Review on a Tuesday during Lunch (11:30am)
Ambiance & Seating: 4/5
Primarily outdoor seating, so open to elements. Cooler weather when we visited in January. They have space heaters and some seating options in the sun. About 8 counter seats inside. In summer, they have overhead shade and likely will have swamp coolers and misting systems. Available seating and service/wait times were good (less than 15 min from order to being served)
Food: 4.5/5
Excellent smashed burger - honestly everything you'd want in a diner style smash burger. Crispy edges, melty cheese, quality toppings.
Fries were fresh, salted, and crispy.
Grilled chicken sandwich pretty was great! Only recommendation was possibly more seasoning on the chicken itself... however I think the 'less is more' flavor is intentional, similar to Joes Farm grill. The ingredients are fresh and they want that to shine through. So, I get it. I mean like...the lettuce is clearly organic, freshly harvested and grown on site. You can taste the difference. If you've ever grown your own food, you can just tell. If you want more intense flavors, more salt/umami, ask for an extra side of the aioli. It's amazing.
Sauces: 5/5
phenomenal. Ranch and aioli dressings were so good it's criminal :')
Price: 4/5
Ok. It's not cheap. And it feels like a neighborhood restaurant that's themed as 'diner food' should be cheap, so that's why it's shocking at first. But if you think about the quality of ingredients (local, organic, clean ingredients), paying the staff fair wages in turn for kind, caring, thoughtful service, and supporting its sister coffee shop and farm, I think it's completely fair. I went to a sandwich place the other day and a 8" sub was $18. A burger or chicken sando here is $15. I'll take supporting our neighborhood restaurant over processed foods any day of the week.
Grateful for this to be in our neighborhood. Thankful for clean ingredients I feel good about eating, serving to my kid, and recommending to family and friends.
This isn't a "we don't have groceries and it's 6pm and we need a quick, easy, cheap meal for a family of 5" situation (although if it works for you, awesome!)
This is a "let's go out for a special meal this week" or "I'm working from home and want to splurge on a quality meal for myself for lunch today", and definitely a "it's Saturday night friends!! Let's get a sitter and go grab drinks, a burger, shake, and have a great time!".
Enjoy!!
