Where to Watch NFL and College Football in Philly

"Sto's is the sort of neighborhood sports bar that will cheerfully open at 8:30 a.m. if Penn State's playing in Ireland for some reason, which makes it worth checking out no matter who you root for. But if you're looking to connect with Pitt fans, this is where you'll find the Philadelphia Pitt Club gathering for every game." - Ernest Owens

Google
Stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to grab a quick mid-afternoon beer. The bartender was friendly. Love the look & vibe of the place. They have old school video games and a huge cool mural. We got the city-wide special (shot & beer for $5)—great deal. I’ll definitely be back to hang out and try some food. Edit: this is my new fav spot. I came back for Taco Tuesday. The chicken and brisket tacos were AMAZING! I wasn’t a fan of the buffalo garlic wings I tried (very bland) but the drink specials were awesome and the bartender remembered us!

Google
Great place to watch games and hang out. Especially if you are a Pitt fan. Numerous TV’s to route them on. Also has an outside area for games. Great beer specials and food specials as well. The brisket nachos were delicious. The owner was friendly along with the bartenders.

I’d been coming to Sto’s often for years between maybe 2013 - 2022. The food used to be pretty good bar food, particularly their wings. I’m not sure if the former cook is no longer there or what, but I visited this week and the 2 separate order of wings my friend and I ordered were horrible. They were undercooked and had no sauce/flavor. I had them sent back. The bartender asked if I wanted anything else but just that one bite of the wing made me lose my entire appetite. The guy next to us had also ordered wings and we heard him complaining about his order too. My friend and I both ended up getting sick to the point of vomiting and other stomach poisoning- like symptoms later that night which we both attribute to the wings, as that’s the only common denominator. Since that day I can’t even stomach coming into contact with chicken. Definitely know I won’t be able to order food from Sto’s until they get someone in the kitchen with enough sense not to send pale wings that look boiled or to multiple tables .

Went here for taco Tuesday a few days ago. Food was amazing and the special made the meal very inexpensive. Attentive and courteous staff, however the food took a long time to get out from the time I placed my order which is not preferred for someone looking for a quick bite while on lunch break.

Google
This is such a great bar! Good drinks, the best prices and Amy (my bartender) was the best! My friends (who are locals), recommended this bar to me and I thoroughly enjoyed! I will be sure to come back the next time i’m here JUST FOR AMY if anything❤️

Google
Stos is good. I tried their dry rubbed ghost pepper wings and they were tasty, crunchy, and a real nice kick of spicy heat.

Google
Awesome bar with the coolest beer garden! Indoors there's arcade games, a Nintendo 64 and a shuffleboard-esque game. In the beer garden there's life-sized beer pong, oversized Jenga and oversized connect four. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Google
Great place to stop by for a quick drink! However, you will wanna stay to play a video game and partake in a bite to eat

Yelp
AVOID AVOID AVOID Don't be tempted by the taco sign outside! Place was empty (no one else waiting for food) and I still waited 25 long minutes for 4 tacos. Came out ICE COLD, and the fried piece of fish was chopped to hell - absolutely obliterated. Why would you chop up something after you fry it? The "brisket" also looked awful, also ice cold. There are so many better options for food along Market, 3rd and 2nd. Don't ruin your Tuesday with shitty tacos.

Yelp
Small, divey, cheap, and fun as long as it's not too crowded - it was packed on Football Sunday. There are lots of TV's for all your Philly sports indulgences, good wings for a good price, and cheap beers on tap with a nice variety of choices. Not great, not terrible; serves it's purpose. It's one of those places that I'm sure the regular visitors and nearby neighbors love, but I wouldn't go out of my way to travel far to check it out. I'd been keen to come back during a less crowded time to get a better feel.

