Steak & Egg was hitting! I had the steak and eggs with potatoes and added some cinnamon sticks on the side everything was so good. And the best part? They got a robot that brings your food to the table! That was wild but cool. Their milkshakes are fire too, and you can choose from a bunch of flavors. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

The place was terrible. The times listed are incorrect. They actually close at 3 pm so if you get there at 2:30 pm you can only use one of two tables in the front. The soda machine has something wrong with it - either the syrup needs to be changed or it needs to be cleaned. Ordered the steak medium rare and eggs. Steak was seared on the outside and completely raw on the inside. And this mess of a meal cost $40 (including 18% gratuity). I don’t have super high expectations for a local diner but this place is trash.

Hi, I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit. I was served food that was completely cold, and to make matters worse, instead of making it fresh, it was simply reheated in the microwave. That’s not the kind of quality I expect, especially from a place with a reputation like yours. Re-train or just fire all the staff here. The bus boy looked at me and said I only serve the food and nothing else when asked for more coffee. The waiter was no where to be seen. It wasn’t busy at all. I’d appreciate a proper response or resolution, just do better Osman Barrie. I’m not trying to be difficult. I just wanted a decent meal. Thanks for your time.

There are definitely better options out there that offer decent food and service for a similar price. This was a one-and-done visit for me. I stopped by this diner after seeing some great reviews on Google, but my visit didn’t live up to the hype. The service was disappointing—slow and inattentive. It seemed like the staff wasn’t interested in ensuring customers had a good experience. Mixed up orders, forgot utensils, etc. As for the food, it was just as underwhelming. The waffles were dry and tasteless, and much of the menu tasted like pre-processed, reheated fare. I didn’t even know about the 18% service fee. Wasn’t disclosed.

Google
This is possibly the worst place I have been to. And the host/waiter clearly hated his job. He didn’t acknowledge my presence from his phone for several minutes. But I respected his need to send a text and said nothing. When he did acknowledge me he said “for here” kind of skipped the return of the hello I gave him. He never once looked at me while taking my order and then he obviously didn’t listen because nothing was right. I just ate the horrendous food he served. Just a bit of it and it was pretty disgusting. Not even asking if I needed anything else with the check. He simply said tap. I wish I could not tip for the service and food received. YOU SHOULD NEVER GO HERE

Google
The recent ownership change hasn't yielded much. A bit faster service but the bar was low. Kids menu is good value. Food quality and attention is still poor to very poor. And on the day we visited management didn't even know they were in the boil water advisory zone and were still serving tap water to patrons. New wait staff tries their best. But the training isnt there. Ownership seems disconnected from the restaurant (how can you not know your food establishment is in a boil water zone) and disconnected from the community which needs a solid reliable diner. Not an over extended menu with a bar next door. Didn't touch our food. Went to a better food establishment down the street.

Google
I wanted to love this place but sadly my experience was in line with other reviews. Corned beef hash was 90% hash and 10% beef but the food was tasty regardless. Service was nearly nonexistent - obviously I don’t expect too much because it’s a diner, but when the waiter brought me my order that included toast, he didn’t bring or offer butter, jam, etc, didn’t ask if I needed anything else, and quickly walked away after putting the plate down. I don’t expect to be waited on hand and foot but those seem like the bare minimum! The kitchen staff was loudly playing videos on their phones, and while I was the only customer in the place at the time…you’re at work. Come on. I had to ask the waiter to bring me the check after I’d sat for a while with an empty plate (I was the only person in the entire restaurant) and when he brought over the card scanner, it didn’t have an itemized receipt - just the total - so I didn’t know an 18% service charge was already included and gave an extra tip on top of that (for not great service service). I don’t mind paying higher prices, I know the cost of everything is going up for restaurants, but that’s scammy. There are better diners in DC/MD. Don’t think I’ll be back.

