The Best Breakfasts in Denver | Eater Denver

"This cozy, artsy RiNo cafe gathers inspiration from all over the world — Japan, the Eastern Mediterranean, Colorado farms — for a menu as eclectic as could be. Think oyako-don (chicken and eggs over rice); gingerbread sourdough waffles with banana custard, vanilla whipped cream, and chocolate ganache; and a mushroom–herb hummus tartine with pomegranate and pistachio za’atar." - Ruth Tobias

Where to Dine in the RiNo Neighborhood

"In an artsy, loftlike setting, this daytime kitchen serves up equally crafty, eclectic eats. Toast might be topped with ricotta, pear butter, and thyme-oat crumble or herb hummus, sautéed mushrooms, and pistachio za’atar; sandwiches might show Japanese or Middle Eastern influences; and while fresh-baked pastries, coffee cake, and the like are always on offer, Sunday-only doughnuts change weekly — think flavors like raspberry-rose or saffron-honey with orange-blossom custard." - Eater Staff, Ruth Tobias

Google
This was the best unplanned breakfast we had in Denver! We stumbled across Stowaway while looking for breakfast on a Monday morning and damn am I happy we stopped in. The place is super cute with a semi-shaded outdoor patio and large open doors so you can sit inside and get the best of both worlds. The servers were immediately welcoming, the coffee was excellent and it just got better from there as our food arrived. We got the breakfast (Scram) sandwich with ham and avocado and the oyako-don which was so delicious and flavorful! If you’re in town definitely stop in for breakfast—it is worth it!

Google
Everyone working was so kind. Our food was soooo scrumptious! We got the scram sandwich, sourdough waffle with peaches, and the salmon bowl (Iforget the actual name of it sorry). I could eat that salmon bowl everyday for lunch, it was so fresh and filling. I also got an iced latte that I would rate a 3.75 stars. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the Denver area!

I am usually not a brunch girl, or am I? I have been converted, this is the BEST brunch place I ever tried. The place itself is super cute, the service is very quick and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious. I wanted to go there again if it wasn’t closed the next day but this is a MUST. I absolutely loved the scram breakfast sandwich and the strawberry yuzu waffles! The duderino is such a delicious take on espresso martinis. Overall I highly recommend! 1000/10

Google
Our hippie son wanted to come here on our last day in CO. The vibe is Denver funky. The four of us were sat quickly and drinks were ordered. I don't remember what all we ordered but it was really good. The coffee was delicious.

Google
Worth the wait every time. The staff is so welcoming, even when overwhelmed with demand, and gives genuine recommendations. I order the coffee cake every visit and will not share with others. The Colorful Colorado and the Japanese asa-gohan are incredible dishes. Make a reservation to make things easier for everyone.

What a cute breakfast spot in RiNo!!! I really liked their diverse menu items featuring a variety of flavors, especially Japanese cuisine. I can’t wait to return and try more menu items. 🍵Iced matcha with oat milk 🍆🥪 eggplant + halloumi sammie (roasted eggplant + roma tomato, grilled halloumi, tahini sauce, fresh greens + house made giardiniera on toasted ciabatta roll)

Google
Stowaway Kitchen totally lived up to the vibe we were looking for—kind people, great food, and good energy all around. We had the Spring Pea Toast (vegan with mushrooms) and the Colorful Colorado, and both were absolutely delicious—fresh, thoughtful, and beautifully presented. Huge shoutout to Hayden, who was the perfect example of what their shirt stands for. Super friendly, genuine, and made the whole experience even better. Already can’t wait to come back!

Google
I took a friend here for her birthday after reading so many great reviews—and it lived up to the hype! I loved that the menu offered something different from most places in the Denver area, with a focus on Japanese-style breakfast. Everyone was so kind, and our server was wonderful. We shared the cardamom waffle (to die for!), and then I had the Japanese oka gohan—a generous and flavorful dish—while my friend had the oyako don, which was also fresh and delicious. We left completely stuffed but already planning to come back. Definitely make a reservation—it’s popular for a reason!

