I live in South Austin, and this was definitely worth the drive! Chloe, the hostess was incredibly sweet and helpful when I first arrived and sat me in a great spot on the patio. Joe, who waited on my table had impeccable timing with bringing my food and drinks out. Loved that he was extremely knowledgeable with the menu. Tony, another staff member was awesome and showed me the best spot for taking photos. Steiner Ranch brings amazing talent every night of the week! Who doesn’t love good vibes! Great live music and dance floor. Can’t wait to come back with more of my girlfriends 😁 Oh and I’m a huge dessert, goer and they had yummy desserts on the menu!

Everything was wonderful and especially for a date night. My husband and I had the most perfect table outside on the edge facing the sunset. The misters and fans were on, the band was playing, it was the perfect night time summer temperature outside and the bug screens were a giant bonus. The food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious. The crab soup was amazing and the grass fed/hormone free filet was excellent. We will be back and plan on bringing out of town guests!

Great food, service and views here! Friendly tip: make a reservation to ensure seating. I came for Sunday Brunch (try the Stuffed French Toast, you won’t regret it) and will definitely be back for dinner in the near future!

I came here for my birthday celebration! It was a fantastic experience with my family. We did brunch buffet and it was amazing. Food - 5/5 Their beef brisket is one of the best! Tried veggies, pasta salad, sweets, and the french toast (10/5!). Service - 5/5 People are warm and accommodating. Atmosphere - 5/5 The outside was the best. Can be crowded, though (went here on a weekend). Great views at the patio. Highly recommend! 🍻

Been here for over ten years and finally made it out to SRS. Fantastic Sunday brunch!! Will definitely be coming back. Service was great, server was very attentive and made my wife’s birthday special!! The food was excellent and a great value for the price. Prime rib, and eggs Benedict was done perfectly. The selection may not be as vast as some other places but what they do serve is high quality and delicious, not cheap and trashy. Atmosphere is very nice with beautiful views from the large windows. Don’t forget to try the stuffed French toast.

Beautiful view indeed. That's where it stops though. Poor service; Super overpriced, Very limited food choices if it's not a cow you eat. So, all in all, I would say if you want to enjoy a good view and some live music, then go, but there are other options for the same if you also want good food that's not overpriced and comes with a decent service

Google
This is hands down the best steak/dinning experience of my life! When you get there, you're entering someone's private ranch with a breath taking view of the hill country in the background. David was our waiter and he made our first anniversary experience so memorable.

Google
What a fantastic evening! This place is truly special. Celebrated our anniversary and had Luke as our server. He was simply fantastic - balanced, knowledgable, obviously loves his role at SR. Give that dude a raise! 22oz Cowboy Ribeye is insane. Top 3 I’ve ever had in the country. Be back soon!

Yelp
Anthony ( I don't know his last name) made my family omelets yesterday ( Sunday 1/19) and it was the best omelets we have EVER had!!!! He was so kind and patient with us!!!! Keep up the good work. He deserves a raise because he's so efficient!

Yelp
I always love going to steiner ranch steakhouse. The food never disappoints and the view is amazing. JJ was our server and she did a wonderful job. Helped us with ordering a bottle of wine to go with our steaks. She was attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back again.

Yelp
We had the best dinner at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. We had a friendly greeting by Jason and Charles was a great server.

Yelp
Great streaks, drinks, service. Worth the price. Our favorite place to go to for a steak on a special occasion. Never a disappointment. Drinks a good size too

