Stout Financial District Review - Financial District - New York - The Infatuation

"This mini sports bar chain has four locations around Manhattan, and the one in FiDi is in a huge space with plenty of TVs, but not so many that you'll get sensory overload. Stout is the perfect place if you want a more civilized sports viewing experience with personal space. The ceiling looks like it's about 20 feet tall, all the tables are situated pretty far apart, and the whole room is bathed in pleasant dim lighting. The focus here is on beers, but you can get unlimited Bloody Marys, rum punch, screwdrivers, or mimosas for three hours ($33) on the weekends until 4pm. It just so happens that a lot of football is played in this country on Saturdays and Sundays before 4pm." - Kenny Yang

This is a fantastic place in midtown NYC, right by Penn Station. They have around 20 draught beers, a long cocktail menu, and food menu. The food is the usual pub fare, plus some pretty nice salads, and other items. The food is good even if it won’t blow your mind, but the drinks and the service will. Gaston was my bartender; he was knowledgeable about beer, and genuinely interested in helping me find something I would love, not just like. The other bartender was also engaging. This place also has private rooms/spaces and outdoor street-level seating. Coupled with a fantastic location, this is one of my top picks!

Google
Great spot to watch a game. We had the pretzel, burger, pizza and Burrata Salad. It was really, really good. Seating was 4 tops, 2 tops and bar which is perfect for most groups. They have lots of taps and even more bottles and cans!

We've visited Stout near Penn Station many dozens of times over the years. This place and Feile next door are the two nicest pubs in the area, in my opinion. Stout, in particular, is always jam-packed full of people, and the food here is solid. If you're down near MSG for an event, Stout is an excellent place to visit beforehand.

📍 Stout NYC (right next to MSG) Just when you thought game night couldn’t get any better… 🤩 I dove into their Loaded Street Fries and WOW. Crispy fries piled high with tender beef birria, ooey-gooey Monterey Jack & sharp cheddar, zippy cherry peppers, tangy pickled red onions, and a drizzle of lime crema that ties it all together perfectly. Every bite = 🔥🔥🔥 And those Buffalo Wings? Absolutely next-level. Crisp skin, juicy inside, and that signature buffalo sauce has the perfect balance of heat and flavor. I may never order wings anywhere else again. 🍗💥 But wait—there’s more. Their Individual Wisconsin-Style Thin Crust Pizza is a revelation. Think ultra-thin, cracker-crisp crust loaded with melty cheese, tangy sauce, and just the right amount of everything. It’s NYC comfort food at its finest. 🍕✨ Whether you’re catching a game or just craving epic bar eats, Stout NYC is a slam dunk. 🙌 #StoutNYC #LoadedFries #BeefBirria #BuffaloWings #ThinCrustPizza #MSGEats #NYCFoodie #GameDayGrub #FoodieInTheBigApple2025

Had some burguer, fries and pretzel and they were all good. Good service and atmosphere. Will come back again.

If you’re an F1 fan in NYC, Stout on 33rd Street is the place to be on race day. Whether it’s a sunrise start or a late-night Grand Prix, this spot delivers an exceptional viewing experience with the perfect mix of energy, comfort, and hospitality. The setup is ideal for fans — multiple big screens with great sightlines from nearly every seat in the house, crisp audio for commentary, and a crowd that actually cares about the sport. It’s one of the few places in the city where F1 isn’t just background noise — it’s the main event. What truly makes Stout stand out, though, is the incredible staff, especially Managers Lizzy and John Murphy. Lizzy brings an infectious enthusiasm that sets the tone for a great time, and John’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality ensure everything runs smoothly — even when the bar is packed for a big race. Food and drinks are spot-on too. The menu has something for everyone — classic pub bites, hearty mains, and a solid selection of beers and cocktails. Service is fast, even when the place is buzzing with fans. If you’re looking for your F1 home in NYC, look no further. Stout on 33rd gets it right every time — a welcoming space, an engaged crowd, top-notch service, and two managers who clearly love what they do. Can’t recommend it enough.

Surprisingly great Asian salad and chicken! I did not try the salad but supposedly could have been from a great Asian restaurant!! Fun puzzles

We visited restaurant on Sunday. It’s pretty empty which is good for us so we can relax. Food is really good! We absolutely love it. We order dozen of oysters, chicken wings, chicken pot pie, and apple pie ( really recommend; not too sweet, just right amount of sweetness) all were very tasty. Shout out for my 2 lady servers. They are super busy cause they must have covered the whole restaurant just two of them. They were very friendly and service-minded ( Sunday, Aug 25). Would come back again.