Yelp
Honestly, it was a loud mess. I was there on a Saturday night and I'm not sure if the atmosphere was the daily norm or if was just the late-night weekend vibe. Either way, definitely not was I was expecting for Olde City. Bartenders were nice, and attentive. Which I appreciated. But one of them was vaping, and to be honest, it was a little off putting. I don't know if they have food normally, but as I mentioned, it was late, so, there was none available. All in all, if you're looking for blasting music, this could be the place for you. If not, pass on this place. L

Yelp
We walked by and saw the awesome festive outside bar and had to pop in and were delighted! It was a fun little bar but the owner came out and we chatted with him, told us about the bar and how he got the spot told us about the bartenders... overall just a super friendly place! The bartenders were like... 12 but they were friendly and helpful. This is just a great hangout . If we didn't have to catch a flight we'd have closed it down! The people were just so fun, the drinks were typical but it's a great ambiance, they have cornhole games set up and lots of seating and stop said they are getting more heaters set up so it will be a fabulous hang out through winter. Thanks for a great time in Philly, Sto!

Yelp
Had a nice experience here with good service and friendly staff (shout out to Corinna and her barback)...plus specials! Stopped here on a Monday afternoon and had $.50 wings...6 wings per sauce so we ordered 24 wings. We tried the jamaican jerk, the chipotle, the maple bacon, and Korean BBQ. They make all the sauces in house (including the dressings...bleu cheese was delish!) and our favorite was the jamaican jerk.. The Korean was tasty too with a hint of sweet, the chipotle was nice with a hint of spice, and unfortunately the maple bacon lacked flavor in our book... and I'd personally rather have the wings tossed in the sauce before they are plated in the baskets...the rolling rock pitcher for $10 is also a great deal and the open storefront allows you to see the entire street. Fun little place with cool vibes, good specials, and a menu that I'd definitely want to come back to try!

Yelp
I like this place a lot. From the decor to the food everything was excellent. I love that they play 90s music videos on their TVs. The menus are old albums. Mystery beer. The food is real cheap and real good. Scrapple bites. Kung PO tofu. $5 nachos that could feed a family. The place wasn't packed and it wasn't too loud. I like my friends. So when I go out with them I want to be able to hear them talk. That's the measure of a good bar to me. Server was excellent. Anyway I was really impressed. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Stos is pretty lit. Bartender Amy girl is so fun! She's helpful and steered us into fun things to do in Philly. She made our night. Thank you to STO.

Yelp
Decided to stop by to watch March madness. Spoke to Tiffany the bartender who was actually the head chef. Tiffany did a great job of giving me a brief run down on how the food is prepared and how she likes working for the owner (lawyer) that appreciates good beer and food. I was happy to know the food is carefully prepared even though it's mainly wings and. Finger foods. Tiffany has a passion about her preparation and final product. Give Sto's a try you'll be very happy. Tasty food and great service.

Yelp
This place was so much fun. They have an inside part that has video games and an outside spot that has a bar, lawn chairs, corn hole, and GIANT beer pong. It was such a beautiful day when my boyfriend and I were there so we stayed in the outside section for the most part. The awesome bar tender made cupcakes and was giving them away for free if you bought a drink: we made sure to buy drinks and tip her well Drinks were good and fairly priced (can't speak to the food because we didn't get any). We were there around 4 on a Friday so it wasn't too crowded, but I would imagine it gets a little full during peak hours. Will definitely check this place out again.

Danielle G.

Yelp
Beer is good, fun vibe. If this is the bar affiliated with Old City beer garden....shout out to the bartenders working with the blond girl with short hair not working and taking selfies. I can't stand that shit. She tells the guys next to us, oh they'll help you down at the other end. Can't stand lazy people!!
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't order food but there's a good variety of beers on draft, you've got the chance to play some N64, chalk to draw on the walls with, movies playing on television and great selection of music. Was a shame there weren't more customers on a Friday night.

Nik A.

