The Best Bars in Dallas

"The best reason to visit this dive bar is the beer list, which includes options drinkers won’t find anywhere else in the city paired with expert guidance to explore it. That said, they do have a lot of cocktails and spirits, so call anything, and they can probably do it. Oh, and the playlist is always on point, although you might have to dodge holes in the roof if it’s raining. This place is both a vibe and an institution. There is parking around the back, in the lot next door, and sometimes you can find some street parking." - Courtney E. Smith, Kevin Gray

"A neighborhood joint at its finest. If you and a friend want to chill, this is the place to be. It has plenty of space inside and out to catch up. And the food and booze won't disappoint. Where to Watch Beto O’Rourke and Ted Cruz Face Off in Dallas - Eater Dallas

"This might be the ground zero for Beto supporters. Strangeways’ delicious torta, “mom’s tamales,” or a sandwich smothered in cheese and bacon is the perfect accompaniment to “hear Beto lay out his vision for Texas on the national stage.” Don’t forget a side of yucca fries or elotes and a cold draft beer, of course." - Alaena Hostetter

Google
Hit the jackpot finding this place. The owner Eric made us feel right at home. His beer selection is unique and sooo good. Not to mention the whiskey and gin selection. Every time I’m in town I’ll definitely be hitting this place up. If you go by, and have the opportunity to meet Eric, tell him Bridget said hi. Cheers!!!

Google
Great people! Great food! Great beer! Great atmosphere! I’m so glad to have found this gem of a bar. The Mexican street corn, burger, and Better BLT are on point. Rosie made a mean old fashioned even though she said it was basic, probably one of the best I’ve had. If you’re in the Eastish Dallas area you must stop by and say hello to Rosie and Strangeways special little guests.

Google
I came from the coastal area to Dallas 4 months ago and since I been in Dallas this is the best lil spot I have ever been to in the Texas state I travels 8 different cities before came heee and when I met ERIC he was a bad ass guy man he listens to the next man and they took care of me here god bless this lil place and ERIC take care I’m on my new journey to the next place

Google
This place is pretty cool on Saturday night. Usually a good DJ if you’re looking for a nice Saturday night. The beer menu is low key good they have some hidden gems on that menu.

Google
Rosie in the bar was so professional and friendly. I work in the industry and wanted to watch the game. I had just left a dead bar where 4 people behind the bar ignored me because i suppose they need you to speak up if you want something as standard as a menu or a water. Strangeways had the game on, a great vibe, a wonderful one woman show named rosie, and a terrific beer selection. This was my first time here but it wont be my last

Google
The place to go to for your craft beer desires! Strangeways has been a staple in the Dallas scene for years and was a pioneer for craft beer. They have you covered if you love sours, belgians, stouts, ipas and everything in between!

Google
I love this spot. I might be bias being it’s across the street from where I work. Yet!! Without that added bonus; I would still stop here. Service from Rosie & Eric is incredible. They make you feel like family. The menu is killer!! I will always order & crave the veggie tamale (not something always seen on a menu). Total bonus is sometimes they host other chefs or a food truck. Challenging the area & making it so much fun!!! Always a fun experience & sometimes with fomo. They open at 4, everyday of the week!!! Please stop in!

Google
Overrated place! I came here because I heard the food, specifically the burger was amazing. Unfortunately it wasn’t. It took them 40 min to prepare a plain and simple bacon cheeseburger 🤦🏽‍♂️. The bartender was really nice , thats why im giving 2 stars instead 0 but i still dont understand how hard would be to prepare a really mediocre burger. I know a couple better options nearby with a better service

Mark C.

Yelp
Excellent tamales and a large beer selection- what more do you need? Sat outside and watched the world go by!

Yelp
Cool hole in the wall. Food is great for a bar, especially the burgers and fries. Cheese board is good, too. Found the service friendly and helpful. Barrel week (barrel aged beers) is a great time to visit!