Yelp
Ok.. So I was at this location on 33rd St. off of seventh Avenue having a great time watching the NFL games on these big screens. The music was fabulous and the energy was big. I started to get hungry and couldn't figure out what I wanted off of their menu which has so many good options. I saw a bunch of people eating double smash burgers that they have here. I asked them if they were good and they confirmed that Yes, the burger is good. So I proceeded to order a double smash cheeseburger with extra cheese and an egg over easy on top. OMG! I have to say I underestimated this burger. But once I took that first bite, it was over. I devoured that thing so quickly. it was so delicious, flavorful, juicy and just on point overall. So if you are at Stout and in the mood for a burger, I suggest you get that double smash burger. You will not be disappointed. The fries were good as well. Nice a crispy! The way that I like my fries. So next time you are around the Madison Square Garden area and wanna watch a sports game or grab a bite or do both make sure you hit up Stout 33rd Street. You will have a blast and enjoy your meal. All right, y'all have a good one ! -Ray

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch and a drink before a St John's basketball game at Madison Square Garden. Service was great and timely without being rushed. The Mediterranean Bowl was filling and flavorful. The Country Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers were very tasty. Both are recommended!

Yelp
Stopped by for few drinks on a Saturday night. The place was very busy and had good vibes. Music became a little loud around 10pm or maybe I'm old. The drinks were good- would definitely recommend the forever young!

Yelp
Go know, this is a chain! With Penn Station a block away, Stout is a good place to hang before catching your train. My daughter, husband and I were seated in a comfy banquette towards what I thought was the rear of the bar. Wrong! Stout is huge and extends out. A great place to host a private party. I had an unremarkable bloody Mary (which I don't recommend). T drank a couple of beers. (They've got a big selection!) My daughter ordered a watermelon fruse and salad. The salad had an overload of kale, a bit tough. But the chicken was good. Everything definitely pricy. I welcomed our brief repast. After kissing good-bye, S turned left, T and I turned right ... and we all got on with our day.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Tyson/Paul fight. Madison and Terri are great bartenders and did a good job of keeping up with the crowd.

Yelp
We went here because everything else was busy after an afternoon in NYC. The staff was not attentive and didn't come back for over 20 min to take our order. There was an event going on and they told us we only had until a certain time which was fine, but then they let the event planners in and they were standing and talking behind us and kept commenting they were waiting for us to leave when we didn't even have food yet. It was very loud inside generally and not a place to chat. The food finally came and I got a chicken pot pie which the crust was good, but inside gravy had a pungent taste. Least impressing place I went In NYC including the taco stand and this was a lot more pricey. Would not go again.

Yelp
It's been YEARS since I've been here. The only thing that seems to have changed are the prices. I of course happened to choose one of the more expensive beers ($14), the KCBC sour. It was worth it though! It might have been one of the best sours I've had. We shared the Bavarian pretzel as a snack ($12). It's huge and was more than enough for 2 people. You can skip getting the cheese though.
google avatar

Nick A.

Yelp
Great place to pre game before a rangers or Knicks game. Decent prices for the area and cool atmosphere. Don't expect a fancy cocktail here but if you're looking for a few beers this is the spot.
google avatar

Jimmy K.

Yelp
We tried this place for dinner since it was close to our show. Really nice bar atmosphere. Would be a fun place to watch a game. We tried the fish and chips, fried chicken tacos, and steak salad. Everything had great flavor. The steak in the salad was a bit over cooked (medium well vs medium rare). Our waiter was friendly but our service was on the slower side. She was good until it was time to get the check. Tried to flag her down but she was with a larger party. We were almost late for our show. We would come back though.
google avatar

Ami P.

Yelp
Great place to watch a knicks game! Love the atmosphere. Love that they play sound everywhere. There is a downstairs if the upstairs is already too crowded so don't be discouraged. Food is pretty much what you would expect from a bar. I got chicken fingers which were overly breaded and Spanish artichoke dip which looked delicious but was surprisingly bland. Cant say I was too disappointed tho. Husband got the burger which he said was decent. Fries were good. Also appreciate that they have some decent mocktails but honestly probably the kind of place you would stick to beer.

Yelp
I'm giving the 4 stars that it deserves as a loud, 25-40 year old male dominated, beer heavy, not bad food, I guess it's a gastropub-sports bar. For us, it was all of those things, which is why 60 year old, hater of noise & chaos me, would not return again, but appreciated the very lively atmosphere. Beer menu isn't bad, I just returned from Belgium/Netherlands and felt like there were many solid choices, of course for about double the European tab ! I loved the Dark Kale salad, originally it arrived looking as if it was leftovers waiting to be packed up, but the server was actually horrified & had a new one made which was robust as it should have been. My friend had Sweet Potato fries with an aioli dip that were perfect.
google avatar

Sharon W.