Yelp
I've only visited for brunch but I think there's a great variety of options for the price! Both times I've ate here I've had friendly wait staff even on the busier visit. On a pretty day when it's not too hot/not too cold- sitting outside is wonderful. You get a beautiful view while you enjoy your meal. Any other time I prefer to sit inside. I can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
One of our worst experiences at SRS to date. Let me say up front, it was a normal evening dinner crowd... not busy! But we did hear from the staff that they were already sending waiters home when we sat down at 6:45pm. Service 2 stats... JJ was our waitress, missed a meal course when serving, brought the wrong bottle of wine, attentiveness came and went, charged for a dessert we didn't want. We had a guest for a birthday, didn't want the gratis bread pudding usually given for a birthday, just wanted a couple of scoops of ice cream. Got the bread pudding anyway, and charged for the ice cream! Food 3 stars... very little lobster in the $12 a pop "lobster butter," several toppings way too salty (very common at SRS!), entrees served after appetizer... kitchen out to lunch, we missed soup and salad, steaks were OK, but also salty, mash potatoes unremarkable, bacon wrapped scallops small, stuffed shrimp undercooked, topping salty (a theme emerging), other sides blah!. They push the $35/$25 PER OZ wagyu steaks... cannot be worth it with as poor as the food is in general. Even a great cut of steak cannot overcome poor presentation, just glad we didn't get suckered into the wagyu! Wine List 2 stars... exceptional list, outrageously priced. Thank goodness I recognized the waitress brought the wrong bottle to the table before she opened it. Would not have enjoyed the battle over not paying for what she brought! A very subpar meal at an over the top price. The value simply is not there for the cost. Skip dinner, go to the brunch, drink water or tea. Thanks the only value to be had at SRS! Cannot recommend anything else. PS Jackie did a great job on the piano, but too loud for the small dining room, we couldn't hear the waitress!

Yelp
When you're paying a lot for a meal at a steakhouse, you expect the service to match the quality of the food. While the food was good, the service was quite poor especially for a more upscale restaurant. We had a reservation and were not seated until 20 minutes past our reservation time. This is despite having several open tables all around us. We placed our order, and waited, waited, waited while watching other larger tables seated after us receive their food. Not what you're expecting when you spend over $100 per person on food and wine for a birthday dinner. The food was good and steak was well-prepared. However, the poor service overshadowed the experience. Just not a great evening and it didn't seem like the staff cared one bit. Again, good food but would recommend going somewhere else.

Yelp
Riza is such an amazing bartender. She is knowledgeable in all aspects. She made me a special shot and was able to recommend great apps to pair it with. She has such a fun, welcoming and sweet personality and any business would be lucky to have her!

Rusty S.

Yelp
This is one of the best steakhouses if not total restaurants in all of Austin. The views are the best you're gonna get for dinner. Service is amazing. Crazy wine and whiskey selection. And the Sunday brunch buffet is to die for. I ask for Matthew every time.

Yelp
Steiner Ranch Steakhouse sits on a hill overlooking the Lake Travis area. Views from the Steakhouse are aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant has a western theme with big leather furniture and cowboy artifacts...it's very Texan! We ordered steak and shrimp scampi and the dishes were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly...juicy and flavorful...but a little fatty. The entire steak was consumed! The Shrimp scampi was made with large shrimp I would consider prawns...so huge that they all could not be eaten at the restaurant...we took the remainder home. We both had green beans with bacon and garlic mash potatoes along with a cesar salad. The green beans were soft but firm with lots of flavor. The only improvement would be for the restaurant staff to cut off the tips of the greenbeans. The mashed potatoes were an explosion of flavor in your mouth...yummy! The cesar salad was standard fare, however, their biscuits and rolls were spectacular. Creme Brulee dessert was delicious. The unique portion of the Creme Brulee was the pudding portion...thicker than most and quite tasty. Service was impeccable! The timing between placing your order and the food being served was super fast. My husband and I plan to come back and have brunch. I would recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Yelp
Came from West Texas for my neice's wedding/ this venue was amazing! The steaks were beyond my expectations and cooked to perfection. The cocktail hour appetizers were on point. The ambiance and venue were great!

Yelp
This was such an incredible experience. We had a special Cowboy something that included a Pork Belly and Crab Mac n Cheese with our steak. Amazing portions. Amazing quality! And incredible ambiance outside with the live music and fires lit between the tables. Very exclusive feel at a more accessible price point. Our server was very attentive and even the girls at the host stand were kind and helpful. Will be back!!

Yelp
Multiple people (from out of state) recommended we eat at Steiner Ranch while in town for business. Steven the manager met us in the bar and hooked us up with a great table and awesome view. The wine selection was impressive, steaks were perfect. Charles was our waiter and made our night. Highly recommend eating here when you are in town and request Charles. This is the place to be when you are in Austin.

Yelp
This place is amazing both for the menu and the view! Delicious choices and a beautiful sunset. Very pleased! The wine list is extensive.

