We came here with a large group with my cousins upon the recommendation of a local shopkeeper. The place is very cute and not huge, and the decor is fun, with colorful lanterns and a beautiful painted wall. Their service is very good. They were friendly and filled our water attentively, and it was a bit humid, so they kept the door closed and kept the AC in the space. The food was fantastic! I really loved my dish, the salmon fried rice. It had large chunks of fried salmon. The papaya salad was delicious too, not too spicy and so flavorful. The Singapore noodles were delicious, but not what I was expecting. This is an egg noodle like fettuccine with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It tasted great, and I'd probably order it again, but just FYI it isn't a curry dish with Angel hair noodles! The curry fries were yummy but I'd probably not order it again, I would prefer to keep the curry sauce separate for dipping. Overall, 5 stars!

An unassuming little noodle bar. Great classic cocktails with an Asian twist. The food all slaps, upbeat music and super nice staff. Really chill place for a drink and a snack.

tw// demolished food MY GOOOOODDDDD THE KHAO SOI 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤she was so divine, a blessing, i savored every noodle and every taste... they used some type of noodles that reminded me of the buldak noodles but ngl that made it 10x better for me because i lovvveeee buldak!! i thought it was gonna be spicy but it was the perfect amount of spice... and also they put raw onions in there which i also loveeeeeeee it perfectly offset the rich curry !! some ppl dont like raw onions but thats their opinion so please dont ever remove them 😍😍🥵🥵❤️❤️❤️ as you can see i massacred this khao soi to oblivion so i think that indicates that i liked it 😵😵😵🤠🤠🥵😖😫😫🤯🤯🤯

Walking around Orchard street I thought of going to Katz’s deli on Houston. But there was at least an hour wait — for a frigging sandwich. New York is simply overrun with tourists. Anyway, I walked back down Orchard getting hungrier by the second. I don’t know why I chose Sticky Rice, but I’m glad I did. Delicious Red Curry, cold beer, friendly service, good vibe. No tourists (except me — though I used to live here). What’s not to like?

We were expecting a lot based on the reviews, but honestly, it was pretty underwhelming. We ordered the pineapple fried rice, and the server asked if we wanted chicken, shrimp, or beef. Thought it was just a choice, but turns out shrimp was an extra $4, which wasn’t mentioned. Also, there was like one tiny piece of pineapple in the whole dish. The mango sticky rice was alright, but nothing special—we could’ve made it ourselves. The banana rolls were just meh. The vibe was off too. They were decorating while we were there, so it was messy, and even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, the server didn’t really care. She barely paid attention to us and was busy talking to another staff member. Overall, the food was just okay. Not bad but nothing special. Definitely wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Really cute restaurant, came during the week for lunch and it was pretty empty and service was very quick. We were craving some Thai curry and came here to check it out. My panang curry was delicious and very authentic. My husband ordered the green curry and it was unimpressed. It was good but nothing like the green curries we had in Thailand (and we had MANY green curries while we were there) so I’m giving it a 4🌟

My brother has been telling me this place for a while. So I decided to go with him and the food is definitely great, fresh and not pre-made. The atmosphere is nice, and so is the music. Definitely coming back.

My colleagues had a gathering here. They reserved a long table for us - a party of 12. I had their iced coffee. They used robust coffee with sweet cream. It was strong. For food, I ordered their salmon and shrimp with green curry. Their green curry is actually spicy and I like that. The rice is a mixed with purple and regular rice. Towards the end, they gave us sticky rice with mangos on the house. It’s a personal preference but I personally think their food and drinks are a bit sweet. Everyone had a wonderful time.

I love sticky rice! The food and drinks are always consistent. I typically order the wings and fries but I hold off on the fires and get more wings. They are that good! You will find typical Thai meals here. Very tasty and full of flavor. The ambiance is great in here although in the winter time it tends to be freezing! They have a big heater that doesn't do much when it's cold so definitely try not to sit by the window. The drinks are great. My favorite is the coconut mojito. They have always been consistent each time I've come and I've been there quite a few times. Service is a 4/5. When they get busy it can be hard to flag your waiter down so this is something I think they should work on in terms of being properly staffed on busy nights. Cute spot overall if you like Thai food and are in the area I definitely recommend coming here!

