11 Affordable Restaurants in Napa and Sonoma Valley | Eater SF

"The herby focaccia that creates a lofty yet sturdy foundation for puffy sandwiches at Christian Caiazzo’s Petaluma restaurant makes a chicken cutlet or tomato burrata sandwich seem more than the sum of its seasonally appropriate parts. Though a sandwich makes a meal all on its own, 16-ounce bowls of vegetable minestrone or Italian sausage and bean soup scream not so much “girl dinner” as “family dinner.” Buy them together for $24, and with the change left in your pocket, sample one of the bakery’s many treats. Morning buns, cornettos and raspberry almond muffins lead off the menu at $5.50 while a thick slice of veggie frittata comes in at $8." - Christina Mueller

They had good veg options (Caprese, Greek spinach pie, etc). Unfortunately, we were told pizza wasn’t available until 4pm. Delicious pastries and a good Americano.

Anytime I'm in Petaluma, I have to make a stop at Stellina Pronto. It is such a cute, neighborhood bakery that serves beautiful and delicious pastries, salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. It's hard for me to get out of there without committing to a days worth of calories in one sitting, but somehow I manage... It's a tight fit, so you can expect to stand in line in a cramped space for a bit before ordering, but it gives you plenty of time to peruse their gorgeous creations and make up your mind before reaching the counter. I especially love the pistachio cream puff and can't say no to it whenever it's available. It has crunchy pistachio on top and an insane custardy filling that is unreal. They also have a variety of savory pastries that I try to kid myself and say I can eat in addition to my sweets because it's not sugary, but, yeah... My tastebuds are always happy no matter what!

Mama mia! Pastries are delicious! Come by and drink a coffee and a tart, you won’t be disappointed. All prices are decent for the area.

My friends and I stopped by this café while driving through and decided to get a coffee — we ordered a matcha and a nougat. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were overcharged by $7.14, and when I approached the barista, he supposedly rechecked the receipt, but the feeling of being overcharged still stayed. The matcha tasted watered down and not good at all, though the cappuccino was actually great. It’s really unpleasant to have this kind of experience in the heart of such a beautiful city. I hope the management pays more attention to the quality of drinks and honest service.

Google
Stellina Pronto is a slice of heaven! Offerings of delicious sweet and savory goodness. A variety from assorted pastries, cookies, cakes, frittata, sandwiches and more. Today I placed 5 orders to share with friends. Visited numerous times, the only downside I wish we had Stellina Pronto in Walnut Creek!

I don't live in the Bay Area anymore, but when I'm in the area in Petaluma I always make a stop at Stellina. Their baked goods are SO good and never disappoint. Their savory and sweet assortment of puffs are all great it's hard to choose. They have some premade salads you can pick up as well and little packaged Italian goodies that make for great gifts or pantry staples. I always love their focaccia. It's more of a pizza on focaccia and a perfect snack to share or meal on the go. The texture of the focaccia is so crispy on the outer edge and airy and chewy on the side. Pure perfection. The space is small inside and can get crowded but there's plenty of seating outside. The team is always welcoming and pleasant and super efficient. Plus for having Linea beans, my favorite coffee roasting co. Can't wait to return.

Google
I love this place but unfortunately I have some complaints. The food is yummy and great quality. There is a lot of flies touching the food. I’m not much bothered, but this is a sanitary issue. They need to get fly catchers and proper bug control. On top of that, they’re not the friendliest. I understand from working in food, but they’re so numb here. Never been asked how my day is going or gotten a smile. I really hope this place stops being so stuck up and try to be more friendly and welcoming. This is constructive criticism! Thank you

Yelp
THESE DELICIOUS, TASTY MORSELS ARE WORTH EVERY CARB-DRIPPING CALORIE. Feels like an old-world Italian bakery in Lucca but this spot opened up in 2019. There are some healthy choices, off to the side. Some delicious looking salads, however the tortas and pastries were calling my name and I obliged. Spanakopita torta and the ham+Gruyère were lovely. Quite delicious and the right size. Flavorful, not just pretty. Easily could've ordered alllll the sweet things. Savories too. Puffs and cookies and cakes with no shortage of interested consumers. Cold case offers drinks and such. Specialty mineral water was nice addition to wash the phyllo down. It's busy, but staff is quick and friendly. We scored a little table outside and people-watched. Let skinny culture die!!! Pronto!