Yelp
Wonderful place for breakfast! The food was amazing. Excellent menu with great quality of food. They served vegan food and everything was so good, freshly cooked. They have great portions of food. The restaurant was great vibe too and it feels like homey. The setting was so cool. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The drinks were amazing. They served juice and coffee. Great customer service.

Yelp
Our Sunday brunch spot for when we traveled to Denver for the weekend was the Stowaway that allowed us to enjoy some treasures of cuisine that allowed us to embrace synergy. Synergy. The ambiance is bright and artsy with a feel of an art studio with books dressed on some shelves. The cuisine radiates a combination of Asian and American influences that compliment each other very well. You have the kara-a-ge chicken sando that comprises Japanese fried chicken, Jojo's Sriracha mayo, pickle slices, and carrot-ginger slaw on a brioche bun and provide the savory and zesty with some wonderful crunch, while the chocolate-salted donut was complete bliss with the sweet and doughy goodness. The batch brew was very good, which you received a free refill that was quite nice (most places don't do free refills, and I don't think Starbucks does anymore -- at least with cold brew). My wife loved it due to the delightful cocktails and the gluten free options that were enjoyable. We went with our friends who were also from Florida like us and had a blast. This place was magical. Very magical.

Yelp
TLDR: A non-traditional brunch place which will soon be your favorite. Food: Colorful Colorado: Solid A - not as dense as you may think Asa-Gohan: A+ taste as good as it sounds. I would come here again just for this. Vibe: -What you see is what you get. either you're gonna like it by the photos or you're not. What can be better?: Services is a bit on the slower side, but could have been my personal experience. Staff was SUPER nice and food was amazing. Take all your friends here.

Yelp
First time visiting Denver and this place was highly recommended so we decided to try it out! I didn't realize it was Japanese-inspired cuisines, so was even more excited to try being half Japanese. We went Sunday morning Labor Day weekend around 10:30am, so it was pretty crowded. Grab a reservation if you can, otherwise they do take walk-ins. When we arrived they said it would be about an hour wait. So we put our names in and went to explore the Denver Market. Grabbed some drinks at the bar there while waiting. We received a text 30 min later saying our table was ready and walked back over. We were seated at a cozy little table inside. My boyfriend ordered the Bloody Hell Bloody Mary with vodka and I got the Pom Poko. Both cocktails were delicious! The Bloody Mary had a unique savory spiciness that I hadn't tasted before - 100% recommend any BM fan give it a try. For lunch my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Sandwich and I got the Colorful Colorado. Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches we've ever had. SO moist and flavorful! He rated it 10/5 stars! And I had to try the dish named after the state. Really tasty mix of colorful ingredients. Nicely balanced breakfast with perfectly poached eggs. Added avocado. Thank you so much for the amazing brunch!

Yelp
I came here for brunch on a recent trip to Denver. We got there a little before 9:30 and surprisingly there was still a 1 hour wait. There are plenty of shops and murals nearby to wander around in as you wait for your table. The food selection was creative and robust with plenty of vegetarian options. I enjoyed both of the brunch items we tried, but I wish had room to try a donut! The service was very fast and efficient. Overall a solid choice for brunch in Denver, definitely make a reservation.

Yelp
Cute spot that definitely gets busy on the weekends. Take advantage of the reservations available on tock to make sure you have a table. Parking can be a bit challenging but there's spots on the surrounding streets. I loved the little bakery case at the entrance which had a variety of different seasonal baked goods. I'm looking forward to trying the different things they have to offer on my next visit. They also have a full coffee bar with refills on hot and iced coffee available if you're dining in. Service was as expected for a busy brunch place but everyone was super kind. I'd love to come back to try more food but I will say portions for their sandwiches were on the smaller side. Definitely a fan of this spot since they have more "lunch" options during their brunch!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 great tasting and fresh options, including vegan! Coffee was excellent and they have honey or maple syrup to sweeten them up. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which could have been crispier. Service: 5/5 attentive, friendly, and service seemed like a team effort. Ambiance: 5/5 cute place but hard to find from the street bc they only have their name on the door. Go up the accesible ramp and you can peek at their menu posted by the door.

