The 23 Best Restaurants In Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"For a sophisticated pre or post-theatre meal, Story Cellar is an excellent option. Whether you’re seated upstairs or down, you’ll be well looked after at the sleek brasserie. Water glasses are refreshed whenever they’re half-empty, chic table lamps give everyone a healthy glow even after sitting through Les Mis, and French food hits the mark even if prices stack up quickly. You could come for a good-value rotisserie chicken, chips, and salad, but you’d be missing out on brilliant starters like umami-rich snail “bolognaise” on toast." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

Story Cellar

"A lively younger sibling to Story, this bistro de luxe in the heart of Covent Garden offers a relaxed experience with an emphasis on counter dining. There are tables available too, but overlooking the open kitchen is the place to be for a view of the grill-centric cooking. Steaks, fish of the day and rotisserie chicken form the basis of the menu, with bold flavours and generous portions duly delivered. Ensure you leave room for a classic desserts like strawberries and cream trifle." - Michelin Inspector

Story Cellar was recommended to me by a work pal. The service is attentive but not intrusive. The team explained everything clearly. Entry level wine was a little pricey for our budget. There is an extensive wine list. I’m no wine buff so it’s a lot to go through. Thankfully our lovely waiter made some suggestions. We shared a roast chicken which comes with salad and french fries. It was perfect. So succulent. We also tried the snail bolognese on toast equally divine. I just loved this place. Do pay a visit.

To say this place is great would be an understatement. We had amazing service, great banter from chefs & front of house. Food was exceptional and bordering on hypnotic. The snail bolognese is a must, we had 5 star pork and rotisserie chicken which slapped! Finished up with an apricot soft serve…. I was in heaven. 5 mescal margaritas… damn good too. Loved it. Go here… GO!!

Ravioli - excellent Pork - outstanding. Maybe the best pork chop I’ve ever had. The deliciously flavoured and textured sauce was a big part of the experience Bread - disappointing Bread pudding - average. I was hoping for more interesting texture

Possibly the best steak I have had in London. And all the rest of the dishes are amazing too. We had one issue the first time we came, undercooked mussels, but they have since redeemed themselves.

Wow wow wow - as a seasoned events pro who is privileged to eat at some of Londons fabulous restaurants my first time at story cellar blew me away, the food along with the service made for an exceptional evening. Who knew chicken and chips could blow you away - well it will at this restaurant. My client had the private dining experience (18 pax) and they were wowed, every single one loved the food and went out of their way to say so. They enjoyed the signature mains which included, oyster, tuna tartare, steak, chicken, sea bass, followed by organsmic bread butter pudding and other outstanding desserts. Hats off to the whole team and I can’t wait to return. Thank you

Story Cellar, a Parisian-inspired rotisserie-style neighborhood restaurant by chef Tom Story, holds a one Michelin star. The beef fillet was the standout dish, but the rest of the items fell short, including their renowned chicken rotisserie. The artichoke soft serve was both creative and delicious.

Very nice staff and ambiance. The problem is the food. It’s not very creative. The choice for the sauce for the pork and the chicken was demi-glace, which does not match the food. The music is loud. No acoustic dampening of any kind.

We were sat at the bar looking into the kitchen, which was really nice. Wonderful atmosphere, the Maître D' was very attentive as were all the staff, and of course the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend for good quality food.
