Storming Crab

Went here for father's day lunch and the food was great. It was quite busy and our waiters kept being different people all over and getting our to go orders mixed up but overall this is a great seafood restaurant. I will come back another time. Gratuity here is included with groups of 6+

Got the 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb Crab legs, 1/2 lb sausage, a lobster tail, 1 corn, 2 eggs, and 2 potatoes. Enough for 2 people and was about $80. A little pricey but the taste...Chef's kiss! I left the restaurant calling my family saying " You know Storming Crab, we'll it's a hit?!" Will be coming back. My recommended is have it with Garlic butter Cajun and if you like spicy like my husband and I do, do medium. Hot is way to hot for us. Medium had my nose watery and my husband sweating lol. And we eat spicy all the time.

Five stars what can I say? My service was exceptional from the waitress. She started by bringing me a sample of their seafood bread. I had the softshell crab, which was wonderfully battered. Then the boil was presented. I went with a pound of clam a pound of crawfish, old bay garlic butter seasoning. It came with two corns, two potatoes and two hard boiled eggs. I managed to take care of all the shellfish, but couldn’t finish the sausage potatoes and eggs. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate at this establishment to celebrate a birthday. We were wanting crab leg's. I ordered the letter A Combo platter that consisted of Crab leg's, headless shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, all prepared in garlic butter and sausage. I really enjoyed it!! There was plenty of food, and I left full. Our server Chanel was outstanding at catering to our needs. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, and the food was fairly priced. We would definitely return. Thank you Storming Crab for providing us with an awesome evening!

This is my favorite local place for seafood. Delicious food. Good atmosphere. Friendly service. Seated and served quickly. Would definitely recommend.

WOW. All i can say is wow. The food is absolutely amazing. The best food I have ever had in my life. I have never been to a food boil and needless to say I will be back many more times. They were very quick. Staff were very nice and helpful. Ive had seafood my whole life and it is better than anyplace on the water. Highly recommend.

OMG! Absolutely delicious! Went twice in a week. Definitely going back! I got the crab boil n crab/shrimp boil. My husband got fried scallop basket n oyster po boy

We love this place. Fairly affordable, depending on what you get. I grab it to go sometimes and it’s so easy, doesn’t take long and is excellent! Flavoring is hands down the best. Environment isn’t really my thing but honestly if you’re just there to eat, who cares what kind of music is playing. Have been before when it was quiet and have been when you could barely hear yourself talk. BUT food has always been 10/10. Service has always been fine.

We had the opportunity to visit Storming Crab again last week and we had a very pleasant experience! It wasn't busy or crowded, but the food came out hot and tasty. The host was very pleasant and our server, Mecca, was very pleasant and attentive as well. Hope to visit again soon! :)

This was my family's first time here, and it was amazing overall! The service stood out--our server was so patient, even though we kept asking her to come back because we weren't ready to order. She even gave us free seafood bread, which was delicious! My sister and I shared **Combo #1**, which came with shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage, and crawfish in the special mild sauce--it was so flavorful. My mom had the **catfish and fries**, and my sister's **fish sticks** were fresh and didn't taste store-bought at all. The only thing I wasn't a fan of were the regular potato fries here--I prefer the battered fries from Red Crab. The restaurant's decor is incredible, with ocean-themed sculptures that make you feel like you're at the beach. The vibe is fun, relaxed, and they play great music. It's definitely worth a try if you love seafood and a cool atmosphere!

My son and I went to this location and got our food within 15 minutes of sitting down. The service was fantastic, we were greeted instantly and the food did not disappoint. I got a pound of shrimp, half a pound of sausage with corn. I would recommend this location for sure!

We had a very attentive server, Perla. She checked on us a few times during the meal. It was our first time there. The food was good, but a little too salty for my taste. Maybe it was the Old Bay. We plan to go back, so I'll ask our server for a less salty meal. I got the 2 lobster tails, but I could only eat 1 because you get 2 servings of everything when you order 2. They bring you some delicious mayo bread while you wait for dinner. It doesn't sound appetizing but it's pretty tasty. It was quiet when we arrived; hardly anyone was there. However, the place begin to slowly fill up and IT GOT NOISY. Yikes! I loved all the decorations with the sharks, fish and the pirate. So fun! Parking was not a problem. We parked right across from the door. Great place.

