"Stellina Pizzeria isn’t ready to open an incoming Northern Virginia location yet, but the acclaimed Italian counter in Union Market district has started servicing its new Shirlington neighborhood with a chic pasta vending machine. A refrigerated food dispenser parked at 2800 S. Randolph Street in Arlington offers family-size pasta kits ($30) to make cacio e pepe and lamb ragu at home, along with jars of its sauces, fresh noodles, DIY cannoli, tiramisu, Stellina T-shirts and swag, and more. “In Italy, but Europe generally, vending machines are already much more popular than here,” co-owner Antonio Matarazzo tells Washingtonian. “You can go buy wine 24/7.” Credit cards and mobile payments are accepted Sunday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m." - Tierney Plumb

"Stellina Pizzeria, the essential Italian street food spot that bakes neo-Neapolitan pies near Union Market, will plant a flag in Northern Virginia later this year. The restaurant, which became a fast hit when it opened in 2019, announced plans today for a new 2,000-square-foot lease at the Village at Shirlington (2800 S. Randolph Street). The new addition will slide into the recently vacated home of Café Pizzaiolo with plans to open by the end of the year." - Tierney Plumb

Neapolitan pizza on this one. I liked it, my buddy was meh. It's super droopy pizza and the bottom crust got pretty soggy so it's a fold or fork option for me. The flavor was solid, good cheese and I liked the small pepperoni. The menu pepperoni pizza (oddly) comes with salami not pepperoni, which I am not a fan of on my pizza, so swapped for actual pepperoni. My buddy had 1/2 cheese and 1/2 sausage for our normal comparison criteria, good flavor but he's just not a fan of the floppy crust. The main crust was good, flaky and not doughy and not too heavy. Pizzas are 12 inch personal size. I have hit two small pizza places lately with no fountain drinks and neither had coke zero but rather diet coke, which is a preference thing for me and my buddy. They have the glass bottle sodas, and I do like the glass bottle, but they are the very small bottles, and only had the basic sodas and of course no refills on those so four sips and it's done. Small place, clean and bright with both low and high tops. Free garage parking and paid street parking available, Shirlington can be rough to drive and park in when busy. Service was good and pricing was average. I say definitely try this one.

Google
The pizza was pretty good. The cake was awesome. I'm giving my experience five stars because I was able to get two pizzas for the price of one via Uber Eats. The guys working there the night I visited seemed stressed and upset. Maybe it was a busy time. This location is also very hard to get to and it's very hard to find parking if you don't live within walking distance. I'd return if I found myself within walking distance of Stellina and I had another deal I could use, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return to Stellina.

Google
Consistently good food. My wife and I have gone here several times now and always enjoy the experience. The food, service, and atmosphere is always very good. The selection is wide enough with pizza and pasta everyone should be able to find something they’ll enjoy. And there are other selections as well to try. I’m going to continue exploring the different options so I can expand my experience here. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Consistently good food and service. I love that it’s a block from my work, but for others, your peace of mind is knowing there’s a free parking garage across the street so there’s no reason not to try. It’s a casual setting for friends, coworkers, or someone special because you’re guaranteed a great dish. This time I had the cacio e Pepe. The portion size was perfect, leaving me satisfied and not feeling stuffed. Their food is so good! Not only is there free parking in a garage across the street, but service and food are great. This was the 2nd time to try this place and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very casual so you can relax and enjoy great food. I opted to try a different pizza (carrettiera, which was very good) while my wife went for the lasagna (delicious). I’m very critical of lasagna but found theirs full of flavor and cooked perfectly. One of the best pizzas I’ve tried in the area! There’s a parking garage right across the street so there’s no reason to not give it a try. Service here (my first time) was excellent. We immediately seated and the waiter made sure to get us comfortable and answer any questions. For the setting, it’s very casual, so a great place for lunch with friends, coworkers, or your family. And the pizzas were delicious. I tried the affumicata, and my wife had the peppertoni.