Yelp
Maybe I'm biased because I'm a Smiths fan, but Strangeways is the BEST! Great beer menu, solid cocktails, wonderful service, lots of seating, good parking on-site and around the building, and GREAT music! Perfect neighborhood bar, can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Shhhh!!! They are still open! They are legally fighting to stay open. I just had a dream pour of Bourbon County 23. Come show your support!

Yelp
Friendly neighborhood bar, with some unusual figurines and artwork adorning the walls. They stock a lot of interesting beers! The liquor selection is pretty good, although there is no citrus vodka. House-drinks are limited, but they can mix any standard drink. The only thing preventing it from feeling like a dive-bar is the bright lighting and the cavernous space - like a community center with liquor.

Yelp
So I came with my husband. He drank the beer and I had the pop. They have coke on tap! Yeah! I didn't think they would have food besides the usual bar food. Ok I didn't look up what they may have. I admit it. Came here because my husband wanted to. Oh did I luck out!!! Such a good burger! It was dead to my liking AND it didn't soak the bun!!! The fries were crisp and seasoned but not over salted. Their cheese board is cheesetastic too! Perfectly ripe fruit and nicely layed out on the board. And they put honey on top of the grainy mustard. SO good! A nice place to hang to eat and drink whatever you like. Oh and don't forget to enjoy Kaws.

Yelp
One of my favorite neighborhood bars. The owners and bartenders are the best. They are wonderful. Who would've thought to find a Smiths bar in Dallas. This is an SI bar. Genuine people. I love that people don't know about it. Everyone that goes here is amazing and a breath of fresh air from other spots in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Myfirst time in here and just wanted a cold beer and a place to reflect over the day. I wasn't expecting much. I parked in back and there was plenty of room and well lit. The front porch has a very large seating area with a sprinkling of plants that really help pull you away from the fact you are right next to a busy East Dallas street. The front door is really cool and reminds me of the old wooden doors I've seen in middle age Southern European narrow streets. I stepped in to a warmly lit large brick walled room with stacks of kegs of various shapes and sizes along some of the walls. Lots of high tables and some lower ones in conversation pits along one wall. The partially exposed roof underside gives it an old feel and reminded me of places in Mexico, Italy and Spain. There is art work and various objects on the wall that made me want to study each one, but I'll do that another time. It is a quiet place and exactly what I was hoping to find. The background music is just at the right level. As there were only a few at the bar, I opted to sit there. Facing me was a wall of interesting looking large eyed figurines on shadow box shelves and a substantial offering of stronger drinks. To the side is a large chalk board showing the beers on tap organized by type. I saw the Lakewood Molle Temptress and knew that was the right beer for the moment and my mood. The beer was thick, dark, smooth and absolutely a sipping beer. It gave me time to study the bar, the offerings, the menu and the patrons coming and going. It also gave me time to transition from an insane work day. The wall with the Smith album covers I found interesting but not nearly as much as the figurines facing me. The background music was modern techno-ish and was very enjoyable. The group to my left were 20-somethings enjoying the night out and asking for lots of drink input from the bar tender who acted as a trusty advisor. The bar tender, she seems very confident and knowledgeable, and I look forward to talking with her in the future. The food menu, with a few Mexican items looked very interesting and I'll have to come back to try it.

Yelp
The beers are great but the food is CRAZY for a bar! $8 for goat cheese croquettes that could have come from any of the city's finest restaurants. We stopped in for sour week and had our fill of $30, 5-beer sour flights. I'm a sours fan always looking for new beers to try so this is money well spent. If I could improve one thing it would be service. We sat at a table for like 10 minutes and I guess they weren't doing table orders so we went to the bar. Then when we wanted to sit outside we were left to carefully maneuver out the door with 2 waters and 10 cups of beer by ourselves. But not a big deal, fantastic bar, definitely recommend!

Yelp
After about 6 beers down and neck deep in an smackdown arm wrestling match against a homeless man that I challenged from the street as I caught him walking by, I realized "Hey This Bar Is Not THat Bad". I should probably write a cool Yelp review and talk about how soft those wood benches can be when you forgot where you parked and lose your phone so you sleep in the outside patio in between the back bench tucked away while no one notices you there. Those $5 Pizzas from the dumpster that the Dominoes guy brings by HIT!!!!