Yelp
Busy and loud but get a back room and you can converse. Fast service, food was pretty standard pub food. Fish was hot and tarter was nice. Whoever sucked the oysters was a bit careless lots of pieces of shell, but fresh. The was a knicks game and it's close to Penn station so lots of fans. I'd come back!

Yelp
Stout NYC is a good option for drinks/food before or after a Madison Square Garden event! I visited for dinner before a NY Rangers game. For my main, I ordered the farmers market salad with salmon. The salad was really delicious and pretty filling. The kale was well-dressed and it was full of fresh ingredients, so it felt like a somewhat indulgent yet still healthy salad. The salmon was on the fishy side though, so I'd order a different protein next time. My cousin and I shared the sweet and spicy crispy cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. The cauliflower was a standout - great textures and flavors and so addicting! The Brussel sprouts were good, but just tasted like your basic brussel sprouts. Overall, we had a nice meal, and it was great to be so close to the Garden.

Yelp
Went there for lunch with my wife. We sat at the bar had a Guinness, along with beef sliders and street tacos, they were very both good for appetizer level food. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Overall would recommend for lunch or stopping in for cocktails.
google avatar

Steven T.

Yelp
A quick review, no pics, stout is an a nasty to come to be the big show at the Garden! Great drinks, great service, great food! I know this is short, but I'm three drinks in lol! Enjoy!
google avatar

Apolonia E.

Yelp
It's enjoyable to catch a game with screens scattered throughout. The ambiance is straightforward, nothing fancy. The food was decent, nothing exceptional. However, the service was terribly slow; I found myself waiting a good 25 minutes just for a drink. Even longer for our food .
google avatar

Sarine B.

Yelp
Really good and unique flavors of beer. Had the spicy chicken sandwich and the buffalo chicken wings, which were delicious! Service was great, everyone was very friendly.
google avatar

Tom M.

Yelp
The cocktails are top shelf. True Master Mixologists. The Calamari was probably the best my wife and I ever have eaten. We will definitely be back.

Emmy R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere- dining room and then bar area. Great place to watch some football games. Tasty- food was great. Calamari is some of the best I've had. Service- Can't remember his name, but he was British I believe. Super cheerful and funny. Totally reccomend for an easy lunch.

Rock H.

Yelp
I ordered the Stout Burger to go, and ate it as soon as I got home (10 minutes after the food arrived). Within 6 hours of eating this burger I got the most violent case of food poisoning I've ever had - lasting over 3 days (still recovering now on Day 4).

Yelp
Chicken wigs were cold and beer warm watched WNBA game on a projector with little to no sound

LJ M.

Yelp
Food was good quality. Service was terrible and wait for food even longer. The chicken pot pie has returned to a better recipe.

Yelp
Wonderful, convenient place to meet a friend. Near Penn Station. Recommend the french fries barbacoa. Great selection of craft beers. Friendly staff.

Lily C.

Yelp
Big thanks to Stout for hosting one of the best pregame party we have been to. You made us New Mexico Lobo fans feels so special.

Ryan T.

Yelp
If could give negative stars I would. Had 3 different severs and then two different bussers that were more attentive than the 2 servers we had who randomly disappeared after they took our drink and lunch order. then we had to go up to the bar for more of our drinks as our two servers were still nonexistent. Then had to ask ANOTHER server For our bill to close out. the bussers kept asking if we needed anything else more than our servers did. Unacceptable.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 15 at Stout NYC on 33rd for drinks, pool, and darts. After an enjoyable dinner, we arrived at Stout in a jovial mood. Each of us had 0 to 1 drinks at our expensive dinner place, since we wanted to drink at Stout. Once we arrived, the bouncer picked me as the only one who would not be able to enter, saying I drank too much beforehand. The rest of the group tried to argue with him, asking to either call the previous establishment or check if I could walk in a straight line, or anything else he could ask for. He did not budge. We cancelled our reservation, got our money back, and enjoyed a low key night without darts or pool at the adjecent pub. None of us knew why the bouncer did not let me in, but believed it to be that I didn't fit in as one of the clientele of Stout. All in all, it ruined my night but thanks to the pub next door it didn't ruin the party.