Google
I wanted to share that I thought to come here for the first time during lunch and they gave me a very burnt and uncut pizza. It was very difficult to eat. Not sure if they make pizza’s differently when you take-out versus dining in but they need to do better and the pizza was very oily you can see it near the crust. Total cost $21.00.

Google
It's a nice and good pizzeria... But it's not only a pizzeria, lots of other dishes to try, especially the pasta one ! Lots of parking space and in a beautiful location close to few nice streets with shops and restaurants. You mast pay a visit !

Google
I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, but i ordered the Valentines dinner for two to go. I cannot praise the quality and preparation enough. It was a 4-course dinner with a little bit of prep necessary and instructions to make it look and taste like a fine dining experience. It was by the best takeout food I've ever had and that was due to the perfect preparation by Stellina. Also when i arrived the staff was very friendly and courteous. I can't wait to try the pizza and other regular menu items.

Google
Delicious Pizza! I ordered the Pepperoni and Picante pizzas online, and they were both ready earlier than originally estimated! The pizzas were delicious and reheated well. They are a little larger than personal pizzas, and I think one pie would be enough for two people to share. The crusts are crispy, but very soft and delicious either way!

Google
Wide variety of tomato and white pizzas. Had a white with mushrooms, onions and sausage. Delicious. The waitress and staff were friendly. Atmosphere was good with lively music, at just the right volume to enjoy while carrying on a conversation. A mural of Sophia Loren added to the atmosphere

Yelp
I love Stellina, they make my favorite seafood squid ink pasta in the area. Everything at Stellina is yummy and so reasonably priced. We always get the cuppo misto which includes various fried seafood. If I'm feeling particularly hungry, we'll also get a pizza to share. All of their locations are casual with indoor and outdoor seating. The locations we have been to have indoor and outdoor options and the service is pretty consistent.

Reba M.

Yelp
**Pros:** - The waiter was very friendly, even though it was close to closing time. - The restaurant was clean! **Cons:** - We couldn't find any pizza options with chicken or other meats; the only meat option was pork. - I didn't like the pizza style--the crust was very fluffy at the edges, with no toppings, and the toppings were not spread evenly. The amount of toppings was much less than expected. - Is an 18% service fee standard?

Melinda T.

Yelp
Just ordered my first and last pizza it was horrible and I had my mouth set on eating a good pizza it's been a while NEVER again and it was $19 for a personal size pizza

Yaz R.

Yelp
The prices are very high for the size of the food that you get! However, the food was pretty good. One pizza can be easily split between just a couple people both not eating much to begin with and I know others have mentioned how their pizzas are smaller. I liked the plain simple pizza. The crust was good and doughy. I also tried the cacio e Pepe which was an incredibly small serving for $20 but was delicious! This dish does get oily however after sitting for a bit. I also tried a bite of the chocolate cake which was sooo good - not too heavy and super moist. I would try other pizzas here.

Yelp
4 stars for the pizza 0 stars for the other items on the menu. Def don't get anything but pizza here. The Caesar salad was rotten. We had to send it back. The meatballs were hard as rocks and cold. The cacio e pepe was congealed and flavorless and the pasta was undercooked. So super disappointing!! But then the pizza was very good. Super hot and delicious. The crust is perfectly charred and chewy. Very good Neapolitan pizza. Cannoli were a little too sweet. I think with a few tweaks to the rest of the menu and this place could be a 5.

William D.