Yelp
Five stars for their pastries and teas. Didn't love their focaccia pizza but everything else we had was terrific.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I got the Nectarine Puff and 10/10! It was delicious and was definitely worth the wait. The line probably took around 15 minutes to get through but the service was great. You definitely feel like you're in a small town patisserie!

Yelp
Heaven on Earth. We got the Easter half sweet half savory assortment to try everything. Every single item was a mouthwatering taste treat. Wonderful service. My favorites are the leek and bacon savory tarte and the sweet Veneziana brioche. But every single item is fresh, flakey and the finest ingredients. We will be coming back often, as my son and family just moved to Novato.

Yelp
Popular pastry ordered the raspberry cream puff and prosciutto with fig jam pastry. The raspberry cream puff was good and big! Although the cream inside tasted too sweet for my liking and yogurt-y The prosciutto was also good too! But there was a lot of fig jam in the middle and for me too much that didn't really pair well with the prosciutto There also weren't any utensils I believe.. wish there was some!

Yelp
We've all seen the sad, empty "Pizza" section on their menu board... well it's finally time! Pizzas are here, along with an adjustment to their business hours, which have them open until 8pm now. This review is for the pizza only. We were walking to our car and noticed that Stellina Pronto was open with quite the crowd. Upon further investigation, we discovered that they started their dinner pizza service so we lined up to get a pie. We tried the funghi, which was a whopping $30 for a 14", thin, Neapolitan-style pizza - ma dai! It would've been nice for the cashier to let us know approximately how long it would take for the pizza. I know the service is new and they're likely still working out some kinks, but we walked to a nearby wine shop, perused, and bought a bottle of wine, returning to Stellina to find out pizza still wasn't up about 20 minutes later. Be prepared to wait a bit. The oven can only accommodate so many pizzas. About the pie... it was nice and thin in the center, some charred spots on the crust, but very little leopard spotting on the underside. The underside also picked up a lot of burnt bits from previous pies so I'd recommend scraping the deck more often! The dough was honestly pretty mediocre - it lacked complexity of flavor that you'd normally see with a bulk ferment and was WAY overworked, leading to a very tough, chewy (not in a good way) crust. The pizza also had a layer of oil soaking through the entire crust to the bottom - I'm not sure what that's from, possibly from one of the cheeses breaking? The oyster mushrooms were a bit dry and chewy. Overall, I think the pizza was okay. Is it the best in the North Bay - absolutely not. It's not even the best in downtown Petaluma (Central Market makes the best pie IMHO and it's cheaper too). As I said, I'm sure they're working out some kinks so we'll be sure to try the pizza again in the near future. Excited to have another option in downtown, but wish the quality was on par with the pastries, especially given the price.

Yelp
Stellina Pronto cannot stop winning my heart. I'm already devoted to their sweet and savory pastry selection and best coffee in town. Best sandwiches at Stellina Alimentare. And now they're serving the best pizza in the North Bay, some of the best wood-fired pizza anywhere. The style is familiar but distinct. New Haven smoke and char, Neapolitan format, Berkeley ingredients and seasonality. A little bit Cheeseboard, a little bit Pepe's. At least that's what I got from the Gianni -- sliced Yukon gold potatoes, nettles, fontina. I have my eye on the New Haven white clam pie for my next try. Crust - chewy, crackly, seriously smoky, a light sour tang, light and bubbly . Toppings - the potatoes roasted perfectly onto the pie and tasted deeply like themselves. Peppery green sautéed nettles, and a light touch with the cheese. Would not have minded a little more garlic. Scene - orders were coming in fast when I visited, and chef was head-down cranking out beautiful charry pies at a good clip. Poppy punk playlist (the Buzzcocks kind). A lively and lovely place to spend 15 minutes. waiting for a pizza you will almost certainly start eating on a the way home. I look forward to eating through the rest of the menu. I know I sound like an ad. But go try, see if I'm wrong.

