I really hope a store manager or supervisor reads this. Not because I want something for free or because I feel entitled but because the employee behavior was simply unacceptable. If you hate your job that much, please quit and save everybody from having to deal with your miserable attitude.
The entire experience was completely and totally awful. From people taking up several parking spaces, as well as parking in the fire lane, to store layout and cleanliness, this Stop n Shop has a lot to be desired. The 2 deli associates ignored me while I stood (as the only customer) for over 5 minutes. They continued with their personal gossipy conversation and completely ignored me. I did not end up getting any deli items bc of them.
The produce section is not only horribly laid out but half of the selection is already rotting and there are many many fruit flies. Several of the other customers were opening packages of strawberries, eating some, and tossing the moldy ones aside. Why does the store allow people to touch packaged fruit? And then throw it on the floor?! GROSS.
The organic selection is pitiful at best. The few organic items they did carry were past the sell by date or already going bad and visibly mushy/moldy.
I did my best to make responsible, nutritious, healthy choices. They really make it difficult for you here!
Once I made my way to the cashier, the light was on however she refused to make eye contact or acknowledge me. I said "hello" as Pam the frumpy middle aged cashier continued to ignore me. I repeated myself except much louder this time, "HELLO!". Pam now looked up at me, furrowed her eyebrows, wrinkled her nose and said "What!?" I replied "I am simply saying hello. Maybe you should try to be a little nicer to people: especially paying customers." Chris, the teenage bagger looked up at me with blood shot squinty eyes and smiled. Pam scanned my groceries with a frown as Chris bagged them with a stoned smile. I paid for my items and as I left I turned around and said "I hope you both have a great evening! And hey, Pam, life is too short to be this miserable, smile!" She snorted as Chris giggled.
Filthy dirty store, unsanitary mouth breather customers touching every piece of fruit, absent managers, terrible produce, simply awful organic selection, and VERY rude employees. One star for ample parking and one for being open late night. Avoid this SnS if you can!