Yelp
Such a cool hole in the wall bar! They have a pretty big and open indoor area and a smaller patio area. They also have a decent selection of draft beers. Awesome place to unwind, have a few beers, and kick it with some peeps!!!

Brett B.

Yelp
Fantastic beer. Very knowledgeable staff. Great vibes, super cool spot. 100% recommend.

Yelp
Fire spot with awesome drinks. That local feel & a great place to chill with the homies

Yelp
My favorite place! Great food and the best old fashioned in Dallas. Sometimes they will have live music or DJs.

Yelp
We had this place recommended to us and were kind of underwhelmed. 3 stars for a cool atmosphere and a great beer selection, but everything took forever since I think there was only one person working there. The food was also pretty bad- our fries were literally raw potato in the middle. We'll come back, but only for the beer next time!
google avatar

Kanika G.

Yelp
Ha! It is so funny! Why did I even chose this place!! Neighborhood is pretty mundane and gangsta types. There was no one to serve if you are not sitting at the bar. Draft beer was served at room temperature. I wouldn't suggest this place even for a sunny Sunday drink!
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I enjoyed Strangeways. Cool decorations and nice location. Better to Uber to bc parking is limited. A lot of good beer choices and a decent cocktail menu. We had the cheese board and I tried for the first time honey put directly on top of the ground mustard.. so delicious. I recommend this place for sure!
google avatar

Brian Q.

Yelp
I was super impressed with the selection of non-local draft beers here. At least half I haven't seen anywhere else in town. The bartender was able to give a detailed taste profile for all the ones I inquired about, but tasting is believing. Beer prices are par for Henderson area so expect to pay $7+ per. The bar has a mellow vibe with a bunch of odd little dolls/statues adoring the wall. They do have a small patio out front, but there isn't anything interesting to look at besides the Mexican market across the street. The small food menu looked respectable but I didn't try any of it. Pros: Massive selection of non-local craft beers. Cons: Parking lot is tiny so you have to park at the market across the street.

Yelp
Solid little bar on Fitzhugh. Great patio space and divey on the inside. Large selection of beer and pretty good for whiskey too. Bartenders are nice and make it feel like a neighborhood spot.

S J.

Yelp
Horrible service, drinks were good when we got them. Owner works as staff, and the non-recognized music is not able to be changed. It took 15 mins to get water. If you are looking for a place to have a good time, sing to songs you recognize, and just have a great time, this is far from your goal. You will be blasted with grunge music you can understand, while yelling at your colleagues and waiting generations to be served. This place was recommended, and We would have been better off staying at home. Will not go back. This was like going to a club and the DJ played what he wanted; without regard for if the dance floor was cleared.
google avatar

Yelp
Hole in the wall kind of place... I had passed by it before and never tried. Had the Sammy and Mexican corn and a couple crafts. Sammy was lacking taste but the corn was not bad.. Ok place if you are trying to sample some crafts.. but not somewhere I would come on a regular.

Yelp
Cool bar in a slightly removed area. Great beers, knowledge bartender and kickass fries. Beware the parking situation (park at the beauty place nearby), but it's still definitely worth the visit.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Jose is super cool, kind, and knowledgeable. My friend and I really enjoyed talking with him and the cocktails he made. Really terrific beer selection. 41 beers on tap. Great variety.
google avatar

Kyle K.

Yelp
Best beer bar in Dallas. Great staff, even Eric lol. Yes, service can bog down when it gets crowded, but if you get stressed about that you might be in the wrong place anyway. The tap list is always amazing and their special events/weeks are killer. And don't overlook the liquor selection. A very well curated selection of scotches, gins, and tequilas/mezcals. How did I almost not even mention the food? It's sneaky good. The torta is bomb and the burger will cure what ails you.