Yelp
Pizza was great. You have to eat it at while it's still blistering hot. The tomato sauce is so delicious. It's fresh. To me pizza is about dough and tomatoes. I really enjoy both at Stellina. Cannolis were not as fresh as the last time. Shells felt a little old and the filling felt more one dimensional. It felt much plainer and sweeter. I thought I remembered it being lighter possibly with some lemon zest? We got ignored after our food was delivered. It was fine because we were having a good conversation... It was a bit odd, but I still recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
I looooved this Pizza! I kept hearing about stellina but for some reasons kept postponing my visit...the I finally ordered from them (so my pizza wasn't super hot when it arrived, but I warmed it on a pan). I am definitely also going to check them out in person, probably in their other location in DC. I had "affumicata" and it was soooo good!! Very rich in terms of flavor, and also a bit heavy, but hey, what can you do, it's pizza after all!!! The dough is just the way I like it, fluffy, yeasty, rich and with that smoky smell I love from wood oven pizza. My aim is to try all of their pizzas (or kind of) because this clearly hit the spot and because the way they combine ingredients is pretty refined and balanced! I can't say anything about ambience and service, but I'll write more about it next time. If quality of food is your main criteria, this is the place!

Julianne B.

Yelp
The pizza was good but when it came out, it didn't have the toppings on it and I had to add them myself. Kinda weird. Would have preferred all the toppings go into the oven. However, it was fast and the inside was cute. I'd come back but maybe ask for a full cook next time.

Christina T.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed our meal here. Started with an arugula salad. The salad had good flavor and I enjoyed it, but I will say it was a little underwhelming for a $16 salad. Moving onto the mains, we got a margarita pizza and the seafood pasta. The pizza had the perfect Neapolitan style doughy crust, and the seafood pasta was to die for. A little spicy, but not too much. We split tiramisu for dessert and enjoyed this as well. We each got a drink, I got a glass of wine he got a Negroni. The Negroni was served in a cup of ice, more like a mixed drink so if you're a Negroni snob beware. The wine was good and reasonably priced too! The service was great, she made multiple recommendations which we tried. She let us know that the service fee covers tip and we gave her an extra couple dollars. She told us to come back for bottomless aperol spritz (they have a special!) or happy hour.

Elvin M.

Yelp
My wife and I are originally from NYC so we are always looking for some good pizza. We saw Stellina on the way to the movie theater in Shirlington. They have a daily happy hour special. We opted for the special. The margherita was prepared well I must say it was not bad. The special also comes with one drink. We really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the server was amazing. He was professional and was always following upnon us. I highly recommend if you are in Shirlington and your looking for some good Italian pizza.

Honey B.

Yelp
Breathtaking how far this place has fallen. It used to be the GOAT but now it's best days are in the rear view. Prices super high, food quality super low. I used to love this place. It's really sad how mediocre it is now. My Cacio e Pepe was inedible. I hate to waste food (especially expensive food!) but it was just a congealed mass of blah and it went right in the bin

Lia M.

Yelp
I really enjoy Stellina. I've been once in person and ordered delivery a few times. In person, the service was great. Delivery is usually pretty quick, despite it being third party. They also have a fantastic happy hour deal, which is a drink, a small pizza, chips, one arancini, and one mozzarella in carrozza for $20. Additional drinks are $5. You can't beat it. I like their pizza. It's tasty with a nice crust. Love their mozzarella in carrozza. Normally, I wouldn't think much of homemade chips but theirs are really good and crispy. Also, the mozzarella sticks and chips reheat well in a cast iron pan. Recently, I ordered the cacio e pepe, and that was also good, though maybe not maybe not the best I've had, but it definitely hit the spot. The pasta was perfectly cooked. And their Aperol spritz was well done. Stellina is a great option when looking for Italian cuisine and drinks.

