How White Purveyors Came to Dominate the Fermented Foods Industry | Eater

"Community-centered fermentation workshops in Los Angeles run by Jessica Wang that teach traditional techniques while also highlighting tensions about authority and provenance—her own experience learning from a widely read white food blogger exemplifies how knowledge transmission can both help and obscure the roles of BIPOC custodians." - Miin Chan

Took the "Bowl in One" class. It's absolutely beginner-friendly, the instructor explains everything very clearly and takes you step by step through the whole process. It was my first experience with any ceramics class, and I had so much fun. Would definitely recommend!

We went last night for the Bowl in One class with Aiden. It was super fun. My husband and I went to try something totally new. The studio is clean and full of inspiration. We met other fun people in class too. As a teacher for over 25 years, I can say that Aiden was an exceptional teacher and really made the experience. He was easy to follow and kind with all the newbies as we tried to figure it all out. I would definitely return with friends for another class. We're excited to head back in 3 weeks to pick up our final glazed and fired bowls. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Took a planters class here and had a great time. Originally I wanted to take a beginners but the instructions were concise and tailored to fit all levels. Ana was super helpful and accommodating. Got lucky with parking.

The supportive community at this studio is everything!! I got hooked after a Beginner’s Wheel class and never looked back. The studio is expansive and light-filled. The glaze room is phenomenal. I didn’t realize how lucky we were to have mid-fire AND high-fire (reduction) kilns. And the wealth of class & workshop options are always interesting.

I took a beginning wheel class five months ago and the hook got in deep. I took a 2nd class and then became a member. The studio has everything including really good music! The staff are wonderful, helpful and approachable. I've met good people. The studio has become a second home. Take a class and see what happens. Here's a photo of what I've been able to do after just a few short months.

Came here for a one time bowl making class and loved it. Emi our instructor was very clear and helpful on how to do things. Everyone in this space also seemed very friendly. Will be coming back for more classes in the future!

I kept seeing ads for pottery classes but never really felt like trying it until one day I watched a video of someone making a bowl and it looked so peaceful that I thought, why not? I finally signed up here and made a bowl that ended up a bit lopsided but I loved every minute of it. The experience was relaxing and totally meditative. Might even go again just for the vibe.

Not a good experience was it was my first time doing it. I’ve booked an hour with my friends and we all had the same rushyyy experience. I wouldn’t recommend it as your first place ! Btw I haven’t received the email saying that my pottery was ready for pick it.