Yelp
Consider this my death row meal restaurant! WOW! I love going to a steakhouse that actually has generous portions and even INCLUDES sides with your steak order. Everything was fabulous- I recommend the filet (truly melts in your mouth) along with trying the beans, orzo, creamed spinach, and crispy Brussels as sides. The quail legs and crab stuffed mushrooms are a must for starters. The au gratin scallops were also delicious and large. The restaurant has an amazing view for a sunset over Lake Travis. The decor is very Texas/rodeo/western inspired. Service was also excellent. I can't wait to become a regular here !!!

Yelp
Service is great. Booths are uncomfortable. Seats feel old. Very dated tired interior. Food is just average. Tortilla encrusted flounder - you don't need to dump what seems like an entire container of pico. De gallo on top. Put it off to the side. Maybe all that is needed is one tablespoon not 2 cups full. Mashed potatoes were really bad and inedible. Just stop trying so hard. Mashed potatoes- butter, cream, salt, pepper , maybe a little bit of chives. I'm not sure what was on those but they are the worst mashed potatoes I've ever had in my life. Instant out of a box would have been better. Bread pudding very lackluster. Menu as a whole doesn't have much variation. Steak was superb. But - If you don't want steak or shellfish there isn't a lot else.

Matt M.

Yelp
I will definitely be back. The views and staff are always amazing. Food is amazing. Servers are amazing. Can't get better in Steiner Ranch or most of Austin.

Yelp
Went here for a date night with my husband. Our reservations were at 7:30, but we were not seated until 8:00 PM. They seemed to be short staffed and wildly over crowded. We were finally sat down and then a host from the front approached us a minute later and asked us to confirm our name for the reservation, as if we were not sitting in the right place. We asked if everything was alright, but he just shrugged it off and seemed annoyed. The highlight of the evening was without a doubt our waiter. He was responsible for way too many tables but found a way to make it work, while keeping it personalized and friendly. The bread starter was amazing, the crab cakes were devine, but I was absolutely disappointed with my steak. The quality didn't seem that great, I've had better steaks at home and from HEB (dare I say). The ambiance was nice, especially with the Christmas decor. That was another highlight. But for the price and the experience as a whole, we likely will not be back.

Yelp
From the moment I arrived the experience at Steiner was friendly, serene and enjoyable. All the way from the hostess through the waiter. I was traveling for work and 3 different individuals suggested Steiner Ranch and it was well worth the hour drive. I sat on the patio and enjoyed the twinkle lights, fire and live music. So relaxing after a busy week. The only downfall was that I was too full to finish my meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to town to visit a friend who took me to Steiner's for a classy steak dinner with a great view & atmosphere. Our server Bianca made our experience even better! If you're looking for a delicious steak house with great service this is your place!

Yelp
We had date night last night and wanted to get out an Austin staple that we had heard good things about but never got to try. I was impressed by the menu online, which featured many different steak and seafood dishes. They also had an impressive wine list. When we arrived, the parking lot by the restaurant was full so we had to use overflow parking down below the restaurant. I expected there would be a foot path to get back up the hill but there was not. We had to climb uphill using the driveway which had traffic and felt unsafe. Being a Friday night and beautiful weather, there was a full crowd on the patio so we sat inside. Inside the restaurant, we felt like we had been transported back to the 1980's. This is a "sizzler" style steak house that was very nostalgic for us. Our waiter William was kind a d friendly. Our appetizers, salads, and drinks went pretty well but service for our main course was SLOW. We waited at least 40 minutes for mains to arrive. We did not think the food was noteworthy. My steak, ordered medium was very well done. My husband's seafood dish of mixed grill was serviceable. One pro of this location was the amazing sunset view of Lake Travis.

Yelp
We had a beautiful table in the Great Room ( pianist playing the hits). Anelysse guided us through the wine list and menu. Her wine knowledge was superb and overall excellent service. We went with the Steak feature "Red Lighting" A 22oz bone in Ribeye finished in a spicy bourbon glaze and paired with asparagus and lobster mac n cheese with Pork belly!! It was phenomenal. We also had a table side of the delicious truffle fries. My favorite! And we finished with the triple Chocolate Cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla ice cream. What an evening! So happy we came here for date night. We will be back soon again.