First stepped in, the atmosphere was nice. Retro but not tacky. We paid $90 for 2 people and will list the items we ordered. Steak and eggs, club sandwich, scrapple, vanilla milkshake, mozz sticks, chilli. Food took a long time to come out. Another guy later came behind us to talk to the server and angrily requested the check as they had been apparently waiting 45 mins for the food to arrive. This is likely because the staff wait for ALL the food to be cooked then bring them out altogether. They didn't inform us of this beforehand. Most of the food arrived cold. The steak and eggs were basically bland. Had to request gravy. The hash brown is good, it's like shredded potato, still fluffy and crispy on the outside. The eggs looked dirty and grey, seems like the griddle doesn't get cleaned often. Mozz sticks had a random home fry in it? The sticks were cold when they arrived and the cheese was hard. Didn't come with marinara. Scrapple was mushy. If you've had Amish scrapple, this is not it. Chili was meh. Tasted cheap. The fries with the club sandwich was literally soft and unsalted. The sandwich itself was good. Milkshake was good. Overall wouldn't go back. The waiters didn't even know the food on the menu and kept saying what's that. Granted the menu was changed a couple days ago but it seemed like they hadn't even read the menu fully themselves.

Yelp
Steak 'n Egg has significantly improved! The food is tastier, the service is faster, and the overall vibe is more welcoming. A great spot for a hearty, satisfying meal anytime. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
I heard this restaurant was sold last year to a group. That difference was quite glaring. Although the food was basically the same - hearty, delicious, satisfying, and the prices the same as last year, the management was very poor, and requires zero stars. In short: no one at the entrance, no one to serve, no one to call. The waitress was totally inexperienced, could not carry a tray, and had one hundred people to service at once. Our order for eggs and toast took almost two hours to serve, and though they had coffee, I never got a cup of it served. Really good food, horrible service. If you have three hours to spare, take a chance; if you don't, go to McDonalds.

Yelp
Steak n Egg is a cute diner that is always bustling. The food does take at least 50 minutes to come out but at least you know it's made to order and fresh! The actual inside is a little grimy, but what diner isn't? I will say what has always been majorly lacking at this place is good and attentive service. Sometimes you can stand awkwardly by the hostess stand for 20 minutes before someone greets you and seats you. Then it takes another 20 minutes for water to come, then another 20 before they ask what drinks you do want. Then there is the long wait for food. So while the food is good- you have to be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here if you want to eat here. My favorite items are the country fried steak and the blueberry pancakes. Their eggs aren't phenomenal though, so I recommend ordering other items. Otherwise, this is a typical diner experience with a longer wait. It's still worth coming though!

Yelp
Go back to original owner. I ordered French Toast, scrambled eggs with American cheese and bacon cooked crispy and a side of fries. Fries were greasy, eggs had cheddar cheese French toast was COLD AND NOT COMPLETELY DONE and my bacon was half done nowhere near crispy. Ever since Osman went back home to open a business in Africa this place has slowly gone down hill. The new owners do not care about their customers, they rush to get the food out. If you complain, the servers speak in their language so that you cannot understand them. Well I have google translate and one of them said, how would I like it if they spit in my food. Would it be better for me. I was pissed and show the manager my phone. He sent her home for the day because she was back working today when I went. I immediately left the establishment. They truly suck now.

Yelp
Since recently moving here we have been on the hunt for a good weekend breakfast spot. My wife heard about Steak and Eggs and we checked it out. We had to wait a while to be seated as it was packed and the restaurant is not that big. While we were waiting we saw that they had a robot that would deliver your food to your table. When we eventually got seated, we were in an area that the robot could not go to since there was a relatively steep ramp :-( Oh well maybe next time. The girls (9 and 11) got pancakes, bacon and hash browns. My wife got the "Old Favorite" (hash browns, sausage and eggs), and I got the "Country Fried Steak and Eggs". The food service was a little slow as they mentioned that they were short staffed. Everything that we got was really good. The last time I had what I ordered was many years ago at a Diner in Houston and they called it "Chicken Fried Steak". It was really good but it was one of those dishes where you know it tasted too good to be health ;-) One of the interesting things that they had on the menu were Funnel Cake Fries...maybe next time. We had a good time until the end where it took forever to get the bill. Then they fessed-up and admitted that they accidentally combined our bill with the bill from the next table (which was a party of ~12). I had to spend some quality time with the cashier to go through the bill to highlight what was ours on the bill.....and listen to the cashier cuss-out the waiter for making the mistake. One thing to be aware of is that parking is limited. The food was really good but taking off one star for the service related issues.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast, call ahead and they will have your order ready, nice and hot, this place doesn't forget a single thing, even with big orders. I've been here twice already and it just continues to get better and better with each visit, I absolutely love the corn beef hash it's a must have anytime I go, the cheesy Grits are something special as well, very nice laid back feel here. Just love it.

