What a great time we had at Stoneground. We have told so many people to stop by since dining here. The atmosphere is top-notch, and alongside that is the excellent service. The food is high quality and all tastes great. I would recommend the bread service and whatever they have for dessert when you visit. For our entrée, we thoroughly enjoyed the squid ink pasta.

Google
Fun place to go for a great atmosphere and delicious food. Our waiter was very helpful with ordering and made the process fast so we could make a show at the delta center in a timely manor. It is cold so bring a jacket otherwise food is worth it!

Google
Always love recommending this restaurant to friends visiting Utah. Love their seasonal menu, the moody atmosphere and the fact that you can park at the back. I believe they make their pasta fresh in house and all the things I have tried has been delicious! I still dream about their bolognese 🤤

Google
Overall this place was good! However I got the Steve’s special and was slightly disappointed. There wasn’t any flavor? The texture was really great and the taste wasn’t bad but it lacked any defining feature. It could have used more seasoning or Parmesan. For the price it was not worth it and I wish I could have gotten something else. I also was disappointed that they didn’t have complimentary bread but that’s just a me thing. The service was super quick and my husband liked his dish, the fettuccine, and that one was good with flavor. We also got the chocolate torte which was sooo good! Better than expected! The other negative thing was the tables were really close together, I could hear the whole conversation of the couple next to us.

Google
First off the service is good, the staff is friendly but ... I made a reservation for a birthday and they forgot about it (Not a big deal). Food was ok, nothing out of this world especially for the price (bit overpriced but understandable due the location). Pizza was really good not gonna lie, the Fettuccine alla Zozzona was ok but still don't understand 🤔 why a carbonara sauce has Bolognese in it. Dessert was overly sweet not bad, not great. The place needs to be cleaned for sure sitting by the boots next to the walls full of spider web, dust fluff and more (with the air flow probably will end up in your food at one point, just saying 🫣) so far not the best we tried in Utah not the worst.

Google
Pleasant Atmosphere, Mixed Experience We had dinner here on August 9 as a group of nine Italians traveling through the USA. The terrace where we were seated was very charming. Service was good, and Ben did his best to understand our needs. As for the food, we had some reservations — for example, an excessive use of garlic, even in dishes where it’s not typically used in Italy. The pasta itself was well made. However, the wait time for our meals was quite long, around 60 minutes, which felt excessive, especially since we had two children with us. We appreciated the effort, but if we were to dine in Salt Lake City again, we would probably try a different restaurant. The bill came to about $70–75 per person, perhaps because we also ordered two bottles of wine.

Google
Awesome Italian food! The lasagna was soo good. Definitely one of the best lasagnas that I have ever had. Perfectly saucy and cheesy with super good Italian sausage. The black and bleu pizza had good flavor and great crust. We came here with a group of 15 friends and it was a great time. They did an awesome job of hosting our big group. I would come back here.

Google
We had a wonderful time with our friends here for dinner. Pasta and pizza are all delicious.

Yelp
Ever wondered what "Al Dente" meant when taking about noodles? The noodles at Stoneground were perfectly " Al dente". It made me realize my noodles I make at home were mush! Glad I got to enjoy a meal here. They bolognese sauce was perfect. The fettuccine was a perfect balance of spicy and red sauce. The fried olives for an appetizer was perfectly light. It made for a lovely evening and I will now try and cook my noodles better.

Yelp
I did find this place rather interesting. It has a very local hole in the wall vibe but serves excellent pizza with pretty surprising toppings. This place gets packed for dinner so make sure to make a reservation.

Yelp
Such a great dining experience. It was a recommendation from a friend since I was in town for a work trip. we love a Good recommendation. The portion size is HUGE and perfect for sharing. My sister and I shared the Margherita pizza and the lasagna. They were sooooo good and FRESSSSSSHHHHHHHH!! Cheese just melting. It was sooooo good. Just perfection. The restaurant is beautiful. Rustic. The staff were so kind. They have a patio area as well with mist fans for those hot days. Ample seats and family style seats as well. Great experience and great food.

Yelp
We love stoneground, the service is fast and the food for the most part is consistent. You absolutely must get the Focaccino if you go, the pesto they serve it with is phenomenal
google avatar

Yelp
Good vibes, great view. Parking is TIGHT and very difficult, but easy to access if you're taking trax. Service was meh. The arancini was delicious although it was disappointing to only receive one! I could have eaten three! Pizza was the biggest disappointment - the bottom was blackened and burnt and took over everything. The toppings were skimpy and I wasn't really able to taste them properly with the crust bitterness. This place used to be so cool and now it's just ... meh.
google avatar

Isaac R.

