The food and atmosphere were amazing! We went for happy hour on Valentine’s Day. The food and drinks were so good. My only issue is our server was pretty bad. It would take 15 minutes to get a beer on tap and the girls mixed drinks took longer. I’d like to say it was because they were busy but the traffic was about 1/3 full. I don’t know if I would go back because of the service - but the food was absolutely amazing.

Google
The location of this place was super pretty, it is just outside of the river, with walkways and running areas. There are multiple shops/other small places in the building it is in. The atmosphere was very nice and hip, but did not seem like a very kid-friendly place. More for girls brunch or bar-type in the evening. We went for Mother's Day and had brunch. The pizza was delicious and so were the mimosas! We got the pancake board for the kids, and they were okay. There was a small serving of butter, syrup and a few berries atop 4 "mini" pancakes. I would come back without kids!

Google
The service was great! The food was served hot right out of the wood oven! I don’t drink tap water so I asked for a bottle of water and they gave me this cool “Music Water”. Highly recommend this spot!

Google
Superb!! Service was outstanding. We are everything up. Monday happy hour all day. So we stayed happying :)

Google
We had the south town pizza. It was good but was a bit spicy for my liking. The crust was good and our server was good 👍. I did enjoy the appetizer of mozzarella cheese tasted fresh with the balsamic vinegar.

Google
This place is absolutely GREAT!! The drinks are mixed perfectly and they have probably the BEST pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life! I’d give 6 stars if I could! Definitely recommend.

Google
Last time I went, we got seated pretty quickly but that was the last time we saw them… 30 min later, we hadn’t even ordered our drinks yet. I feel like they forgot about us. We got up and left shortly after.

I had a fantastic experience at Stella Public House! Their wine selection is excellent, offering a great variety to choose from. The Quattro Formaggio pizza was delicious and perfectly made. Highly recommend for a wonderful dining experience!

Yelp
Our forever day date go-to. The pizzas are perfect every time. Music is always great here & the staff are always so friendly.

Margie A.

Yelp
Loved this place. Brussel Sprouts are the bomb. The pizza is even better! Can't wait to come back.

Jonny C.

Yelp
Decent. Nothing crazy good nothing bad. Would definitely come back. I really enjoyed the pasta and would come back just for that. I think I may be biased about pizza so I won't comment

Diana R.

Yelp
Food was excellent--best thin pizza i have ever had--well seasoned, substantial toppings--little skimpy but very tasty! All 4 different pizzas we tried did not disappoint/not good service--had to go inside to ask for a waiter to come take our order after waiting 25 minutes then they messed up on our salad orders and pizza orders where we got 2 salads & 2 pizzas and had to wait another 30 minutes to get 2 additional pizzas --then another 20 minutes to get final 2 missing salads--never got our 2 drinks we ordered--hopefully service improves because we really loved the food and sitting outside on a lovely day--great price for lunch $13.99 for individual pizza plus salad--maple balsamic vinaigrette was very good on salad

Yelp
I made a recent stop at Stella Public House during their happy hour and have to say, it was worth the visit. We ordered the Let That Mango Toast and the Lamb Meatballs from their small plates menu and Quattro Formaggio Pizza. We also had their cider mimosa and the cherry mule. Both drinks were amazing. The food is good, but not amazing, although I did love their meatballs. Service at Stella is very good and their waitstaff is always attentive. It has been almost empty both of times I have eaten there, but it might be due to time of day. Prices are very reasonable, especially for their happy hour and I liked their industrial look. It's a perfect fit for the Blue Star area.

Yelp
I tend to forget about this place and not even sure why when it's so darn good. Service was great, a little empty when we arrived for an early dinner but as we're leaving it was a pretty full house. Food was outstanding, everything was delicious.

Sara E.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, very dark played indie music I enjoyed that. The food, was mediocre definitely not $55 worth. Our server was nice yet put in the wrong pizzas. We waited 30-40 minutes for pizzas when the place was dead. We were on a time limit and she admitted to her mistake and asked if we we're good with that or wanted her to put in the correct pizza and take it to go... no we aren't waiting another 35 minutes more. We still payed for the nasty pizza. I feel, if you have a server make a mistake and you can tell your customers aren't happy you should take it away offer something else or have management approach us. We decided to try this place instead of our go to spot down the street near hemisphere. Big Mistake.