Kenyatta H.

Yelp
I went last Sunday to get my corn beef hash omelette it's not on the menu anymore I had to settle for a western omelette no thank you. You can tell the people that's making the food wasn't feeling it and the girl with the grey sweater and lashes that worked there gave me my menu and I said thank you she'd looked at me like why are you talking to me with no response I came all they way from SW to get my corn beef hash omelette no Bueno the Vibes were weird please change the energy I will not come again y'all making me wanna go to Booeymonger up the street and I DONT know how the food is there....

Yelp
A 24-7 diner sounded a little suspicious to me but I love all-day breakfast and the generation-spanning crowd on any given weekend morning -- retirees catching up, families with young kids happily coloring their paper placemats, college students still in their pajama pants -- seemed to serve as a solid enough endorsement. The food is objectively good with large portions and the menu is expansive. The blueberry pancakes are the size of a plate and studded with fresh blueberries, the milkshakes are thick and frosty, and the funnel fries are dangerously crisp-chewy. I have yet to venture much beyond breakfast options but across all the options make sure to bring your appetite. The vibe is bustling and casual, service is varying degrees of enthusiasm but always friendly enough. My preferred seating is in the spacious patio in nice weather, which includes some larger tables that could accommodate bigger groups. The restaurant space is a bit limited but it's clean and sports a little robot that serves drinks which keeps young kids entertained as a bonus. Weekends can get busy in terms of both parking and wait time, but that's not terribly surprising and it's never been enough to turn us away.

Meghan J.

Yelp
Served me a placenta burger very good though! Would definitely eat there again! Great service got on their hands and knees and rubbed each of us for at least 5 minutes each! Beautiful place

Yelp
It's a Monday afternoon at 12pm and they're closed? No one is in the restaurant and there is no notice, sign, or anything on their social media. How do you do business like this? Very confused. It seems like none of the required staff showed up to work today. Made a long trip out so beyond annoyed. Assuming this place is on its way out of business.

Yelp
The diner vibe is appealing, but the menu is broad, the food is fresh, and it's far from a greasy spoon! I've been twice, once with family and once alone. The only thing I will say is that the service can be sketchy sometimes. But, if you have kids, they have these cool robots that deliver the food to the tables, which is cool lol. My boys loved watching the robot navigate the restaurant with plates on it! I tried the salmon and eggs with home fries. The salmon steak was massive - literally 2.5 servings- I had some, and shared with two of my kids to finish. The Belgian waffle is amazing! Light, fluffy, and crisp on the outside, but the blueberry one can be a bit soggy. I think they must use frozen blueberries because there's a lot more moisture in the waffle. In any event, the kids' meals are amazing, the milkshakes are THICK and in delightful variety. The cinnamon milkshake tastes like horchata and I must say, was worth every single calorie. The hash is amazingly well seasoned and crisped and their home fries are absolutely delicious! I can't find anything that I would say is bad except perhaps the parking, but even that is doable! For a late afternoon brunch or even a weekday breakfast, this is a solid choice! The vibes, the ownership, the food, and the drinks are all excellent! Try it out.

Yelp
Food was okay, but standard diner food. The place was completely dead inside. I brought my daughter for a "diner experience" but service was spotty. Ice cream machine was broken, so no shakes.
google avatar

Adam A.

Yelp
One of the best diners in the area. Huge breakfast menu with lots of great items. Omelettes are big and love the home fries. Friendly staff too! Sausage gravy is just pretty bland but otherwise I haven't had a bad item on the menu. Must try if you love all day breakfast!

Roberta M.

