Steak & Whisky - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Unsurprisingly, you’ll find both steak and whisky on the menu at this restaurant in Hermosa Beach. Also available - The Botanist, a gin from a whisky distillery. But you also shouldn’t miss the happy hour, with daily dollar oysters, and discounted pork meatballs, and arancini. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

The happy hour here is one of of our group's favourites: fresh, flavourful Oysters, delicious Hamachi Crudo and flatbreads and this is where I had my first and not my last French 75 cocktail. Perfect place to hang out with friends - great service. I'm not a huge fan of the decor as it's a bit too rustic for me but the cabin feel definitely appeals to the rest of the crew.

Steak & Whisky is a unicorn. For a South Bay restaurant, it provides an extraordinary experience: 1. The friendliness and attentiveness of the service staff -- form the greeter to the bartender to the wait staff -- made my time at the restaurant fly by -- my suggestion: sit at the bar, and have a great conversation with not only the staff but other patrons; 2. The drinks -- a variety of top shelf Bourbon -- made my party and me stay longer than expected (the reasoning: why go to another place when this bar has everything we need; there is also special lockers that I appreciate) -- - my suggestion ask Connor, Issac, Grant or Jack to set you up with "his choice," these guys are professionals ; and 3. We were presently surprised by the food -- we had a tomahawk, seafood tower and other apps; everything was to our liking -- my suggestion: order that happy hour burger (superb). Thanks for such a great time.

As soon as I walked in to request a table for happy hour. I was rudely greeted by the guy bartender for having a water bottle while requesting a table for the hostess. I haven't even finished talking to hostess without him yelling across the restaurant saying no outside drinks. Everyone in the restaurant turned their heads for the loud and disrespectful comment. I understand that if we can't bring outside drinks you can ask us to throw away the drinks but in the manner that he said was very rude. I asked can you throw it away for us so can be seated and he rudely said that's not his problem. You need to get rid of it yourself if you want a table while standing next to the trash can in the restaurant. Luckily the hostess actually has hospitality training and offered to throw my drink away so we can be seated. Then we wanted to order oysters since the restaurant was promoting the oysters outside, but then as soon as we are seated they said they are sold out. Crazy how quick the menu changes when there is a conflict with the team. I would advise to avoid this location if you want good service because you won't find any good service here.

Great food. Loved the Whiskey A-Go-Go flight and the service was top notch. Honestly, a bit overpriced, especially for the portion size, but we will definitely be back!

I came in with a large group. We all ordered steaks. The filet, and New York strips were great. Everyone who ordered the rib eye was extremely disappointed. They served us a well done sirloin. It was like a steak at sizzler. $48 for an overcooked tough piece of meat. Athe service was just ok with everyone getting their food at different times. My salad didn’t come out until most people were done with theirs. The rest of the experience was pretty good. Great cocktails and the Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Just really upset about how bad the steaks were tonight.

Perfect sunset view with great food. With outdoor dining, the sloped street provides a stunning sunset view. We dined here last night with our daughter and her boyfriend. We had a great time while enjoying the food and the view. The service here was excellent with our waiter constantly checking on us to see if we need anything and timely taking our orders and bringing food out. With his recommendation, we had a perfect meal. Before talking about the main dishes, I have to mention that their house bread here is to die for. Crusty hot bread with honey butter is a perfect combination. You got to order that if you dine here. With the restaurant name after steak, we can’t have dinner here without trying their steak. The ribeye steak we ordered was perfectly cooked to medium. The flavor of the steak was fantastic. The meat was tender and flavorful. I loved it. The scallop dish was also heavenly. Butterly flavor created an amazing dish. This dish is not to be missed from you meal. It pairs perfectly with the steak. All the side dishes such as lobster macaroni and Brussels sprouts were very good. They went well with our main dishes. Although we didn’t order any cocktails or whisky, but from the extensive drink menu, we could tell the restaurant has very good selections of drinks. We ended up ordering a Malbec red wine to pair with our steak. It was good. Parking is a bit challenging on the weekend. Street parking with meters is limited. You can still find parking a couple of streets down close to the beach in a parking structure.

Everything on the menu was delicious. We stopped by for brunch last Saturday and had a wonderful time. The service was impeccable, we had champagne and ordered most of the menu (we were celebrating!) Oysters are always my favorite and I love them here. The lobster was cooked to perfection, scallops might have been my favorite thing we ate. It was a special occasion and I can’t wait to have another excuse to go back!