Like this place and the decor is cute. Service has always been nice. Their papaya salad and pork belly pad Thai is so good. I think it's expensive considering the portion, but I still think it's delicious!

Decent food, good service, but expensive for portion sizes - 3.5 overall I came here with 2 friends on a Tuesday night at 6pm and were seated immediately. We ordered the green curry with tofu, chicken dinner combo, and drunken noodles, with a side of roti. The roti was great, crispy and flaky for $3.5. The other dishes all tasted pretty good, the curry wasn't too sweet, the drunken noodles had a tang, and all were a good spice level. But the portions just felt small for an $18 entree and my two friends were still a bit hungry after finishing.

We live in the area and have easily passed by this spot hundreds of time, each time saying we should try it soon. Well we finally did. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy We were promptly seated even with a reservation. The restaurant itself was a bit dark but worked with their vibe. The papaya salad we ordered was very limey but enjoyable. The fries and wings were delicious. They batter the fries! For our entrees, we got the drunk man noodle and the spicy fried rice with pork belly. We also added a fried egg. The drunk man noodles were delicious and exactly as you'd expect it to taste. The fried rice however, felt a bit on your dry side. The pork belly was definitely dry. They no longer have the duck. Overall this spot is decent. We'd come again.

Nicer than I expected inside, but can still be casual. Good for lunch. The dumplings were a great app. Pretty average nothin crazy exciting but delicious nonetheless. The pad Thai was sweet Ns as you would expect, not as oily as other places and yummy. There was a good portion of chicken and noodles.

The food was okay. I had pad Thai with chicken. I tried some Thai tea and it tasted a little off. Overall, the place was fine, but not amazing.

Came late to meet up with friend who finished dinner before I arrived. Ambience was intimate and the restaurant was packed! service was good nevertheless. Though I didn't dine today I've had their Grilled Pork Back Slabs, Boneless Thai fried chicken, and the Spicy Drunken Basil Noodles. When I had it was definitely good! I asked the sever Derek to make the noodles extra spicy and boyyy did they hit the spot.

Great thai restaurant for a quick brunch on the weekend. The restaurant was not too crowded on a weekend morning which was nice. The restaurant was beautiful on the inside and I loved the decor and booth style seating. We ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer and the chicken was suprisingly flavorful and juicy. We also ordered the pad thai lunch with spring rolls. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and tasty. The pad thai was great! I ordered the curry and it was just ok. The potatoes seemed a bit out of place but I liked that it came with a purple rice, great touch. We also ordered the thai tea and the thai iced coffee, both a little too sweet for our taste but still yummy. The service was quick and on top of everything - my water glass was always full and I think he was the only server at the time kudos to him!

Almost disappointed in myself for not getting sticky rice dessert for a place that's called Sticky Rice, but luckily it was a great location for a birthday dinner ! Appetizer-wise, was a huge fan of their fries -- they were coated in a thin layer of sugar that made the fried potatoes have a hint of sweetness, which worked well. The dip that it comes with also was a hit. Not a fan of the calamari though --batter was way too salty which overwhelmed the rest of the squid. I got the drunken basil noodles which ended up tasting very similar to pad see ew, probably my fault since I got the mild spicy version compared to how it's typically served.

I have been going here for years. Always a vibe! Amazing spicy food and yummy cocktails Highly recommend!

Truly a 5/5. Best pad thai I've had in my life and our server was lovely. The lunch combo was phenomenal (got pad thai and that Thai dumplings. Friend got the veggie dumplings ) both phenomenal. Calamari appetizer and coconut soup were a highlight as well. Relatively cheap in our current inflation climate! $15 for the combo alone. Cozy ambiance, lovely for a date and group outting. Cannot recommend this place enough

Cute Thai restaurant in the LES. Staff is really fun and friendly. I ordered the pad Thai with pork belly which was really tasty. Portions are a good size and the price is good. They also have lunch and dinner specials :) The menu has a lot of options and the drinks are also good. I love pork belly so I came back just for a plate of that and it was really crispy. It came with a side of sauce, but it stands alone without the sauce as well.