Yelp
What a loss!!! Had TWO really bad experiences in the last month. Today, ordered a burger with cheese and onion, fries and a coke. I was served a bun with cheese and LOTS of onion, no burger. The fries arrived after I asked. The coke arrived after I asked. When the burger did arrive, it was some kind of compressed meat-stuff, not at all fresh. The fries were barely cooked, flaccid, sad things. I could not finish this lunch. I guessed it had been sold, as the cook and servers were different, the menu had changed. It now closes at 3:00 pm. Why would anyone want to go there later??? What a loss to the Tenleytown neighborhood. This place had been a fixture for generations, well loved and patronized. No more. I won't be going back. Nothing is the same. Food is the worst.

Yelp
Perfect example of what happens when capitalism goes wrong. I used to drive from across town to eat here and have been a customer for more than a decade. Since the last owners sold the place, the food, service, and atmosphere all went way downhill. I've been here a few times since the new ownership took over, hoping they'd get their act together, but, alas, it's only gotten worse. While waiting to be greeted for 5 minutes (it wasn't very busy) I saw food sitting in the window waiting to be delivered with no one paying attention to it, a grill that wasn't actively being cooked on despite people waiting for food, and staff wandering around aimlessly with zero initiative, common sense, or attention to detail. I've worked in restaurants, and those things aren't hard to teach or enforce. The new owners seem to only care about spending as little as possible to make this place run and it absolutely shows. I'm not going back anytime soon until they sell it or make some serious reinvestments. What a sad excuse for what used to be a great neighborhood diner.

Patricia T.

Yelp
This has been one of the our favorite breakfast spots. A community feel, fun. Menu extensive, and the food was really good. We went this morning. The menu has changed and the food is terrible. We asked if ownership had changed: yes! We won't be going back. Very sad.

Charles J.

Yelp
This place was nothing like how I remembered. My father took me here about a year or 2 ago and the food + the service was great. Fast forward to recently my girlfriend came to visit and I was excited to take her here to get some breakfast. The place didn't have many people when we came in which gave me hope that our food would come fast and the service would be swift. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more than wrong. It took about 20 minutes to get our food ordered and to make matters worse they were out of a variety of items on the menu. Not to mention, it took another 30 minutes for the food to come. The food was average, however the toast I received was severely burnt on one side and uncooked on the other side. After getting the waitress attention I asked for more toast to which it never came. The worst of it was that my girlfriend never received the condiments she requested with her food and had to search other tables to retrieve the items she asked for. After this experience and the price they charged, I feel it's safe to say we won't be eating here again. Very sad as it seems like this place was a great diner at one point... had I known the food and service were like this, I wouldn't suggest this place to any personal guest or to others.

Aref A.

Yelp
This manager refused to take my Togo order because he wanted to take guest who we're sitting at the tables orders first and when they told him they were not ready he refused to take my order and when I asked for the manager he said I am the manager Been a customer here for 17 years I've never had this kind of service and when I went to speak to the cook who I've known since I was a child that I just wanted to place an order for two sandwiches the manager said do not speak to him This is absolutely ridiculous
google avatar

Roy S.

Yelp
Well they are under new management and you can clearly see the difference in food quality and service.
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
We randomly decided to stop by this restaurant after a doctor's appointment. There are a few parking spaces on the side of the restaurant but otherwise, you have to find street parking. We were able to find a space a box away. We went around noon on a Friday and it wasn't that busy. We were seated immediately. The staff is really nice and kind. The menu has a lot of items to choose from. We ended up ordering breakfast dishes. Everything was tasty! I loved the waffle and the home fries! A fun fact....they serve your food on this little motorized tray. It's so cool! I will definitely return if I am ever in the area!

Michael B.

Yelp
The change in ownership has wrecked this place. A super efficient and hospitable staff has been replaced with a handful of confused looking employees who keep tripping over each other as customers go un-attended. We won't be going back, which is a shame because it was reliably good before ownership changed.

Michael K.

Yelp
BLATANTLY OVERCHARGED, A SCHEME....ALWAYS ASK FOR THE ACTUAL BILL. As a longtime server, I know their servers most likely have a scheme going where weekends are so busy with families with young children in a rush to pay and leave that they do not bring your check and rather only bring the handheld device right away with only your total due and tip showing. I too was in rush only realized after I was driving I was blatantly overcharged by nearly $20. Even if there is a service fee I was reading, they inflate that up to put more money in their pockets, The service was not good and the place is just dirty as tables are not very clean before sitting, and nobody busses as tables were full of dirty plates and floor had food everywhere while servers were standing around. Definitely not ever returning.