Yelp
I had such a great night out at Stellina! After years of walking past this pizzeria, I was excited to finally have an excuse to try it out with my two little kids and meeting up with my cousin and her boyfriend. The menu looked great, and I was having a hard time deciding what to get but knew that I was excited to try the arancini. When my cousin pointed out the menu on the napkin box, I was floored! There are rarely benefits to eating early with little kids, but Stellina gave me a reason - they have happy hour every single day between 5 to 7 PM! Happy hour specials included at your own 6 inch personal pizza, potato chips, mozzarella stick, one arancini ball, and one drink of choice. My husband and I split the special because I only wanted the arancini and opted out of the mozzarella stick so that I could have two of them. They were delicious! The pizza was just so and so. Maybe I need to come back and try again. The staff was friendly and attentive and the ambience inside was really cute. I like that they have upstairs seating as well. The kids menu was great and next time we come I will definitely only order one dish for them to share because the kids portions are pretty large. My kids barely ate half of their dishes! The only things I took a star off for was that the kids drinks seem to be really pricey to me and the pizza that I tasted was just OK. I'm excited to come back and try something other than a regular margherita pizza!

Nilza M.

Yelp
Excellente! Great happy hour special. Pizza was delicious. Service is fast, friendly and attentive. Love the vibe in this little place. Bought a bag of their coffee and it is divine!

Sammy M.

Yelp
I've been dying to try Cacio e Pepe.... Well I found the perfect spot for it!!!! The picture doesn't do the justice Probably my favorite pasta in the whole world... so cheesy and creamy, amazing flavor and cooked to perfection! This place looks little but it has an upstairs seating area as well with a lot more space, staff are very nice, great place overall! Will be back to try other dishes.

Harley S.

Yelp
I don't understand how a place like Palette 22 in Shirlington gets any business at all when THIS delightful little restaurant is serving superior food right across the street. The best thing about Stellina is that it isn't trying too hard. They serve proven, rustic italian classics, prepared well. The Neapolitan pizzas have just the right amount of char to the chewy crust. The salads aren't over-complicated or over-dressed. Pastas are homemade, cooked and sauced properly. Service is friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable. What more could you want?

Lucy Y.

Yelp
This place ranks as one of my favorite pizza spots. The crust is amazing! The flavor profile is well balanced, we ordered the fungi pizza. We felt there were just a little too much mushrooms on the pizza. We got take out, service was friendly when I went to pick up the pizza, the atmosphere was relaxed and social...at 9:45pm there was a decent amount people dining still. Love the pizza dough!!

Kim J.

Yelp
We just left from our first visit...this won't be our last. Greeted by kind, smiling staff who were enthusiastic and made us feel welcome. You don't see that enough these days. Pizza was great and there is a great happy hour deal that we will be back for when we're not driving FYI. Gratuity was included as they made us aware before payment.

Melissa N.

Yelp
I see the great reviews, but I wasn't such a big fan. I went for brunch. I think they have a good priced brunch. It's $35 per person. The whole table must participate to get this offer. I think we ordered the carbonara pizza. My biggest problem with this item is that it tasted very much like leftovers. We also ordered the Smashed potatoes, and the Stellina Toast. Yeah, we had a carb overload. The toast was the one I really like. I do like that they bring a bottle of champagne and OJ, and you can make your mimosas to taste. I would still probably try them again but not for brunch. 3-ish stars.

S R.

Yelp
They raised the prices 20%. Asking $18 for a basic Margherita is outrageous. Wait staff is not fluent in English (we are Italian, it is not our first language either but come on...dai!) We will look for a new pizza place. Oh, and please get some sharp knives to cut the pizza!

Heather L.

Yelp
Absolute disaster of a business. Ordered our dinner the day before knowing it would be busy because it is Valentine's Day, opted to pick up/get curbside service. Checked in through the toast tab and for five min, no communication. I called them letting them know we were outside and they said the food would be out in two minutes. Waited another ten min and just put our hazard lights and went in, the order wasn't even ready. Mind you, there's no loading zone or anywhere to even remotely wait without being illegally parked. When I got to the counter, the entire staff seemed to be frazzled. The owner or someone was directing where people should be. I got the pizza and cannolis first, I indicated I would drop it off in the car as my car was still in a no park zone. Came back to get the roasted brussel sprouts which was holding up our order. When we got home, the pizza was very cold, the brussel sprouts were blackened/burnt (not roasted), and the cannolis looked good. I mean come on, if you're going to give us our order almost 30 min late, at least the part of the order that made it delayed should be well made/cooked well. The one star is for the potential the pizza had if it were warm and the cannolis, but honestly would not go back based on brussel sprouts and service. I would reconsider trying again if the business was able to accommodate their customers dining in and taking out. I believe that both streams of customers are equally important and not being able to accommodate one without the other is an example of a poorly run business PLUS THE BURNT BRUSSEL SPROUTS!