Yelp
If you relish decision anxiety, this is a place to come to he he! Like it's really hard to choose what to get, but everything is so good looking you're also pretty sure that you'll love anything that you choose. The staff is super friendly and accommodating for all my questions! Simple no-frills shop with savory, sweets and salads...

Yelp
Every time I've gone by this particular coffee shop/bakery there's a line wrapped out around the corner. This particular day there was only a line halfway out the door, so I figured I may as well go before the crowd gets big! Boy did I get in at the perfect time! Right after I got in side, at least 10 other people lined up behind me! it took me about 15 minutes to get through the line, but everybody was working very fast and extremely friendly and apologetic for the weight which was perfectly fine with me because they had so many pastries to choose from. I couldn't figure out what I wanted anyway! Lol all their pastries are around between $8-6/piece. The cookies are four dollars, and their sandwiches are around $16-$20. Perfectly fine considering how the economy is and everything is baked daily and the sandwiches are made to order! I got the chicken cutlet sandwich without red onions, and oh my goodness, it was freaking delicious! It was made on this pita type bread that was very light and decadent, and not too heavy. Sometimes bread is so delicious and thick. It fills me up on the bread itself instead of, whatever is inside the sandwich. Not the case here!! I was so stuffed from eating half the sandwich. I saved the other half because I wanted to eat a pastry also. Lol. I ordered a Raspberry Sweet Puff, Pineapple Sweet Puff, marbel loaf/slice and Nutella Cornetto and a mushroom-goat cheese puff. Yummmm. I ate the pineapple sweet puff after my sandwich and oh my goodness the cream danish filling was the most lightest decadent cream cheese. Filling I've ever had!! It did not have that thick creamy texture that most danishes have. I'm not too sure how they make it, but it had the best vanilla bean flavor, and it went perfectly with , the pineapple coconut and the croissant aspect was so crispy and light and fluffy. It was like biting into a pillow but edible! Lol I wish I bought one of every pastry there. Oh my goodness but I spent about $70 with tip and I'm so excited to try everything! I saw online people had a Matcha latte, and I noticed they had some other specialty/local drinks that were not on their menu. If there wasn't a huge line behind me, I would've asked the barista what their other menu/drink items were, but I didn't want to hold up the line so I just got the Matcha latte with almond milk and that was , a basic Matcha latte. Everything was delicious and I was lucky to grab a seat inside since outside it was freezing, but all the tables were full! As I sat for about an hour, doing some work, the line never died down, but everybody was pleasant, and seem to be polite as they waited in line and crowded around one another. Lol I cannot believe how many baristas were working so quickly within the café itself! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Loved stopping in here for brunch treats. Showed up around 9, line was out the door (for good reason) but it moved super quick! Even with the line, I never felt rushed as I pondered my order and asked questions. My chai was spicy and lively without being overly sweet. The baked goods were beyond delicious! Flaky crusts, quality ingredients, and beautiful to look at! What a Petaluma gem!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is DIVINE. And everyone knows it. Not a hidden gem, be prepared to wait 15 minutes in line on the weekends. But those 15 minutes go by quickly, and the service is fast and friendly once you get to the register. Oh my gosh what delicious pastries, loaves, and cookies!!!! The focaccia is out of this world. Wish I could try it all. Delicious!!!
google avatar

Patrick O.

Yelp
All pros: 1. A ton of options. Sweet. Savory. You name it. Obscure, traditional. 2. Just enough room to snag a seat inside if you're lucky on a weekday. 3. Plenty of outdoor seating if desired or weather permits. 4. Quick service. 5. A mix of price points, some very spendy pastries at $9, but also many options in the $3-4 range, too, just know you have to pass on the ones that are larger or that have more ingredients. 6. I haven't tried the coffee but they have many coffee options. 7. Trendy and pricey retail pantry cooking supplies, and a refrigerator with Italian bitters and sodas. I'll be back ASAP.