Robert H.

Yelp
The omelette I ordered was decent enough, but I cannot in good conscience recommend a diner that actively and blatantly rips off its customers. Upon receiving my check, I noted to the server that I was charged three separate "carry out" fees of 10% for Doordash, Grubhub, *and* Uber Eats despite dining in. I was charged an additional 10% for "To Go - 11PM to 7AM" despite ordering my food at ~7:30 AM and a 10% "Gratuity Fee" for parties of 5 or more... I was ordering for myself and no one else. But the server apparently could not convince the manager on duty to eliminate those charges and insisted there was nothing he could do to correct the check despite agreeing with me that none of the additional charges were justified. I was in a hurry to leave at that time and the server made it clear that no further discussion would be productive, so I paid but not before taking a photo of the receipt. In total, I was levied a completely fraudulent 50% surcharge on top of an 18% "service charge" and a 5¢ "bag fee." Either the manager on duty on the morning of the 1st of May 2024 needs some additional training or the owners need to be aware of their staff actively and maliciously ripping off customers. Either way, this was my first time eating at this establishment and will absolutely be my last. Caveat Emptor.

Yelp
Old school dinner feel with modern technology. The food was diner standard of flavor at its best. All the food could use more seasoning prior to preparation. Also it's very pricey. 8.99 for a side of hash and $6 for orange(that oj was good tho, but dang 6 bucks). The grits and oj were the best! My husband mentioned the coffee was weak. He ordered the t-bone meal with eggs and fries. He said the steak could use some seasoning. Overall mediocre with a high price tag!
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I had a great breakfast here. The Tennessee scramble was delicious. It was eggs scrambled with ham and sausage. I liked how the home fries were cooked - they were crispy but not too dry. I also liked the creaminess of the biscuits and gravy. My favorite thing here was the funnel cake fries. It was basically dessert for breakfast and it was great.

Sarah R.

Yelp
Thought this was supposed to be a diner? Waiting 45 mins and counting for our food as we sit and watch takeout order after takeout order take priority. Sad that we won't be eating at one of our favorite neighborhood places ever again.
google avatar

Frances T.

Yelp
Sorry I can only give 5 stars. They work HARD... thier working hours are unreasonable, however, with my selfish self, I don't care! The food is so good you loose all compassion! Nice to see something in this country is still authentic. ANY complaint someone might have becomes trivial once you get your plate! My guess is the new cooks have tons to learn. Try to get one of the older cooks. It was like a party! Food was great and my son ad I had a ball, I mean a real a ball!!!! Happy comfort food.

D O.

Yelp
Avoid on weekends unless you are prepared for hour plus waits. 5% service fee is just an underhanded way to raise prices. Just increase the menu price.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place out for years, and finally decided to take a long lunch and do just that. It seems to be a lot bigger than it used to be, with a lot of seating inside and outside. It was a gorgeous day and I happily got to enjoy it on the patio. I do wish there were umbrellas or more cover though as the direct sunlight made it pretty hot. They have parking on the side but you'll most likely have to find street parking. If you're willing to walk a bit, you can find free parking non-residential with the green signs (two hour limit). My main complaint was service. When I arrived, a very enthusiastic woman greeted me and told me to sit outside after I let her know it was my first time there and I didn't know how things worked. I had to sit for over five minutes (I think closer to ten) just to receive my menu, and then more time to order. It came out in a reasonable amount of time but I was getting worried that I wasn't going to be able to make it home in time for a meeting I had. I ended up ordering the steak and eggs (because I felt like I had to!). I found the stake to be underseasoned, but the eggs were perfectly runny. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. My dish also came with potatoes and toast. I decided to get a vanilla milkshake to go. I told the server when I ordered that I wanted it for later, and she was really on top of making sure she put it in when I was ready, and she remembered no whipped cream! The milkshake was really delicious, perfectly thick and creamy. I might go back just to get one of those! I'm glad I went--it's a DC landmark. I'm also very glad I went during lunch on a random Thursday afternoon; I can't imagine how insane it gets at night with all the college kids.