Sophia P.

Yelp
Stellina is a cute little pizza place tucked away in the corner in Shirlington - away from the other hustle and bustle. I came here on a Friday night and while the other restaurants were packed, Stellina was busy but not crowded. This place is definitely an underrated find in the area! The decor felt very modern, casual, but still cozy. The menu was surprisingly pretty extensive but we opted for the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, and lasagna (beef and veal ragu and Cotto & Funghi for the pizza. The sprouts were soft yet charred, and super flavorful as they were marinated in a honey balsamic sauce. The lasagna was so hearty and cheesy and was the perfect meal on a cold day. The addition of veal really made this entree feel more "upscale". The pizza crust was the right amount of chewy and char, and great proportion of sauce to meat and cheese. Super reasonably priced (~$15-17) per entree. Will definitely be adding this restaurant to the list of rotating staples when craving pizza.

Soo C.

Yelp
Food was decent but many of our appetizers which were fried were not very warm. Service was mediocre. We were a party of six and seated at a table upstairs where they added two chairs to the ends of our table and it was squished between two high tops tables which left no space for the people at the end to sit comfortably without being right up against the other seats at the tables. They sat other people right behind us even when there was space at other tables. Being a shorter person it was still very cramped sitting at the end of the table. The noise level is far too loud to carry on a conversation without yelling. When it came to settling the bill, they were unable to spilt our check 4 ways. If we'd known this at the beginning of the evening, we would've just used one card however with the server not being able to spilt the bill, we ended up just using one credit card. Lots of confusion with our orders and our orders being inaccurate. The other locations have been much more enjoyable. Thankfully my dinner companions made the evening worthwhile.

Rachel G.

Yelp
There was a maggot in my fiancé's drink. The maggot is on the table in the left of this picture, and in the top left of the drink there is the shell of it or it may be another one...I don't know because we left quickly. A health inspector needs to go here immediately.

Kaylin L.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the bathrooms were clean, and it was such a cozy little spot to stop in for a meal! Will be back again!

CJ S.

Yelp
I am not from the area but travel to Arlington frequently. I stumbled across Stellina Pizzeria on Yelp and decided to give it a try...and am I happy I did. Stellina has become a stable every time I am in town. Everything that I have ordered as been exceptional ... best pizza in the National Capital Region for sure. If you doubt then recommend you give it a try. I love the cheese pizza but would highly recommend Cacio & Pepe pizza...masterful pizza. I also love the Arugula & Finocchio salad.

Ellie D.

Yelp
We've been here once before and I remember enjoying the pizza. I didn't realize that they have a whole top floor for guests who dine in. What we got: Bersagliera - 4* great flavor. I really appreciated that they packed the toppings in a separate container so the arugula didn't get wilty (we ordered takeout). I wish it had a bit more of the black pepper honey sauce though and that the pizza had been cut into slices so it'd be easier to eat. If we'd brought it home that wouldn't have been a problem but we were eating picnic style sans utensils. Still, I'd definitely order this one again as the flavor was good and I enjoyed the pizza crust. I'd probably just ask for more of the black pepper honey.

Samantha F.

Yelp
A couple friends and I came here for dinner during a nice day and we had a great time sitting outside and enjoying the weather. We all got different pizzas and enjoyed them. My one friend is gluten free/dairy free and had options too. The waitress was nice and we were served quickly.

Aresh S.