Yelp
Yikes this was amazing! Wish I could eat more than one at a time. This time I had a Corned Beef Hash, Egg and Cheese pastry that was to die for! Took it home and warmed it in a pan on a slow heat - yum, yum YUM! I had just had some coffee so no drink for me but I bet they do a great job. Back soon.

Angie C.

Yelp
Great pastries! We really enjoyed the blueberry with lemon curd. We also tried the Nutella one and the focaccia pizza. All were very delicious. I would come again and will recommend it to others. There was a bit of a line, but they served us very quickly. Very limited outdoor seating, so be prepared to stand or wait for a table.

Yelp
The owner is rude. I was in line with my dog, because Acre down the street allows them. Waited in line for 20 minutes after asking one of the employees if I could have a dog in line and she said yes and right as I order and was about to pay the owner abruptly says you need to go outside right now and have someone hold your dog. And I said I just have to pay and I will leave. Luckily she has a mature young woman working for her who calmly explained that I just needed to tap my phone and I could leave. The owner is a hothead and I saw her chastising her after I left. Dear owner, educate your employees without using negativity or abuse.

Yelp
Wow, i tried this Pizza yesterday and it was the best pizza I've had by far in sonoma county if not Northern California altogether. Everything about this slice was amazing from the cheese perfectly salty and nutty to the sausage that would even be delicious just on its own. Oh and the cruise? Wow. Just wow.

Yelp
I am so angry that I found this place. The people are nice and the pasties are amazing. I'm angry because I am trying to eat less pastries and Stellina Pronto is making that more difficult. Maybe even impossible. But if you are looking for a great pastry spot in the area or good sandwich - this is your spot.
google avatar

Fenasi K.

Yelp
Yes... one of each, please! Everything is delicious here. It's good I don't live close by. Otherwise, my belly would double in size.

N M.

Yelp
Fresh and tasty treats! I made the mistake of asking for mushroom pastry instead of mushroom puff, so I was given some other mushroom pie/pastry item. Since it was partially my fault we ate it anyway, delicious but was really looking forward to the puff, so will just have to give it another go when I'm in the area. For feedback, maybe if you have 2 similar items in the case, name both items for the customer for clarity since "mushroom pastry" wasn't quite the name of the other item. I think my recipe says mushroom torte. For sweet pastry we tried the passion fruit kouign amann and a walnut orange roll. Both great flavor although both a little too sweet for my taste. I'm just not a big sweet tooth anymore. I'd still be back but at least I know the sweetness level and pair with a nice coffee to cut the sweet. It was hopping with a steady line of customers so it must be good. I'd agree, pastry was great... savory and sweet, but just be known that it may be on the sweeter side.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Looking for an indulgent treat? Go to Stellina Pronto. Prepare to have a hard time choosing because the case of pastries, focaccia, desserts and salads makes it so difficult to pick just one thing. The line can be long and there are only a couple seats inside so it can get crowded very quickly. I tried the lemon curd pastry and my partner had the almond croissant, Both were flaky, buttery, and perfectly sweet. I really wanted to try the pizza focaccia but I'll have to try it the next time I'm in town. I recommend getting a bunch of items and sharing with friends and family!

Yelp
This gem of a cafe is a descendant of Stella Osteria in Point Reyes which explains a lot. Great traditional and inventive pastry, good coffee, friendly staff, lovely salads in the pick and go section. Very small interior with window seating on stools and outdoor cafe tables. Eventually they will fire up that pizza oven? Ye? I am sure they will. In the meantime, try some focaccia and some pistachio cake.

Christie D.