Yelp
We decided to stop at Steak and Egg when family was in town and it was really good! Nothing overly special but delicious cooked food that was portioned extremely large! Everything was flavorful and seasoned great also! Would be nice if they had brunch drinks like mimosas but that's personal preference! Will definitely be going back soon!

Yelp
google maps says open 7a to 9p. I drove here specifically and they are not open. Please change your hours on google!

Yelp
Consistently wonderful ! Breakfast cooked to perfection as always--eggs, hash browns, side meats etc all excellent. And the bottomless coffee beats the coffee shops hands down. Very friendly staff--say hi to the cook, usually Mr Osmab , the owner operator & a local legend. Bonus: the Pepsi branded delivery robot is there; treat him (her?) with courtesy & you'll usually have no problem

Yelp
Our favorite diner in DC. The hours have been wonky recently. This was our Wednesday night mainstay for months until they started closing early on Wednesday. Really friendly with kids and excellent diner fare. My son always gets pancakes with M and Ms. I alternate between the Old South Sunday meal and the patty melt. The biscuits and gravy are perfect.

Ashley K.

Yelp
My mom and I were looking for a quick place to grab breakfast and came across Steak and Egg. I don't know how I've lived in DC for nearly 16 years and never stumbled across this divey, little diner-esque restaurant before, but I'm glad I have now. From the outside, the sign and name aren't the most appealing but don't let the stop you. Or the outdated interior. Sometimes you just need a place that gets the job done and that job is really decent food and efficient service. That's what you can expect here. The menu for breakfast was pretty extensive, so if you are a breakfast person, you've gotta check this place out. I went with pancakes and *very crispy bacon* - that's how I always ask for it because I want it crunchy. The pancakes were gigantic. Like size of your head big, so keep that in mind while ordering. The bacon was a bit lackluster but not bad enough to send it back. I also had coffee and meekly asked for almond milk, as the initial vibe didn't give off anything but dairy milk, so I was pleasantly surprised when they did in fact have almond milk. Our food was good and filling. The service was great and not overwhelming. It wasn't super crowded for early on a Thursday morning, and there's a small parking lot if you need. Definitely check this place out.

Yelp
I've rode by this place many times but it was always so crowded so I usually just kept driving and now I understand why the place was always so packed! This was one of the best steak, and egg bagels I've ever had even though they forgot my cheese lol. My steak was cooked to perfection and my eggs were scrambled hard just like I like them. There is lots of seating area. The staff is very nice and moved really quickly. The food came out fast and fresh. And they gave me a hearty helping. I came home and went to sleep after eating that sandwich and hash browns. My husband had bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast and he was also throughly satisfied. They keep the coffee refills coming and were quick to clear the table. The prices are decent so I'll definitely be back to try the waffles and French toast.

Yelp
Food mediocre, service surly, prices exceptional ly high for the not too pristine setting. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
The two stars is primary for the food as it was good. The service was not good, the outside dining area was not clean (which attracted the birds) and it was very expensive. We paid $82 for a party of two to have breakfast. I assumed it was because I had a few a la cart items. After reviewing the receipt I realized there was an %18 service fee. When I asked the waitress to go thru the receipt, she didn't mention this and I proceeded to give her a 15% tip, which is the minimum I'll give, even for bad service. As we left, my daughter pointed out that the bill still seemed pretty high based on the items we ordered. I went back and got a physical copy of the receipt and there it was, the $18 service fee. We used to frequent this place all the time, but since they've expanded, I can honestly say I have not had good service here.

Yelp
Good, hearty diner food. Good selection, including Belgian waffles, which are my kids' favorites. Nice waiter but woefully understaffed for a Saturday morning. We waited for nearly an hour for our food.

Yelp
I heard really good things about this restaurant and we finally went with our family for my husbands birthday. It was a disappointing poor service experience. Our server didn't come and check if we needed anything throughout our entire meal stay. Everyone's order came at different random times. No communication at all. The food was not to our expectation we ordered steak and Eggs and asked for medium rare that steak was over over cooked (super dry and hard). We are never coming back here again.