I can see Sticky Rice as a fun place to gather with friends, have some drinks, good food and great conversation. I came here for takeout and, owing to a misunderstanding of my order, I was charged for the 18 piece wing order and given the appetizer wing order to go, along with their pineapple shrimp fried rice and appetizer pork chops with their chili sauce. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon, when it was relatively quiet at Sticky Rice. I was treated most politely by everyone, including the person behind the bar who took my order. He offered a glass of water while I waited. I specified I wanted the 18 piece wings extra crispy along with the fries and agreed the appetizer sized pork chops would be sufficient with the pineapple and shrimp fried rice. I was disappointed to discover they only gave me the small appetizer sized wings of about six pieces. However, they were extra crispy and the chili sauce worked its magic with the wings. The chili and red pepper flake sauce accompanying barbecue dishes at Sticky Rice is addictive and I was just beginning to discover. If you have the wings without the chili sauce, you are doing yourself a disservice. When I had the pork chops, three mini pork chops pieces in the appetizer size, I learned the chili sauce was absolutely indispensable to wake up the palate for the pork, which is good on its own, but goes to another level with that chili sauce. You would do yourself the greatest disservice not to accompany the pork with the sauce. The sauce becomes an addictive sweet and spicy combo that will have you dunking everything in the ramekins, yes, fries included. The fried rice will also wake up if you have a very good soy sauce or other condiments at home. The pineapple shrimp fried rice has a fair number of shrimp, along with cashew nuts and onions to be satisfying. Otherwise, the star of the show here is surprisingly the chili and red pepper flake sauce that surely carries a whole lot more on the menu at Sticky Rice. Sticky Rice seems reasonably priced and my only gripe is the apparent miscue where I was overcharged for what I got. However, the people here were hospitable and I expect it was an error that can happen. Sticky Rice seems a reliable place for locals and friends to gather and enjoy a fun night together. The layout is efficient and makes the best use of space without feeling crowded. The tables lend themselves well to groups of six or eight if you have that many in your party. Sticky Rice is a solid three stars and looks like a fun place at a reasonable value.

This Thai restaurant has been in my Bookmarks for awhile, so I was glad I finally had the chance to dine here for dinner with a friend. It was a super hot day, and there was no AC inside the restaurant. On top of that, the seating inside was pretty full and kind of cramped, so we sat at the bar, which wasn't the most comfortable spot. My friend and I shared the Fried Calamari and Yin-Yang Garlic Fries. The Calamari came with an addicting, creamy spicy mayo sauce. I enjoyed how crunchy and light the calamari was. The fries appetizer consisted of both regular potato, as well as sweet potato fries. The fries were quite salty and not very garlicky. They were, however, nicely crispy. For my entree, I was torn between the Salmon Supreme and Shrimp, or Dirty Duck Fried Rice. I finally decided on the Salmon Supreme and Shrimp. I also ordered a side of sticky rice, which had a small surcharge. I mean, how can you NOT have sticky rice, considering the name of the restaurant? I wasn't sure whether to go with the green or red sauce to accompany the salmon, so since the waitress mentioned the green sauce is on the spicy side, I selected the red sauce. This had a coconut base, and was layered with a lovely complexity of flavors. There were also several veggies in the dish, including green beans, tomato, bamboo, which were all perfectly cooked. The Salmon was wonderfully tender, delightfully flaky, well seasoned, and slightly crisp. There were a decent number of shrimp, which were large in size, juicy and succulent. The sticky rice was satisfyingly chewy with just the right texture and consistency. There was also a lovely, subtle sweetness to it. I was also able to try a little of the Dirty Duck Fried Rice, which consisted of green curry paste, mixed vegetable, along with an egg on top. I enjoyed this, and there was only a slight kick to it. The duck was meaty and flavorful. All the ingredients worked well together. I particularly liked the addition of the egg. Service was pretty good. The person taking our order behind the bar was polite and was knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were also fairly reasonable. Most starters were under $12, while entrees were generally under $20. I'm not sure I would return, because there wasn't much else on the menu I wanted to try.