Yelp
We went there for dinner. The ambiance was cozy. The staff were friend, professional, and helpful. I loved that they pressed the silverware in a paper cover. The food was excellent, we tried the Lasagna, FRAID" CICCHEN PARMIGIANA, and Margherita Pizza. It was great. It's not a classic Italian but more Neo-Napoleon (Americanized) style. They also have a hand-cut, store made chips which I loved.

Betty H.

Yelp
Met with my friends here for a Friday night dinner and she recommend this new pizza place. I don't eat diary so at first I was meh about it. But the whole experience was so nice that I'm already dreaming about my next visit. For app, you have to get the Cuoppo Misto, all fried seafood foodness in one plate. And it doesn't leave you with the greasy feeling! For entrees, we got cacio & pepe. Creamy and delicious with the unmami flavor. Pasta was cooked to al dente perfection. We also got piccante pizza with the spicy smoked meat (everything is fully cooked for my mommy-to-be friends :)). Thin crested but still has the crispy and chewiness of a nice oven brick pizza. So sorry I was enjoying the drinks too much that I forgot pics of those two. For desserts, you MUST get the Bomboloni! I swear you will not be disappointed. Fried dough with hazelnut cream, what could go wrong. Then the fancy cannoli was another nice win to the ending. My waiter was so friendly and warm, he really elevated the whole vibe for us. We saw many dates happening so it does look like a cute and fun date spot if you're not looking for some serious candlelight dimmed atmosphere.

Emily H.

Yelp
Came here with friends and opted for the Social Brunch option for the table, which means two menu items plus very cheap drinks for $35. It was a FEAST since you can order two pizzas, two pastas etc if you are so inclined. The spritzes were also delish. The only thing I didn't love was the frito misto since it had whole small fried fish with bones which I did not expect. Overall really fun for a group, and excellent service!

Jenny O.

Yelp
Shirlington is killing it with great restaurants! I am a bit late to saying welcome, Stellina but you are so welcomed here! I am super jazzed to have a fantastic pizza place in our neighborhood. I've tried a variety of pizzas and they are all excellent - they nail the neo-neapolitan style with perfectly chewy crust. However, the affumicata absolutely blew my mind! If you are craving for smokey flavors (helllloo sweater weather!) then this one is for you. It has triple the smoke with smoked pecorino crema, smoked mozzarella and smoked cherry tomatoes! The speck was beautifully salty and cured. The smokiness and saltiness was then balanced out with sweet and juicy figs. My god, this is really the pizza of my dreams. Check out the negronis here also. Quite delicious! The staff is super friendly and nice (and fast)! They even gave our puppy a sweet bandana and water when we dined here yesterday. They have a QR code that's not only for viewing the menu but also to order and check out.

Samantha L.

Yelp
After dinner nearby, my boyfriend and I headed to Stellina Pizzeria for drinks and desserts. If you like tart drinks, I'd recommend the Peppino cocktail, which consists of vodka, limoncello, lemon juice, and bitters, or the DCF Limoncello. We shared a slice of Amaretto Cake, which consisted of a semi-moist vanilla cake with almond frosting. It was garnished with a soggy salted cornmeal cookie. We felt that it would have tasted better with an Amaretto cookie or candied almond. We look forward to trying their appetizers (including Cuoppo Misto, Cavolini di Bruxell, Carciofo alla Romana, Polpette della Nonna, and Parmigiana di Melanzane), pizza (including Margherita, Napulella, Cotto & Funghi, and Basilico alla Genovese), pasta (including Paccheri all'Avellinese, Chitarra di Pesce, and Lasagna Classica) and other desserts (including Dulce De Leche Cake, Italian Cheesecake, and various gelato flavors)!

Mia L.

Yelp
The margherita was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had so it was worth the price. I would say it is comparable to Puppatella but the crusts here are better in my opinion. The lemonade was also really good

Laura W.