Sam P.

Yelp
My daughter picked this place for one dinner before heading back to school and it was a good pick. I have not been here for a while and usually go to brunch ( so sadly those delicious mimosa flights were not on the menu) but it was a great experience. Love the small interior and a fun crowd of all ages! Service was fast and friendly throughout the night. Began with a gin and bubbles cocktail which was delicious while my husband tried a local IPA flight! The standout of the night was the truffle mushroom Mac n' Cheese! Everyone loved it and we should have ordered more! I don't even like pasta much but this was incredible! We also had the Brussels sprout , brash with dips and cheese board! The cheese board was not my favorite- granted at $17 is remarkably low priced but o would rather pay a bit more and get some more cheese - essentially it was one Brie and some feta/ blue cheese dip! Had to have their pizzas as they are alway so good and made right in front of you on their wood oven! Had the mushroom which I loved and the meat eaters enjoyed the Bee-sting which was also enjoyed though it does pack a spicy punch! Stella is also very reasonable- 5 people,2 rounds drinks , pizza and multiple apps were under $160 before tip! Great spot in Southtown

Yelp
It's always a pleasure to dine here, the service is super good, the food and drinks are delicious. I love it here.

Yelp
Nestled amidst a cluster of other dining establishments, this hidden gem may not catch your eye at first glance, but stumbling upon it was certainly a stroke of luck. Despite my initial lack of expectations, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the inviting ambiance upon entering. Opting to sit at the bar due to limited table availability, I discovered a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or even getting some work done. The exemplary service provided by each and every staff member added to the overall positive experience. Their willingness to assist, regardless of the request, left a lasting impression. Upon a recommendation from one of the workers, I decided to indulge in the truffle Mac & cheese alongside a freshly baked pizza. The Mac & cheese arrived promptly, featuring perfectly al dente noodles enveloped in a creamy sauce infused with the delightful aroma of truffle oil. The pizza, emerging hot and fragrant from the brick oven, exceeded expectations with its tantalizing flavors and myriad topping options, allowing for endless customization. Whether dining solo or with company, the experience promises to be memorable. Suitable for both lunch and dinner outings, this establishment offers a culinary adventure that surpasses mere satisfaction. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all, confident that it will exceed even the loftiest of expectations. Cap off your meal with a leisurely stroll by the nearby river, further enhancing the day's enjoyment.

Yelp
I decided to do lunch. I ordered the Quattro Carne personal pizza with house salad and balsamic vinaigrette. With a starter of the lamb meatballs. The salad was very good. It almost overflowed off the plate. My personal pizza followed. The perfect size for lunch. It had a thin crust, which I love. The meatballs were a little late coming out. I was surprised by the overwhelming chili pepper flakes they contained. It wasn't mentioned in the menu so I was surprised as my mouth gotta hotter with every chew. I don't mind a little spicy but today it was overpowering the enjoyment of the lamb and pork. Steve was my server. He was very nice and fit the aesthetic of the restaurant.

Ruth H.

Yelp
Normally I would start with the food.....this time the main shoutout was our server : Leah This young lady gave us a very detailed run down of the menu with a strong emphasis of farm to table items! We started with the Capress Salad then we each ordered a different type of pizza. My husband went with the. Mr SouthTown and I chose the Pig in a Bush Pizza. Incredible dough ....Italian style ... We will return again!

P S.

Yelp
Food is excellent and the service is even better. Best thin crust pizza. Kate M was so nice, personal and very helpful.

Marcella M.