Yelp
AITA? I usually work in the neighborhood on Tuesdays and can't go because that is their closed day so I make a point to go into their other location for my lunch - I love supporting local families in business. My co workers prefer the other bakery in town but I adore Stellinas and I always stood by that. We get a ton of out of town customers and I always send them to Stellinas. The food is really yummy. I was working on a Sunday and my entire focus for the day was going to Stellinas to get lunch and pastries to bring home. I ordered my salad and something happened and the cashier left the station and someone else jumped on. I was waiting to order my pastries and a customer stepped up and ordered - ok thats cool - but when the third person started their order I spoke up for myself. You would have thought I screamed at them - I simply asked if I could finish my transaction. The service worker treated me so disrespectfully and 75$ later I walked out wanting to cry. I understand high prices and I understand that customer service is dead - but am I the asshole for speaking up for myself and wanting to simply make my purchase after waiting in line? I even apologized as I could see they were upset. I am a nice person and there is no reason to be treated terribly for wanting to be served in order and with grace. I gave the food to an unhoused person and thats the end of that obsession. I deserve an apology. Good food and lines are great but that isn't grounds for treating customers with disrespect. ps. The Christmas lasagna meal was super salty and no one could eat it leaving us without dinner. Should have broken up with you then.
google avatar

Emy C.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots. The quiches are always amazing, i crave the breakfast puff, the coffee js good, and the sweets are always different and amazing. I keep coming back to grab my go to puff and try a new sweet treat. This place is almost always buzzing, but especially on the weekends. Be prepared for a long line unless you come early then it's just a regular line. Not much space inside but they are so quick you won't be waiting long once you order. A few outside. Public parking.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
My favorite go-to on the weekends. I love their Focaccia, and I have a hard time picking out a pastry because they are all amazing!
google avatar

Butch B.

Yelp
Best Breakfast pastry's I've ever had. The chocolate chip cookies the best, so buttery good. Maple pecan scones .POW!!!!
google avatar

Cecilia H.

Yelp
3 stars because the quality of the items I ordered were not good today. The double chocolate cookie was so chewy I can't even eat it. The piadine had a pita type bread that was so oily and soft it ruined the sandwich. The bread that came with my soup was also terribly oily and bad texture. I couldn't consume it. So disappointed because this place isn't cheap!
google avatar

Shellagh C.

Yelp
Excellent baked goods & exceptional service! A well curated offering of (the trendy) tinned fish & assorted imported food gift items as well. All beautifully packaged. Everything there is delicious! I love the pistachio cake!
google avatar

Matthew L.

Yelp
Very small cute bakery nestled in downtown Petaluma with very nice looking croissant based pastries. Staff is friendly and helpful when selecting some goodies to eat. Since we just ate lunch, we just got two items. Takes only seconds from purchase to being handed your order. Unfortunately, we ate the pastries hours after purchase instead of right away when it was fresh. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The filling was not overly sweet and had a good intensity of fruit flavor.
google avatar

Bill D.

Yelp
I stopped by Stellina Pronto the other day to get some pastries and I am SO glad I did. First off, the Cafe is very bright and airy with large glass cases showing off the amazing baked goods. If you look closely, theres a neat tiled oven in the back. The cheery staff was very engaged with the steady stream of customers, including pulling pre-orders for them. I ordered a few different Puffs from the case, a savory one, a lemon one, and a blueberry one, plus a blueberry crumb muffin. They were all amazing when we shared them. I'll look forward to coming back the next time we're in Petaluma. A true gem! I'm
google avatar

Sierra S.

Yelp
love the soup at Stellina, however they recently downsized the side bread that comes with the soup? It used to be x4 the size, like a literal honking piece of bread that you could eat the whole soup with and this size just doesn't feel ok. Especially when you charge this much for soup, feels like the wrong thing to cheap out on but the quality is still good love their pastries too
google avatar

Jeanette S.

Yelp
Loved the Nutella pastry. It has tons of fresh Nutella drizzled on top, inside is packed with Nutella, and not too sweet. Normally when I order Nutella or hazelnut based pastries they can get overly sweet, but I really enjoyed this one. They use coffee beans from Linea, which I have tried before in San Francisco / Mission district as well.
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
Yummy savory pastries! Looking forward to visiting again and trying other treats. I'm still thinking about the wonderful bacon, cheddar and scallion scone!
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Wow! I was so exited and did not disappoint! I start to eat with my eyes, and they intrigued. The way they display it is just beautiful. Then, as soon as you think they may be out of something, you see all the bakers in the back bringing more goodies up to refill the beautiful display. They have some GF friendly goodies. All was delish will be definitely back for more, to try what didn't fit in my tummy on this day! Sweet and savory goodies. The mocha was just right, not too sweet. The space inside is small, but plenty of room outside and some benches. Plan that if the line is out the door, you may have to sit outside.
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
A great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We had a big group so we tried some focaccia, a sausage roll, a corned beef hash thing, and a number of sweets. Everything was quite tasty and I think the focaccia was my favorite. I hadn't even planned on getting it but they brought it out when I was in line and it called to me.
google avatar

Sel C.

