A New ‘Crochet Cafe’ Is Coming to Capitol Hill This Summer | Eater Seattle

"Coming to Capitol Hill later this summer, Stitch Cafe will double as a crochet and crafting hub and a full espresso bar and tea shop: it will provide yarn and other materials, offer classes for those interested in learning, and serve an array of teas. I note the founder, Sarah Chae, an LGBTQIA+ fiber artist, aims to cultivate an environment that is welcoming and comfortable for everybody, and that Stitch will occupy the Pine Street space that formerly housed Poco Bar and Lounge. Chae is partnering with Shimon Masaki of Upright Tree Coffee Roasters, who will be supplying the coffee." - Harry Cheadle

Google
this is such a cute cozy place to study/do work or crochet while sipping on a coffee or latte! I had their hojicha latte and it was really good!! also no extra charge for oat milk!!! I live nearby so I will definitely be frequenting :) + good music

I am not a yarn or crochet person but I liked the crow mascot so I stopped by for Shay (the crow). The cafe has warm lighting and the seating was comfortable upstairs. If I had brought my laptop I would have stayed longer and worked for sure. They seemed to have some craft kits available on a table for customers, as well as portable lamps you could take if you needed extra light. They have an art wall on the stairs that have local artists' contributions that change every 2 months, which I thought was very cool. I thought there would only be yarn art but there were also paintings that fit the seasonal vibes! The workers are very friendly and I got my hojicha latte quickly. They didn't charge extra for oat milk which is always a pleasant surprise. The latte had strong hojicha flavor and had smooth texture. I think a downside is that they don't have any savory foods, but honestly I think that's fair considering how many other food options there are around here. I would definitely stop by after lunch to grab a drink, finish up some work, and rest before heading back home!

Google
I admit when Stitch Cafe opened I was a little skeptical that they could carve out a niche that would find its way into our rotation of cafes, and it is very likely it will now be one of our top visits. My cortados have been well prepared, and they stock bags of Kairu’s light roast single origin beans (at least for now) which are some of our favorites. Whatever blend (I assume it’s a blend?) they are using tastes on the “medium light” end which is welcome respite from the darker blends most Seattle spots favor. The staff has also always been very sweet and wonderful. We’ve also loved their hojicha lattes and baked goods. The atmosphere is top notch, and we often see crafting groups having an excellent time here. There is definitely a nerdy undercurrent which we appreciate :) We are still COVID cautious, too so I’m very appreciative of the wonderful outdoor seating (which is also very accessible) and a lot of the folks we’ve seen inside mask as well. I hope they keep the outdoor open through the winter too so we can keep coming here! I know it’s a tall order but if they started offering a light roast single origin option for espresso, this might be my ride or die coffee spot. Either way; Stitch Cafe has embroidered a place in our hearts very quickly. (To be clear, I’m just an armchair coffee person so it’s entirely possible my assumptions about the coffee are wrong! I’m just going off my gut)

Google
Considering tax is included, no tip required, and no oat milk surcharge, I feel like this is one of the cheaper options to get a matcha latte! And the baristas are so sweet! Upstairs is very cozy for working on your fiber arts project. There's also desk lamps and a yarn winder/swift for you to borrow. Hojicha was sold out the afternoon I came, but I will definitely stop by again.

Google
This cafe is super cute! I love that tax is included in the price AND tip is not accepted. My iced hojicha latte was really good, and my husband got an iced latte that he enjoyed as well. $18 total for an iced latte, iced hojicha latte, and a lemon meringue macaron. We stayed for an hour and a half and got some good reading/stitches in!

Google
Cozy and pleasant. Great for a few hours of work or to get lost in a project. I have tried hot and cold drinks and both have a great flavor, not too sweet. They have added more yarn for sale and other helpful items over time (I was pleasantly surprised to see a yarn swift and ball winder available upstairs). It’s nice to have a cafe option that is calmer than some of the more trafficked spots.

Google
Best matcha latte I've EVER tasted Sometimes looks empty from outside, but that's because everyone is upstairs!

Google
Great place to get your craft on while getting excellent coffee roasted on site by Upright Tree Coffee Roasters. Business partners Sarah (cafe owner) and Shimon (roastery owner) are just getting started, but you can't go wrong with great coffee, cozy crafting, and care for the community that they serve. Full disclosure, I'm a little biased because I did the interior design. We kept it lean by keeping some elements from the previous bar, but doing new coffee bar / cabinetry, new shelving display, new paint, etc., while making other minor improvements. But as a lover of good coffee, I can honestly say that the coffee is legit! Combine that with curated yarn and a lovely atmosphere and you can't go wrong. I'm excited to see Stitch flourish!

Yelp
Stitch Cafe is a wonderful place to sit and chat with fiber arts friends while enjoying a tasty drink and cozy vibes. I got the Hojicha Latte, which was flavorful and hot. Sarah, the owner, is such a lovely person as well and has put much care into the space! I would definitely come back. One thing I will note is there is limited first floor seating for accessibility; the primary seating space is on the second floor.

Yelp
Yes if you want good coffee and a quiet space to chill. No if you think it will also be a yarn store, or you want a large selection of pastries/food.

Yelp
What a cute spot! This is a great little cafe to grab some coffee or tea and then chill with a book or fiber arts project. The cafe is decorated with different art project (that you can also purchase) and sells some fiber arts supplies like yarn. There's not much seating on the first floor, you have to go upstairs to the main seating area.

Yelp
Very good hojicha latte and tasty little eggnog cream puff! Friendly service and cute little crafting vibes inside. Very cozy and warm.

Yelp
Great coffee and cute upstairs! Looks like they have craft events here. They don't charge extra for oat milk either =)

Yelp
Amazing crochet/ knit themed cafe selling drinks and also some yarn. So cozy!!! The drinks are very reasonably priced and includes both tax and tip (it was only $6 for a mocha). Brought a knitting project to work on. It's a little bit dark upstairs for fine detailed knits but I guess that's why knitters use those Lumos neck lamps. I am thrilled to see them up and running and can't wait to be back.

Yelp
This cozy, quiet knitting-themed coffee shop serves an excellent medium-sized matcha oatmilk latte for about $6 (in October, 2024). Mixed with brush in bowl, the matcha was very smooth. Good-sized seating area upstairs with a couple tables downstairs. Two clean bathrooms tucked out of the way. Mellow music. The signage is underpowered but don't let that stop you. The street parking was easier than expected.

Yelp
Enjoyable space and good coffee for fiber fans. They even sell a little bit of yarn. The owner is very friendly. I met a friend here to crochet and chat and we were very comfortable.