Yelp
Stella Public House is a gem for craft beer enthusiasts! The selection here is fantastic, with a varied assortment of local beers that cater to all tastes. Whether you're a fan of hoppy IPAs, smooth stouts, or anything in between, it's clear you'll find something you love. The atmosphere is country and relaxed, making it the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy the evening. Stella Public House is definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to for great beer and good vibes.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
stella-Visited for happy hour on a Thursday evening and truly enjoyed it! The service is excellent, and our waitress was warm and welcoming. We sat inside at a booth towards the back, and there are a good amount of seating options inside even though the space is rather small.          We had the strawberry chill cocktails on their happy hour, and they were refreshing and sweet! Also had their margarita pizza, which was very tasty. Not too oily and had the perfect ratio of crust to cheese to tomatoes.         Parking is plenty and easy, as there is a lot across from Halcyon.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner here after volunteering for operation gratitude. We came on a Monday evening and were seated right away. All day happy hour on Mondays! We loved the fun cocktails. Highly recommend the bread with the garlic béchamel and chipotle marinara. My only complain is VERY minor - I wish the music was turned down just a tad. Can't wait to return and try some more small plates and a pie!

Karmen K.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here for dinner and drinks. The vibes are cool and our server was attentive. They have a big beer menu so we got a flight of hoppy beers. For an appetizer, we got the bread board and it's seriously huge. I brought most of it home. We also got a pizza to share but we thought it was salty so I'll try a different one next time.

Yelp
We have been going to Stella for years. Always a must visit when friends visit us, and we head to Southtown. Today is not about the food. Don't get me wrong it was as good ..... real good. Can't believe I'm saying I liked the fig on the pizza, but I did. This post is about something we often forget to do. Spotlight someone when they are real, pure, kinds and tuned in. I'm speaking of Leah! Just having satisfied customers isn't good enough anymore everyone strides for that. In my opinion the next level is creating memories. Her interaction with us, check off - satisfied customer and a memory, and we will continue to eat at Stella, seldom look around at other local places in walking distance. See ya soon again Leah. No pictures needed!

Briane J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go to on Monday's. (All Day Happy Hour) They sadly no longer off the Royale with Cheese but hope they bring it back! One Monday we went, we were waiting a little bit longer than usual in between getting our orders and turns out our server was the manager that night, he said they were short staffed. I work in a clinic and worked in customer service since I was 16 so I'm more than understanding and happy to wait for my food. (Please be nice to businesses, this world is short staffed and being mean won't make your experience better) I love coming here and can't wait for the next time I can come here for my Monday pick me up.

Carol F.

Yelp
What a great find this was for us! After doing a fantastic bike ride along the Riverwalk we walked over to Stella and had a wonderful Sunday brunch. Would highly recommend trying the This and That as well as the wild mushroom hash. And our server grace could not have been more gracious. Finally, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable their prices are compared to many of the other restaurants that we've been to during our visit to San Antonio. Highly recommend!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Can't believe it took me so long to try Stella's! What a great spot! It's in Blue Star area, tucked behind Halcyon. Kind of a hidden gem! Parking can be tricky so keep that in mind, carpool if possible. The atmosphere was really nice, small spot but we were able to be seated immediately. We had a lovely server and were greeted kindly and quickly at the front of the restaurant. We got the steak bites for an appetizer which came with rice and was kind of an odd appetizer that isn't as shareable as most apps are. I wouldn't get it again, but I've heard good things about firecracker shrimp so want to get that next time! Our pizzas were amazing, you have to get pizza while you're here! Great selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. Will definitely return!

Monica A.

Yelp
Been to Blue Star area many times and finally went to Stella to enjoy their pizzas. We were in the company of a doggo so we were required to sit outside. Was ok except the fact it was cold outside and our server was nowhere to be found. We were seated and she was going to give us a few minutes to look over the menu, but then she didn't return for a good 15mins, while we were out in the cold, with no warmers anywhere near us, and it was mid-50s. We requested hot tea, to go along with our 2 pizzas. Ended up ordering the Margherita and the Bee Sting pizza. Both were great!! I wish I could say more for the service because his was not it. The food was great, the service wasn't.

Farah L.

Yelp
Really great pizza and salad. I got That Damn Pizza and the side Caesar Salad. The pizza had a nice funkiness to it. And the salad had a bit of a spicy kick. Really great combination of flavors. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu.

Jose G.

