I'm a foodie and love homemade pastas and authentic pizzas. The concept here is confusing...Is it a takeout, a dine-in restaurant, a pizzeria??? It's set up like a takeout, but the portions are tiny and the prices are steep. Met a friend around lunchtime, so we opted to dine in. Tiny space with only a few tables. Counter service and they brought us the food to our table. We ordered a Chopped Antipasti salad and it was awful...)$15 and came in a plastic To-go container from their refrigerator section, not made to order. It was basically large chunks of fatty salami's and cheeses with a few pieces of chopped lettuce, honestly gross . We also ordered the Ravioli Di Melanzane $16, it had good flavor with a butter lemon sauce, but no joke, there were like 6-7 Ravioli on the plate...tiny portion. Finally out came our sandwich, The Chicago $16, basically Italian meats, cheeses with giardinera. It was a large enough sandwich to share, but a bit too much giardinera and too spicy (and I love spicy). The best part of the sandwich was the bread, soft and crunchy crust and just perfect. None of the meals came out together, they told us to grab the salad from the cooler and the pasta came out 10 minutes later, followed by the sandwich about 5 minutes later. I'm so happy to see a new restaurant move in to this community and I know it's still growing pains and kinks, but I hope they figure it out soon.
Suggestions: serve some of the delicious bread with your pastas for heaven sake's! Maybe a little something with the sandwiches too, like a tiny pasta salad, chips or something "extra" for the $16 price tag. Please work on the salad adding more fresh vegetables/ lettuce, smaller meat/cheese chunks because it was honestly not edible nor appetizing in a to-go container pre-made in a cooler.
Total bill for the above with 2 glasses of white wine $90! Quite expensive for a take-out joint. Again, always willing to pay for quality, but this was not a great experience.