We stopped by on a Friday night for a date night dinner (thanks to our preschool who did a date night session). I love the ambiance and decor. Slight nod to a mountain hunting lodge without going overboard. Service was just ok, maybe because our bill was not $200 since we did not order steaks and multiple cocktails. We paid $150 with 17% tip. I usually tip 20% but food and service was disappointing. For apps we got the eggplant meatballs, it was a little too dense and chewy, and did not have a ton of flavor. For entrees, my husband did like his braised short ribs while I got the scallops. The scallops were delicious but it sat on a bed of cheesy black rice. There was so much cheese, I had to cut it with a knife. I had 3 bites of it and couldn't eat more. Just too much cheese and did not go with scallops at all. Server did check in about our apps but never asked us about our meal. I would go back for a drink at the bar but not for another meal.

Yelp
The only reason I can't leave 5 stars is because of our server, the food and ambiance were great. Server Brooke was rude and pushy towards us. She was impatient and seemed annoyed that we were even there. Management should reconsider who they put on the floor. We won't be returning.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent. Truly enjoyed the vibe. I had the scallop entree. My partner had the New York steak. ILana's recommendations were right on point with what we were looking for. The wine paired well with the entrees too. Will definitely be coming back to try more/different entrees. Didn't try the whiskey this time around, but will make certain to do so next time. Cheers to good eats and good vibes.

Yelp
I've eaten at S&W many times and this was probably the worst Steak I've ever had there. We ordered the Milk Bread and Carpaccio to start and the meal was off to a fantastic start! The milk bread never disappoints and the carpaccio was a star. Loved it! The wedge salad was ok. A little over the top on the vinegar in the dressing. We both ordered the 14oz Ribeyes and this is where the meal went south. Both of us ordered the steaks Medium considering each were 14oz and I've had these before. Her's came out looking like a 14oz is Ribeye and mine came out looking like a Butcher Box 10oz flat sirloin. Cast iron pressed down on a flat iron skillet or cook top. I knew right away from looking at it that this steak was over cooked and well done. They offered to cook a new one. The 2nd steak came out the same proportion and honestly for 69.00 that was the worst re-fire I've ever seen. 1st they were not 14oz. As an industry professional I know when a kitchen is cutting costs. Something has changed at S&W. Steaks are cooked to Temp and then the rest and sit and continue to cook till they are over the temp you ordered. At least my impression based on tonight's experience. It's not hard to cook a ribeye medium! But the 2nd one was medium plus. By this time my wife was half way there her's and I was getting full on fries and did t want to complain again. Over char on the ends and not finished with butter. No salt on the steak. Thank god we asked for salt before they came out. Brooke was fantastic! We have had her many times and she always is polite and a great server! Tonight the steaks were different then before and honestly I was for the 1st time disappointed I ate at S&W Be wary of spending money on their steaks because they changed their meat sourcing. I can tell!

Yelp
Fantastic dinner with my family! We share to start the artichoke dip which was delicious. Then for our main course we shared the lobster Mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts. All amazing. I ordered the lamb oso buco and so much food for the price. It just fell off the bone to perfection. It came with risotto which was so flavorful. To drink I had the Sabrina Carpenter which essentially was an espresso martini. Made so.well. we also ordered a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and a great Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc. Lastly for dessert shared the bread pudding and lava cake. I wouldnt order the bread pudding again. It had what seemed like apricot bits but the menu didn't call that out so no idea. It just had an odd flavor and bite. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had a great time at S&W. The wines they brought out were awesome. The food was AMAZING. Their customer service was attentive and there to keep you satisfied. Our server Grant was a great help with recommendations. We don't celebrate like this often, but when we do tea gotta go all out. I would definitely come back here again. If you're lucky you'll find free parking in the residential area, but if not, there are meters in the area.

Yelp
The steak was excellent, the drinks were great, and the sides were so-so. The reason I'll never go back is that I'm not a fan of a la carte. C'mon throw in a baked potato, with a few greens. A bare steak in the middle of the plate looks really lonely.

Yelp
This was my first time back since they remodeled. The food was excellent! The Rib eye melted like butter. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The French onion soup was very good. I liked the cream brule but didn't like the bread pudding.