Yelp
Strangeways is easy to miss (at least for me) even though it is located off of 75. It's probably because I always drive past it on my way to Greenville. I first came here for a barrel-aged beer event and was impressed with their selection. (Be sure to keep an eye out for this event, because their lineup was great.) Ever since then, Strangeways is my go-to bar for when I want to relax and enjoy a drink. In particular, I like Strangeways because of their beer selection and chill environment. There's about 40ish beers on tap.I really like the variety and selection of breweries they curate, so I every time I come I feel like I am trying something new. They have a food menu with bar bites like yucca fries and cheese board. And while the view isn't the best, there's also an outside area. The parking situation is okay. There's a lot right behind it but it's limited. It's not an issue if you don't go during peak drinking hours. All-in-all, Strangeways is a no-frills kind of a place and a great choice if you want a casual environment with a good beer selection.

Yelp
I came for great craft beer, I saw great craft beer, I was conquered by great craft beer. No, the staff are not that friendly. No, you are never quite sure they heard your ordered and/or will do anything to fulfill it until it gets plopped in front of you. But the craft beers are awesome, the atmosphere is awesome, the patio is awesome and if the hipster vibe could be toned down from 11 to only 9 or 10, it would be amazing. The food delivered to the people on both sides of us at the bar looked fantastic, especially the elotes. Next trip there I will order food and see whether it gets delivered to me or not. I'm guessing so, albeit without a smile, and it will be delicious.

Yelp
I love this place! All the Fernets! It's such a unique spot, with genuine service! The Czech Fernet is my personal favorite.

Yelp
I went back to Strangeways yesterday with my bf for an early dinner, and now am certain that this will be my new haunt. I wanted to wait for a review update until after I got to sample the food, and it was absolutely marvelous. I chose the Mozz and Chicken Sammy, which was toasted ciabatta bread, grilled Italian seasoned chicken, Mozzarella cheese, tomato, and fresh basil. Just to be adventurous, I ordered the elote as a side (corn, chipotle mayo, cotija cheese, cayenne pepper, and lime wedges). I typically do not have good experiences with grilled chicken sandwiches. I tend to stay away from them because every time I order one anyplace, the hunk of chicken is so thick that it renders the bread useless, and then I make a mess trying to eat it. Strangeways has finally given me a chicken sandwich I can eat! The chicken is just the right size for the bread, which is warm, toasted well, and de-lish! I can't stress how much I enjoyed eating this sandwich. The basil tasted fresh, as did the tomatoes, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The corn was spicy, but super flavorful. I had to bump this one up to 5 stars...what a hidden gem this place has turned out to be! Great (and unique) food menu, great selection of beer, and a chill atmosphere. Love it!

Yelp
This is the perfect place to frequent. Great patio, lovely staff, wide selection of good beer, and the food is amazing. Order the BLT if you like goat cheese; you'll never be the same. They always play good music here too- the Knife, Discovery, The Cure... I love it. Also, the regulars are really cool too. These two cute brunettes that sit at the bar are hilarious and so nice. Somebody should be buying these girls a drink!
google avatar

Gill S.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, especially since they actually make good sandwiches. But this is probably a rare case where the atmosphere, service, prices, (and everything else really) turns me off. Walking in, it has such a strange atmosphere (and not in a good way). There is more floor space than there are tables. The brick walls and concrete give off this industrial vibe, yet the yellow painted walls say something else. there is a random corner of odd knick knacks. The outside is huge but doesn't look very inviting. There is no way I could fully describe the vibe this place gives off other than visiting it. Service wise, its terrible. They dont greet you. They dont offer you menus. You have to go to the bartender and do everything yourself. Even then, he gives this attitude like you ruined his concentration. A flight of beers for five 5 ounces is 20 dollars. Thats super steep, considering this isn't even downtown. They have quite a selection. but I could go somewhere else easily and pay less. The sandwiches are pretty good (think knuckle sandwich company in size and flavor). The corn is straight slop. Their "elote" is corn from a can, drenched in spices and mayo. No soul, no flavor. Overall, I doubt I would come back, unless someone truly insist on being here. I would order a sandwich, but thats about it.