Yelp
This place is still delicious. I have no complaints at all; the food is good, customer service is great, and it's a nice, beautiful place for a date.
google avatar

Yelp
This was only my second time going to Stoneground and both times the food has been amazing! I love the upstairs atmosphere and it's great for a celebrating a special event. The first time I was there, there was snow falling and it was beautiful to watch it from the upstairs window. The Steve's special looked a little off because of the sauce but it was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend! The nono gpa was so flavorful! I liked both the gma and gpa. The asparagus is a must for an appetizer. I also love they have such a variety of wines, I don't usually see barbera's when I'm eating out.
google avatar

Yelp
My go-to spot when visiting Salt Lake City. Beautiful interior, friendly staff, nice menu, and diverse cocktails. Plus, the TRAX station across the street makes it a convenient spot for meeting U or U students. Great place for a date night, birthday dinner, or just a cozy Italian dinner out.
google avatar

Charlie B.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a friend that used to work here. It was a wonderful spot as I walked to the second level. I found a seat at the back bar and ordered a focaccino to munch on as I decided walk to eat. Finally chose the bolognese because I was still walking around and the bartender Tristan said if I got the lasagna I would probably want to take a nap after. So in the interest of staying loose I enjoyed the bolognese. The whole space is great for small gatherings and if you want a hearty good meal this is a wonderful spot to check out.

Yelp
Stoneground is a beautiful space with beautiful food. It's pretty idyllic for celebrations - birthdays, engagements, etc. The vibe is upscale without feeling stuffy. Our most recent visit was for New Year's Eve. Everything from making a reservation to finding parking was easy and accessible. The vast majority of the food was amazing! The octopus carpaccio is easily one of the best dishes I've had in SLC - the textures and flavors are immaculate! Also, their lobster pappardelle is to die for - richly decadent and perfectly balanced. Their cioppino left a lot to be desired though - the various seafood components were not cooked correctly, so while the mussels and clams were great, both the fish and the crab were disappointingly overcooked. All in all, a great bet for a night out or your special occasion!
google avatar

Channing M.

Yelp
We came in for dinner last night and what a treat! Makenna was such a wonderful server and gave us some great recommendations! The space is upstairs (there is an elevator in the entrance on the opposite side of 400 south so it's ada friendly). There were some lovely outdoor spaces that we'd love to check out when it's not snowing! Music was also at the perfect volume so we weren't screaming over each other. Food was excellent! Polenta tots, burrata, and the fresh bread kicked things off. Love that so much of the food (bread, pastas, cheeses) is made fresh in house! We shared 2 pasta dishes, the pork chop, and the scallops. The pork chop and scallops were a tad overcooked which was a bummer considering the prices. Next time we will have to try a pizza or something less expensive but not as easy to overcook. Finished with the gelato trio and doughnuts.
google avatar

Maya M.

Yelp
The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce had so much flavor and protein. The polenta tots were a bit too salty and dry. We had to order some marinara on the side to make the dish give what it needed to. Other than that the service was amazing.
google avatar

Isaac B.

Yelp
The food was mid at best and the prices are pretty insane for the type of food this is. The staff is really nice but I would probably say to try this once and that good enough to not try again. The restaurant was set up nice and I sat "outside" with my party and it was perfect. Had to ask for ice and the water is warm.

Emily M.

Yelp
The lasagna was life-changing. Better than my Italian grandmothers. Love the vibe, the food is outstanding & drinks are incredible.

Yelp
It's honestly a shame I can't give 10 stars. Stoneground is probably the best restaurant in SLC. It's a hidden secret you find out through word of mouth, or in my instance. I followed my nose from down the street. And my buddy and myself found ourselves on a rooftop patio with great city scenery with the best chicken parm sandwich I've ever had. And despite its modern yet rustic inner city design and feel, you won't be spending a whole lot more than you would at Olive Garden. I don't know another place that puts as much effort into ambiance and culinary quality. The staff is insanely attentive and friendly. I just hope they can bring back the Chicken Parmigiana. The seafood pastas are also amazing. You will have a hard time eating fast casual Italian after trying Stoneground.
google avatar

Yelp
We've chosen this place as a dinner for us co workers as an offsite event. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, just very dim lighting but romantic vibes. We started off with the charcuterie boards, mussels in the cream sauce which was absolutely delicious! We also got a couple pizzas as an appetizer which I enjoyed, crust was so soft! Our waiter was there throughout all our dramatic orders. The black ink pasta, as well as the steak was my entree and I enjoyed it so much!
google avatar

Lee B.

