The Best Houston Restaurants With a View | Eater Houston

"Located on the 43rd floor of 1415 Louisiana, this sky-high restaurant and bar is Downtown’s best-kept secret. Open for lunch and happy hour only, it serves as a welcome escape from the office. Start with a spring wedge salad, followed by a Strato burger made with hand-ground brisket, and observe the city in a unique and captivating way. Those in a hurry can opt for the $34 two-course business lunch, which comes with a choice of salad, and roasted chicken or salmon (pork chops and New York strips are also on offer for an added cost). End with dessert for $8 more." - Brittany Britto Garley

This Lunch Destination Promises Amazing Skyline Views | Eater Houston

"Lunch will be served with a view at the upcoming Strato 550, a new downtown restaurant slated to open this spring 550 feet above the ground on the 43rd floor of the renovated 1415 Louisiana building. Open Monday through Friday to the lunch crowd, the 104-seat space—designed by Houston’s Abel Design Group—will feature floor-to-ceiling windows for unobstructed, sweeping downtown skyline views from all sides and a soothing gray-and-white color scheme. The restaurant, which bills itself as the highest Houston restaurant open to the public, will offer a Mediterranean-inspired menu, include meeting rooms and availability for after-hours private events, and is currently searching for an executive chef to help open it." - Adele Chapin

The burger and fries were fresh and delicious. The fries were crispy with Parmesan cheese, and the burger was juicy and full of flavor. The staff were also very friendly.

Google
I came for a work event with a set menu. Overall it was a very well done catering job. Food for all the tables came out very close together and was correct. The food it self was good but very simple and standard. It’s hard to do great food for a large group. I would try it for lunch so see what the menu offers.

Google
Had lunch there on Friday and it was wonderful! Not crowded at all, great service, great views, and great taste. Really enjoyed the gin cocktail and jerk chicken I ordered. Looking forward to returning!

Google
Our luncheon was exceptional, from the tasty starters to the scallops and salmon, the latte creme brulee and the Chocolate tart! The atmosphere is trendy and thoroughly updated! The staff was on-point, with perfect timing. This would be the perfect venue for parties and special events.

Yelp
Just wow. Best hidden gem of a bar/restaurant anywhere in Houston. Seriously come here for the view of downtown, it's literally perfection on the 43rd flr. Lily recommended their Trinidad Sour and it was phenomenal! She was telling us this drink was actually created by accident, but in my opinion, that's how the best drinks are created. It's a great balance of sweet, sour, and bitter. We also tried their Pimms cup, classic cocktail made well. I can't wait to come back soon to try more of their cocktails. They also have a good looking food menu I want to try, specifically their crispy brussel sprouts, HTX burger, and their lamb ragu. Conference rooms are also available here to host meetings. I'm surprised more people don't know about this place considering how nice it is. I'll definitely be back for lunch and cocktails asap!

Yelp
Set up on the 43rd floor in the Wedge Tower is this skyline restaurant with magnificent views. I really think this would be great to watch the sunsets. I really enjoyed this bright and airy, modern restaurant with a mediterranean inspired menu. During this visit was a working team lunch so no alcohol was involved but the menu items I tried out from the first course list were the Grilled Lamb Meatballs herb yogurt, artichoke, cucumber, & tomato salad. I'd probably give this dish 3 stars. The meatballs were overcooked. I had also ordered the Grilled Shrimp, tabouli, harissa, marinated olives, cherry tomato, & avocado. Probably closer to 4 stars on this menu item. Service was a bit slow and lackadaisical. Overall I would come back again and for sure during a sunset.

Yelp
Strato 550 on the 43rd floor downtown is a must-visit spot. The views are breathtaking, and the food is delicious. I had an amazing arugula salad with blueberries and feta cheese, followed by perfectly cooked salmon. Our client was impressed, and the staff was friendly. It's an ideal spot for business or a special night out. Don't miss this gem!