Yelp
Come'on Dallas, lets get more places like this in your rolodex. Strangeways is a great, divey bar with an excellent beer selection. They have a young, but dynamic staff that isn't super friendly, but can get shit done during the crowded, Saturday nights. I'd prefer a fast staff over a charming one, any day. The dark, mostly blank, inside is decorated by it's colorful clientele and not with cheesy pictures or paint colors. Strangeways attracts, well, the strange. It's a great Dallas bar that feels young, hip af, and easy. A far cry from the downtown chaos I accidentally stumble upon earlier in the night. Very cool Strangeways, very cool.

Chris P.

Yelp
The beer list is always top notch. 2 issues: This is the kind of bar where you play the guessing game, you never know what your tab is going to be. After having a non barrel aged Prairie and a Tupps stout my tab was over $20+. They dont have prices up on their board and on their tap list, so be prepared. 2nd: Do they even clean their tap lines? JK Lemon lime Prominence isnt suppose to taste like corriander. This use to be my go to place in East Dallas, seems to have just gone down hill. The owner is notorious for being a douche to patrons. Youll be lucky to get service from any of the guys who work there.
google avatar

Grix P.

Yelp
Strangeways is an awesome place to hang out with friends. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the music is fantastic, very low key but very cool. Nothing like those annoying bars where the music is so loud that you can't have a conversation. They have about 40 beers on Tap and a delicious menu. I am very happy about the fact that their beers are not what you usually find in every bar in town, there are much better. I ordered the grilled cheese with fries and the elote. All these things are great! Next time I will order the Goat cheese croquettes and the Fried Hominy, my friend is a big fan of both. The only reason why they don't get the 5 stars is because the bartender was kind of rude.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little "hole in-the-wall" kind of joint. Our bar tender was Rosie, who we came to find out is the owners sister. Beer selection was GREAT. Good selection was alright and the servings were okay, hence the 3 out 5. They play alternative type music (more hipster) which I enjoy, but I know others don't. Personally, I had the cheese tray to start (good variety) and then the tamales with the elote corn. Tamales weren't as filling as I'd hoped and the elote was very Parmesan-rich and hard to eat more than half of it. Good place to come if you're here for work or looking for something different!
google avatar

Yelp
Maybe being generous here, but the folks are so nice. Dropped in for Sour Power Week. The sour beer selection was a awesome. I've been chasing Ducato's My Blueberry Nightmare for well over a year. It was just as sour and powerful as I'd hoped. Any sour beer fan who misses this is missing out. This review isn't about the beer, though. We also had a couple sandwiches: Better BLT, The Mozz, and the torta. All serviceable, but it was something of a battle to actually place the order. Once it was finally placed, the guy who took my order didn't pause before taking off. Thus, he didn't know I was outside or accept my order for another delicious sour. It's also worth mentioning that the fries and homemade potato chips were way over seasoned. The fries could be dealt with by shaking off the seasoning. The weird and unadvertised garlic/truffle oil junk on the chips made them inedible. Bleh.