Yelp
The mussels! A must try! A generous portion in a delicious sauce with lots of yummy bread to enjoy the remaining sauce. Got the black pasta with lobster. The noodles were cooked perfectly and there were lots. I didn't get as much lobster as previous reviewers but it was enough. I personally felt the Chardonnay sauce was bland, if it was more flavorful then I would've considered this a perfect dish. My bf got the beet salad and it was beautifully presented. Had the chicken dish as well which he enjoyed. Highly recommend reservations. It's a small space but they make great use of the it. Very inviting and warm atmosphere with a mix of tables and booths. The large windows give you a nice view of the city as this restaurant is on the second floor.

Yelp
I am generally not a fan of food/restaurants in Utah. Things just don't hit for me when I visit. This place was actually pretty good and I would eat here again. There is a nice parking area in the back so that you don't have to walk too far to get the restaurant. Once inside there is sort of a weird set up where you walk up a few flights to check in. Once we were seated, the atmosphere was pretty nice. I'd even say cozy. I had the bolognese and it was good; definitely a big enough serving and presentation was great. Others in my party had the pizza and a few other pasta dishes. Everything was good. For dessert we had an order of doughnuts and again here, my NY bias is showing. I didn't think they were all that and a bag of chips... maybe just a bag of chips :). Seriously, they were fine and served hot with a raspberry sauce. Service was also good throughout the meal. The restroom does require a code (which I didn't notice at first), but the facilities were decent as well. Overall, not a bad stop and would eat there again.

Kieren H.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service! And the vibe is wonderful! We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
At first I was like what the heck - the location had me like ‍ and then I saw the sign the the restaurant was upstairs It's really beautiful - very rustic yet, is upscale - I wore flip flops and jeans so it's really a wear what you want even though I added upscale. I had the pizza Spinachi. Piled with mushrooms and arugula. You guys! This was delish. I wasn't even hungry and ate two pieces. It has multiple types of cheeses. I would order this again if I went tomorrow! Hubby had bolognese and said it was fantastic. Said it might have too much of a basil flavor for me but he loved it! I believe the pasta is handmade. It looked great. I do not eat red meat so I didn't try it myself Daughter had the Beet Salad and said it was "very good" The picked veggies were yummy We picked this restaurant off of google. It's worth the visit. We come in once a year and will be back Service was great too
google avatar

Yelp
Burrata salad was delicious. Tomatoes were super sweet and juicy. Lots of tomatoes and cheese. Nonno pizza was good, but I unfortunately did not realize it didn't include tomato sauce. The pizza tasted more like cheesey bread than a pizza. However, if you are into cheesey pizzas then this might be for you. Also, I was surprised to see how smoky the inside of the restaurant was. I thought something had caught on fire in the kitchen, but our waiter said this was relatively normal for the restaurant. He had opened the door to promote circulation and by the end of our dinner the restaurant was still quite smoke filled.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been there three times. The first time I had the lasagna. It was not good. Second time I ordered the Tagliatelle. It was so good should have stayed with that. Last time I ordered the Carbonara. It was okay at best. The Gaunciale was so over cooked, I thought it was a crouton. The bread was very good and the Arancini was good too. Server was very good. We were seated in a small room the last time we were there. Where they pack us in tight. I didn't appreciate that either. The big room is open and has some individual tables. I think that was our last time at Stone Ground. In summary I would say it's hit and miss. Good luck.
google avatar

Cole D.

Yelp
Fantastic meal. Great service. Fast service. Great ambiance lighting. I got the pork chop which I actually tasted the flavor of. Dry yet moist when you chew on it. The sweet potatoes were incredible. Bok choy was good too. I had slices of my family's pizzas and the dough was like candy. So soft and delicious. Fantastic place that I'd recommend to anyone in Utah.
google avatar

Kara H.

Yelp
I love their food and the service is top notch! My favorite lasagna I've ever had in a restaurant. I've had it other places but those places don't cook it in its own dish with the correctly shaped dish. Stoneground does it right and it's all gooey and perfectly caramelized!
google avatar

Lia F.

Yelp
Food is decent but definitely not worth the price, you're paying more for ambiance. The pasta in this photo was actually really good but previously I had tried the pizza which was average and the lasagna which was not notable. The cake however is heavenly and the staff is so nice
google avatar

Carrie O.