Yelp
I met my best friend here...kindness Monicath Christianity and Juliæneus we also had a great burger. Also Sto will kiss you lightly on the mouth if you ask nicely. A little love goes a long way

Yelp
Stopped in for a mid-day beer. They have a nice selection of on tap beers. I got the peach rose beer. It was really good! It's kind of a sweet and sour beer! It was $6. It's a pretty small bar, laid back atmosphere! I enjoyed myself here! They have $9 rolling rock pitchers, which is pretty cheap! I recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed, humble atmosphere!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Better than average food such as nachos and wings. Good dive bar spot to duck into when looking for a drink during the day. They got the standard chalkboard specials such as $5 city wides and well drink specials. They also serve pitchers of beer and have a okay craft selection. Nintendo 64 up front.

Yelp
Sometimes things just come together. Leaving a meeting in Old City, I think to grab a quick bite at Sto's. And it's 50 Cent Wing Monday! So this is another Wing Report. Minimum order is 6 per sauce so I went with regular Buffalo and then the Face Melter sauce which was the spiciest, wet sauce. They do have a dry rub that's made from the ghost pepper and that other really hot pepper but I like wet sauce. Now, the sauces did their thing. My throat was on FIRE. Stomach had a slight churn later, but that was it. My only negative was that the wings were baked (or maybe grilled?) instead of Fried. Oh, that and the one bartender took forever to give service. I recommend it for the wing specials , though. Give Sto's a try on a Monday.

Yelp
bar service was non existent and the manager/owner? was not concerned about the lack of service even though he was anchored at the end of the bar, he seemed more interested in pouring himself a couple of pints. The bathrooms were disgusting. This place needs Jon tapper and Bar rescue.
google avatar

Yelp
Met up with a few friends here in March before COVID hit. Overall the vibes of this place were pretty cool. Drinks were cheap, music was good, and they have tvs playing movies, and a station with vintage gaming systems that you can play. Hoping to come back here when this pandemic is over!
google avatar

Kristan K.

Yelp
Typical dive bar with a cool beer garden in the summer. They have a vast selection of homemade wing sauces. I really enjoy the Cajun & the face sweater, and mango habanero sauce. Not made for those who don't like a lot of heat. City wides all day & can you can pick from three beers & three different types of shots. Stick with beer & shots here as the mixed drink barely had an ounce in at as I watched it be poured. Decent dive neighborhood staple. They also have great deals on pitchers.

Yelp
Yikes!!! Super slow, inattentive bartender. Terrible, bare atmosphere. The owner was drunk and belligerent. I feel terrible for all of the employees - especially the one he was berating in front of us customers yesterday. He was openly chastising employee "Enzo" for being a worse employee than "Faith" who he still proceeded to refer to as a "dumb b*tch." I couldn't finish my drink fast enough. AVOID!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite local bar in the city. I started coming here the week it opened and fell in love. I have been looking for a place with a variety of wing flavors and the moment I stumbled into Sto's and saw their menu I could help but go once a week! Tiff is who cooks all the food and not only is she an awesome person but her food is just as great. She is super friendly and willing to adjust to any food allergies! Chelsea and Riley are THE BEST bartenders there! They always know what drink I want and get it for me as soon as I walk in! They are always super friendly and make me feel welcome. Not to mention prices are unbeatable! A must go to bar!!!! Try the food!!!

Ella J.

Yelp
This place is disgusting do not eat here no matter what the waitress was even hesitant to give us the food. My boyfriend got food poisoning from the disgusting wings! There was also hair cooked in our wings! Like inside! Soo gross We tried to call them and the answering machine straight up says they won't listen to the voice mails and no one has picked up! We're literally at the hostpital now I will get the fda and health inspectors involved and try to shut them down because this is disgusting n
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing wings and service. Gotta try the maple bacon wings. Out of this world!!! They have incredible food and drink specials. Monday's they have 50 cent wings with a million varieties to chose from. My favorite is the classic buffalo wing. The blue cheese is to die for!!!

