Street Food - Review - Montauk - New York - The Infatuation

"This restaurant in downtown Montauk is a popular spot to get your fill of dumplings, ramen, and poke in a region seriously lacking in Asian food, but the lobster rolls are also a highlight. The signature roll ($32) has soft chunks of local lobster in warm scallion ginger sauce and spicy mayo, hugged in bibb lettuce, and stuffed in a toasted brioche bun. It’s a fun take on a classic, and if you’re looking for even more Montauk lobster, add a scallion pancake topped with the meat to your order, or maybe some lobster fried rice, lo mein, or ramen. Takeout is convenient to tote over to Montauk Brewing Co. down the street." - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner

Google
I ordered a lobster fried rice and added beef, and it was a thing of beauty. The fried rice was done to perfection with the beef and lobster, the rice had wok-hei and very balanced with each rice coated with eggs. The lobster goes very well with the brocolli. Generous portion of lobster and food. 5 stars!

Google
This place is great if you’re looking for seafood with an Asian twist. The tuna and lobster is soo fresh, the lobster scallion pancake is exceptional. I got the fish and chips and it was so good, not greasy at all! Highly recommend this place

Google

Came here on Sunday eve June 29 with my best friend. We had edamame and seaweed salad and we ordered the cold lobster roll and the hot lobster roll. Everything was delicious! Service was excellent and we ate outside. Our waiter was so pleasant and we will definitely be back!

Google
Amazing location in MTK but unfortunately we did not get our food for 1 hr. The families we were with all finished their food, we got a beer next store at MTK brewery, we finished those and still food wasn't ready. When I inquired with thr dront desk, they apologized and stated they would reimburse us or we could wait 15 mins and they would prep the order. They found our bag that was ready 45 mins earlier and gave us that instead. The tuna poke bowls were warm, the warm lobster roll was cold and soggy. Terrible experience and unpleasant dining. Beers next store were delicious!

Google
Food is incredible. I am new here to Montauk and this has been my go to restaurant because I know I can’t go wrong with whatever I order here. I have tried various soups, pecking duck, shrimp/vegetable dumplings, fried rice beef/shrimp/chicken which all taste great and I have many more orders to go. The staff at this place are very kind and lovely people, I really like this place!

Google
This place is not good, I have no idea how the ratings are so high. We ordered veggie dumplings, veggie ramen and mapo tofu. Everything definitely was just reheated frozen meals. The dumplings were kinda still cold from being unfrozen and the mapo tofu was gelatinous and really bad - didn't even taste like mapo tofu??? just weird packaged goop. The ramen was just brother with some broccoli, lettuce and noodles - it was edible but very bland. I don't recommend this place at all unless you want to be disappointed. Other better Asian food places in Montauk to try.

Excellent variety, quality, and staff. The house rolls were great and the drinks were excellent.

Yelp
Got a pretty large takeout order from here on a Friday night, and our order was freshly prepared within the hour. It was reasonably priced for the area and had a pretty large menu, with a variety of rice, noodles, and stir fry dishes. My favorite items were the General Tso's fish, which was a good amount of sweet and salty, and the edamame, which was freshly warmed and flavorful. Unfortunately, none of the spicy dishes were spicy, and the mapo tofu did not come with ground meat like the dish usually does. It was okay for Chinese takeout, but there weren't any standout flavors to make this a must-visit again place for me.

Yelp
Really great place with nice (though loud) ambiance. Excellent sushi paired with hot saki which made for a wonderful night. This is a great, smaller restaurant that you don't want to miss if you're a sushi fan. Bread selection and better yet, very reasonable prices! Definitely recommend this.

Yelp

Yelp
It doesn't look like much and definitely gets overshadowed by montauk brewing company right next door but trust when I say do not pass this place by. It's a small place with limited seating indoors and a nice outdoor patio. No frills vibe with the owner's license plate collection proudly displayed on the counter. Nice menu infusing your classic montauk seafood shack with an Asian twist. Now I only got one thing so I can't speak for the rest of the menu but the lobster roll is excellent. It has scallion, soy , ginger oil and a nice spicy Mayo. Gotta love the originality.

Yelp
I got the Seshuan seafood special, it was $40 and honestly was very disappointed. The platter was mostly vegetables only a few pieces of shrimp and scallops, and the a few chunks of lobster with the shell on. The rice wasn't very good either. For $40 I was robbed. Not happy was hoping for better.

Yelp
Great location next to Montauk Brewery for a bite to soak up the suds. Service was quick, and the shrimp fried rice was flavorful. Just a bit overpriced for the amount of food received. With tax, it was $16 for a pretty simple (and small) dish. I'll come back to try some other dishes, with fingers crossed for bigger portions.

Yelp
Quick and easy. Where else can you get excellent fish $ chips along with Poke and Asian street food!? This place! Also they can make many items totally GF of you ask. Order at the counter and hang out at the tables outside. You can also visit the Montauk Brewery right next door.

Yelp

Yelp
Raw scallop poke bowl. Very surprised by the amount of scallops. I got the spicy but I also added the vinaigrette. The shrimp were fresh and good portions.

Yelp
Excellent! Pork dumplings are probably the freshest I've ever had. The chicken stir fry *chefs kiss*. I don't want chicken stir fry any other way ever again. The beef lo mien was delish! I will be back each time I come to Montauk.

Yelp
General tsos fish was so delicious! Was not expecting to find taro milk bubble tea but there it was!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Lots of places to sit outside. Little pricey but totally worth it. 10/10 would recommend. Especially the shrimp fried rice.

Yelp
Good food, right price. Vegetable lo mien was on point. Can't beat the location, good outdoor seating.

Yelp
We came here for the Montauk Music Festival. Our server Kyle was great and so was the food. We appreciate the service and quality. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is no different than the super fast and cheap mom and pop takeout joints all over NYC. And for us it was a bummer. The food was extremely greasy and the ingredients didn't seem very fresh. Even the fries that came with one of our orders was disappointing. They weren't crisp and seemed a bit undercooked. Worse, this place isn't cheap. I usually get three times the amount of salmon in poke bowls I order in NYC.

Vanessa G.

Yelp
Good food. Quick service. Only complaint was that half of scallion pancakes were a little charred, but otherwise best Chinese food in Montauk.

Ava P.

Yelp
Portions were to small for the price. I assume the cashier was the owner, and apologized for some of the staff not being fluent in english. I thought that was weird with the tone she said it. Was hoping to find a fun hole in the wall just to be disappointed. Also did not have many of the menu items available. Just meh. Shouldn't be rude to staff when alone or in front of customers. Maybe instead of being rude she should learn to communicate better. I dont recommend the greasy food here. Find somewhere else, like costco which is probably where they got the dumplings and spring rolls.

Yelp
Pricey but great Asian food with a twist. Awesome addition to what Montauk has to offer already.

Yelp
Fantastic hidden gem. Located right next to montauk brewery. We sat outside on a little picnic table and ordered lots to try and was not disappointed in a single dish! Sure it's a little costly but it's montauk in 2021, everything is costly! Will def return; must try!
