Yelp
We visited the Stock + Grain Assembly food hall recently and my first impression was great. As someone who was born and raised in High Point in the 80s and 90s, and has come back to visit regularly since then, it's nice to see something like this in High Point. I was born in the old High Point Memorial Hospital nearby (no longer stands) and grew up going to First Baptist Church across the street. It's kind of wild to see all this here now.
Stock + Grain is located right next to Truist Point, home of the High Point Rockers baseball team and Carolina Core FC soccer team. The stadium opened in 2019 and the food hall opened in 2022. Stock + Grain is part of the gameday experience.
If you've been to other stadiums around the country, especially those built within the past 10 years, you may have noticed many are integrated with shopping and entertainment districts. For example, the Atlanta Braves' Truist Park was built with The Battery mixed-use development. Truist Point and Stock + Grain are very much like that, but sized appropriately for High Point.
My Yelp five-star rating for Stock + Grain is also heavily biased on the atmosphere we experienced. We visited for our high school reunion before a Carolina Core game on a Saturday night. Also, it rained, so it may have forced more people inside. Stock + Grain was packed and at one point, it was standing-room only. When we left, after it had stopped raining, both the inside and outside of Stock + Grain were bustling with activity. I don't remember the last time I saw High Point so alive and I was happy to see, at least for this tiny strip, it doing so well.
On the other hand, the times I've driven by Stock + Grain - not during a game or event day - it's looked dead. The gameday atmosphere probably makes a big difference. Your mileage may vary.
As someone who lives in a big city (Atlanta), I always appreciate how easy and free parking is in High Point. We were able to snag a spot in the surface lot adjacent to Stock + Grain and the ballpark. Amazing.
As for the actual food and drink that we experienced inside, unfortunately, it was just okay. We had cocktails from the full-service bar, Bevelry, and bowls from the new Mediterranean deli, Fig & Olive (opened July 2025). You can find my review for Fig & Olive here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/fig-and-olive-high-point
Vendor-wise, Stock + Grain looked completely filled in. I believe there are eight food and beverage vendors. If we go back, I'd be willing to give Fig & Olive another try. I'm also interested in Taco Street and Yumi Sushi. Our friends got food from those places and it looked good.
Design-wise, the space looks great, inside and out. There are varied types of seating -- indoor/outdoor, bar, tables, couches, and a banquette. They have games. Some of our friends' kids were playing chess with other kids. There was live music. I like the colorful High Point mural. And it was clean and comfortable. I saw a wide range of ages; this place is family-friendly.
Stock + Grain is definitely an upgrade for High Point.
