Steki

"A life full of travel characterises Fernando and Olivia, a charming couple who have made their different culinary cultures (he is Mexican; she is Greek) the cornerstone of their joint gastronomic project. The name (Steki translates as a “meeting place”) of their simple restaurant, located in a pedestrian street in the city’s old quarter, also highlights this philosophy. Their cuisine is based around the cooking of the Mediterranean with understandable influences from Mexico and Greece. Although available à la carte, there is a minimum order of 5 dishes for two sharing." - Michelin Inspector

An unforgettable evening featuring exceptional gourmet cuisine and top-tier service. You choose several dishes from the menu, and the staff thoughtfully curate the order in which they’re served, perfectly balancing flavors and textures. Every detail is handled with care and expertise. We’ll absolutely be returning! Highly recommended!

Hats off to Steki – just wow! This was my third visit, and somehow it keeps getting better. The service is absolutely flawless – warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every detail is thought through with incredible care, from the elegant cutlery and perfectly chosen glassware to the beautifully curated wine selection. The ingredients are top-notch, and the way each element on the plate complements the others shows real culinary artistry. Truly the best of the best – Steki nails it on every level.

If you go to any restaurant in Alicante, let it be this one. Absolutely everything was spectacular. The staff was proffesional the owner herself came out to explain the menu, telling us that everything on the menu is designed to be for 2 people, and the recomendation is to select 6 plates and a desert, building your own tasting menu. Every bite was fantastic. The star dish in my opinion was a special they had with local small shrimp with a white garlic sauce, raspberries and hazlenuts. It was a flavor combonation I would have never expected but one I will never forget. The owner expertly paired the wine with the meal, resulting in an amazingly balanced meal. I can't wait to return and see what they make next.

If I could rate the service 6 stars, I would. Thanks to Oliva the co-owner and her Argentinian staff(sorry I've forgotten his name). It was really an impromptu for me that I stopped by this restaurant on my way back from a stroll at the park to try my luck as I never liked to plan my dinner before hand that much on my business travel. They were hospitable to accomodate my 1pax (usually their menu is for 2 pax minimum). A Greek, a Mexican and an Argentinian that cooked and served. It's truly gastronomical experience. To perhaps others the fusion culinary may taste odd but to me, I enjoyed every bit of my bite size and it's accompanying garnishes and sauce. Then it comes to wine pairing. First of all, wine in Spain, its Wine! Most of the wines here are great and yet affordable. Then the most important part is mdm.Oliva is there to advise you what to pair with your dishes. As usual anywhere in Spain or Austria, start with a local Cava and move on from there. I loved most of her recommendations except 1 of it was a little too dry for me. But still it went well with my dish. Lastly I didn't have the time to pay my compliments to Chef but here is my review for him, keep up the good work and you deserve the Michelin recognition. (Yeah I only found out about this when I was to be seated.) My advise to others, always book in advance, you may not be as lucky as me to be able to walk in and get one of the last tables available. I am not a fan of taking photos of my food as I find it a lil awkward thst my camera gets to have first taste before my tongue. So here are my photos of the Vino only .

Affordable Michelin Restaurant with exceptional service and quality food. The courses were simply delicious and out of our expectations. The sea bass was the crispest we ever had and the mojito cake beautifully presented the chef’s creativity. The star of the menu has to be the mussel since it is the dish that they won the Michelin. The wines perfectly matched the menu and even elevated the experience. All courses serve two and they recommend ordering 6 courses with a dessert. We only ordered 5 courses but with two desserts and the portion was just perfect. They will recommend the best wines to pare with your food based on your preferences, which are honest and not overly expensive. We ended up with a tab of around €100 per head. Highly recommended to book a table for dinner at around 7pm to avoid the crowds. We managed to have the restaurant all to ourselves by booking an earlier slot. Perfect place to get amazing dining experience in Alicante.

A hidden gem with a Michelin Plate. The restaurant is owned by a lovely couple—a Greek-Mexican duo—which is beautifully reflected in the dishes. The highlight for us was the foie gras; we loved it so much that we ordered it twice. The feta mousse was divine, the beef cheek was outstanding, and my husband’s favorite was the Iberico pork. We tried two desserts, and I highly recommend the turrón if you can only pick one. The service was impeccable—they answered every question promptly and clearly have great knowledge about the dishes and wines.

Our party of four dined at Steki this evening and we were all incredibly impressed! The attention to detail in the plating, the precise and well timed service, and the available wines were all highlights in their own right. The staff were also friendly and helpful. But what will have us going back whenever we are in Alicante is the food - stunning flavour combinations, exquisite preparation and perfectly balanced seasoning made the dinner so memorable. I would highly recommend Steki to anyone who enjoys fine dining!

It’s been a week since we ate at Steki and I’m still thinking about it…Everything was perfect - the host was so welcoming and friendly, each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The concept is simple: you order around 5 or 6 small dishes and they arrive plated for two, in order of the freshest and lightest first, through to the richest last. The host (also the owner, along with her husband who is the chef) explained every dish to us in detail before we made our choice. The waiter was also very attentive and knowledgeable, and both were able to recommend wines to match. Highlights were the feta mousse, the swordfish and the chocolate pie. Oh and the glass of Fondillon sweet wine I had to finish off. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone travelling to Alicante and wanting to experience something a little bit special. Booking is a must tho - the restaurant is very small and was full the night that we were there.