Yelp
Ok, if the damn N64 controllers would turn left on the joystick this would be a 5 star review!! Kidding, kidding, but that would've given my buddy a chance at beating me in something other than time trial on that classic N64 MarioKart joint! Actually, I don't think that would've saved him :D For real though, finding this place was a win for our visit to Philly! We wanted to walk around & do a ton of touristy stuff, which we did, but we really wanted to know where the top tier cheesesteaks were at! We got to enjoy some NBA Playoffs basketball as well as a local chef who dropped some knowledge on us as far as Gooey Looie's having the meatiest & awesomest cheesesteak in Philly! We ended up coming back for the Monday night wings deal & each put down a dozen wings with a total of 4 different rubs or sauces total! I had the coconut curry & the garlic parmesan wings while my road trip compadre opted for the ghost scorpion rub & Korean Hot sauce wings. I didn't think the ghost scorpion rub was all that hot, or my garlic parm wings all that garlicky. The coconut curry wings had the best flavor in my opinion, but the Korean wings tasted like a bbq hot sauce & that was pretty tasty. Oh, texture, I almost forgot! These wings were perfectly fried & crispy on the outside & moist on the inside! More garlic on your garlic parm wings & a dab of more fire on those ghost scorpion rub wings! Beer prices were consistent in the neighborhood, but they did offer $3 deals on a couple of bottles they were running out of...so I helped them clear out some inventory! Peroni & Pilsner Urquell were the choices & they also had some draft specials that slip me mind less than 24 hours after embibing there. What are ya gonna do, it happens :) Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the outdoor area where they have cornhole boards set up & an additional mini bar that looks equivalent in size to a backyard shed, but hey, at least they offer outdoor activities, right!? Yup, I'll be coming back here next trip into Philly!

Yelp
I just finished casting for a role in Philly, and needed something remotely clean to eat to prep me for fashion week. I saw $2 dollar tacos and walked in traditionally I walk by this place on my tourist outings to the city but it's packed at night. Today I ordered 4 tacos and was able to play some super smash brothers on the Nintendo 64 to pass the time by. The tacos were a good value for what they cost and packed full. Not sure how well it'd be if it cost 5 dollars a taco. The icing on the cake was the videos games the bathrooms are downstairs but could def use little TLC as the door didn't want to open and the urinals were close to flooding on every flush.

Yelp
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, Sto's has done it again. A great hangout, terrific drinks and legendary food! If you haven't been here you're missing out. Come try their exotic mimosas.

Yelp
Its a lovely tiny bar and restaurant that best explains me...they have nintendo games that me and my friends played till late afternoon...we went in the morning....got lord knows how many pitchers of beer....drunk and flushed.....tourists everywhere thinking we were locals drinking early in the day....its a free place to get really loose....enjoy with friends...there were kids playing the games with us.....im glad the lady bartending was there...she made sure all our items were behind the bar as we were drinking....truly gem....my fav part of visiting philly....

Yelp
Calling all 'bros' this is your bar! Stumbled upon this bar on my friends bar crawl a bit back. Sto's has a very chill vibe along with a good atmosphere. Tons of video games to play, xbox, cornhole, etc. I believe there is beer pong every Friday and Saturday as well. Walls behind the bar area are filled with TV's. Some for gaming and some for actual games playing that day or evening. I've been there before when they had the majority of the TV's playing 90's music videos which was cool. Sto's has a various amount of beers on tap and I've heard there tacos are really good.

Q A.

Yelp
Total dump. All the bartenders are interested in is their phones and texting . Incredible how dirty the floors are and the kitchen can't be any better . The people in there are dirty .
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Really cute game bar. They have 2 working n64 consoles with a variety of games in addition to a few arcade cabinets which is cool. The bar plays a lot of nostalgic 90s hits and with the customers often singing along is a very welcoming overall vibe. There is ample seating and a really best collage on the wall. I had a cocktail which was delicious and the right amount of alcohol for the price point. Really enjoyed my time here and would love to go back.