Yelp
Food - got mushroom + green hummus tartine (added poached egg and feta as extra add-ons) and scram sandwich. Scram sandwich was a good basic sandwich; I liked the tomato chutney. The tartine was very good. I enjoyed the mushrooms. The employee hadn't tried this yet, but I'm glad I went for it. The drinks got a bit mixed up, but it taught me that the spicy chai and iced chai latte taste the same. So don't worry too much about choosing between those two. The restaurant was kind enough to comp the drink order due to the confusion. Which brings me to customer service. Service - I thought the employee was very professional in how they handled the drink issue. As a business owner, I would have done the same if I had made a mistake. The drinks and food came out in a timely manner. Ambiance - pretty good. It was a busy weekend morning, but the wait was estimated at 30 minutes, which was enough time for me to decide what I wanted to order when I was sat down. I liked the decor, especially the little plastic animals in the potted plant and on top of the frames toward the front. I would return here in the future to try some of their other menu items, as there are a few more that intrigued me. Despite some confusion and error, they had enough integrity to fix the problem in a satisfactory way, and they were kind to me as a customer. That in turn makes me want to support them.

Yelp
This place is super cute in what I assume is the art district area of downtown Denver. Well decorated and lit. Server was nice in giving recommendations and making sure we're taken care of. The food was ok. I feel like it's missing an oomp factor but it's a solid dish.

Yelp
Had a delightful breakfast here on Friday morning - busy but not full. The oyako-don with spinach had a mix of chicken, eggs, and onion served over rice - a perfect combination of flavors. The scram sandwich also had an excellent combination of flavor with the tomato chutney, ham, scrambled eggs, sriracha mayo on a brioche bun - all the flavors complimented each other perfectly. The waffle by itself is okay, but reaches a new level with the matcha custard creme diplomat. Definitely a fan!

Yelp
The ambiance of this place was nice. Very homey, bright, and felt very clean. Dog friendly too! I do think reservations are preferred but my partner and I just walked in, so fair warning it may not best to just walk in like we did in case they get slammed. The food was quite delicious. The drinks were quite tasty too! The service workers were nice as well but mostly kept to their own, which is nice in my opinion.

Yelp
This place is allocated in the Rino District in a small space but it is worth going because it is delicious!! They have a Japanese inspired type of menu and serve breakfast and lunch. We came on a Monday morning so it wasn't busy at all but I have a feeling this place is busy on the weekends. The best things we got: strawberry and matcha sourdough waffle - definitely get if you are looking for something on the sweeter side!! I also got the Japanese breakfast with smoked salmon and it was perfectly delicious and light with a perfect poached egg!

Yelp
The vibes here are immaculate, if I could come here everyday to peacefully read, I would. Everyone here is always very friendly and welcoming as soon as you step in through the door. We come here every season because we love the food and because I love trying their seasonal sourdough waffle. It slaps everytime. The turmeric latte is delightful, so creamy. And the oyako-don is the always our go to. What a perfect comfort meal.

Ginny G.

Yelp
I loved this place. The food was amazing. I got the duderino drink and it was the perfect combination of boozy and caffeinated. Started off the meal with the banana cream sour dough waffle, absolutely superb. For my main course I had the farro and root bowl. I added an egg and avocado to it as well. So filling and seriously amazing. I would go back again in a heart beat.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is always busy for brunch on the weekends, like be ready to wait in line if you do not have a reservations. But if you are waiting anyways - go to Denver central for some coffee. They have a full coffee bar with some legit pastries here.. But I kinda come here for the Japanese breakfast fusion and some really good eggs with veggies...
google avatar

Jaime J.

Yelp
I made a reservation for a Sunday brunch, I showed up with my group a few minutes early and they had our table ready. The service was also very hospitable, they checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our experience while also giving us enough time in between to enjoy the food and company. I ordered the kara-a-ge chicken sando for the main meal, it was a decent size and I loved every bite. Their chocolate donut with coconut flakes was so damn good too! The inside feels intimate, you're not very far away from the other tables but it also doesn't feel like you're on top of each other. A lovely and unique experience, I definitely would come back if I were to visit Denver again.

Yelp
I've reviewed this one before but I have to leave another. This is one of the best brunch spots in denver. The staff are SO friendly (even if you're dumb and read the opening time wrong lol!). Space is intimate and bright and inviting. Great coffee drinks and pastries. My partner had a cookie and let me have a bite - omg so delectable. I got the seasonal special trout salad this last time and it didn't disappoint. I need to try their whole menu.
google avatar

Brena E.