Had drinks and appetizers for a first date. Patio area was nice, staff was good, company was better. Good memories :)

Yelp
3.6 average review ?? Should be 5 plus !! Wow ! I live in NYC.We have plenty steak houses ! This is above and beyond ! The porterhouse was off the charts great . Our server Charles whom I believe is fairly new was exceptional! He walked us through the menu in such an extremely professional way it was like a "tour through your menu " I truly believe the difference between a good and great restaurant is the service and Charles made our experience exceptional ! Great job by entire restaurant I'll be back to see Charles and your great food and drink soon ! Such a beautiful view as well 5'a all around.

Robert T.

Yelp
Excellent steak house and worth the price. The service is top notch. I was there with a group last night and JJ waited on us. She led a team that poured or drinks right, got our meals ordered, delivered them hot and delicious. For private meetings they have great facilities. JJ made the evening for us!

Yelp
Food is amazing , it tastes like Jesus slapped me back into reality because of how good the food is. The service was spectacular, the waiter was so funny and nice. The ambiance of the place is really calming, I feel super happy and safe. This was an amazing experience for my family.

Yelp
The ribeye was so fatty and delicious! I loved their bread, tasted like brioche and corn bread, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of bread they were. I liked that the steak wasn't too salty like other steakhouses. The view of Lake Travis was breathtaking. It was nice to go during sunset. I would definitely come back here. Want to try their other dishes like the scallops etc. great service, food came out quick. Plenty of parking outside. There are three floors total inside and they have an elevator that takes you up top.

Mitch S.

Yelp
The food was as amazing as the view, and Scott's service was even better! If your near Austin, don't make the mistake of missing out.

Rachatawan W.

Yelp
The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and juicy with a beautiful sear, easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. The sides were equally impressive, especially the creamy mashed potatoes. Ricky was the highlight of the night attentive and yet funny making for a truly excellent dining experience.

Yelp
Came here when I visited Austin and all I have to say it was amazing overall. The food was delicious, nice ambiance and service was amazing. Bianca took great care of us and provided impeccable customer service! Highly recommend if in Austin!

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, fantastic food & exceptional service thank you to Scott G. The evening was just perfect! Will be back next week!

Brad L.

Yelp
My little lady surprised me with an amazing dinner here. Our server Bradl was FANTASTIC. He suggested the king crab and it was amazing!! The butter made the dish melt in our mouths. Bradley was pretty funny, he noticed our expression and said "Love at first bite?" The filet might have been the best steak I've ever had. Bradly insisted on taking us to the patio to take our picture as the sky had some cool red and pink colors from the sunset. This is a birthday I'll never forget!!! Kudos to Steiner and Bradly!

Melissa C.

Yelp
JJ was amazing and made my nephews 21st birthday dining experience memorable. Thankful we got her!

John L.

Yelp
Overbooked on valentines, I made reservations and was told at the door it would be a 25 min wait. Had to wait an hour, then had to say something to even get expedited. Food took another hour to come, and was not even good. The first time I never finished a steak at a STEAKHOUSE. I didn't even take it to go. I do not recommend this place at all.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
I used to say the best prime rib was in las vegas. Hands down this is the best prime rib in the usa. Ambiance is great inside and out. Views of the lake. Loved the service max was amazing. For food it was hard to pick as they had everything including wagu a5. I like bourbon and the menu was like four pages. They have a really nice indoor and outside bar. Perfect for first dates, children and family event.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Restaurant with ties to the history of the area. The ambience was upscale and comfortable. The food is so incredibly delicious. Waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
google avatar

Adam W.

Yelp
Lobster Mac and cheese was good. Service was decent. We started outside and moved inside to escape the patio music and vibe. The menus light up so I'm sure kids like that. The ribeye was pretty good but our salads were subpar. And the bread pudding wasn't great. Not impressed. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Marques D.

Yelp
Brunch is one of the best in the city for the ambience and food value. I been a few times since I been in the city, and the staff service goes above and beyond to making you feel at home

Michael F.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Pom was our server on 2/21/25, and the service was above our expectations.
google avatar

Tanya S.