Yelp
It pains me to write this because this was one of my favorite places, but a group of us showed up for the 5th anniversary party and it was a complete train wreck. It sounded like a great idea especially since they paired it with a Ballast Point Brewery take over, but the places was completely unprepared for this. The positives were the place looked good, added some nice decorations. Ballast Point did a great job with the taps and were very friendly with the customers. After those two points, nothing else was really positive. Some smaller issues that were not deal breakers were no flights and they decided not to tap all beers on the provided Ballast Point list. As much as I wanted to try more of the beers by trying a flight or two I understood why it wasn't a good idea with maybe a large number of people coming. The reason they gave was the beers were too foamy not the large crowd number, which telling the customer beers are really foamy is not a good thing. Alos Ballast Point has tons of IPA's so if you are not a beer fan this might not be the best event for you. They did have a California Amber on their list so my non beer nerds friends had something to drink. When one friend went up to order it, they were told it would not really sell so they did not tap it even though it was on list. Is that really a good business practice? The deal breaker was how bad the service was. You have your 5th anniversary and popular beer take over on the same night, you might want to get more than 3 or 4 people working. I knew it was going to be a bad night when I got there around 7, there were about 15 people in the bar and the bartender got my order wrong. They took the order and came back 5 minutes later empty handed and said I am sorry I forgot what you ordered. Around 830ish the place was so packed that it was taking 25 minutes to get a beer. It has been a long time where I saw people at an event getting really angry. One random guys next to me was yelling does it really take 15 minutes to get a glass of water. Went to order my last beer of the night and get my check, it took 25 minutes for it to get there. When it came my check was wrong, it had two beers on there that were not mine. My choices where to wait there another half hour to get this fixed or bite the bullet and pay for money for stuff I didn't ordered. Just so I could leave the place I paid for beers that were not mine. Another friend asked to tab out and the bartender never came back at all with it. He had to go to a completely different bar tender to close out, which in total took around 40 minutes. We had 10 people in our group and if I had to guess about 75% of the people will not be back there ever again. And from the other groups of people around us last night, they will not be back as well. LIke I said above this event was a train wreck, which sucked because many people were looking forward to it. I am guessing over time I might give this place a shot again because it used to be one of my favorites, but it will not be anytime soon. I am not a yelper but i have to sign up to voice my displeasure. What should of be a great night, did not turn out that way. Vinnie

Yelp
Very chill, just right to relax and chat. The bartender was very nice and helped me figure out what I wanted. I brew my own beer sometimes so I'm picky. Nice place!

Yelp
I recently moved into the neighborhood, and heard about this place from a neighbor. So happy to meet Rosie. They have a great selection of 40+ craft beers on tap. Rosie is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I haven't tried the food selection yet, that will be next. Love the feel of this dive bar, and how friendly all the patrons are as well. Plan to be a regular:)

Yelp
I cannot say enough about how much I love this place. Perfect atmosphere. Best selection of beer in Dallas and great food to go with it. If you want a mixed drink, they do that well too.

Yelp
This is, without question, my new favorite hangout in Dallas. The staff are incredibly amazing. We got there on Sunday right at 4 and thought maybe it wasn't going to open that day. We were just about to ride away when the bartender asked if we wanted to come inside. So generous of him to bring us in when he hadn't even opened! Not to mention, he had us bring our bikes inside for safe keeping. That has never happened to me before. So generous. The beer selection here is incredible. I had one stout and two porters and loved every one of them. My fiance also had two different selections and raved about them. This is certainly a gastropub, so the menu is full of fantastic options for appetizers or meals. We had the goat cheese croquettes with some red onions, strawberry garnish, and a reduction sauce. I can't even describe to you how fantastic they were. Our friends also had the croquettes and raved about them, as well as the yucca fries. We went in for the 49er's v Packers game and had no issue getting the TV's turned on to the game. The music in the place is fantastic and eclectic with a heavy dose (which I love) of 80's punk and pop and modern alternative tunes. The music isn't too loud for conversation, and the tables are big enougy to teach friends how to play euchre. Or any other card game one might fancy. We stayed at the bar for over 4 hours and had an absolute blast. We didn't get dinner there, but I will tell you now, that grilled cheese is on my hit list in the very near future. We will be back to Strangeways again and again. Thank you for an amazing Sunday Funday!

Yelp
Skip Deep Ellum and head here instead! Rad bar without the pretentiousness of the other "hip" area. My boyfriend and I were visiting from Los Angeles and I'm always shocked when I see more hipsters in Dallas than I do at home. Regardless of the scene, this place has a great beer selection! We both got a flight and the bartender was really helpful in helping us choose. There were a few people out on the patio, but we were the only people inside on a Saturday afternoon, so we had great service. I was really surprised by the food menu here as well. It was a small selection, but I had the Elote and my boyfriend had the caprese stack and both were REALLY good. The boyfriend is a fan of Sour Beer, so he was in heaven with their selection here. If I was local, I would definitely make this a frequent stop!