Yelp
Osagie was such an incredible server! He was so accommodating when we had a specific game we wanted for March Madness and anticipated all of our food and beverage needs. The hostesses were also super accommodating in getting us the perfect table. Spinach artichoke dip was awesome and the meals were yummy. Great environment to watch a game!! Five stars for the service specifically!!
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
Food is really good! Great sports bar to watch the game. However, service is lacking. We arrived early afternoon so there was no crowd but between the hostess and bar tender you would have thought there was. We were the only ones at the bar besides a couple guys a couple stools down and the bar tender was just slow and would disappear.
google avatar

CA-Tour T.

Yelp
This is a good place to watch sports. I felt like customer service wasn't there for my table however it seemed like they did better service at other tables. Prices was outrageous for drinks. Surprisingly, this was a huge location. There is a lower level for private parties. Food was good. I ordered a pizza and a buck of beer. I will come again with zero expectations.
google avatar

Ty H.

Yelp
Definitely a beer bar. It seemed like Everyone in there was Irish which was really fun. I had the passionfruit vodka drink which was way too sweet even though I told him no simple syrup. The bartender was super nice. I like the fact that they had multiple TVs playing sports. We didn't have any of the food.
google avatar

Romel B.

Yelp
One of my favorite sports in midtown I've been coming here for the last 4 years. The menu is amazing with all sorts of great eats. The service is always great you won't ever complain (well I haven't) so you shouldn't. It's a sports bar with a low key ambiance with some outside seating available on good weather days.
google avatar

Barney C.

Yelp
Great beer selection. Always reliable place to grab a drink. Can get very overcrowded but there are quite a few bars contained within (technically up to 5!) including the massive one on street level. Food is nothing to write home about, I prefer the food next door at Feile (same owner/different menu). Prior to Covid there was much less turnover and a great staff. While many of the managers have been retained, the bartenders and servers are hit and miss. Stout is always reliable as a meeting spot in midtown. I subtracted a whole star though due to the covid casualty of Karaoke. Jack was the best karaoke host in Manhattan and it really hurt the overall appeal to lose that community aspect.
google avatar

Edgardo Z.

Yelp
Sports bar I celebrated at with my fellow Knicks fans. For it's purpose, it did the job. Good drinks, good people, good time. Can't complain at all.
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
Rustic warm environment with high ceiling, all high top tables and chairs made for a warm and inviting environment. Complimentary to the atmosphere was the cuisine, which my party of 10 were pleased. Our server was attentive on the Saturday evening we went. Our reservation was for 7PM, and we were a few minutes early. As it became busier, our servers' presence dwindled down a bit, expectedly. Had she found a way to keep drinks full and maintained a consistent presence , I would have given this place 5 stars. But, it is minor. I started with the lemon pepper calamari which very good and prepared just right with a nice crisp. I had the chicken pot pie. It was good and tasty, but I felt it could have been larger than it was. My party ordered various dishes; the roasted half chicken, turkey burger, bbq ribs, and other dishes I'm unable to recall. Everyone was pleased. I would definitely return to Stout!
google avatar

Fran D.

Yelp
Stopped in before the NY Ranger game for a drink. The place was crowded with Ranger fans! They had great music and big screens everywhere to watch the game. I ordered the "Sweater Weather " cocktail. It was Absolut Vanilla, Frangelico & Nutella. The description said it was garnished with baby marshmallows and it wasn't. It just had chocolate shavings on top. Overall it was a tasty cocktail!
google avatar

Charlie C.

Yelp
It's a good spot near Penn station to watch games or pregame before a event at MSG. Food wise the wings were meh and the hot wings were mild. They have a soft breading to them. And why is a Guinness $10 ? Ouch.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
Shouts to Cynthia for hooking it up when there's a busy Ranger game! Truly appreciated
google avatar

Lynn O.

Yelp
My second time here and it did not disappoint. This time I went for brunch with a friend. They were out of all vegan choices on the brunch menu but the staff were super nice and offered me a few choices from the regular menu. The cauliflower tacos were delicious! My friend also really enjoyed the harvest salad. Love the atmosphere and the staff. Looking forward to returning.
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
Tina's take : 2/10 So I want to start off saying this is a Rangers bar, as it should be. Emanuel was amazing but I can not say the same for the rest of the staff. Emanuel was great and tended to our needs. He was the only staff member who stuck up for us with our situation and told the boys who were rude to go away. Being two girls at a bar and having two boys (who were not off age) harass us and call us vulgar things is not cool. After explaining this to the staff they gave us pitty shots which was not what we asked for. However they gave the boys drinks as well because "we were bitches". The female manager was rude as well and she started yelling at my friend to leave, rather than resolving the issue at hand. She clealry is not a girls girl which is sad. Taking the side of UNDERAGE children is sad but if that's what your clientele is so be it. I do not recommend this place if you are watching a game go next door they are so much nicer. Businesses should be putting emphasis on the safety of their customers and we did not feel protected.
google avatar

Chun M.