Yelp
I came here with a group of 5 and we were seated right away. I had the scram and enjoyed it. My friends were lingering a little long and they did tell us they needed the table which was fine. They did separate checks for us which I appreciated.

Yelp
Great breakfast at Stowaway Kitchen! I started with a cappuccino and she had a latte. Both were solid, smooth, robust with nice barista Art. Breakfast followed with a 'colorful Coloradan' for me and a breakfast Sammie for here. Both were delicious and presented well. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Our server engaged in conversations we initiated. Ambiance unique, as a conversion from prior uses. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Stowaway was there for us in our time of need and we loved every second of it. After a long flight and no food in our stomaches despite it feeling like 3PM our time (we came from the East Coast), we were famished and wanting a filling and nourishing brunch. Stowaway gave us that and more. Though the food took awhile to arrive once we ordered, it was well worth the wait. The vibes are great, the staff is super kind and generous, and of course the food is outstanding. We came here at around 1PM on a Saturday. There wasn't much available, but we were able to find a few open seats at one of the longer, communal tables. The space itself is welcoming, with a storefront that opens to the outside giving the spot an open-air feel, greenery, great music, and quirky decor. The brunch menu has a lot to offer so good luck trying to make your choice. As a gluten-free girlie, I was thrilled to see so many options that I could choose from. We both ordered cold brews, and my husband got the waffles with all the fixin's while I got the Colorful Colorado (salt + vinegar smashed potato, Beeler's ham (and/or avocado), pickled radishes, sauteed seasonal greens, asparagus + spicy adobo sauce + two poached eggs). I'm not into ham so I just got the avocado. Let me say, even if the ambiance was terrible here -- and it's not -- this place still would've probably been five stars for my dish alone. It is truly my perfect brunch dish. I am always an eggs for brunch person but I like some veggies as well. The combo of the runny yolk from the poached eggs, the super tasty sauce, and the diced onions just made every ingredient in this dish better. The potatoes were delicious on their own, but in a bit of sauce with those onions they were, yes I'm saying it, chef's kiss. While I did not try my husband's dish, he ate it in about five minutes, which is saying a lot because it usually takes him 45 minutes to eat half of a Sweetgreen salad. We also got some baked goods to go (coffee cake, brownie, and a cookie) which were properly inhaled later.

Yelp
Our first time and we loved it!! Atmosphere is adorable and food was incredibly fresh. We had the colorful colorado and the Japanese breakfast, a chai and gin fizz -- no notes! All were delightful. This will be a spot we bring people when they visit Denver!
google avatar

Kim V.

Yelp
The service at Stowaway is always great and the food comes out quickly. I'm always impressed with the colorful Colorado and I'm so so glad I could bring my gluten free and dairy free guest to enjoy as well
google avatar

Yelp
The stowaway is a really cute brunch spot near downtown denver. We had a bit of a wait so definitely recommend getting there early and putting your name down We ended up ordering the mushroom tartine with pesto sauce and a poached egg. It was very flavorful. The highlight however was the eggplant halloumi sandwich . The homemade cheese and roasted eggplant complemented one another so well and their fresh brioche bread took it to the next level. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the neighborhood
google avatar

Yelp
Really great brunch spot. I would definitely come here again. It's small so I'd recommend reservations. Service was excellent for our group of 6. I had the japanese asa-gohan with seaweed salad and the turmeric chai. Both were delicious. Lots of yummy cocktails as well. Its a bit pricey but I highly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.

Yelp
came on a saturday after stopping by the city park farmers market that morning around 1130a, and waited for ~45 mins for a table for 2. the food took a bit, but the quality was worth it! i got the colorful colorado, and the eggs were perfectly soft and runny (see egg porn photo for reference), which was a great balance between the crispy smashed potatoes underneath. i got mine with ham, which was the default, but i think i'll get the avocado instead next time to make the dish a bit creamier and less salty/heavy. the japanese asa-gohan was also great, filling without it being too heavy. the perfect balance with the crunchy veggies as well. would definitely come back to try their other dishes as well!