We came in at 6:30pm on a cold Friday night and the place was half full. By 7:30pm, not a single table was available, so plan accordingly and arrive before peak meal times. The space is small, not good for parties larger than 6. The reassuring Seats maybe 25 people at a time, max. Two tiny tables for two are available outdoors (no heating). Casual ambiance, modern music playing in the background. Suitable for a quick bite with friends. Relaxing and chill. Staff were efficient and courteous. The food was disappointing. Fried Calamari with Spicy Mayo appetizer was tiny for $13. Calamari were delicate, the batter fell right off. The $12 chicken & shrimp steamed dumplings (4 pieces) were completely bland if you do not count the red chilly powder sprinkled on top, to give them a much needed boost. How sad. Do not recommend. $16 chicken pad Thai had a watered down sauce and tasted not like your typical pad Thai. At least the portion size was filling. $16 chicken drunken noodles was inedible--the sauce was completely wrong and tasted like cough syrup. The staff were nice enough to bring me another dish, free of charge. Forgettable experience, you can find better in the area.

Our 4th time her and still no disappointment in the food and drinks! Small menu but very good fresh cooked food! Drinks also no disappointment! See you soon!

Good Thai place, with a nice ambience, but i have certainly had better thai food just blocks away. the pad thai was just ok. i did really enjoy the green curry with shrimp which was nice and spicy, but the shrimp seemed a bit small.

I stopped in to get a Thai ice tea and got a cup overflowing with ice. After 3 sips the drink was essentially gone. I complained and the staff told me I I was drinking too fast. I asked for a refill and they declined getting loud saying "no refill, you drink too fast". It totally makes sense why the restaurant is empty on a busy street. For $7 I will never be coming back and recommend going anywhere else in the neighborhood.

I can't say enough good things about Sticky Rice. It's not every day that I walk into a restaurant and immediately feel a vibe of love and amazing energy. Honestly, I felt such positivity the moment I walked in. The first things that will probably get your attention is how wonderful the restaurant is decorated, and the great music. Probably the next will be the delicious aroma coming from the kitchen. You will certainly fall in love with the friendly staff as well. The customer service here is outstanding in every way. I will certainly return for all the aforementioned things but I will certainly return for the food as well On this trip, I enjoyed a nice Basil stir-fry shrimp with rice. I had steamed dumpling to start and chased it all down with their special Chili Thai margarita. As I mentioned from the start, Sticky Rice is more than a restaurant, it's an experience. You will feel the love in everything. The food and folks and ambiance- trust me on this and visit as soon as you can. It was a delight to write this review.

We came on a very cold Valentine's Day which was surprisingly not as busy as it should have been. There was no wait, and we were even given the choice to be served with hot water immediately upon being seated on that very frigid day. Amazing service with very unique food! We tried the railroad fried rice, crisp pork belly pad thai, and khao soi/kow soy (curry noodles) which were all fantastic. We especially loved the pad thai and khao soi!

Visited this place for a somewhat impromptu dinner while in NY for a wedding. It's a cozy restaurant with fast service! I opted for the dinner combo with chicken pad Thai and chicken satay. Pad Thai was delicious!! Highly recommend. The chicken satay was ok. It was flavorful but a touch on the dry side.

Food is fine. Service is very bad. Wont return.. The waitress was unfriendly from the start. We arrived at 9:45 on a Saturday night and were told that the kitchen closed at 10:30 in a tone that implied we should leave. Should have listened but at the moment I thought we have 45m whats the problem? Service was rushed and rude. We had eaten, paid and were sitting outside at like 10:40 finishing a beer when she literally demanded we give her the stool out from beneath us. Witnessed her treating other customers equally poor. Owner should be aware of this employee as they are losing you business.

Walking pass this place, a friend and I stopped straight in our spots because of the amazing smells coming out of this place. Spices galore! We just had to have dinner here. Their outdoor seating is a bit odd, they have a few tables right in from of their restaurant and a few high tops across the street. I ordered veggie pad thai for dinner. I wish it was a bit hotter in spice but it was very tasty. I loved how they added fried tofu for some protein. My friend ordered the pineapple fried rice. She said it was good and that it had a bit of a kick. What was disappointing was the drinks. We loved the lower price point for cocktails then most of the places near here but they weren't mixed well and kind of bland. Definitely a food go to spot rather then a drink with your friends spot. The sangria was all juice so I would order something else if you go, mojito was oka and the aperol spritz was the best.