Yelp
There's a curious ritual that happens at Stout for every NY Rangers home game. Being a block over from Madison Square Garden, Rangers fans, decked out in their NYR jerseys, come to Stout NYC to pre-game. From 3-4pm until 7pm, the place is packed with boys in blue tipping back their beer glasses while hockey highlights are playing on the big screens. Around 5 minutes before they drop the puck, the whole place empties out in a tidal wave of blue, heading down 33rd St. The staff breathes a sigh of relief, at least until they come back after the game. Once the crowds were gone, the staff had plenty of time for us. We stayed in the tents on the street to enjoy our brews and some bar food. I have to say that it's a notch up from your regular pub eats. The Buffalo Wings were HuMONGoUS! You really think they came off a buffalo! The Fried Calamari was decent and the Loaded Fries came with loads of cheese and crumbled BACON! My Stout Burger definitely looked and tasted handcrafted and was really good. I was impressed. I never knew Wisconsin style pizza was a thing, but it kind of fell flat though. Literally. The crust was wafer thin like a slice of matzoh and crunchy, totally opposite of Detroit style. I like my slice to have a decent chew and that didn't happen until the pizza got cold. But we scarfed down about 80% of it, because the pepperoni, sausage and onions gave it some decent flavor. And BTW, the Rangers trounced the Blue Jackets, 4-0. We didn't stay for the post-game, but I'm sure it was pretty nuts up in here.
google avatar

Emerald L.

Yelp
Here for a work event with coworkers. Upstairs in special event room. Own bar and apps. Quite loud but this is expected. Wine and apps great so far!
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Definitely great vibe and cool place to watch game. Service is ok at the bar area. Each beers is like close to $10 which kind of pricy, but it is Manhattan. You don't see tourist here, but more local people. They do have second which likely for group party. I wish they have a little more standing table for customer to social. It is talk to cute ladies when we all justing around..lol : )

Mark M.

Yelp
If you are from out of town as we are, or if you are a local, you really should make it a point to visit this pub. Plenty of fun, good drinks, friendly staff, and a real Irishman that owns the place. The place is a good time with great food. Street fries are a must. The interior is perfect, spot on. Come here and don't be disappointed. Screens everywhere with every game.
google avatar

Ulrike W.

Yelp
This is my go-to bar for watching ballgames. Great bar food, huge beer menu, fun bartenders. It's a big place, so there's usually seats available. I like that for big games you can make a reservation
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here for lunch before heading uptown for a show. Can't beat the location of this authentic Irish pub as it's literally across the street from Penn Station and MSG, and it's built to handle the crowds that come with that. Why do I say it's an authentic Irish pub? Because they know how to properly pour a damn Guinness! Plenty of TVs at/around the bar to catch whatever games are on, and the menu is solid. Plenty of seasonal beverage specials in addition to an already impressive beer menu... and the food is very tasty. You can't go wrong by stopping here for a bite and a pint.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Delicious and great place to watch a game! My group of four ordered a variety of hot and cold drinks (the Irish coffee is bomb) as well as loaded fries (super tasty! Order an extra side of the avocado ranch). The inside is very festive and decorated for the winter holidays. Taking off 1 star because you have to order through the restaurant's app and it only accepts Apple Pay. If you don't have Apple Pay already, it takes a little while to set up and verify your account before using. Other than that, no complaints!
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Wow Daniel the bartender was amazing the food was pretty good but we always sit at the bar for the interaction he made the best manhattan I've ever had and made us feel more than welcome its all about the experience for us and it could not have been better
google avatar

Lea D.

Yelp
Came here for a private work event and had a blast. For one thing, the space was huge. There were two large areas downstairs and an upstairs area as well! The drinks were delicious and I even tried a couple of their signature cocktails. Aemond (I think?!) was the best! Super fun and charismatic and you could tell he loved his job. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
My sisters and I went here before heading to a show the other night. It is very conveniently located near the shows, MSG etc. We have been here many times before for a quick drink. The service is usually very good. This night it was not. It took a very long time for anyone to come greet us once we were seated, then after we ordered a second waitress came over and said the other waitress moved to another section and we would have to reorder. The drinks took very long to get to our table. Everything we ordered was so salty it was almost inedible. The burrata salad had so much salt on it, it actually looked like glitter. Yuck. The sprouts were better, but again too much salt. Thankfully the beer was good because you can't actually mess that up. I would consider going back, but they need to have better service and cut back on their salt.