Yelp
Amazing baked treats and Italian non-alcoholic beverages. A great trendy place you do not want to miss when visiting this lovely town of Petaluma. Get there super early in the morning or an hour before closing to avoid the crowds and long line.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Amazing! I went here on the recommendation of friends who know the owners. I drove down from Santa Rosa to check this place out. Why didn't I do it sooner?!? (Because I convinced myself there wouldn't be parking?--there was. Because I'm lazy (I can be) Because I told myself I "didn't need it???" I DO I DO I DO!!!) I opted for a lemon glaze cornbread cookie, but it was quite a difficult choice to make. I will definitely be back, sooner rather than later... And it's a good thing this place isn't in my backyard or I'd be sizing up my clothes for sure.
google avatar

Masha G.

Yelp
My friend and I came up to Petaluma for the day and we love us some yummy food and coffee, and this place popped up, and quite honestly, I can't wait to come back! Every single pastry looked delicious, so I decided to get a few things to enjoy right then for breakfast, and then for snacks throughout the day. -Breakfast puff with bacon and egg - the only thing that could have made this better would have been if the egg was oozy - but that's obviously not an option or possible when baking. The flakiness was perfection! -Meringue cookie - so good! It was the perfect level of crunch and softness -Hazelnut chocolate chip cookie - this was delicious! Love the addition of hazelnuts! -Italian cookies - such a simple thing, but so good! I also had a latte with almond milk, which was delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more things!
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
Get there early, fills up quick! Outstanding baked goods at a great price. Coffee leaves a lot to be desired but overall great place for a cute stop on your way into town
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in this morning while passing thru town. Outside bistro tables full which was nice to see on a Monday morning. Beautiful display of tempting treats. Generous sized pastries and the quiche slices huge! We shared the savory puffed pastry - ricotta, grilled onions and applewood bacon. Absolutely delicious!!! Pastry light, buttery and slightly crispy flakes, must have! For sweet, we picked the raspberry almond bar. Shortbread base, perfect balance of raspberry filling and crumble with toasted almonds on top. Another solid choice. Lastly for "different" we had a cornmeal lemon cookie with lemon glaze. Hubby liked it, I thought it was alright. Friendly service, latte was good as well but that savory pastry stole the show!
google avatar

Hannah B.

Yelp
I hate so many things about this place, but I go there anyway because the pastry is unbelievable. It's fussy, it's designed so you're always in everyone's way and everyone has to stand, there's not an efficient system for getting orders out, everything is really overpriced. But my sweet lord, that bear claw. That almond croissant. That perfect latte. And most of the time the servers are polite.
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
The selection and quality of the pastries here make it worth the 60 mile bike ride here, no joke. They have an incredible selection of sweet and savory pastries, we're talking over 20 types of treats, all made in house and incredibly decadent. The pastries here are less buttery than French pastries and lean more sweet. I tried the passion fruit kouign aman, the raspberry sweet puff, pumpkin tartlet, and poached pear almond croissant. Everything was incredible, the vanilla custard in the sweet puff really blew me away. Pastries here range from $5-7 but they are quite large and absolutely worth the price. If you are even in a 50 mile radius of this place, it's a must visit.