I'm sure this place is good to some. My friends and I ordered and while waiting on the food I noticed everyone's food came. I thought maybe it took awhile for them to cook mine so I didn't bother to say anything until everyone was almost half way done their food. Politely I asked them about mine and they said "oh you ordered something?" and proceeded to make mine. It came out pretty quick after and when I tasted my soup it was SO sweet and not Tom Yum at all, mind you I was with my thai boyfriend and we occasionally eat Thai food and variations of Tom yum but that night, it did not taste anything like it so I had to take it back. I was so disappointed and hungry. Ambiance was nice though.

I stumbled upon this place while looking for something to bite on one Sunday evening in the lower east side. So glad I found this Thai spot. I was with my husband and a friend and they accommodated seating for us on the outside. This is still covid season here in New York so restaurants are doing outdoor dining. They also had a bottle of hand sanitizers for patrons to use as well as their menus were in plastic, i am guessing for ease of cleaning afterwards. I had the garlic fries with spicy mayo and some spicy wings which both tasted very very good. I also saw that they had cocktails and variety of wines and beer available. Will definitely be back at Sticky Rice.

I visited Sticky Rice as my first meal in New York, and it was just as I imagined. Long and narrow seating areas, beautiful decor, and good food. I got the Drunken Noodles, and it was not spicy at all. The flavor was there, but thr kick was missing. The server was attentive but not overbearing, always keeping our water full and seeing if we needed anything. The interior is very dark, so I wouldn't recommend coming if you like seeing what you're eating. Overall, good food, but it can definitely be spicier.

Solid food with the cutest decorations! We came here on a Friday night cruising around Chinatown area trying to find a place to eat that didn't have a long wait or cash only and we stumbled upon Sticky Rice. They had the coolest amount of decorations for Halloween and thought this would be a neat place to eat. We waited less than five minutes and was seated. The menu looks enticing and though I have been craving Thai food for awhile I decided to have the small plates and ordered the Mango Flower Steamed dumplings. It's one of their signatures consisting of chopped chicken, roasted peanuts, sweet radish, and Thai herbs. The presentation and taste of the dish stood out for me within the first bite. Granted the dumplings could have been a tad bigger but it was pretty tasty! If you decide to order a main or noodle dish, you won't be disappointed with their portion sizes. My two friends ordered the Spicy Basil Drunken Noodles and Low Carb Pad Thai (Gluten Free). Both looked delicious and they were both left satisfied. Another standout to point out is the punctual in service. The servers were attentive with checking up on us and our waters were refilled constantly which was great! The next time I come back to try this place I want to order the noodles or curry dish and try the mango sticky rice desserts! They also have plenty of options for cocktail drinks and overall this place is worth a try.

writing this review literally from live in the restaurant. that's how good the mango sticky rice is. i came just for dessert but the drink menu is on the back of the dessert menu so i got the coconut negroni too. the drink is delicious, the dessert is beautiful, the bathroom is cute, there's outdoor seating, and the service is great. if there are multiple people at the table, you should all get your own sticky rice.

Loved this place! All the food had great flavor. Usually masaman curry isn't my go to but it was my favorite dish here! On the sweeter side which I enjoyed. Pad Thai and apps were good as well.

Ordered lunch special of pad thai and veggie spring rolls also spicy chili lime dressing longevity noodle salad with shrimp/chicken. DELISH! Super friendly service and yummy Thai tea.

Found out about this place from friends. Sticky rice has it going on with thai food. I have yet to try More of the menu and I'm sure it's fantastic. Stop by eat great and enjoy the moment.

Excellent food! I went with a group of four and all of us shared dishes. We had the chicken satay, curry fries, calamari, pineapple cashew rice, and the shrimp pad sew ew. Everything was delicious and the staff were great. Will definitely be back!

