"Alabama-based popsicle chain Steel City Pops closed its Rock Rose location in the Domain Northside sometime this summer. No reason was given for the shutter, but its first Austin location on the Drag remains open." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Fancy popsicle stand Steel City Pops opened its second Austin brick-and-mortar up in the Domain Northside at 11501 Rock Rose Avenue. It is known for fruity and creamy frozen sweets that can be dipped in toppings like chocolate, toasted coconut, and more. It debuted yesterday and will offer free dips for popsicles today. The first local shop opened last fall on Guadalupe." - Nadia Chaudhury

Amazing popsicles, exceeded my expectations. They lose a star because of the service. From the outside it seemed like the store was closed, there was no one to be seen and the whole customization thing, no one told us at first. Really confusing and the instructions aren't helpful at all. The taste was amazing though. The cookies and cream is the best and the dipping of white chocolate - fantastic. Great way to cool down. There is plenty of seating inside as well as outside. A must try if you are in the domain.

Sweet heaven. I get giddy in this place playing in my head all the possibilities to create the most yummy popsicle. Had the champagne popsicle covered in dark chocolate with a raspberry drizzle and my fiance had the lemon creme popsicle in white chocolate and graham cracker crumbles. Highly recommend these combos!!

The girls were so bored when we walked in..tables we're so sticky. Favors weren't that great. Sorry wanted to love yall....was 98 outside so the weather was in your favor. Sadden will try again to see how it goes or maybe another location.

I loved this place! There are so many options that it’s hard to choose but they do have a menu of recommended combinations. Went back a few times while I was in Austin for a long weekend.

LOVE steel city pops! I am so happy to have one close by. I got their coconut popsicle dipped in milk chocolate, drizzled with raspberry, with a little toasted coconut on top and it was to die for. I’ll definitely be a regular at this store all summer long and recommend everyone give them a try!

They have a great menu with build-your-own options and some signature pops, as well as paleo pops and dairy free options. The price is a little high but the pop was pretty good. The only pops I don't recommend are the cookie pops. The center of it is a really hard brownie or cookie that dosent really taste good in the pop. I will say the fruit flavor are great. Service is average not really friendly or helpful.

I am updating my review. I took my mother and daughter to try Steel City Pops. They were closed even though the hours clearly indicated they should be open. Shortly after I received a response from the establishment. They were very kind and explained the situation. They even offered a gift certificate for my inconvenience. Today I went, taking again my mother and daughter, and even bringing my son. The young lady at the counter explained everything. She was pleasant and engaging. The flavors of the popsicles are amazing. Everything tastes natural, not artificial. The store was very clean. Overall this was an amazing experience. Thank you Steel City Pops! Original review Hours posted are not correct. It's Thursday 459pm and the place is closed. Hours are posted on the door, yet the stools are up and doors are locked. I drove a long way for this. Really disappointing

Ordered via Favor as they were doing a special. I sticked with the basics, chocolate and cookies and cream. I tried the Chocolate one first and it was probably one of the best Chocolate pops I've ever tried. I don't know if it was the hot Texas heat that made it taste better, but I will DEFINITELY be going back/ordering from them again! :-) I ate it so fast, I didn't think to take a picture. Sorry.