Yelp
I was out exploring the Blue Star complex and walked into this little gem by accident. I walked in and took a seat at their bar area. I was greeted by a friendly worker and ordered up a glass of wine to kick off the night. As I was exploring their menu my eyes laid eyes on one of their pizzas making its way to an enthused customer. I closed the menu and quickly ordered up a pizza for myself. The pizza was fantastic! Great flavor throughout and a crispy crust that can only be achieved by a wood burning oven! I definitely recommend this place as the food was very tasty and the environment is lively.

Michael B.

Yelp
Stella is a really good option in Southtown for a date, dinner with friends, or even a night out alone at the bar. Their known for a fairly extensive tap list, modern chic atmosphere, and above all, pizza. Unfortunately, their pizza is their weak spot as it's outdone by other menu options. The best thing on the menu is the lamb meatballs. Even after years their quality has stuck with me. Surprisingly, the more ingredients on the pizza, the weaker the pizza. Stick to the basics like the margherita pizza for the best flavors. The beer list is good as are the drinks and the service. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is free but will be an absolutely pain especially during lunch or dinner hours. If you can't find parking in the Blue Star parking lot, go half a block east and you'll find plenty of street parking.

Cindy S.

Yelp
We were there Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025 @ noon. Not busy. Staff were so nice, personal & very helpful. We ordered the Greens of the Goddess (a salad) & the Tomato Basil Soup. We split the salad. It was an awesome salad & would highly recommend it. A very cool looking & well decorated restaurant, which looks like it was a factory of some kind at some point in the past. We strongly recommend this place.

Frances T.

Yelp
Very trendy spot, the food was delicious. We order 3 different pizzas and wow! Each one had a different flavor. The crust is thin and not too heavy. These pizzas are shareable. We had the marghertjpizza, strawberry fields pizza. All had great flavors. We had excellent service. For a Saturday it was not too busy when we went at 6 pm.

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Wow, it was amazingly good! We had Leah as our waitress. She was fabulous with what to pick from the menu. She was very accurate on the menu and also what pared our with drinks. Thank you Leah, We will be back! Red and Cindy loved the lamb and pizza

Isabel B.

Yelp
My word ! Or maybe lack of....I am speechless. I do not believe I have EVER eaten a pizza as good as this. It is hard for me to say which of the three we ordered was my favorite. The Marguerite pizza is so simple yet amazing. The Quattro Formaggio was a new try and it was fabulous. The tartness of the cheese with a tinge of sweetness was a great combination. Lastly, pigs in a bush. The topping was perfect and by adding prosciutto is a perfect blend. I just can't say enough. The food is spectacular, the atmosphere is quaint and the staff is attentive. Definitely a place to bring family and friends.

Will M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place (even though the rotated out my favorite pizza). Brunch wasn't as good as their normal menu, imo, but it was still above average.

Daniel T.

Yelp
3.5/5 Good service and nice spot to hang out. Pizza is tasty and the beer service is interesting. The location's close proximity to Pizzeria Vesuvio and Il Forno will probably keep me from coming back too often.

Melanie S.

Yelp
Great service tonight as we were looking for somewhere low key to chill, and get some work done. We sat at the corner with our laptops and our server was so friendly and attentive. He gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted and went through our options and many questions with patience. They have different daily specials, although today's (Tuesday) was the farmers market pizza, which they ran out of. You can also order from Halcyon which is connected to Stella from the hallway and they had a reverse happy hour starting at 8pm. We ended up getting a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, the wild mushroom Mac and cheese (adding grilled chicken) and the carrot cake with coffee for something sweet. For drinks my friends ordered the sangria which looked beautiful and the Long Island coffee which I had never seen before.

Jessica S.

Yelp
I love almost every single pie (pizza) I have tried here! They are so creative with their recipes. I hope one day they bring back the blackberry pizza, it was a gem. Their honey brie cheese dip is so delicious! The staff is always so attentive and friendly. Their date night special on Thursdays is such a great deal and I'll always always recommend this place to anyone I cross paths with!

Ambar A.