Yelp
Wrap your lips around quality. This wonderful breakfast/lunch-to-go place prepares breakfast and lunch foods that use only the freshest, organically harvested, and delicious ingredients in their products and their foods. The egg ham and cheese puff is exquisite with plenty of ham egg and cheese to fill you up in one sitting. Their sweet brioche bun is filled with an exquisite mascarpone cream that is not too sweet and not too sticky - - in a word it is excellent! I tried their hibiscus tea which is literally made from fresh hibiscus leaves and stems--very, very good. Their coffee is straight up Italian and excellent according to coffee drinking patrons. They also carry a line of high-quality seafood products from Scout, Maris, and Jose Gourmet Conservas--all businesses committed to sustainably harvested seafood. Hungry for lunch but short on time? Pop in here to grab a bottle of mineral water or any one of a variety of canned bevs, along with a fresh organic, salad-to-go. Pizza will be offered sometime in the summer. Stellina Pronto has become my new favorite breakfast grab and go!
google avatar

Amadeo D.

Yelp
Incredible Italian pastries and coffee in a casual setting with friendly service. Easily one of the best bakeries in Petaluma. The morning buns are a favorite in our house, as are the cornettos. Try a savory breakfast pastry stiffed with ricotta, bacon and leeks, or a sweet option with fruit and custard. Pair either one with a strong coffee and you've got an outstanding start to your day.
google avatar

Brady H.

Yelp
Bravo to the owners of this new hot kid on the block. Petaluma's downtown just got a LOT better thanks to this jewel. I've tried the savory breakfast puffs, focaccia sandwiches, salads and some other desserts and they were all 5 stars. The only downside is the price but it's worth every dollar and I'm to blame because I can never buy just one thing!
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
The lemon ricotta pastry is delicious. I haven't tried the coffee yet, but I've heard it's great. I wanted to try the tiramisu, but they only had a full platter for sale.

Yelp
This is a 5 star cafe with outstanding pastries. My first time here was wonderful, with who I presume to be the owner present and friendly. The lemon focaccia bread is the size of my head and SO delicious. The coffee is what you'd expect from an independent café- strong and high quality. We took another trip to Petaluma from Walnut Creek last weekend just for the bread! CON'S: I would knock a star for our latest experience this past Sunday- where the cashier questioned the integrity of our query of a mistaken order- but it's not the café's fault and everyone has off moments. I am not one to freak out over a wrong order, so when my husband received a cold croissant instead of the "fresh out of the oven Nutella cornetto" he ordered, we weren't irritated. They get busy, and he ordered by saying "I'll take one too" right after my sister ordered it, so it could have been misheard with his English accent plus the phrasing. No big deal, anything would probably have been delicious anyway! When my cousin sweetly insisted on asking to amend the order on my husband's behalf, the girl at the register responded by asking: "WHO is your friend?" After he was pointed at, she took back the pastry that had already been taken out of the bag and touched with our bare hands (wouldn't it end up being thrown away anyway?) and charged an extra $1.30 for the one he originally ordered- but then said they ran out of them? Anyway, this is literally a tiny interaction and we left with delicious pastries in our bellies so I can't complain! Overall, wonderful little spot with special pastries, sandwiches and great coffee- will still come back with total enthusiasm because it lives up to my Hallmark movie-esque bakery dreams!

Yelp
Stellina has grown nicely and maintained the food quality if not improved it. This really is a special place. If I could give any advice because there is always something at least from the picky customer base...it would be to maintain an upbeat and happy vibe from the team members. This is a happy place to be! It does feel some of the employees are robotic and bringing a ho-hum attitude to work. The tips will be more than adequate...accept the no tip and the 20% tip the same way with a smile and a "thank you". Always thank your customer, never ever a "no problem" or even a "your welcome", show your appreciation to everyone for being a supporter of Stellina's business and directly or indirectly paying your wage.

Yelp
Staff was friendly pastries were delicious chai tea was amazing! I never even knew they were here my daughter introduced me to this place can't wait to go back. If I had any criticism it would be wish they had a little more seating inside and more tables outside to handle all their wonderful customers (lol I'm one of them now)

Yelp
How cute is a place gonna be? The staff is kind but there's a lady there, late 30s early 40s who is consistently wonderful. Her energy rocks. Calm, joyful, warm. So far I've had the apple pie, cinnamon cake, and a flourless chocolate cake. All yummy. The focaccia looks amazing, I'll have to try it next. Locals always mention this place and I can definitely see why.