Yelp
Had a great time at this place. Randomly stopped in on a Tuesday. I couldn't resist the $2 shots and $5 margaritas. Bartenders are super cool as well

Yelp
My wife and I went here for lunch on a Wednesday. We were the only 2 people in the entire place. It took a while for the order to be taken, which was fine. But then, they informed us that they were out of the chicken gyro. So, my wife chose the Jersey Burger, which has pork roll and a fried egg. About 20 minutes later we were told that they were out of pork roll and asked if she would accept bacon as a sub. To which she countered with no bacon at a discount. They seemed alright with that. But 5 minutes later, dude went running down the street for F'ing pork roll. Mind you, they were out of the chicken gyro and pork roll, on a Wednesday, with no customers in the entire place. At the 45-50 minute mark, we still had no food, so we decided to pay for our 2 beers and nachos. They charged us $26 for 2 beers and nachos. We paid $21. We won't be returning. If you own an establishment on E. Market Street, you need to have your lunch game down. Sto's has no lunch game.

Yelp
Stopped at this neighborhood location for "Taco Tuesday" while we were on our way to a different place. While the two tacos for $4 seemed like a good deal, they were odd tasting -- more like luke-warm fatty barbecue and soggy soft shells. While the server was nice, and the french fries were good, and hot, the tacos at this place were borderline scary to eat. Didn't try the tequila shots or margarita deal, and don't care about video games. Wouldn't recommend Sto's, as there are a lot of better choices within the block.
google avatar

Julian S.

Yelp
A friend and I visited Sto's during the Santa Crawl--a great time that everyone should experience at some point--and loved the experience. The crowd wasn't the worst nor the best but the bar service was wonderful. It was not a super long wait for drinks, even though the place was crowded. We ordered several drinks with food in between and the fries and wings were a nice addition to our time. The turnaround time is really what was impressive. With people ordering drinks and food so rapidly, we expected to wait for a while, but were pleasantly disappointed.

Hannah L.

Yelp
Extremely rude. We went to the bar an hour prior to the football game we wanted to watch which was airing on ABC. I verified with the bartender that the game would be on for us before ordering my drink. She said it definitely would since we were there early; we would just have to wait for the Penn State/Ohio state game to end. Not a problem since that game was about to end. However, they never changed the channel so at about 7:50 I asked if they could go ahead and change the channel to turn the game on. The bartender behind her pretentiously asked what game was playing on that channel. I said "OU/Texas tech" and she turned around and talked to the other waitress. The first waitress said they'd get it changed while the other one shook her head. They never put the game on. We had to leave after the game started to find somewhere else to watch it. Additionally, 4 of their TVs were playing music videos, no sports. Some TVs were playing the Texas A&M game. There was really no reason for them to refuse to turn one of their 8 TVs to the OU game.

Yelp
So awesome, one of our definite go-tos and they just started serving brunch! We started coming here as a classic with a twist dive bar where we could play games while we drank without breaking the bank. And then we tried the food...WHAT?!?!!!! UNREAL pulled pork sandwich and burger. Super chill place to hang, awesome vibe, very comfortable as locals.

Yelp
Most bars that claim to have great wings, don't, it's really that simple, it's really not their fault - great chicken wings are a difficult menu item, they're a combination of three things; The actual meat, the seasonings and sauce, and the careful and consistent preparation. Sto's nails it EVERY TIME, their wings are practically a religious experience. They start with good meaty wings, smoke them, fry them and season them in over a half dozen flavors of sauces and dry rubs, personally, my favorite is the new Coconut Curry, but they honestly have a flavor to fit every personality - from spicy to sweet, cheesy to creamy - everything is super tasty and served with a side of friendly conversation and glorious chill. I'd love to tell you about the rest of the menu, but I can't, I just can't say no to the wings, I just love this place.

Micah W.

Yelp
Doe is the best bartender in Philly, hands down. I had a great night, awesome food, and just overall a good atmosphere for a relaxing night.