Yelp
Wildly unimpressed with all the the FOH staff. The hostess was passive, condescending and non-communicative. The server, Jess, was apparently too cool for her job apparently. It took 15 minutes to be greeted as if we were cramping their style. Every interaction afterward was snarky and short. The whole FOH staff is horrible about customer service let alone communication. Classic unwelcoming pretentious hipster vibes. Food was nothing to write home about. One small turnip quarterd, 3 half inch pieces of a large carrot, some bits of greens, and beet sprouts. That on top of a heaping mound of grains. Basically you're buying maybe $1 worth of grain for $17 because that's the hip thing to do apparently. Save yourself the trouble and eat at home. Yet another pretentious hipster spot afraid of salt. Jess, try retail.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
What a great experience. Her Bloody Mary and my Crooked Stave IPA were great. Atmosphere was fantastic and they put us right by the street for early morning people-watching. It filled up FAST. They have fresh-made pastries at the door for that type of folks. I had the Oyako and she had the Japanese Asa and they were both fantastic. Mary was our server, and she was flawless. Pics below of the food. We sat by a garage door which I assume they open during the spring and summer. In the heart of the city, so plenty to do after. If a hot sauce person, ask for the local Sriracha sauce. What a great vibe here, folks. Definitely recommend, and see you there.

Yelp
I had the most mesmerizing time at Stowaway Kitchen! Tasha was great with service. I had the absolute best dish, the Colorful Colorado. I will be back to try more!

Yelp
I came here for breakfast recently, and I was blown away! The Stowaway Kitchen is a global inspired coffee shop/ brunch spot. Everything we had was perfection! We order the black sesame and blueberry waffle, as well as oyako-don. I'm not much of a sweet person, but I'm very glad I got the waffle. It is a sourdough waffle with real maple syrup and it tasted so fresh!! My dining partner got the oyako-don which is chicken and egg over rice. It was seasoned perfectly. I cannot stop thinking about the coffee cake we ordered for dessert. Don't skip getting a pastry! Their pastries are fire!! The menu clearly marks vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. This is a good place to get breakfast for people with a variety of dietary restrictions. I almost forgot to talk about the drinks! You can day drink here, which is not always the case with breakfast spots. They have breakfast cocktails, wine, and beer. The duderino was my favorite. It's espresso, vodka, and oatmilk.
google avatar

Jessyca C.

Yelp
This was in the downtown Denver area and it was really nice. The location was great when we left, we were able to just continue down the street and shop at their open market. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive, and really helped with suggestions considering this was a new type of restaurant for us all. I really enjoyed the waffle. I wasn't really a fan of the bowl because I didn't feel like it had enough Flavors the rice was also overcooked so it was a little mushy. But the waffle was great.
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Make a reservation! Minimal indoor and outdoor seating. Food All the food looked great and the entire table liked theirs. I had the halloumiu and eggplant sandwich as it came recommended from a friend. The peppers on it are spicy, so if you don't like spice, ask them to take those off! Service Service was a bit slow, but we were catching up with friends, so we were cool with it.
google avatar

Jenni W.

Yelp
Super busy on weekends- recommend getting a reservation. Hostess was more than pleasant. Server started strong but dwindled a bit towards the end (looks like prob due to the business of the place overall). Didn't love the batch coffee (light roast with high acidity) but americano was a great alternative for my taste. The food was all presented in a picturesque manner. Great harmony of flavors and beautifully crafted. Took a pastry to-go (the cashew brownie) but haven't eaten yet to comment. Overall would come here again!
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
Stowaway was definitely a good breakfast/brunch pick on our part. We didn't make reservations, and we were able to be seated within less than 30 minutes after being placed on the waitlist on a Saturday morning. I ordered their Japanese asa-Gohan, the coffee cake, and the plum almonds and meringue waffle. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered. The sourdough waffle was really good with all the toppings. It was so light and soft. The coffee cake was really great as well, I liked the crunch bits on top of the cake. The Japanese asa-Gohan was truly the best. The salmon was well seasoned, and everything in the meal really came together. My egg was poached how I really liked it, runny. The staff were amazing, the restaurant was really clean as well.
google avatar

Nadya A.