I take my wife out shopping ever Sunday as a reward for taking care of me during the week. We always try a different place to eat. This time we choose the Storming Crab. On a side note, I am allergic to seafood but I figured they would have something for me. Not really, just wings. I ordered a half dozen wings because if I have never had them before, I was cautious. She ordered the crab legs. Like wing, you order the flavoring and they coat it. They bring the order in a ss bucket with the legs already seasoned. Let me tell you, I was disappointed with the presentation. I ordered the wings crispy, which they were not. The sauce was ok on the wings but the legs was pretty messy to eat. She said they were fresh enough. I ordered a beer, since the tap wasn't very good. The salad was tasty enough but I was to rave about the blue cheese dressing. It was outstanding. The service was just so, so. I still left a 20% tip. Until they add steak or chicken dish for us landlubbers, we will not be back.

We dove in before we could take a picture. We had the shrimp with medium crab house Cajun seasoning added potatoes and sausages. After being disappointed with almost all of the food in Ocala we were so happy to find this place. Plus they have a full bar! We will be back!

Service was quick and Timmy was Great! Food was Hot and Very Tasty. Bread was Very Good. Don't hesitate in coming in and trying this place.

Nice, comfortable setting with definite seafood motif. Staff were all friendly and worked as a team. Food was good with large portions. Definitely worth the 35 minute drive!

Dear Chat - this place had good shrimp, but the hotness level of their sauces are absolutely weak. We progressively moved up to the hottest possible spice level for our boil and it was below that of a Tabasco spice level. BYOS - bring your own sauce.

I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. There appeared to only be one table of guest. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. They still had Mother's Day specials so I ordered the #1 special which had: crab legs, head off shrimp, green mussels and I added a small broccoli. The bartender brought out seafood bread as appetizer. I was starving after my flight so this was a welcomed surprise. It wasn't really hot but very flavorful. My seafood bag came out a few minutes later and it was smoking hot. I got the house blend seasoning with medium heat. It was delicious. It was the perfect amount of food for me, I normally go overboard at seafood boil places lol

We went back here to get dinner but we did take out this time and the food is still really good. Their house Cajun sauce is great! And the service was pretty good and our food came out fresh and flavorful. The lady taking our order was very nice, especially since we had to change something on our order, which was a bit inconvenient for her and the kitchen but she took care of it for us. I'll keep going back here!

It's been awhile since we've been there. In a word; food was disappointing. We ordered the #3 dinner combo: crab legs, little neck clams, sausage, crayfish, corn on the cob and redskin potatoes, along with a 1/2 dz oysters. Oysters were a decent size and appeared to be blue points out of Apilachacola Bay on the Gulf of America. Unfortunately the person in the kitchen didn't know how to shuck very well. The meat needs to be separated from the bottom shell. Little neck clams were over cooked and the sausage was sliced too thin. Corn, redskins, crayfish and crab were fine. But no butter was served and there was no salt/pepper on the table. Jay the server/bartender was polite and attentive. BTW the seasoning sauce was lackluster. Highly unlikely we will be back.

Excellent gator tail and service. Wait time was zero to be seated whereas Bob Evans across street was packed. Glad we ended up here.

We had lunch here the other day. The food was excellent! Their clam chowder was the best I have had in years. Our server was Jessica. Wow! She thought of everything! Phenomenal! She was personality plus! Professional. Servers need to take lessons from this young lady. All in all, we had a wonderful lunch that day. On our next trip to Ocala, we will certainly be dining at Storming Crab!

I was sort of excited to see a new crab/seafood place open up so getting here was only a matter of time: Storming Crab. I had been in the place before when it was Ruby Tuesday, so I can't say it looked too much different: sure, on the surface there is a lot of seafood related decorations and the salad bar is gone, but that was about it. We started with onion rings and a cup of clam chowder. The onion rings were nothing to be excited about but the chowder was tasty, really chunky and delicious. I had much higher expectations than what we received, I'm sorry to say. The crab was good. The shrimp was not very flavorful - it wasn't bad, just there. The corn and potatoes were okay and the sausage was not anything special. The fries were good and the gator was alright. Truly, just nothing special. Granted, it was only one visit, so I'm not checking it off, but it may be a while before we're back.

Poor customer service, food was over cooked and smelled very fishy, I do not Recommend. I have no plans of trying it again.

I visited the restaurant with a friend today. We ordered a fried oyster basket and a fried cod basket. The breading on both the oysters and the cod was very peppery. The oysters did not appear to be oysters. I pulled apart the breading and clearly was not oysters inside. Not sure what it was. The cod was over, cooked and extremely dry. We were very unhappy with the food in this restaurant. And definitely will not visit disestablishment again, and would not recommend it to anyone. I would rate it 0 stars.

This place rocks! Stopped here passing through, and this was a great surprise. We had the shrimp and crawfish boil which was more than enough for the two of us. It was drenched in Cajun/butter sauce and had just the right amount of heat to it. Our boys are gonna have to step their game up to top this one!