Yelp
Had reservations for a birthday event, we arrived it took about 20 minutes to be seated. The venue was jammed packed, but staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Wagu Filet. The cook came over showed me the certification for approval. Service and food were amazing!!!
google avatar

Yelp
So I was skeptical for this restaurant mostly because on the website there are no prices on the menu online lol. It is a bit of a drive, but it's worth the scenery! So just a heads up the parking is up the hill, not on the right so no you don't have to walk that far. The interior is pleasant, warm, and welcoming. The lighting is perfect with an ambience that screams special occasion or luxury. Take a picture of the wine tree! First off eat the rolls!! They are delicious! For wine get yourself a nice glass of Temparanillo Here is what we had 1.) Fried Green Tomatoes- a must have! Not like Threadgills! This has an amazing Crab Topper, with a roasted pepper aioli! 2.) The Wedge!- Great Salad with Bib Lettuce, and the dressing was light and delicate 3.) The She Crab soup!- yeah it's basically a good crab chowder it's delicious! 4.) The French Onion Soup- One of the Best in Au

Emily C.

Yelp
We dined for Valentine's Day... I understand that Valentine's Day would be busy but that doesn't mean they should overbook. We waiting an hour to be seated (an hour past our reservation time) and an hour to get our mid steaks. My boyfriends steak was cooked wrong but knew sending it back would take another hour or so. So we dealt with what we got. The fries were bad too. Plus I got a lemonade that was definitely powder lemonade. If we're at a "fancy" steak restaurant, I expect real lemonade. The only highlight was the bread. The bread was delicious. Other than that... they need to not overbook holidays. So DONT GO ON A HOLIDAY

Steve T.

Yelp
Last three time we went we were put upstairs where it is dull and you are forgotten about. The last time was exactly a year ago. We had reservations made 6 weeks in advance for a birthday dinner and we were put upstairs. 6 weeks in advance. The food isn't even good when the service is bad but the bill is still the same. Not cheap by any means. We have not been back. Unfortunate because it was me favorite Steak House for years
google avatar

Steven X.

Yelp
Their brunch buffet is decent. Not much in the way of selection but food was pretty good. Enjoyed the smoked salmon and biscuits. Crazy that they charged us a child's fare ($13) for our 11 month old who ate little to nothing.

Yelp
This was our second time visiting Steiner Ranch Steakhouse... and now, all my wife talks about is this steak! Aside from the beautiful grounds and amazing service the staff has always provided, the food is amazing. This last time we were there, I recommended our company planner to book us here for our team Christmas dinner with our spouses. So, although it was a limited menu.... The chef did not limit his/ her quality. The steak was cooled to perfection. The perfect amount of salt and pepper was sprinkled as it seared then im sure as it was finished off .. I mean, even the little fat it had was amazing. The sides we had were also taken to their perfect serving point. The mashed potatos weren't swimming im butter but were definitely not thirsty. The bartender was not shy about pouring some high quality spirits, sodas and other beverages. There was no delay from the serving staff and we never lacked anything as guests. Steiner is most certainly my go to now for anything special or.... My wife wants a steak on Tuesday :) Looking forward to Valentines dinner now.

Yelp
Came for and conquered the weekend all-you-can-eat, $30/person brunch - and what a deal this is! I wasn't sure what to expect when my friend suggested we visit for brunch, other than it being a buffet, but they really impressed me with the setup and the insane amount of options to choose from. From the omelette bar and carving station to a variety of lunch items, there were classic breakfast items and plenty of sweet and savory to cover the bases. OVERVIEW: Weekend brunch for $29.95 per person (+ tax and gratuity). A huge selection of breakfast and lunch items - something for even the pickiest of eaters. Juice, coffee, drinks not included in price. Indoor and outdoor seating. QUICK FACTS: - Reservations? Yes, via Open Table. Highly recommend for brunch on the weekends to guarantee yourself no wait. - Parking? Yes, large lots of open parking. My favorite items were the omelette I built, the giant, fluffy pancakes, the Mexican vanilla cream cheese French toast (godly), and the chicken piccata and meatballs. The fruit variety was refreshing, also. Is the food itself the best thing you've ever eaten? No. But is it better than most buffet-style restaurants? Absolutely, and the all you can eat pricing is totally worth it! Considering I've spent much more on brunch elsewhere, this is definitely a spot I will be revisiting!

Yelp
Despite the forgettable lapse in acknowledging my birthday, the overall dining experience at the restaurant was pleasant. The staff, although overlooking the special occasion, maintained a friendly demeanor. The seafood offerings were a delightful array of flavors. The moderate noise level contributed to a comfortable atmosphere, allowing for easy conversation while enjoying the dining experience.