Yelp
Quiet and lovely. When you walk in you forget you're in the middle of a beach town. We were greeted by the host and quickly sat at a table with our name on it. They spelled my husband's name wrong, a huge annoyance for him, but he let it go. Mina was our server. She greeted us with a smile and excellent attentiveness. I ordered the old fashioned and my husband a beer. They only had two beers on draft and other options in bottles. The milk bread is a must. You will thank me later. The honey and butter blend they give alongside the rolls is life changing. The spinach artichoke dip was good. The crustinis were light as air. He ordered the rib eye. I ordered the pichana. We were not disappointed. Their medium rare is rare. I enjoyed every last bite of my 6 oz pichana and would order again. I'm a filet mignon type of gal but this was great. We ordered garlic mashed and onion rings for our sides. They were really good as well. The onion rings were the best I've had in a very long time. Lightly breaded and seasoned with something I can't put my taste buds on. The dessert offerings were a plenty. But we were stuffed. See my pics below.

Yelp
The happy hour menu is incredible. Connor was our server and was very attentive. The hostess was also really nice and welcoming, didn't get her name but this was on Wednesday night. We got: The oysters Flatbread Hamburger Mussels Hamachi crudo Lava cake Everything was insanely delicious! The ambiance is gorgeous. We went when it was still light outside- there are skylights and large windows for a lot of natural light. Loved the hunting lodge vibe.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour so I can't speak for their other menus. The oyster was $1.50 each which you don't normally find anywhere nowadays. It was descend and tasted fresh but wasn't my type of oyster. Other food was descend on the happy hour menu overall. The margaritas were good though.

Yelp
One of my go to places in LA to get steaks. The seafood platter is such a steal - packed with fresh lobster, prawns, oysters, and ceviche - probably one of the cheapest towers you can get in LA. My favorite steak to get is the ribeye (dressed) and it's usually cooked perfectly. Sometimes, they do come out a little too fatty to my liking. The restaurant is more rustic than typical steakhouses and it's not too dimly lit. The servers are always super attentive and friendly and have good recommendations.

Yelp
I didn't have high expectation due to some not so great reviews. But everything was so good! One of the best in South Bay. The hamburger doesn't look in the photo but it was delicious. The service was good and fast. I like the cozy country decor too. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Lets start with what was good... The Octopus appetizer is a great tasting menu item. Worth getting. The service was really good and Bria was attentive and sharp. The drinks were top notch. The mixology is great to watch and taste for the cocktails. Now...what wasnt good...the food has no flavor or seasoning. Never had an unseasoned salmon before but this did it. My wifes spaghetti also had no flavor. I probably shouldve went with the steak ‍

Yelp
We live nearby and didn't try this restaurant for years, partly due to the less than 4 star Yelp rating and partly because I'm not a big meat eater. I'm so sad we waited so long and trusted reviews from strangers on the internet. Steak & Whisky is great! We had a baby last year who has to be in bed early, so we were looking for a place to have an early dinner a few weeks ago. Most of our favorite restaurants in Hermosa don't open until 5 during the week and we're bored of always going to The Rockefeller and Hook & Plow for happy hour. The Steak & Whisky menu looked interesting, so we decided to pop in with our 10 month old around 4:30 two weeks ago. We had a fantastic meal with great service. We tried it again yesterday and had the same experience. We've ordered off of the happy hour and regular menus and everything has been delicious. They also have a variety of vegetarian and pescatarian dishes that are great for me along with great meat options for my husband. Some of our favorites have been the eggplant meatballs, scallops, shrimp cocktail and oysters. My husband also loved the happy hour burger and Beef dip sandwich. Overall, we highly recommend Steak and Whisky and I think we'll be regulars from here on out.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Ordered the grilled octopus, beef carpaccio and the baked prime rib. Washed all down with a bottle of red wine. Everything tasted excellent. Service: I had made reservations for 6pm on a Sunday evening. Upon arrival, I noticed there was only one other party seated. The man at the front didn't even greet us, which already gave me bad vibes. Our waitress was a bit better but given that we were one of the only ones in the joint, service could have been more attentive and friendlier. Hence the 1 star deduction.

Yelp
My spouse made reservations for my bday and we both were very satisfied. We were sat right away and there was a bday sign on the table which was cute. I love a good steak and that's exactly what they provided, cooked to my liking and no crumbs were left. The vibe was my favorite, it was small with dimmed lighting with set a romantic feel. It's also a small place so the servers are checking on you regularly. The pricing is fair, you pay for what you get. Zero complaints. 10/10 recommend. It's also across from sharkies and American junkies if you want to have drinks after dinner

Yelp
I have eaten dinner here but it's been a minute! I stumbled upon there Happy Hour on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I took seats by the window and enjoyed the view people watching as well as a few great tapas and drinks. The perfect Sunday afternoon!