Yelp
I was dispointed by my sub par experience at Steak n Egg Diner yesterday afternoon. It took 35 minutes for our food to come at a table of three. The dining room was not even that busy. While we waited, their were zero check ins from our server to update us on our delayed order. When the food arrived, one person's meal was a completely different menu item than what they had ordered. My daughter had ordered a simple grilled cheese with French fries. Apparently the server misheard her order and brought her a chicken sandwich instead. I understand that mistakes happen and sometimes servers misunderstand orders. However, the server never acknowledged her mistake. In fact we never interacted with her again for the rest of our meal. Instead, I had to voice my complaint with the expeditor, and re-place the order through him. As my son and I ate our food (which was of mediocre quality) my daughter sat hungry, waiting for another 15 minutes, for A GRILLED CHEESE. During this additional wait, not a single staff member acknowledged the inconvenience or offered anything to make up for their error. When we had been at the restaurant for 45 minutes I had to flag down a totally different server to inquire about the whereabout of our grilled cheese. When at long last the grilled cheese arrived, it was placed on the table with a muttered "sorry", as the server abrubtly turned and walked away. Having worked in restaurants in my life I understand that mistakes happen, and sometimes things unexpectedly go awry. Nonetheless, I find it unprofessional and off-putting as a customer to receive such lackluster service, along with an utter inability to acknowledge a big mistake and attempt to make it right. As my daughter finished her meal no one ever came back to our table even after another long wait to deliver a check. We all had to get up from our table and stand at the host station for a while before an employee appeared to take our payment. I do not often leave reviews and I don't take lightly criticism of hardworking people, but this is a neighborhood restaurant that I will not be frequenting in the future. I think it only right to warn others against dining here.

Yelp
food was good. the service is awful. we ordered a blueberry waffle, steak & eggs, & the old favorite. they got my egg order wrong but they seemed overwhelmed so i let it go. everything else was good until we found a hair in the scrapple. instead of them apologizing & offering a new one, they laughed in our face. i know things like this happen but how you react makes or breaks the experience. i loved my food but i unfortunately won't be back.

Yelp
The food was alright for a diner, pretty typical. I would have rather had a cheese that wasn't like Kraft cheese. The service was interesting. I stood waiting to be seated for about ten minutes. I got frustrated and walked out, realized there wasn't more good food options in the area, and came back to be seated. The food came quickly, which was nice. The restaurant was decently clean. I'd go back if I were super hungry but choose something else off the menu.

Yelp
My family has been coming here for over 40+ years and since under the new ownership it went down hill. The food has changed drastically with no flavor. Service was subpar. The ambience has changed slightly, the restaurant is not clean, and you would have to deal with flies. We are very disappointed with everything that has happened to this restaurant.

Yelp
My son and his friends recommended this place.I needed something to eat and fast! I was grabbing keys for a new apartment and I had a migraine from being in a car over 4 hrs. The service was excellent friendly and it was great for breakfast food and more. It's perfect for college kids.I would definitely go again!

Yelp
I have been coming to this restaurant for decades. Sunday was the worst experience ever. After waiting 45 minutes and they were not even crowded, to receive food, the food was cold, my husband order was completely wrong, they brought out half the food then the rest. The scrapple I ordered was not edible. We asked to speak to a manager and the waitress stated there is no Manager on duty on the weekends. What happen to the old cooks this place use to be a hidden gem. $70 on breakfast for 3 that was cold, never again. You have lost a long-time customer.

Yelp
I wish I could give zero stars. Food was not good. Did not get what we ordered. Service was horrific. For undercooked fries, an incorrect order, no drinks, and toast that came out 20 minutes after eggs arrived it cost us $64. I would have had a better experience and food at McDonald's.

Yelp
Street parking available and addition lot space behind the location. Showed up after midnight, staff was friendly, location was clean, and they even had a policeman readily available at location. Food came out within 10 minutes from ordering, menu had dinner and breakfast choices. Definitely an express experience for food after midnight without having to order to go.

Yelp
Staff really don't want to be here.... Very obvious !!!! I'm not expecting backflips and kisses... but these girls were unapologetically rude....