Looking around the neighborhood on a Saturday night to see what was available for outdoor seating. Came to this spot which only had about a thirty minute wait before the corner table outside became free. Plastic barriers separate each table, as well as heat lamp keeping the place plenty warm. After a quick look at the menu, settled on the Chicken Masaman Curry ($17), side of Roti Paratha ($3.50), and a "Thai Spicy" Margarita ($10). Cocktail comes out first - a chili flake covered glass with a strong tequila/juice ratio. For some reason the drink is extremely pulpy, which made for more chewing than drinking. Food comes out soon after - a moderate sized plate of marinated chicken and vegetables served with rice. After a few bites, realized the chicken and broth are incredibly sweet; something I wasn't expecting at all. Rice helped a bit but wasn't able to overcome the sweetness. The side of roti paratha is small considering the price - about half the size of a normal roti, sliced into tiny tortilla triangles. The roti itself is very greasy, which didn't pair well with the sweet chicken curry. Had to discard most of the meal in the end. Plus one star for the friendly service and quick delivery of food. Maybe came on an off night, but didn't like any of the items I had ordered.

There are items on the menu I have enjoyed and there are others that I've never thought about ever again. I appreciate their specials, I love being able to try a variety of foods and still being full. To me, that's the biggest draw of this place. You are able to get a decent amount of food for a suitable price. I'm not sure I'd make a special trip out here to try it if I didn't live close by, but it is a solid choice if you are craving this type of food and not one specific food item. Service is really good, all of the people there are very friendly. Interior is OK, it's not attention grabbing. 3.5/5

Came here for lunch. Perfect sized portion in lunch special. Pad Thai was great. Sweet Ambience.

Had a great experience here with my kid after visiting the nearby Tenement Museum. We were freezing and starving, and Sticky Rice promised cozy seating and fast, spicy food. Delivered on both fronts: our comfortable table (with a space heater!) set the stage, the kid loved her vegetarian drunken noodles and I enjoyed my basil fried rice and Tom yum soup. Restrooms were clean which was much appreciated. Also enjoyed the lychee soda. Will definitely return.

Food was good but service was TERRIBLE. Waited 30 plus minutes for check because credit card machine broke. Wouldnt be too upset if this inconvenience had been acknowledged.. but sat the entire time with no apology from management or compensation in any way for time lost. Not impressed with customer service to say the least.

Incredible Thai spot with incredible food and service! Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly. We sat outside and our server constantly refilled our water, made sure we were cool amidst the heat outside, and answered all our questions in regards to the menu. I tried the Pad Thai and the Pad See-Hew, both had so much flavor and the noodles tasted very fresh which was impressive. Bonus points for their adorable outside decor! Definitely a must-try.

The calamari were unpleasantly chewy, the Tom Yam soup tasted like dishwater, and the salmon main course like cardboard. I could not finish any of those dishes (and I love Thai food). The bill for two ran towards $200. I was amazed by many 5-star reviews but then noticed that most of them were from pre-pandemic years. This place is going downhill.

Sooooooo good. We went to this place after stopping at the game box around the corner. Holy moly. I had the coconut soup the first time and pad Thai. Amazing. We went back within a week cuz it was soooo good. The curry was slammin, the samosas were so good. We also tried the sticky mango rice and it was delicious. I don't even like rice pudding or dessert rice but it was sooooo good. Def one of the best Thai places in New York and I've had a lot of Thai

I got the paid Thai and it was super yummy! The texture was super good and not too wet or too dry. Also got the chicken satay, which was just okay. Nothing too fancy. Overall a solid spot for dinner!

I love their dishes. I've eaten here quite a few times. Space is clean, food is always fresh. The service is great and the staff is always friendly and in a good mood

I was starving and was trying to find something healthy to eat after running around all day. The salmon salad was taster than I expected and super healthy! It did take about 15 minutes to come but it was a delicious healthy food option. I didn't know if that would fill me up so I got satay chicken as well with a peanut sauce and the sauce had more flavours than I expected that made it that more delicious. I would definitely come back with a group, very cool spot! The waitress even lent me their charger after seeing me struggling!