Yelp
First of all, to get there, be on the north side of the street. Take the driveway immediately west of the restaurant to get to parking. Enter the building and go up the stairs. You've arrived at your destination. Very cool vibe, both interior and patio. The most comfortable booths I've ever encountered. Great view of the kitchen and people watching around the restaurant. It smells amazing. The scallop ceviche was good, with light flavors. I wish it had a bit of chile and lime to complement the mango and scallop. The tagliatelle was just perfect. Order this and be happy. That sauce and perfectly al dente pasta! I always order gnocchi when it's made in house. This was divine. Light pillows of deliciousness with a great mouth feel, and a wonderful sauce. If you want bread, you must ask for it. The gluten free chocolate hazelnut torte was amazing. I asked for the recipe. Denied. I'll try to figure that out at home, but certainly will come back again. Service was great, glasses filled, we were checked on even though the restaurant was busy. We're coming back.

Yelp
My favorite wood fire pizzas in downtown SLC (I've tried settebello, midici (closed now), Tasso (2nd best). The wild mushroom pizza is exquisite! Recently we tried their cheesecake dessert and it was fab, loaded with all kinds of berries! The first time we went here on a Sunday (it's open on Sunday evenings!! Big deal for SLC!!) and they had a pizza buffet! We got to try different slices - tastiest pizza toppings. I tried sweet toppings for the first time and it was good! You get to try experimental toppings which aren't on the daily menu during the pizza buffet. Great service and love the dim lit decor, great for evenings. They have a cute little patio and enough parking in the back.
google avatar

Chantel H.

Yelp
Stoneground is one of my favorite spots for Italian in SLC. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a cozy interior and an open kitchen that allows guests to watch the chefs at work. Beautiful outdoor patio for spring and summer, a great spot for any occasion. The menu features a variety of classic Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, and seafood. The pasta is homemade and delicious, and the pizzas are cooked to perfection in the wood-fired oven (that they closed down for a few years back waiting for it to arrive from Italy!) A few of my favorites are the gnocchi, arenchini, tagleatelie, lasagna and any pizza will hit the spot. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any item here! Great service always, very accommodating and they take reservations. They also offer a Sunday special all you can eat type deal where you try many items on the menu, highly recommend!
google avatar

Kristyn F.

Yelp
Service was on point. Went for a rehearsal dinner and the staff was always there to fill wine glasses, take food orders, and answer questions. The food was decent. My husband had a pizza - crust was perfect. When they say spicy, they mean spicy! I ordered the pork chop - chop was a little dry but the crispy Brussels and potatoes made up for it. Will definitely go again, good space and service.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Update: Stoneground remains one of our favorite restaurants in Utah. Their patio and inside atmosphere are excellent. The service is outstanding. Their new spaghetti alla nerano is one of our favorite pasta dishes anywhere! Stoneground is better than ever.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Meh.... spendy and loud. The food was ok. I would not go back. Warm water at the table.
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Best Italian food I've had in a long time! And in Utah of all places! The focaccia is also divine. Mocktails are fun too! Not many people have heard of it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
google avatar

Hunter W.

Yelp
The ambiance was great. Quaint little basement with candlelit dinner theme. As far as service, would've appreciated a little more attention. We didn't get the drink that we ordered until halfway through our meal after asking again. On the other hand, the food came surprisingly fast considering the quality. Had the Bolognese and split a Margarita pizza with my wife who has the black seafood pasta. Everything was excellent. I would even go as far as to say the pasta was some of the best I've had.
google avatar

Angela R.

Yelp
Last night before going to the theater, we went to Stoneground for dinner. the ambience is always good. I do enjoy Stoneground's food and I do love lasagna. But I was slightly disappointed because the lasagna just wasn't hot enough. Even though the server said, don't touch the plate it's extremely hot, it was not. The sauce should have been bubbling. It was not in fact the plate was only warm.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my god!!! This place was amazing! I visited from Orange County, Ca and saw this was one of the top rated Italian restaurants in the area of SLC. I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday and boy I loved it. I honestly don't remember the names of the dishes but I hope the pictures attached help. I had a pasta dish paired with a glass of red wine. My partner had a filet mignon with what seemed like scalloped potatoes and the best asparagus I've ever tasted in my life. I wasn't able to get a picture because he gobbled it right up. We also had house bread with different dipping sauces and our server let us try a stuffed potato ball. To end the night our server brought our this magnificent cinnamon donut plus some kind of pudding with a drop of strawberry jam/jelly and vanilla ice cream. The addition of a tiny candle was the cutest gesture. I might be killing the greatness of the dishes by how I describe them but you gotta taste for yourself! I would definitely keep visiting until I try all their dishes. Their menu does change, items I tried might not always be on the menu so make sure to check beforehand. There is indoor seating with booths and tables available. It is a tad bit noisy because everyone in there is chatting it up, but also very clean and elegant with dim lighting. But overall, loved the experience, loved our server, loved the food. Thanks chefs!
google avatar

Glynda S.