Yelp
first of all we had the most lovely server in the world! she made great recs and she was super nice . We had the cesar salad and the shrimp and they were both really good. The cesar salad had a twist to it and it had sun dried tomatoes and etc soo good! we also had cocktails and they were all yummy I need to go back to try the rest of the menu! i also had my puppy there and they brought her water it was so sweet ! recommend this place a lot .

Zhao C.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of dimmed-light places, but every once in awhile, it's the perfect ambiance for a date night! We started off with the Wild Mushroom Mac, and it was the perfect shareable size with a hint of the truffle oil in every bite! The Spicy Sausage and Peppers Pizza was delicious, but the peppers could have been more spicy in my opinion -- I'm a fiend for spice and dashed red pepper flakes all over my slices haha. And you can never go wrong with a side salad to compliment the pizza! I'm obsessed with their maple balsamic vinaigrette dressing -- it was the perfect dip with the pizza crust, too! We even asked our waiter for a few containers of the dressing to-go because I was that in love with it haha! I'd definitely come back to try out some of their other pizzas next time (but to also get that maple balsamic vinaigrette again lol).

Joey G.

Yelp
Booty. The food is always straight booty. It's never fully cooked if it's chicken or it's just cardboard appearing as food and priced as caviar. Stay away. Also the service is subpar and even at times rude.

Pamela V.

Yelp
I haven't been here since before covid. Today did not disappoint. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken pizza and let's just say it was "Yum, Yum, Yummy"

C D.

Yelp
My family and I have been to this restaurant an uncountable number of times over the years. My son and I have a tradition before we go to Spurs games. We go to Stella and sit at the bar and order pizzas. We've done this no less than 20 times. But never again. Upon sitting down at the bar which included 4 other people, a female employee approached us and rudely stated "I don't allow children at my bar"! Truly taken back and embarrassed I told her that my son, who is 11, and I have sat at the bar 20 times. "Well im the head bartender and I don't allow it". I then went over to speak to the manager who stated that he could sit at the bar as long as I didn't leave the room. I replied that I would not be spending my money here anymore and informed the "head bartender" that she was extremely rude. Customers should never be treated that way especially in a relatively empty restaurant. I hope this reaches the owner and that future customers will not be treated that way. You just lost a longtime loyal customer.

Jeff W.

Yelp
The food was the BEST and the spice was unique, the waiter Steven V.was very nice and caring, also the vibe was very good. This is a must due. Get off the river walk and come here.

Andrew M.

Yelp
What a night! They were overwhelmed by the very 1st Krampus parade in SA but Brianna was on top of it and managed expectations and remained sweet, attentive and kicked ass in a restaurant that was fully packed. Incredible work by her and the entire staff. The food was excellent, as always. Thank y'all.

Fernanda F.

Yelp
Stella Public House is a go-to for many when looking for a place to grab a bite in the Southtown area. They specialize in artisan wood-fired pizzas and all their ingredients are fresh from local farms. I've been here a couple times throughout the years and I feel like my orders have always been a little bit of a hit or miss. I recently visited Stella during lunch time on a weekday and was shocked at how busy the place was. You could definitely tell this is a go-to for many folks that work around the area. We decided to go with two of their pizzas and the brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts came out super quick and it was huge plate you could share with a couple people. I felt like they were a little too sweet for my taste, but my guest loved them. After that, we got our two wood fire pizzas; one had pork and barbecue sauce (totally forgot the name), and they other was a philly cheesesteak pizza. They philly cheesesteak pizza was absolutely delicious and definitely something you can't find anywhere else. The other pizza was (again) too sweet for my taste. I'll definitely be coming back for another of their delicious pizzas!

Redha U.

Yelp
My friends chose this place for our last minute dinner hang, so I had no idea what to expect! Located in the Blue Star Complex, it's conveniently located near the Riverwalk and a bunch of small businesses to explore and snack in. I know there's a good gelato place (South Alamode) and a coffee spot (Halcyon) nearby! Service was excellent! Our server was really friendly and very down to earth. With the service, space, and food, We had a pretty good experience here overrall. Their mushroom Mac is a bit different compared to most mac n cheeses, but I think that's why it stands out! It reminds me a lot of an Alfredo pasta. Pretty good! Their pizzas were good too! For me, the most important thing in a pizza is it's dough, and this one had the right amount of soft yet crunchy! Our favorite of the night was the Bee Sting Pizza, without the prosciutto. It has honey on it, but don't knock it till you try it! A pretty good casual spot if you ask me!