Yelp
Had a great time at stos last tuesday! rockin jazz band and funny stand up comedy! bar was pretty full and they had a decent beer selection. As for the food their female chef could sit on my face and I wouldn't mind, the tacos she made me and my friends were delicious, and she was a smokin hot bbw. we will definatly return hungry for more. i give stos 5 stars plus they have video games and free shuffle board! nuff said!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I was on the work trip alone looking for some local flavor to enjoy while being safe and the ladies behind the bar were off the chain great. The music was awesome, the games I wanted to watch were on and the drinks were cold. I live in a tourist town myself so I get what's going on. Thank you for giving me a wonderful experience.
google avatar

M N.

Yelp
Tons of TVs for watching games, N64s, shuffle board, good price on drinks, extensive Wing options, bartender and service were awesome. I usually only leave reviews to complain about places, but this was worth praising.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on Friday night cause the boys wanted this place for the Mario Kart.. ok ok fine I'll try somewhere new. The bartenders were SOoOo weird. Both thought they were hottest girls in town, kept adjusting their hair and clothes. Yo, just chill, and get me my drink. Like I would just wait and stare while they fixed themselves for them to ask for my order. And when my group left tips, they stumbled and kept asking us who each tip was for. Like don't you know who took the order/made the drink? Or you just split it later that night. Just so odd. Redeeming factors: Mario Kart is cool. And you get to request music/music videos are playing. Got to just do my thang and dance although no one else was.

Yelp
I was in philly for 3 days and every single night I was at this bar. It's a semi-dive bar with regulars and out-of-towners like myself. They have the best tacos and nachos during their happy hour. Stupid prices. Every night was a new bartender and all of them were fantastic! My favorite was definitely Emily. By herself I saw this little girl lay down the law on some drunk-regulars, and watched her breakup a potential fight. I felt like I got a real taste of philly. Also if she reads this holla at me!

Yelp
WOW!!!!!!!!! Theyve got the Best wings in town. Great bar with tons of draft and bottle choices. Several Flat screens. It's primarily a sports bar. Chill. Video games.

Yelp
Hanging out in Philly for the weekend and all of my local friends told me how great Stos is. We went in and the place seemed awesome. Went to order a round of drinks from the bar and the bar tender asked for our ID's. No problem. We're a group of four guys in our mid and late thirties. The bar tender (a surly little girl covered with tattoos) proceeds to bend one of the ids in two and rips the outer layer off his license clean off. She then proceeds to kick us all out of the bar for having a fake ID... meanwhile she ruined my friends COMPLETELY LEAGAL license and starts to curse us out. When I asked her on what authority does she have to ruins peoples IDs she called me ever name under the sun and demanded I stop yelling at her. I asked her a simple question in an inside voice and she was the one who went nuts. Long story short, terribly rude and incompetent staff just let a $100 bar tab run out the door for no reason. Thumbs down Stos

Yelp
My boyfriend LOVES this bar. Not only because they have a pretty good selection of beers on tap, but because they have two Nintendo 64 game consoles out for customers to play! Neither of us are much of gamers, but I do love some Mario Kart. The bar also has many TVs so it's great to watch a game here. And when the weather is nice, they put corn hole out on the sidewalk for customers to play with their friends. Pretty cool atmosphere, we will be back again!

M J.

Yelp
Horrible expierience! Went in for a bite and drinks and left dissapointed and hungry. It took 20-30 minutes for a server to take our order and after an hour we inquired about our food that had yet to come. The server informed us that the "Kitchen lost our order" (Who knows how long before anyone would have noticed or actually did something about it). The server came to our table after 15-20 minutes and offers to "remove the charge from the bill" (duh!) or "put the order back in". Since we were starving, we requested to place the order again. We were told the items would be out in 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes later arrived the horribly prepared food. Horrible service. Would never go back there.

Yelp
My of my favorite spots in old city for sure. Good food. Amazing chicken fingers. Reasonable drinks and a fun neighborhood type of a crowd.

Yelp
Music videos on TV?! CHECK! Hard drinks?! CHECK! Great bartenders?! CHECK! Great company? CHECK! Reasonably priced drinks?! DUH! CHECK! We will definitely come back when we're on the neighborhood!
