They have a nasty habit of sitting on the mail and saying they received your rent payment late so they can charge extra fees. If you rent from them get a signature on any rent delivered via check. When your rent is 1 day overdue they also like to come around and post a three-day eviction notice on your door. I'm sure there are worse landlords but I have yet to meet one. Place: Civic Plaza Apartments, Boise Idaho When you fire and replace the current managers I will believe you since multiple letters to Steadfast have gone unanswered.

Their apartments are filthy. When you try to talk to your leasing office, nothing changes. When you try to talk to corporate, they send you to voicemail and delete it. Disgusting conditions. They allow trash to pile up around the property and attract pests. They leave equipment broken for years. They used to power wash the apartment but stopped and there's literal s*** on the walls. I'm embarrassed to live in a Steadfast Management property.

I have lived at their apartment complex here in Knoxville going on 5 years. This past year we've had three managers and at the present time we don't have one and maintenance I think is down to one. The electric gates at the front today are not working and could not get in. I've had a maintenance request in since last Wednesday and they still have not honored it. And this thing of charging tenants $30 a month for garbage pickup at our door is a joke. If this is not resolved I will contact an attorney.

Steadfast Living Management company has a horrible move out process. My boyfriend and I have moved out of the Carrington at Champion Forest apartments in Houston, TX 77069. We were told we would be emailed the move out charges. After two months of having moved out, never hearing anything on charges, I received a call from IQ Data (a debt collection agency) stating we owe them over $1,000 in charges and if we do not pay immediately it will go against our credit. I brought this up to the apartment manager. She was on maternity leave when we moved out, so she had to look into what her staff did while she was gone. Her name is Cassi and she has been extremely helpful. She adjusted our charges, which were $225. However, we still have yet to be told from the collection agency that we do not owe over $1,000 anymore. I asked the manager of the apartment complex why we were sent to collections and not sent a bill to give us a chance to pay off what we owe instead of getting calls from a collection agency twice a day to pay an amount we do not owe, and threaten our credit. She said that is just how they do business. Once a resident moves out, they no longer have a way to track funds, so they send the file to a collection agency. I feel this is a horrible procedure and is ruining people's credit. I have never heard of any apartment complex sending files straight to a collection agency after move out. That is a ridiculous process and I just want to voice my opinion on the matter. Because of this, I would never recommend an apartment complex that is managed by Steadfast Living to anyone, nor will I ever reside in an apartment managed by them again. It has been a horrible and disappointing experience. Cassi is the only one I can count on to help. But I understand the procedure she has to follow is not her fault. That is just how she has to proceed.

I have done business with several people from many different places across the states in my professional career. Keri Fields is a terrible community manager. She has no empathy and has decided to pass on costs onto a tenant. I moved into a one bedroom apartment and the carpet was full of pet hair. No biggie. I cleaned and vacuumed myself. The Drip pans were used and dirty. No biggie. I don’t cook. The oven was not clean. The tub was not in good condition and they have had several plumbing issues. Keri Fields lacks integrity and she does not understand what a good business relationship means for the company she represents. If this is what steadfast stands for, I will make sure I spread the word about my experience. Hopefully it will make more future customers aware of what to expect if they decide to do business with Steadfast properties.

I've had no luck in getting anyone to fix the holes in my apartment for almost a week now since my neighbor and I had water leak issues. This is not the first time I've had water leak issues. This time I'm left with holes cut out of my hallway, kitchen, furnace room and guest bathroom ceiling and walls. I asked the manager if she would discount my next months rent since I've had so many issues with water leaks over the past 6 years and her response was " We don't do that". For the price I pay for rent and on time I might add, they have made it ubundantly clear they don't care how long I have to live with holes in my apartment. I will be looking for a new place to live since they don't care about their tenants. The previous owners of the property had more regard for the tenants then this new company ever will. I will have to say that ever since Steadfast Management bought the property, they have let customer service fall by the waste side. The property that I live at is Harrison Place Apartments in Indianapolis, Indiana. I love living here but I refuse to pay high rent to a company that doesn't care about the quality of the units, property or their tenants.