Just moved to Ocala. Was looking for a good seafood restaurant.Stopped in today and saw they had fried scallops on the menu. I knew they would probably be frozen, but was in the mood for scallops. Ordered them with onion rings and they came out soooo over cooked. Scallops were hard as a rock and so were onion rings. So disappointed that I will never be back. The server was very nice and offered to comp me. I declined and just will not return. Disappointing!!!!

Very newly opened so why I gave 3 stars vs 1. 1. No liquor license yet so no bar area but can order bottled beer or wine that's it and not while you are waiting 2. New staff so he patient from the moment you walk in was chaos at the hostess station 3. Kitchen must be new because literally our food came out 1 dish at a time some cold some warm none that great 4. Seafood boil was decent was missing corn and potatoes but since took over half hour we didn't care and just ate it 5 amazing shrimp crab legs and crawfish was more than enough for 2 people of seafood 6 not sure Soave cause it was hot and we asked for medium tooo much old bay just yet garlic butter and abs for the old bay as a side out mistake 7 server was friendly but in the weeds and had a hard time keeping up Worth at least one visit maybe after they've been open a couple months and got the kinks out Would not go back on my own bit if friends or family wanted to try would give it another shot

We like to check out any new to us place in Ocala. I will say right up front that the decor is very appealing. Our server, Haylee, was polite and friendly. She did adjust to our preference of relaxing, chatting with each other and having a leisurely dinner. The bar did not have bitters for my favorite drink of Old Fashion so I had a strawberry margarita. A pet peeve of mine is that drink prices were not posted on the menu. When the bill came, we found out that the margarita was $10 which is high compared to other places. Our meals of a fried cod fish basket and fried shrimp basket were okay.

Wonderful place to get good tasting seafood, such as crab legs, shellfish oysters And shrimp. I do not recommend the wing appetizers. Everything else besides, that was perfect. The ambience of the seafood shack was beautiful. The music was wonderful the service was exceptional. Will be going there again. The menu was very diverse. Had a variety of great tasting seafood, and options. I really appreciated the host/manager coming by and checking in on us to make sure everything was perfect. In addition to that the pricing is very competitive as well.

Raw Oysters very good. Large and tasty $22.00 for dozen from LA. Then we order Combo A 1/2 lb. Snow crab and shrimp without head, potatoes, sausage and corn. Mild butter garlic with old bay very good. Husband had same but medium heat which was spicyThe only complaint was aisle were small and too many couples with rowdy kids. Needed space customers better. Amazing! We try to come here as much as possible. Have yet to have a bad experience. Service has always been good, food has always been delicious and beer has always been cold. Kids love it as well. Love the family style meal where everyone just takes what they want.

Went in for lunch today & we ordered the Dinner Combo #1 with the Crab House Cajun sauce. We also tried the Seafood Bread. All I can say about the food is WOW We like that the food has a lot flavor but it's not salty. I would definitely recommend trying this place out. Our server Kearsten was amazing! We don't know what was better; the food or the service. We'll definitely be returning!

The service here was great! Our waiter was very attentive and answered all our questions! The food was pretty good and the prices were fair for the special of the month. I will say the only reason I give the storming crab 4 starts instead of 5 is due to price and the fact they are not very family friendly. By that I mean very limited choices for kids food but I understand that's most places! You can have your boil bag seasoned exactly how you want! That's a huge plus for me! But also a little pricy if you're not getting what's on special especially compared to other seafood restaurants. It was definitely a fun experience and the restaurant ambiance elevated the boil in the bag feel!

This is my favorite place to eat. If I could afford, I'd eat here everyday. The flavor of the food is fabulous, food always comes out hot, and the restaurant is VERY clean! The service is good, I'd highly recommend Sarah!

First time customers. Take out, early dinner for two on a Monday. I was greeted right away and offered a menu. The interior of the former Ruby Tuesday's was transformed into nautical themed restaurant. Ordered fried ship and Cajun fires, and snow crab legs combo , mild with shrimp; head off. Our order was prepared quickly and packed nicely to go with everything needed including bibs for the crab legs. Once home we devoured our meals. The fried shrimp was good, would prefer butterfly, larger and more shrimp. The crab leg combo platter was the clear winner here. We chose mild, will go for the hotter medium next time. Enjoyed our meals and will be back for more.

Ocala fl. Worst food ever!!! Ordered fried clams. cat fish. gator and fried okra. nothing had ANY TASTE threw most of it out!!! All three of us wouldn't eat it. A total waste of money

I absolutely loveeee seafood. I have eaten here a few times simply because they are good and offer specials once in a while. Storming crab is cheaper than Red crab, and that's a plus. My only complaint is that unlike other seafood places you only receive 1 piece of corn and maybe 2 eggs. You also receive only a small number of potatoes.