Yelp
For dinner at home, I was excited to order Confit Duck Leg for delivery from Steak & Whiskey's menu. The duck came with potato gnocchi (another favorite!), brown butter sage, peach chutney, and broccolini. Unfortunately, the duck tasted old and a bit stringy, the potato gnocchi was hard and cold, and the chutney on top congealed over the crispiness of the duck skin. I choked down part of the meal and couldn't go further. Perhaps Steak & Whiskey offers a fabulous in-person dining experience - or perhaps I should've stuck with the restaurant's namesake steak entrees - but I would hesitate to order delivery from here again.

Yelp
One of my favorite fancy restaurants in the South Bay. I love the service and the atmosphere - it feels warm and inviting especially in the colder months. Their cocktails are really delicious - my favorite is the Sage it isn't So. I don't even like gin but it just has such a great flavor to it. We like to get the house bread to start with sea salt and honey butter - so delicious. We love the crispy brussels sprouts and the steak is always on point. Particularly the filet with the chimichurri sauce and the fingerling potatoes. This place is awesome and never disappoints.

Yelp
Caesar salad was the best I ever had and the 14oz rib eye was delicious. The Italian sella antica red wine is a very good pour.

Dan R.

Yelp
It's a nice place but really expensive for quality of food you get. I got the Frutti Di Mare which was so disappointing. For $40 it was two small shrimp, one scallop, two muscles, two small clams. The worst part was the pasta which was cut up spaghetti that was so gummy. Won't be eating there again.
google avatar

Dana C.

Yelp
The service was very slow. Took forever for a server to even say hello. And then it took forever to get our drinks. Food was hit and miss. Filet was very good but the rib eye was terrible. The short ribs were terrific but the Brussels sprouts were awful. Onion rings were delicious but the mashed potatoes were grainy. The room is festive but very loud. Probably won't go back.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been here twice and I would keep on coming back. It is a go to for a chill spot right next to the beach. The first time we came, we dined inside. Second visit, we preferred to be seated outside and loved the ambiance. Staff were kinda nice. Awesome menu (for me). One of my friends was never into veggies but he said he would eat them again here. Drinks were good too.

Ashley M.

Yelp
horrible service and food, server/bartender was condescending and made the experience uncomfortable. very expensive and mediocre, would not go back
google avatar

Yelp
We started with Oysters, Burrata App and Escargot. The Oysters were delish, highly recommend. Loved the Burrata app as well. Normally, I love escargot. This was a unique take on it wrapped in a pastry. I prefer it just smothered in butter. Service was attentive. Will definitely come back and try the Whiskey flight.
google avatar

Tae K.

Yelp
The first thing you notice is a very "guys" bar with antlers on the walls and a large selection of whiskeys and flights We started with the seafood tower which had some tasty lobster, shrimp cocktail, oysters and tuna tartare. The ribeye is thinner than the usual cut but was fatty and delicious. The bread pudding was just ok. The hint of bourbon and chocolate was nice.

Monique M.

Yelp
Made a dinner reservation for a birthday and was seated quickly. I think reservations are needed for the weekends because it was pretty busy. Everything was amazing, quality drinks and food. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable on the whiskey.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Just there last night. Empty when we arrived. Just like other reviews stated: we were treated as if they were doing us a favor. Didn't want to seat us. Empty tables everywhere, no one but us there. "Reservations" on all those tables. After 10 minutes we were seated where an employee was just sitting on break. Weird vibe. If not for other people with me, i would have walked out. Basically turn paying, Real customers away. No one showed up to other tables. we ate and left for pier. Stuck up, entitled staff. Condescending don't pay the bills. Food good but won't be back.

Yelp
Had a great experience last night (11Jan2025). 6 of us for a Bday dinner. Server was appropriately attentive without being overbearing. All the food was very tasty. I had the Bone-in NY and was pleasantly surprised the bone wasn't gigantic so good amount of meat. Flavor was great and cooked perfectly. It is a bit pricey but quality is there. They have a very extensive whiskey list and a relatively small wine list but good options. Menu is ala carte and the sides are enough for 2 to share each. Small eaters could make it 3 (personal opinion). Prices are equivalent to a steakhouse and rightfully so. Almost forgot to mention the wedge salad, nice large chunks of bacon and definitely a good start.