Yelp
Pretty good food for downtown Houston. Great view and convenient location for business lunch and happy hour. Would recommend for group lunch/drink.

Yelp
Strato 550 specializes in luncheons and conference meetings. However, I had a very intimate and romantic birthday dinner at this restaurant. We visited on a Tuesday evening and we practically had the entire place to ourselves. For the best experience, I would recommend visiting right before sunset for a beautiful scenic view and for those perfect golden hour photos. Plan to come dressed in business casual as they do state on their website that dress code is enforced. It may have been because of the time of day (6pm) but the lounge menu was small; it mainly consisted of drinks, a small selection of appetizers, and a couple entrees. While the food was tasty and affordable (I was pleasantly surprised by the menu prices), I did wish they had more food options. Additionally, Strato closes pretty early, 8pm. We were informed by the bartender that the kitchen closes at 7pm and alcohol is served until 7:30pm. According to their website, they are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Parking is validated from the 1415 Garage at the corner of Louisiana & Clay. Bring your ticket to the staff to receive your validation. If the garage is full, you can find nearby street parking available for free after 5pm. I will definitely be back in the future to show off the Houston skyline to family and friends who visit me while also sipping on a cocktail. Call ahead of time and schedule a reservation for a table next to a window, just in case. (832) 280-8977 ... phone number pulled from google.

Yelp
I visited for lunch and thought Strato 550 was good. Frankly, I'd probably give them 3.5 stars because the service was rather slow for a place that advertises itself as a business lunch spot, but, because they just recently opened and the food was good, let's round up to four stars. We tried the Houston Restaurant Week lunch menu, and it was a good deal--we each got an appetizer and entree for $20. I had the artichoke appetizer--the combination of flavors was great, and I especially liked the kalamata sauce on top. For the entree, I had the market fish (which was scallops), served with a pasta. All in all, the food was good--even the pre-meal bread was good. Strato 550 advertises itself as a business lunch spot, and the restaurant even offers private conference rooms with A/V equipment. So, as a business lunch spot, I'd expect quicker service, but our appetizers took about 15-20 minutes to come out after we ordered. But I'm sure they'll work out the kinks soon!

Yelp
I love this place, one of my new favorite spots in Houston. Very good quality and good ingredients, healthy too, you can tell the chef cares a lot . The saffron risotto with the salmon was amazing, it's hard to find that perfect yellow paella rice without it being too salty or greasy etc..perfect texture. Only open for lunch on weekdays and free parking. Great views of Houston, feels like you are in LA. The chicken dish and hummus are also really good. Bryan provided incredible service both times I've come. I'm really picky, this place is good. Definitely give it a try, really nice ambiance too

Yelp
We went for lunch after 1pm and it was very quiet. We got the whole place for only two of us. The food and service was exceptional! The views are breathtaking! Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of the best views of Houston is from this restaurant. Their happy hour is great, all happy hour drinks are priced at $5.50. Also a great place for lunch for people who work downtown. They provide parking validations to the parking lot across the street from the building. The drinks are excellent and the food is tasteful. I'd say that portion are relatively small though.

Yelp
I made reservations for my boyfriends bday lunch. The food, service, atmosphere was phenomenal! We can't wait to go back again. We ordered a three course meal with drinks included. We were blown away by the quality of the food and drinks. We can't wait to go back for our anniversary! Highly recommend

Yelp
I chose this restaurant from Restaurant Weeks for our August birthday luncheon. They were able to accommodate us at the last minute for about 12 people. The service was horrible. The waiter was very condescending to me and my coworkers. The view was amazing, but food was just okay. Definitely not worth the abuse my coworkers and me experienced. Also, not good for vegetarians or vegans.

Yelp
Strato 550 is the perfect business lunch spot for downtown Houston! They have spectacular views but also very good food! Their scallops were cooked perfectly and the service is fantastic! Definitely a new spot to put on your list for your next business lunch.