If i could give no stars I would. We have only lived in a Steadfast property for under 3 months. I wish i had listened to the reviews and chose not to move into this property. My property has no maintenance workers at the moment which causes issues like the fact my AC has not been fixed in over 2 weeks. I have contacted corporate yet nothing has been done. Now it is Saturday a weekend an no one is answering the emergency hotline as my house in Houston, TX which the heat without the heat index is 105 degrees. DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TOO The security gate has been broken since we moved in, and nothing is being done to fix it. The pool breaks and turns green more than 2x a week. If we are paying to live in Luxury then it should show.

This company is trash. I have been having an ongoing issue with a barking dog in the apartment complex I live in Hoover Alabama. The leasing office staff is rude and have been ignoring the issue. I have been calling corporate for two weeks and no solution to the problem . But we still have to pay you right? Nasty company with zero values . So sad you don't care about situations that are stressful and affect your daily life . I will NEVER recommend anyone to get involved with this people . Steadfast you need to get it together and start calling people back instead of leaving your useless responses on reviews . Get to work !

Yelp
Steadfast is a total joke and a waste of space. I had bamboo shades and wind chimes hanging up on my patio. This was how my patio had been since just after Steadfast bought the property I now live at. I have been at this property since November, 1993 - most of that in my current unit. About 2 weeks ago, I received a note taped to my door informing me that my wind chimes and bamboo shades had to come down "per my lease." I called my manager and told her that when Steadfast bought this property, there was NO SUCH THING in my lease - Steadfast is backpedaling on the truth. My manager went on to say that if a criminal were to hide in my patio at night, law enforcement wouldn't be able to find the criminal because of my bamboo shades. Pretty low stock Steadfast has in those sworn to protect and serve. I told my manager that Steadfast is full of it. Today, not only do I get a 2nd notice on my door about this, my manager also emailed me about it. So, I let her know to not worry her pretty little head, I have things well under control here, I know how to run my household, and if I need anyone's help - let alone Steadfast's - I will let her know. I also let her know that Steadfast is starting to become an HOA. I've talked with their regional office in Irvine, CA before on various things. They should know better by now than to mess with me. Steadfast - BITE ME!!!

Yelp
Has got to be the worst management company in the world. Took 3 calls and 2 visits just to get the answer to a credit check. Had no issue with the apartments across the street. Credit fine and very responsive. Carla had a bad attitude the entire time and as soon as I mentioned my ESA ( Emotional Support Animal), she might as well have shredded the application in my face. There goes their extra $750 (two dogs) + extra $100 per month. If you have an ESA, mention it after you've been approved. IMHO - this place is out for your money. Nothing special about the units that you cannot find up one side of Warner and down the other.

Yelp
Ozzy the office manager is the most despicable, racist, homophobic, dismissive, condescending person I have ever dealt with. Literally the rudest manager. Refused to fix a broken heater in November and claimed I was miss using the maintenance hotline. It's funny- after I reached his boss who was very understanding- a couple days later they fixed my heater and it's been working fine since last year. Now however- he refuses to honor a lease renewal offers to me by corporate and claims it's because of behavior- another condescending attitude experience with him. I have never been written up before, I have never broken lease rules. I take a lot of pride in my apartment- an immaculate garden I worked hard on, they neighbors All love me, I decorate for all the holidays for the kids in the area, I pass out gift bags for Halloween christmas and Easter, I've never had police here, I don't drink or use any substances, he's legit holding a grudge that I spoke to His boss to fix a problem He refused to do. Not honoring a lease renewal in the middle of a pandemic? It's heartless, soulless and shows his true character. Lack of morale. He couldn't list one thing I've ever done wrong here and refuses to tell me his reasoning. I know it's because I'm a Caucasian gay effeminate male. There is one nice lady in office- named Keri- she's a sweetheart but she was Banned by him from talking to me or giving me a reason why I'm not allowed a lease renewal. She said to me she really needs this job. I have experienced this guys bullying and I wouldn't be surprised that this is who this man is inside and out of office. My neighbors signed a letter for me stating I have been an amazing neighbor and they are very disappointed and surprised that my lease renewal wasnot honored. People at corporate seem much more professional than Ozzy. Putting someone out to the streets because he has no heart? Despicable.Think twice!