Yelp
We ordered delivery and it was very mediocre. The pizzas were only mildly warm and we were right around the corner. We ordered 2 between 3 adults and a toddler who eats like one. The amount was perfect for us. We ordered the Piccante (Tomato sauce, house-made spicy sausage, spicy soppressata, salami, 'nduja jam, fiordilatte) and the AFFUMICATA (Smoked pecorino crema, poached pears, smoked mozzarella, smoked cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, speck). Piccante: truly spicy for a pizza, no joke. Just kind of a meat overload for me. Affumicata: Really good mix of taste and textural sensations. Salty/sweet. It was hard to cut in the hotel room my parents had, so while I know it's not traditional, I wonder if They could have an option on delivery and to-go orders to ask for it to be sliced. I'd love to dine in person since my only complaint was the temperature of the food.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Can't go wrong coming here. It's a bit expensive (and they tack on administrative fees at the end which can be confusing regarding what is a tip versus a fee) but the food and service are always great. They have bento box lunch specials which are a good value. And they make an excellent aperol spritz! A neighborhood pizza favorite.

Amanda K.

Yelp
Bottom line: Go here! Excellent Neapolitan style pizzas in a casual environment. Wonderful service. How is this place not more crowded? We ordered two pizzas - the crust is perfection - it is full of flavor and cooked beautifully. The toppings taste high quality and fresh - the tomato sauce, the cheese, the pestos were all amazing. They have some nice, affordable wines to go with the pizza too :)

Gail B.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I usually visit the DC location. The Virginia location is located in Shirlington Village. It is a cute neighborhood. There is street parking nearby and a free parking lot across the street. The restaurant follows VA Covid protocol, which was at 50% capacity when I visited. The outdoor patio is also available. The napkin holders have the restaurant menu code that can be scanned with your phone. I love the margherita pizza. The basil flavor is lovely. My friend gave me a bite of her eggplant Parmesan. It is excellent. The fried eggplant was amazing. It was wonderfully flakey and delicious. The lemon ginger sorbet was full of strong lemony and ginger flavors. It was devine. The tiramisu was rich and sweet. I ordered hubby a to go panini sandwich. It came with homemade fries. It was large enough for two people. We sat downstairs. The upper floor is nice too. The staff was friendly. There were so many menu choices. It was hard to decide. I will have to return and try the Sunday brunch sometime.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. I will say you can tell how fresh the ingredients are. I just think for the price point it's fairly good not mind blowing. The choices are unique for pizza toppings as well. I might come back and try one of the pasta options to see if I enjoy it more. The waitress and waiter we had to track down every time we needed something. I would recommend on that note to sit downstairs instead so you're closer to the register to ask for assistance. Overall just alright. Nothing too memorable. However great decor from the last pizza shop that was in this space.

Yelp
Came here with my spouse and Mom for a Friday night. Still just as good as the first time. I will say, they were quite busy, which was good to see, but it left us to sit upstairs. I would much rather take the ambiance on the first floor, but I guess we need to get there sooner next time! We ordered some apps and they were tasty - my favorite was the fried mozzarella and meatballs. Their homemade chips are the right combination of salty and crispy, too. Their pizzas are always good. We ordered the Mortazza, which comes with mortadella (an italian sausage, salty and thinly sliced) and in my opinion, there was a little too much meat on the pizza - mostly because the mortadella is salty. But, it was still really tasty. We also ordered the Corazziere pizza (which has wild mushrooms) and even those of us who aren't the biggest fans of mushrooms enjoyed it.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service excellent. We really enjoyed our meal here at the Shirlington location.

Yelp
Stellina is a low-key, casual, traditional Italian pizza joint. Don't expect a Michelin experience, but the pizza is definitely 5*. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the service is quick, and the food is fantastic. If you choose to dine-in, you can order and pay from your phone at your table. Too easy. Nice selection of beer, wine, pizza, and a lot more. Definitely check it out if you're jonesing for some tradition neapolitan pizza and such.