Yelp
This restaurant is cute and perfect for a nice brunch with friends! The food was good, service was relatively fast and the prices were reasonable. I got the porridge and it was DELICIOUS, very fresh and light, but with a nice added sweetness from the prunes. I definitely recommend getting this! The chicken sandwich and the salmon bowl also looked very yummy.
google avatar

Marina H.

Yelp
I happened to drive by this venue the other morning. It was bustling with brunch goers but I did not see a sign displaying the name of this place I had yet to go. My friend asked me to breakfast the following day, chose the place, and when I arrived, I was delighted to find, stowed away in a nondescript building I newly knew, this amazing kitchen! The coffee flowed all meal while we dined on plates of vibrant ingredients. Complete with the perfect amount of charm and an attentive, friendly staff, I will be recommending this hidden gem, but to only those who would appreciate the warm simplicity and fresh bites. Some places are meant to remain hidden to the brunch masses :)
google avatar

Maddie M.

Yelp
This place has easily become my favorite place in all of Denver. I take every person who visits me here to show them what's up with the Denver food scene! Every dish is so unique and I love the paired drinks with each dish, plus the carefully crafted donuts on sundays are just simply the best! Make a reservation so you don't miss out!
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love it here. All the food is delicious, inspired, and professionally made. The baristas are knowledgeable and talented. the interior is super cool and eclectic with interesting art and vintage pieces. I would come here every day if I could!
google avatar

Janna L.

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. I had the Colorful Colorado with ham and avocado. Only note is the strawberry milk is pretty small
google avatar

Dillon T.

Yelp
This place is so good I went two days in a row! I got the oyako don both times and the second time I get extra broth on the side because it is THAT good. Everything here looks and tastes phenomenal. I'd also recommend the colorful Colorado and the chicken kaarage sandie. The coffee hits too. Really cool vibe inside in a smallish space, with some outdoor seating. The first day I showed up right at 8am and there were only a few other patrons and now issues, the second day we went around 11 and it was pretty busy. Not a long wait to get seated, but the food took quite a while to come out and a couple of the orders were wrong. However, they have a small crew handling a large demand. I'd definitely go, just go early.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
This is a really nice and cozy spot in the heart of RiNo. They have an awesome selection of pastries and single origin coffee. They have a ton of sea food options and some delicious vegan menu items. We ordered the Colorful Colorado (potatoes, asparagus, and eggs) and Asa-Gohan (salmon, avocado, and eggs). Aside from that, I loved their Ethiopian hand-poured coffee, but that's just because I love any Ethiopian coffee lol. The only reason I'm leaving this place with a 3 star is because of their rather slow service. Otherwise the food was a 4. We'd happily come back perhaps at an earlier time when it's not as busy with hope of a better service.
google avatar

Yelp
Stowaway Kitchen is such a gem! The restaurant itself is very trendy and sometimes trendy can overtake quality of food...but not here! I ordered a decaf maple latte and it came out so pretty and was also delicious! The coffee was very pleasant and smooth, and not too sweet. I would definitely order it again. I also ordered the scram breakfast sandwich with avocado (veggie style) and without sriracha mayo. This sandwich, while very simple in ingredients (eggs, avo, tomato chutney, some greens, a toasty brioche bun), was very flavorful. It didn't even need the mayo, and I can't even imagine how much more flavorful it would've been with it! As a plus, the presentation was beautiful. There is a lot of love put into every meal here.

Yelp
We had a party of 4 at 11:15 am on Friday, 9/30/22. They said it would be 45 minutes of longer of a wait, and it ended up being a little over an hour. Wasn't their fault - two tables took their sweet time. The service was good, but it did take a while to get our food. I would definitely get there earlier to hopefully avoid the long wait. Here's what I tried: - Scram Sandwich (Vegetarian option, $12): Super good!! Everything - from the scrambled eggs, to the tomato chutney, to the sriracha mayo, to the brioche bun - was delicious. Just wish it had come with a little side! - Colorful Colorado ($16): My husband really enjoyed this! It had potatoes, veggies, and eggs - all the food groups you need for brunch. My cousin got the Oyako-don ($14) and he said it didn't have as much flavor as he would've wanted. My other cousin got the Eggplant-Halloumi Sami ($16) and said it was fantastic. Note that it did have pickled jalapeños on it. I would definitely go back and try the Eggplant-Halloumi Sami!