Yelp
This is the worse management company I have ever dealt with. They have apartment managers that do not care about the tenants needs or the ability to manager properly. They must only care about the investment side of the company definitely not the management side.

Yelp
Don't rent from this company they have fraudulent behavior! I rented an apartment from them approximately four years ago. Today I found out they put a $1300 collection on my credit report. When I contacted them to find out what the issue is no one can tell me why and I can't even talk to someone who can look at the account.

Yelp
Took over complex after we had already moved in. Serious issues with physical safety, trash, insects, crazy new neighbors, etc. Office often closed and difficult to get a hold of them. Entered apartment without notice to perform non-emergency remodel work & scared my wife. Numerous billing errors. Billed me after I moved out for money I do not believe I owe; refused numerous good-faith attempts to reach them at both local and hq offices. Note: dissatisfied local employee admitted in boss' absence that Steadfast and the local manager steal from security deposits to pay for renovations. Three different VPs from their website failed to return calls; receptionist sends you straight to voicemail and nobody calls back. Company President, Mr. Emery, failed to respond to certified letter. Their debt collector refused to even accept certified letter disputing debt, and now they claim debt was not disputed on time. THEY ALSO CLAIMED THE "DEBT" WAS 45 DAYS PAST-DUE ONLY 4 DAYS AFTER I RECEIVED THE BILL. That's three emails, several phone calls to HQ, certified letter to HQ, certified letter to debt collector, two phone calls with sleazy debt collector (so far), two in person visits to apt office itself, letter to local mgr., and several unreturned calls from complex manager (unless I've lost count). . THE LAST TIME I TRIED TO REACH THE REGIONAL MANAGER THE PHONE NUMBER WAS DISCONNECTED. These people are only here to steal from you and your family. It's hard when your kids are begging you to move out of your home because they don't feel safe. It's even more frustrating to be harassed and lied about and stolen from after you think you've moved out and gotten away. Only way to actually get away from Steadfast is not to do business with them in the first place. Look for video of the insects and other problems soon to be uploaded on Youtube. Again, the Regional Manager's phone number is disconnected. That's all you need to know.

Yelp
This property management company needs a class action lawsuit. Their management tactics are definitely not in line with several laws and codes. This management company will patronize you and lie to you and sugar coat any problem you bring to their attention then do nothing about it. Steadfast Property Management Company only cares about their financial bottom line and you, as a tenant under any of their managers, will mean nothing and you will ultimately regret any decision to rent from this company if this company manages your interested choice of living premise. Steadfast is corporate greed at it's finest! Renters Beware! Run, don't walk from any complex that is managed by Steadfast! Your voice will mean nothing, your complaints will not get responded to, your wallet will just be emptied and your nerves frazzled to the point you will jeopardize your health! If I could give them 0 stars I would! In fact I'd give a negative -5 stars!

Yelp
Between the lies told by the office, the unreturned phone calls and the attitude issues of the staff I would not recommend this place. I moved in to one of their properties about a year ago when the previous office staff was very sweet and well-educated. The current group make up rules as they go and seem to contradict each other. I would not waste your time or money here.

Yelp
Assuming root of the problem with apartment complex is Steadfast management. They assess unfair cleaning fees, including carpet cleaning, when you move out. Everything I have read online states landlords are not allowed to assess fees for things like carpet cleaning, assuming the unit is returned in clean condition. The complex told me they always have the carpets cleaned, regardless of how clean they appear from the last tenant. That's their choice and a cost of doing business, but they get away with passing it on to their former tenants. What's worse, is that they tell you after you move out that their standard practice is to pass any amount owed over to a collection agency. They tell you not to worry because it isn't in collection status for 45 days, but they also tell you they can't make any adjustments to the account. It's basically extortion. You have to pay what they say you owe, you can't reason with them or negotiate at all, and if you don't pay (even if you disagree or it's not fair) they'll report you to the credit bureaus. I wouldn't rent from them, but if you are going to, at least make sure you document with photos and video when you move out and also go on a walk-through with the local staff. At least that way you have a chance to argue the condition of the apartment.