Yelp
I saw a sister location in Washington DC pop up on the 2023 bib gourmand so I decided to t try the shirlington location out. It's fast casual so the ambience is what your expect. Clean bathrooms for those that care. I really love Melanzane so I wanted to try that but I also wanted to try the pizza that got them in the bib gourmand list. The Melanzane was truly delicious. It's on the app list but it's a dinner portion with no sides of veggies or bread hence an appetizer. $17 so an expensive lunch. I also paid $17 for a pizza with wild mushrooms and I substituted the homemade sausage crumbles for the prosciutto. The pizza does not wow me. The crust was soggy for my toppings. I had to use a fork bc they fell off. It's thin crust which I like but the bottom was pretty dark while the rest of the dough was soggy like I mentioned: the crust though is delicious. Nice and tender and puffy. The mushrooms could have done with some more caramel using or something bc they were barely warmed. I'd come back for the Melanzane most likely but maybe, not the pizza. Unfortunately.

Yelp
This place is a great addition to the Shirlington group of restaurants. Slightly less formal than the other Italian place in town, I feel like it's a great place for a drink and a bite or a more sit-down dinner upstairs. Food: 4.5/5 I tried the Piccante pizza and the Brasato Di Manzo sandwiches, both of which I'd rate a 4.5. The size of the sandwich is quite massive and contrary to what I initially thought, the balance between the potato croquette and the short rib was quite nice, especially with the hot sauce that I asked for. The Piccante pizza is exactly how it's described with a hint of smokiness. I'd definitely be back to try a couple other things on the menu. Service 4/5 Service was solid and not rushed. Ambiance 4.5/5 - Quaint and cute upstairs. I think a happy hour of some ort to try out the local wines would also be great in their very festive interior upstairs.

Yelp
Real Italian pizzeria. Top quality toppings, great crust. I ordered the Arancini appetizer. You got two Arancini per order. They were great, the risotto was perfect and the meat was very tasty. I then went with the Amatriciana pizza, it had red onions, fresh mozzarella and Guanciale. The pizza was flavorful and had a nice crust which had a good chew and cooked well. You can order freshly prepared meals, or meal kits to cook at home. They even have a meal kit vending machine. I highly recommend all to give this place a try!! I gave it 4 stars only because the pizza wasn't cut, which I'm used to, pizza in Italy is eaten with a knife and fork. http://toasttab.com/stellina-pizzeria-shirlington

Yelp
Ordered dinner here tonight. Very easy and quick curbside delivery. Really liked the Amatriciana and Cotto & Funghi pizzas. The ingredients were very fresh and flavorful, and we really enjoyed the "burnt" crust. The center of each pie was a little too soft for me, but I think that's their style. Be prepared, the pizza does not arrive sliced. We also enjoyed the arancini appetizer and Bomboloni dessert, which came with Nutella dipping sauce.

Yelp
We stopped here for a quick dinner before seeing a movie at the AMC. We had not been in a while and we resolved to come more often. We sat outside on a beautiful fall evening and enjoyed the Halloween decor the restaurant artsy placed around the outdoor tables. We ordered a pizza and a panini and a couple of drinks. Everything came out very quickly. The pizza had the most amazing bubbly crust! We enjoyed our meal and we made it to our movie with plenty of time to spare!

Yelp
Amazing experience with takeout for Arlington restaurant week! Everything was absolutely delicious and well packaged. Reheated very nicely too (meatballs and pasta for 90 seconds at 50% power, pizzas on a preheated pan in a 400 convection oven). Loved the option to get some of the items frozen for later, we did this with 2 pizzas and look forward to pulling them out in a few weeks. We ordered for four and ate less than half of what was sent, 3 adults and a 12 year old. Highly recommend and want to go back and try the whole menu. Definitely will also be back every time they participate in restaurant week also.