The absolute worst place I have been. They unfortunately will not be in business long. They do not service their customers and put extra item on your bill. They short you on the amount of seafood ordered. Stay away.

I was staying at the hotel next door and thought I would give this place a chance. I ordered the crab cakes appetizer with a side of broccoli. The waitress brought out a piece of bread with seafood spread. Everything was wonderful. The crab cakes were small but they were the appetizer. The roumalade sauce was delicious. There was garlic butter so I dipped the steamed broccoli in it. I left satisfied.

Freaking amazing! The best scallops I have ever eaten! They were tender and the flavor was excellent! Not chewy or gritty like I have had at other restaurants. Highly recommend!!! Way better than Red Lobster!!!!!!!!

I am from California where we have the Boiling Crab, and this restaurant is similar. The house cajun seasoning was 5/5 with a heavier emphasis on garlic. We ordered some snow crab legs, shrimp, fries, and a side of rice. The snow crab legs were delicious. The shrimps were 4/5 because some of them were mushy, most likely due to being frozen. The fries were a little mushy as well. Nevertheless, the overall service, atmosphere, and the food were great. Would come again!

Amazing experience every time we go and the food and drinks are absolutely incredible!

What a rip off, 23.99 for one king crab leg and it comes with no claw.I also has shrimp about 6 and three little potatoes one piece of corn for 31.00 total .I left hungry. I will not go back.

The waitress had a bad attitude once we walked in and barely checked on us. Literally it was probably us and another person in the restaurant. I had to ask for boxes and our bill. They overcharged for the food they gave us literally maybe two king leg, 2 small potatoes, and a small piece of corn for $42 that's ridiculous. I get it's new and all but you'd think they'd hire people that want to be working and at least smile. Plus the employees sat at the bar cussing the whole time we were eating.

I had to leave because there was literally nothing on the menu for someone eating alone. The two stars are for the very polite and understanding staff. I was so psyched for some good seafood but basically would have had to order a large amount of food and pay twice what I typically pay for a meal. Sadly I have no intention of returning there since they clearly do not want single diners. Hope they make some changes to the menu. Place was basically empty at dinnertime on a Saturday so they sure could have used my money.

Great place! Fresh food . Gator bites were excellent and soft. Not overdone like a lot of places that don't know how to cook gator properly. Had a shrimp po-boy, and it was excellent! The flavor was perfect with the chipotle sauce. The fries were awesome, got the Cajun seasoning, and I don't normally rave about fries, cause I am not a big fan, but it was definitely cooked in fresh oil. Came out crispy and hot. The bartender was so friendly and kind, and we had an excellent experience here. Definitely will return! Oh, and the fresh crab/cheesy bread was so darn good it was dangerous!

Best seafood boil I've ever had (granted that hasn't been much) but this is so good that I don't want to risk going somewhere else and not liking it.

When we got there the bartender was very helpful we ordered a drink and we ordered some food while received the food the crabcakes were cooked in hot oil so they really weren't cooked the fried clams on the top of the basket a good bar in the basket was nothing but crumbs that helps out at the bar took the mask off and was having brakes and the rest and we're just walking around without their mask on very disappointed

Excellent food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is great. The décor inside is warm and inviting. Women's bathroom is beautiful.

First time here and it was fantastic!! I had crab legs and shrimp combo, I only wish I had more crab but it was good. Our waitress Loren was fantastic and very attentive.

The food was very very good but the concept was confusing. They kept asking if a wanted separate bags and I had no idea why. Your order is like a mini clam bake including all the liquid in a plastic bag. It was very hard to eat at our hotel but the flavors were spot on. They should ask people if they have ordered from them before and explain this a bit better.

This place is amazing! I had the best snow crab legs!! Can't wait to go back to Ocala. The service was very friendly and helpful.

I went for the anniversary special which was very good. My biggest concern is that my husband doesn't eat seafood and the selection was very slim in that aspect of things so I probably would not return at least with him. I hope they make it because they were not very busy sadly. Greatly decorated inside as well.

First time eating king crab and I couldn't be happier. The price was just right for seafood and the garlic butter flavor was perfect. I was pleased with the service and over all atmosphere and will definitely be back soon.

The food over seasoned. Too salty! If you have hypertension don't go to this place. In addition the menu has a lottt of fried stuff (so greasy) . Even the kid's menu mac and cheese is deep fried. They are sending us straight to obesity. If they had grilled choice it would be better, I mean variety. I won't comeback again. And the combo seafood was swimming in oil