Yelp
Great service, great food. Had the nonno, the smoked cheese gave it a different twist, but in a good way. Wish there was more sausage though. Other than that, great place!
google avatar

Alice M.

Yelp
I apologize for the dark photos, we sat on the patio and it was dark. While the nostalgia in me misses the casual pizza and pool that this place was about a decade ago, Stoneground is a slc gem that I find is often times overlooked. Their drink menu is carefully picked and the food is delicious. The duck special they had was probably the best duck I've had in SLC, skin was crispy, inside perfectly cooked! Yum! The agnolotti was delicious, and very rich. From the ambiance to the food, it is a great restaurant.
google avatar

Mitch G.

Yelp
It is WILD to me that Stoneground doesn't have a higher rating than it does. This place is arguably one of the best Italian places in SLC. The corn ravioli dish that we had might have been one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. The pizza was amazing as well. We also had the bread and dipping sauce appetizer that is served table side and that was amazing as well! We had a table outside and could enjoy the views of the city. Our server was very patient and friendly and I couldn't recommend this place enough.
google avatar

Brynn J.

Yelp
Just left this place and already can't wait to come back! Everything we ordered was extremely tasty. We began our evening at Stoneground by ordering a ton of different appetizers- polenta tots, olives, beets, burrata, focaccia. Our favorites were the burrata and the focaccia, but everything was awesome! For my main meal I ordered the lasagna- a little salty but would order again. Finished my meal with the donut dessert- I'm not a donut person but thought these were fantastic. Very moist and fluffy. The highlight of the dessert was the ice cream. So good! Highly recommend this place!!!
google avatar

Samantha K.

Yelp
Came here without a reservation on a weekday and they were able to accommodate us in the bar area. We started with the burrata and a charcuterie board (which was huge especially for two people). The burrata was delicious and we would definitely recommend. We got the nonno gpa pizza and a pasta (I can't remember what it was called exactly). My favorite was the pasta--it was so flavorful and the pasta itself was cooked perfectly. We felt like the servings were generous and we ended up going home with plenty of leftovers.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our group of seven sat near the central fireplace. Very cozy. Our group tried many appetizers, including the olives, giardiniera, polenta tots, asparagus and the antipasto board. All were so good. My favorites were the tots and asparagus. The charcuterie board was very good as well, but a little pricey at $25. Another dining companion raved about her burrata salad. The black tagliatelle and Steve's specials were table favorites, as was the steak special. The donuts are so freshly delicious! The tiramisu was good, but not super flavorful. Our waiter was attentive and efficient.
google avatar

BB C.

Yelp
Excellent service and ambiance; the homemade pasta is delicious. Loved the lobster pasta dish.

Braelynn H.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to Stoneground Kitchen. The parking is in the back behind the restaurant. You enter through the back door and walk up a flight of stairs to be seated. The service was decent. I was seated in very cozy area next to the bar. I loved the ambiance of the place - very unique. The food was great. It had an authentic Italian taste. Don't expect Olive Garden or Carabba's flavor. I ordered the Bolognese and dragonfruit cheesecake and I was not disappointed. I will visit again the next time I am in SLC.

Perry O.

Yelp
We've been to Stoneground numerous times and have never been disappointed. Food is wonderful, as is their service. Highly recommend

Danya J.

Yelp
My boyfriend visited tonight for his birthday and got food poisoning from their chicken pasta.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Ambiance wins out. The basic options are better than the experimental ones. Try the carbonara or pizza. I would only recommend the black tagliatelle if you like al dente pasta
google avatar

A S.

Yelp
We love Stoneground! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The service was great, very attentive. Don't forget to order the donuts for dessert- they are a crowd favorite.
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
This place hands down is my favorite! Excellent quality food, cocktails, and wine. I would say the only opportunity is the ventilation is not great so it has a tendency to get very smoky inside. The patio is gorgeous.

DecorVibes L.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite place! Best lasagne ever if I could give more than five stars I would. They also accommodated my son on a wheel chair. There's an elevator then we sat towards the window and there was a spot for his wheel chair so they made it very comfortable and service was fantastic as always!