Yelp
Great beer selection, food, music and outside patio. Wish they would staff one or two more bartenders as it can take a while to get a drink sometime. Other than that it's pretty much perfect!

Yelp
I go to this place for the tamales and elote! It's delish! Would highly recommend for a chill place to hang out and away from the typical crowd.

Yelp
The bartender actually pissed me off. Felt like we are about to fight. Was talking shit about his own job then proceeded to tell me about how I was giving him a f'ing attitude. Done with this place. Doesn't even have decent signage.

Yelp
The petulant, ad hominem attacks from Eric Sanchez, Strangeways owner, are even more laughable when he's also insulting the other person's intelligence. But I guess I should expect an ironically illogical response from a bar owner that sells 'craft' stale beer. When I asked Eric for a beer recommendation, he said "he hadn't tried any of them," which not only explains why he wouldn't see a problem with serving flat foamy runoff, but also explains why he can only dismiss my complaint with insults. He had the same response to other people complaining about stale beer, which leads me to believe he doesn't ever try any of the beers and just doesn't have a clue.

Yelp
If I were to write this review based solely on the food, Strangeways would have received 5 stars. However, I'm writing about our experience as a whole, and in good faith, I cannot do that. After a foodie friend recommended the place, we decided to check it out as a post work treat. The service was HORRIBLE. Mediocre at best, but after watching a couple of regulars receive a warm welcome and attentive service it was clear where we stood. We had to beg for attention on a slow, rainy night and after hunting down the obviously drunk bar tender (I saw you take the shots, can't make it up) on a slow, rainy night, we received some kind of cheap sour blend of red wine in place of the Cabernets that were ordered. And this was after being told by the other unwelcoming bar tender that they lacked the ingredients necessary to make an Old Fashioned.... Seriously?!a supposed 40 beers available, but you're mysteriously lacking in bourbon, bitters & sugar?? Hmm... The food on the other hand was DELISH! From the cheese board to the Torta... Perfection. Complimenting flavors and variety from the cheese plate make it an ideal app or meal for two. Great presentation and ideal portions from each of the three entrees that were ordered. BOMB ASS ELOTES!! , btw Also, if your toilet constantly stalls/sprays patrons with water to the point that women warn each other about it in the restroom, it's time to call a plumber.

Yelp
They have 40 beers on tap....but nothing local. And no samples (for most of their beers). They have a terrible menu. F*ck this place.

Yelp
Give me your dark, slightly damp, cement floor bar with tons of taps full of the best selection of brews (okay, granted I can't drink any but a few sips of my BF's) and a full bar and I'm back in Bushwick. And I'm loving it. The outdoor seating is nice too but we prefer to hide from the daylight and be closer to the action (aka the taps). We can also enjoy sitting inside since you guys play music at a respectable level that still allows for conversations in our normal voices. I perused through some of the other reviews and I don't agree with a lot of the rants. Came here two weeks ago (been a few times prior as well!) with some not-so-well versed beer drinkers and had great service and they got us quite a few samples before they made decisions. I partake in the titos n sodas and they are strong and tasty as usual. We've had some of the homemade food and it was enjoyable. Thanks for keeping out the riffraff guys and we will be back soon ;)

Yelp
Good drink selection, but rude staff. My friend and I went to this bar to drink beer. On my sixth beer, I got a beer that tasted funny -- frankly dirty. My friend and I, who both drink a lot of beer, agreed that it was an unusual taste for any beer and may be due to dirty lines or an old keg. I politely told the bartender that my drink tasted odd. Without tasting the tap for himself first, the bartender immediately became hostile and defensive, and said that they aren't a place that replaces beers just because you don't like the taste. He was rude and made no effort to reconcile the situation. Regardless of whether the lines are dirty or the beer simply doesn't sit well with your taste buds, just about every bar (except this one) will replace your beer if you don't like it -- especially given that this is my sixth beer and I have already spent 30 bucks at your bar. It would have literally cost the bar 50 cents to replace a draft beer and rectify the situation. Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. It seems like other yelpers have had trouble with the staff here as well.