Brandon A.

Yelp
This was our first time dining at Steak & Whisky. This was a much needed date night for me and my wife. Our experience was fabulous! The decor is modern rustic, I love that they sat us at booth. Our table had a cute reserved sign that said welcome with our name. The staff was friendly and attentive without being too overly involved. Our food was excellent. We had a whisky flight with 4 Japanese whisky's, 1/2 dozen oysters, lobster bisque, braised short ribs with polenta, ribeye with fontina mashed potatoes and two lovely cocktails. We were very full and had leftovers. Our bill came to $200 which is a great value for everything we got! We will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
Steak is huge AF. Thickest steak I've ever seen served. They also have 1 dollar oyster happy hour. Oysters were huge and the beer was great! We went to another place on the beach the night before and we paid so much for these lil tiny oysters... I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I go quite often and it's frustrating when they don't have the tomahawk steak or porterhouse at least on deck. Isaac always works hard and put his best efforts and does a great job taking care of me. The other staff could learn some more etiquette, be more welcoming and attentive. I don't like to have to flag anyone down. They should be checking on their patrons more often. Otherwise, this is a great place for nice dining.

Rex S.

Yelp
Service was meh.. barely existent. The Ahi Tartar was nice, suttle, and the puffed rice crackers gave the dish the salt it needed. The Basic Cheese Burger & French fries were excellent. The Grilled Octopus wasn't grilled definitely not poached long enough. It had a almost crunchy chewy texture. The dish was beautifully presented and the vineagrette brought the dish to life but it needed salt. The Asparagus was nice without the sauce and fried ends on it. The scallops smelled and tasted fishy, the risotto underneath was oily, greasy, bland, just flat out disgusting. The icing on the cake was i got charged $12.00 for water. The thought is here but the execution fell short.

Yelp
This is a surprisingly excellent restaurant. The oysters were very fresh and delicious. The steaks were Steak House quality. They make a terrific Old Fashioned. The ambiance was very nice and the location is truly stellar. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Swing and a miss last night. My friend was kind enough to surprise me with dinner with friends last night. I had been only once to S&W with a great experience but last night they were definitely off their game. Food took a LONG time to get to us. I thought we'd be compensated in some way but then the food came out. But started all wrong- my duck was on my Caesar salad!? They took it back and food finally came out. Steaks solid but duck was over cooked and Caesar was too over dressed to be edible. We sent back the salad, which server told us she'd take off the bill, it was not. We still had a great time, more due to company than food/venue. S&W didn't deliver and when you spend that much on dinner you don't want to be left disappointed. We may try again but definitely with no urgency. My advice, bring good friends in case they strike out.

Richelle A.

Yelp
I always overlooked this restaurant because of the reviews, but finally decided to give it a try. My husband and I are so happy we did. Starting with walking in the ambiance was so cozy it felt like how a true steak house should feel. Everything was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The drinks were unique and delicious and we haven't had service that good in a long time. We will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
I came here for an outdoor breakfast right when they opened and it was completely empty, seemed like they had more takeout orders though. Service was good and I liked that they had a QR code to view the menu. I tried their Avocado Benedict, which tasted not bad but was a little underwhelming. I didn't expect it to be a poached egg on top of a nicely rounded piece avocado (no bread). Sauce was good and the side salad was tasty -- it was a nice, light breakfast option! Can't say I'd come by again, maybe if I was the area and didn't have any other food places in mind.

Yelp
Ron Swanson (and Us) Approved! "I'd like steak with a side of steak."--Ron Swanson. Steak & Whiskey. What's a more perfect pairing? (Answer is: NOTHING.) Came here tonight for our anniversary and our only regret was wishing we'd ate here sooner. Big-time carnivores at heart, we were happy to find a place that knows how to handle its meat (*pun intended*) without overcomplicating things. They take time-honored classics--crisp wedge salad! meatballs with creamy polenta! fluffy mashed potatoes!--and elevate them, keeping them absolutely delicious but not too frou frou. Our steaks were large and cooked to perfection with the faintest whiff of wood smoke. Mmmmnnn. Staff was always smiling and friendly. I watched as they patiently and kindly helped an elderly couple figure out the QR menu. As the name implies, they also really know their whiskies, bourbons, ryes, and scotches, with a nearly overwhelming collection of glowing gold and amber bottles reaching all the way to the ceiling. Be sure to make a reservation and do not, I repeat, DO NOT skip on the bread pudding. It is exceptional, better than my mom makes (sssssh!), and completely worth overstuffing yourself for.