Andrea G.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends. Ambience was cool. I was getting industrial modern vibes. The table we sat at had stools with no back, so eating there was a little uncomfy. The Cider mimosa that I had during happy hour was average. The Hot Honey pizza was ok. I must admit that I am a little biased and I prefer a more traditional flavors for pizza. The Brussel sprouts were good, but a tad too vinegar-y for my taste. The group seemed to enjoy the bread basket, that finish quickly. For me, the star of the night we're the churros. It was enough to share with the table, they were about 1.5-2 in. Pieces of churros with a strawberry and an horchata dipping sauce. This place is worth a try.

Lorena M.

Yelp
Could have been top notch like the other visit, but this time we were forgotten. I had to get up and get my own refills of water...several times. I was very disappointed. But the food boosted the star ratings back up to 3 for this visit. Perhaps next visit will go back to our normal excellent service. Or was it a one time fluke?

David G.

Yelp
I've been to the Stella Public House, which is a Bistro/Coffee House in one, several times. Typically I've had a good experience here but, not so much this time. My friend ordered the Roasted Chicken Caprese and I, the Mushroom Mac & Cheese. Both of these dishes are perhaps the best on the menu. Other menu options include Crab Cakes, Pecan Salmon and Eggplant (or Chicken) Parmesan. All of which I'm certain will please. The reason why my experience wasn't great this time is: I ordered ahead a second Mushroom Mac & Cheese to-go right up front. My Server told me she'll place the to-go order when we get our meal. No problem, it took a while to get our meal, when we finally did, I confirmed I still wanted the to-go order and wanted to make certain it would be ready when we get our check. Again, NP. When we paid our bill, the Server said she'll be right back with the to-go order. Fifteen minutes later I was told, the order will take another hour to prepare. REALLY?! She refunded the money I paid separately for the to-go since we couldn't wait and had to get back to work which we were already late for. Bottom line, I recommend Stella Public House for a really great unique meal, just don't be in a hurry for it.

Rich L.

Yelp
I've had the opportunity to visit this place a few times now - the first couple of times were libations only. They have a decent selection of beer(s) on tap and let you sample some before choosing + they offer wine & cocktails. The one time I ate here I had some mixed feelings about the wood fired pizza. I was with a friend of mine that cannot eat gluten so we ordered a gluten free pizza, which they offer and it's an additional $5 which we expected. The problem we had with it is the pizza is smaller than the regular pizzas. I'm paying extra for a smaller pizza, that's odd, but oh well. The pepperoni pizza was good so no issues with anything else. It's a chill spot located in the blue star arts area with a nice vibe. I must add that Kyle has helped me out a few times I've been there and he's been very helpful, so shoutout to Kyle. Overall cool place to stop by and I'll definitely come back. Peace.

Janie M.

Yelp
Awesome Halloween cocktails and savory pizza. This place has a great vibe and the server was so friendly.

Rhonda P.

Yelp
The tempting aroma of the dishes at Stella led myself to give them a go for dinner. We were seated and offered drinks, drinks were not the problem though, we ordered pasta, salmon and what we thought and told by a server that would be garlic knots'... were not-- as we patiently waited for them, we we're Sadly disappointed as it was bread rolls with no significant garlic flavor, the salmon was overcooked and dry, my pasta was bland. We stopped eating early on but the supposed garlic knots did it for us. We shared our concerns with the server whom in turn spoke with the manager. No matter the unappealing circumstances the manager was professional and understood our frustration and suddenly turned the instant around and did not include charges for meals that we were dissatisfied with. I hope to return sometime again soon to give their pizzas a try and hopefully the next time is no where near the first.

Sam D.

Yelp
Just wanted to add a pic of the "This and That" charcuterie board. It may be a little different each time we go but it's always delicious and plenty for a table of four.
