Steak & Whisky American Tavern

I’ve lived in the South Bay for all my life it is never tried steak n whiskey. Steaks are my fave so I’m very particular. I always order my steak medium rare because I can tell if is fresh or frozen due to the blood content. I ordered the pichana medium rare and this is what I got. It was cooked medium so I sent it back. The second pichana was full of cartilage which is not common with rump steak. We also ordered lobster Mac which they forgot about and brought out after my second pichana order. Lobster Mac was awful so we left it, but they still charged us full Pop for the lobster Mac. I will not go back. It’s supposed to be a stark restaurant but they failed R every attempt. I have two stars because my friend ordered a burger and she was happy with it but to me it looked like a slider instead of a full burger.

Steak & Whisky is a unicorn. For a South Bay restaurant, it provides an extraordinary experience: 1. The friendliness and attentiveness of the service staff -- form the greeter to the bartender to the wait staff -- made my time at the restaurant fly by -- my suggestion: sit at the bar, and have a great conversation with not only the staff but other patrons; 2. The drinks -- a variety of top shelf Bourbon -- made my party and me stay longer than expected (the reasoning: why go to another place when this bar has everything we need; there is also special lockers that I appreciate) -- - my suggestion ask Connor, Issac, Grant or Jack to set you up with "his choice," these guys are professionals ; and 3. We were presently surprised by the food -- we had a tomahawk, seafood tower and other apps; everything was to our liking -- my suggestion: order that happy hour burger (superb). Thanks for such a great time.

Perfect sunset view with great food. With outdoor dining, the sloped street provides a stunning sunset view. We dined here last night with our daughter and her boyfriend. We had a great time while enjoying the food and the view. The service here was excellent with our waiter constantly checking on us to see if we need anything and timely taking our orders and bringing food out. With his recommendation, we had a perfect meal. Before talking about the main dishes, I have to mention that their house bread here is to die for. Crusty hot bread with honey butter is a perfect combination. You got to order that if you dine here. With the restaurant name after steak, we can’t have dinner here without trying their steak. The ribeye steak we ordered was perfectly cooked to medium. The flavor of the steak was fantastic. The meat was tender and flavorful. I loved it. The scallop dish was also heavenly. Butterly flavor created an amazing dish. This dish is not to be missed from you meal. It pairs perfectly with the steak. All the side dishes such as lobster macaroni and Brussels sprouts were very good. They went well with our main dishes. Although we didn’t order any cocktails or whisky, but from the extensive drink menu, we could tell the restaurant has very good selections of drinks. We ended up ordering a Malbec red wine to pair with our steak. It was good. Parking is a bit challenging on the weekend. Street parking with meters is limited. You can still find parking a couple of streets down close to the beach in a parking structure.

This is a unique restaurant with a good vibe. Bar is at table height which was a bit weird and uncomfortable. Had the Lamb Oso, Lamb is a little tuff for Oso with a small bone and no bone marrow. The polenta was very tasteful, but the sauce was overpowering. Wedge salad a 10, fresh with outstanding dressing. I will be back.😎

Everything on the menu was delicious. We stopped by for brunch last Saturday and had a wonderful time. The service was impeccable, we had champagne and ordered most of the menu (we were celebrating!) Oysters are always my favorite and I love them here. The lobster was cooked to perfection, scallops might have been my favorite thing we ate. It was a special occasion and I can’t wait to have another excuse to go back!

The ambience was great & the service was excellent. The Happy Hour menu was a nice taste of stuff. The hamburger is not the business with these nasty pickles. Why not just throw some fries next to it? The oysters are great at $1 & the bread from regular menu is AMAZING! $9, order it!

Authentic and very nice place! The place decoration is pretty interesting. Lots of Whisky bottle on the bar shelves! Staff were friendly and helpfull. The food tasted great, we tried lamb shank, and 18oz steak with dressing which was very delicious. I tried smoke n bourbon! I highly recommend this place!!

Fantastic people and fanatic food. They have an insane quantity and quality of whisky, wish I could try them all. Steak was well cooked, and the artichoke dip was delicious.