Yelp
Disappointed in our group dinner at S&W. Our party of 6 waited over an hour standing by the bar waiting for a table even though we had made reservations. There's something wrong with the sewage system, it did not smell good at the restaurant. Nothing was compt, disappointing staff - unfortunately we all agreed we won't be coming back.

Yelp
I had dinner here on Saturday night with friends visiting from out of town. I love the outdoor dining here. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and our table was ready within minutes, no waiting. Everyone in my group went with the ribeye dressed and we had appetizers to start with our drinks. I went with the Great Scots! Flight and my friends has Carrie Bradshaw Died in Mexico. The flight was perfect and paired well with the steak. The waitstaff was kind and took great care of us. I would come back again. I love great food, but it's made even better when the atmosphere is relaxing. The way we were seated outside with great heating lamps, it was as is we were the only diners there and you could breathe while chatting. This spot is a gem.

Yelp
Came here with my husband for our anniversary and we had a blast! There was not a single part of the meal we did not enjoy. For the drinks, we got two of the whiskey flights because actually I'm not too familiar with whiskey and had no idea what to get. My husband is a huge fan of Whistle Pig so we got the Blow The House Down flight and we got the Barreled Over because he was really interested in the selection they offered. Both were really solid, you could taste the different flavors (and in some flavor imparted by the casks) that went into the whiskeys and since we spaced them out through the meal we were able to enjoy it with our food and compare how everything paired together. For the food, we started out by splitting a cup of French onion soup and the escargot encroute and both were absolutely delicious. I'd actually never had escargot before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really, really good. For our entrees I got the 14oz ribeye and he got the filet mignon, which were so tender (I got mine rare, his was medium rare) and paired fantastically with the sides they came with--the ribeye comes with fontina fonduta mash, and the filet mignon comes with fingerling potatoes. We also got the whole Maine lobster surf and turf upgrade and the lobster was cooked to perfection. We got the lava cake for dessert and the salted caramel ice cream they put on top was so good! It really complemented the richness of the chocolate. Viola was our server and she was so down to earth, attentive and personable and she really went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. We will absolutely be coming back!

Yelp
Daughter and I ate here one night based on hotel recommendation. Most expensive plate of food I've had in a while and still walked away hungry. Three halves of fingerling potatoes (tiny) are not a side. Service was quite slow and seemed very pretentious. Probably because we didn't order wine and drinks with every course. We were just in town one night and since this was walking distance from our hotel it was convenient. But there are a lot of other options in the area - I'd try one of those next time.

Yelp
Love love love this place. The ambience is so cool. Great steaks. Literally the best Brussel sprouts I have ever had in my life. Also the house bread is to die for. Each bartender to has served me (who seems to also take all your food orders too??) have been super great. My husband and I love it here for date nights! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I give this place two enthusiastic thumbs up. I will admit we came for the happy hour oysters - which are amazing - and stayed for everything else. Even the happy hour burger is fantastic which told me the steaks where awesome - and they were. Whisky selection is amazing as you would expect. Try the ardbeg uigedahl or the widow jane bourbon. Can't believe how good the pickled vegetables are. Try the double dutch fries, shrimp Mac and cheese, black kale salad. We haven't had anything that was bad - service and staff were amazing. We felt like locals immediately (we are). Isaac and viola were so friendly and helpful. Entire staff was friendly and attentive. Yes. Be patient when they are busy. We will be regulars.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest, all four of these stars are strictly for the service, cocktails and ambiance. The food? Especially for the price point? No. Just no. My arancini came out partially still frozen, which tells me most (if not all) of their appetizers must be frozen not fired fresh. Disappointing when Steak & Whisky isn't cheap. The classic wedge was good, but how can you mess up a hunk of iceberg, blue cheese, bacon and red onions? The HH burger was okay (Rebel's $5 burger on Wednesdays is much better imo). The pickled veggies were delicious, but I love pickled anything. All that being said, the service is incredible and that's 85% of the dining experience. The food? Buyer beware.
