks & Purell world. This place had it's 15 minutes of fame in Entourage when Johnny Drama bought out the bar and opened up his own place.

Music so loud it's distorted, this dive bar is filled mostly with senior citizens recalling days when you could buy a quarter with a nickel.

Love this place. Where else can you find someone to put $50 worth of credits into the Jukebox and let you play whatever you want?

Some three years go's Jimmy my bartender wonderful man served me and yes others super, he's no longer there but hoping The Station Has Keep its longest tradestation on the Woodside avenue station below!

"cafe" is a fun bit of hyperbole, but who cares! This place had always looked (from the outside) like the kind of place where a record would scratch if anyone female or under 40 years old walked in. Thankfully we gave it a shot and had a great time. There's good music, lotsa space, Tony took good care of us behind the bar, and one of the old timers even said he was glad to see young people there. Overall the place has a great rust belt feel to it that makes you feel like you're in Allentown or Erie or Akron or Rochester. It's the kind of place that you almost see in NYC but there it is, under the tracks; a smudge on the face of a diamond. I'm glad it's there.

I love Station Cafe! It is a laid back bar that has cheap drinks and a pool table. The service is great...you gotta love a bartender that knows your name and is nice enough to chat with you!

this is the epitome of a dive bar,one of the few if not the only bar left in nyc with the double doors,just ask any of the old timers what that means,strange interesting people come here and work here,surprising who one might meet like truly surprising,whilst I rarely get to woodside and even then it would not have been a place that i would go to simply because I forgot about it,however years ago a lovely beautiful young friend of ours died and everyone came here after the wake and I truly will never forget how kind and nice everyone was and how much better they made everyone feel before the drinking started and how they honored Caroline.BTW I only know this place as Breslin and Sweeneys.

The exterior of the building is not welcoming at all but once you make the brave step of going through the front door you will experience service second to none in nyc. It's a "what you see is what you get" kinda bar. No bullshit. Just a really cool friendly place to spend a few hours chilling or socializing with friends. Its a bar you can go to and be yourself. Once Tony the bar tender gets to know you, you are a friend for life. What an amazing dude!! I spent a lot of great nights in the bar and enjoyed every last one of them. There are lots of glitzy, modern bars in woodside but this is the only bar with real character. I love the fact they haven't redecorated since the 1970's. The decor or lack of it is what gives it the edge. It's a real bar for real people. If you're passing you should give it a try, you may just be surprised.

I used to think was purely a Viet Veterans Bar and I always had a quiet respect when I passed it, but then a friend asked me join for a beer one day and showed me the old NY saloon feel of the place. Wow, am I glad he did. This was the definitive pub experience for us. Real Old New York Saloon Type Feel. with years of stains, abuse, and memories on the walls. The bartenders were friendly, the drinks decently priced, and the seating areas comfortable enough. We spent a good part of the afternoon one Easter week one day, out of the cold, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Aside from the bathroom door needing a new latch we could ask for nothing more. There was even a very good impromptu trad session going on up front ..... we are sold!

I went in here after a day out walking around getting to know the area. As a Brit it was perfect (i like to drink cider and they have magners in cans and bottles). the clientelle were not overly friendly but I think thats just nyc. the bartender was absolutely great (speaking from having been a bartender) and I felt welcome and safe throughout, despite having a pretty seedy looking guy sat next to me drinking round after round of guiness with a whisky on the side. Loads of TVs showing sport and just an all round great atmosphere, the regulars know each other, and are really friendly with each other. i may become one of them....

The station Café is a great place of interest. Lots of good clients and a great variation of music and staff as well!! I am not fortunate to go their on a daily basis, but, whenever I am there I have a tremendous time! Also the neighborhood is a fantastic representation of Queens, The Irish, and New York. I would suggest that if you are in the vicinity you should visit there.