Yelp
Great second meal here in Denver for the continued birthday celebrations. 5 stars, as per my partner's review. This is one of the very very few places (count 'em on one hand) where his tastebuds were awakened. The coffee was good, thankfully no burnt/overroasted taste, and one free refill to boot. Unfortunately, they were out of the strawberry milk that I wanted to try. After our meal from the night before, we wanted something lighter, and this was just right. We shared the japanese asa-gohan and the smoked trout salad. The salmon in the asa-gohan was soft, well cooked and well seasoned. The braised rhubarb in the salad was just as much of a flavor bomb as the trout itself, really good combo on the sweet, slightly tart, and salty. We added a buttered sourdough, and that was so yum. Good amount of butter, crunchy/crusty bread, with a good chew. Service was chill and courteous. I now know what neighborhood I need to stay in for my next Denver visit.

Yelp
This was our best dining experience in Denver! Great food, excellent service, and a warm eclectic ambiance. They serve coffee by "Color" and even the standard cup of coffee was exceptional. Also some great Vegan and Gluten-free baked goods -- the oat coffee cake was delicious!

Yelp
Service was sublime. Food was just alright and a little expensive in my opinion. It lacked soul or character. But I would go back for the atmosphere, yummy coffee, and great service.

Yelp
Hidden within the art district of Denver, this little gem features plates that aren't of the average norm. When you first walk in you are greated by artistic decor, warm coffee smells, and some pastries that make your tastebuds drool. The menu causes your head to cock to the side unsure if the combos work but don't doubt these food creations, they are paired to perfection! My husband enjoyed a salty caramel cookie while I devoured a hatch green Chile scone paired with some delicious coffee and chai tea. Once we let those starters settle we moved on to our main courses. The hubs had a delicious plate called 'colorful Colorado' which dazzled his palate. Pretty sure the radishes were his favorite part . I savored every bite of the scram sandwich and what a treat that was. Don't let this place go un-tasted friends! Make a reservation and give it a go!

Yelp
Do I recommend this place? Yes, yes, and yes. This place offers a different type of breakfast, which is what captivated me. The photos online were perfect and gave a good visual. This was the first I have seen photos and felt confident it would be a good spot. First off we had a slice of coffee cake and that started the day right. Talk about MOIST and tasty. We were a party of three so we proceeded to sample the so-rough dough waffle and OMG. This is my new fave type of waffle. For actual meal I got the japense asa ghu. It comes with white rice, avocado, salmon, seaweed , purple cabbage and an egg. The flavors came together so well. It was well balanced and healthy but with flavor. The chai latte was delicious as well. We did not have one bad thing at this spot. Definitely check it out. The spot is also clean and nice. Great big windows with great lighting and plenty of plants. Give old farm house converted to restaurant vibe. I also recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. We did get lucky and showed up (walk in) about 930/10 and had a 30 minute wait. It was even shorter than 30 minutes.

Yelp
First time here in several years. They can be hard to find because the only signage is the front door. No other signage. But the atmosphere and food quality is top notch and worth visiting. Their menu offers creative breakfast & lunch items with American & Japanese ingredients. They have a full bar with coffee, espresso, chai/teas, beer, wine, cocktails and sake. I started with their Batch Brew Stella blend coffee (free refill). It was served in a stack with creamer on top (see photo). My breakfast choice was Black Rice porridge, made with Anson Mills black rice, banana porridge, coconut milk, mango, passionfriut, all topped with spiced coconut flakes. Very good. I then had their daily coffee cake. Very nice with walnuts. Hayden B was an excellent & attentive server. I will be back soon, maybe for lunch. They have 8 tables, 3 picnic table booths and a community table.

Yelp
Asian inspired brunch- love the concept. Wait was over 1 hour but everything was delicious. The colorful Colorado has all the elements you want for breakfast- one suggestion is to offer other protein options besides ham (I was really craving bacon but this was not an option on the menu). Delightful interior as well.
