"Brunch at Stepney’s will make you feel like Snow White singing to a gaggle of forest animals. The cafe is part of Stepney City Farm and your rhubarb-topped french toast should absolutely be followed by a trip to meet George and Dunstan, the fluffy donkeys. We swear by the wholesome, healing powers of eating a hulking focaccia BLT in the treehouse-adjacent mini gazebo. Covered areas make this spot a good rainproof brunch plan, too." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"Brunch at Stepney’s will make you feel like Snow White singing to a fluffy collection of forest creatures. At the cafe, part of Stepney City Farm, the food is delicious, so is the look of pure relaxation on parents’ faces as they sip coffee while their children meet Mars, the resident boar. A covered area and a treehouse-adjacent gazebo make it an ideal spot even on a drizzly day." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The cafe, part of Stepney City Farm, is a leafy oasis that draws nature-starved families for french toast and wondrous encounters with George and Dunstan, the fluffy donkeys. "Brunch at Stepney’s will make you feel like Snow White singing to a fluffy collection of forest creatures. The cafe, part of Stepney City Farm, draws nature-starved Londoners with the promise of doorstop focaccia BLTs and french toast. The food is delicious, so is the look of pure relaxation on parents’ faces as they sip coffee while their children meet Mars, the resident boar. Most of the seats are outside, but the covered area towards the back and wooden treehouse-adjacent gazebo make it an ideal spot even on a drizzly day. We like Saturdays best, when children crash about in puddles and the menu is slightly extended to include some extra bakes—the lamb sausage roll is a masterclass in pastry-wrapped meat—and the fresh produce market is on. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute Food Rundown Foccacia BLT A focaccia BLT has the potential to be a nap-inducing first meal. But the bread is light and airy, there’s a sensible smear of mayo, and fresh, crisp lettuce. It’s tasty and balanced. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch French Toast Our favourite dish to get here and probably the prettiest too. The french toast toppings change often, and we've had it with rhubarb and also a blueberry compote. It’s heavy on egg, but we like that. You can get bacon as an add-on and we’d really recommend it. The salty, fattiness brings everything together. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Lamb Sausage Roll With Spices And Apricot And Harissa Yoghurt Roll or log? We like to think the staff at Stepney’s considered rebranding the humble sausage roll because theirs is so mighty. It’s packed full of flavoursome, soft lamb. The pastry is crisp and not at all greasy, and getting a dip with your sausage roll is always a welcome upgrade. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Dark Chocolate And Sesame Cookie A serious cookie, with lots of flaky salt and dark rich chocolate. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna
