Where to Find the Best Thai Food in Houston | Eater Houston

"It’s common knowledge that no one should ever grocery shop hungry, and here, you don’t have to. Stop in at the restaurant for big portions of Northeastern Thai and Laos-style classics like the green curry, fried rice, and the pad see ew or stir fry, or go for the “all-time favorite” deep-fried whole white pompano that’s served with a special Thai sauce. Finish the meal off with Street Food’s mango sticky rice, and then shop in its mini market for ingredients where you can test your cooking skills at home." - Brittany Britto Garley

Where to Eat the Best Salads in Houston | Eater Houston

"Street Food Thai Market’s som tum, or green papaya salad, combines brightness, spice, and umami in a beautifully light package. The salad can be ordered Thai or Laos style depending on your preference, but be careful when choosing the spice level — the Thai peppers used are no joke. Make it a meal by ordering som tum and gai tod, which adds chicken wings and sticky rice to the plate." - Katie Holtman

Where to Eat the Spiciest Dishes in Houston | Eater Houston

"Spice levels run high at this Northern-Thai-Laotian market with a comfortable dining area. Even the pad kee mao may hurt a little, but to really feel the fire, order the gaeng om. The dill-flecked mushroom stew is replete with chiles that belie its bright, herbaceous first impression." - Alice Levitt

Street Food Thai Market Debuts After A Major Menu Revamp - Eater Houston

"The restaurant formerly known as Asia Market Thai has officially transformed into Street Food Thai Market. Originally a spot for Thai and Laotian cuisine, the restaurant now will focus on Thai street food dishes like boat noodles, pad thai, panang beef, and more. The restaurant quietly opened its doors this week, and will open for lunch and dinner starting at 11 a.m." - Amy McCarthy

Google
This is my favorite local restaurant. You know a place is good when it is almost always full. They have an extensive menu, and I have yet to try something I did not like. Service is good, and they also have a small grocery store with some Thai staples. Check this place out if you want good and authentic Thai food. Large portions too. Never left this place feeling hungry.

Google
The best authentic Thai food! I ordered the Som Tum Thai Style (papaya salad), and it was delicious—super flavorful and refreshing. I also tried the Tom Yum Noodle. I was initially worried it might be too spicy, as I don't handle spice very well, but they were very accommodating with my spice preference, and it turned out to be very tasty! The staff were kind and attentive. There's also a small market attached to the restaurant where you can purchase items. I can't wait to try more dishes in the future!

Google
This is a store and restaurant hybrid, gave a very nice street food vibe. Food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait! It was father's day, so ig the wait was expected Good variety on the menu and everything was seasoned well! Only complaint we had was the staff chased us out to ask us to pay for the tab even though we settled it earlier but it was just a minor miscommunication :) Reasonable prices for the portions, humble little spot that serves good food

Google
Just tried this local Thai spot for the first time and it was incredible! Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The yellow curry was my favorite dish, followed by the pad mama. We ended the meal with mango sticky rice and it was the best one I’ve ever had. 5/5!

Google
Street Food Thai Market is our top Thai spot in the city. You know it’s good when Thai & Laotian families dine in too! We are Thai & Laotian and this restaurant has a lot of local traditional flavors on their menu . We recommend this place to anyone who asks about a good Thai spot especially in North Houston / Heights. They have the popular curry and Pad dishes. As well as more traditional dishes both Laotian and Thai.

Google
Favorite Thai in Houston. We have come more than 10 times. Our favorites are: - Appetizers: rotti with curry, lemongrass chicken and chicken wings - Entrees: Beef pad see ew, beef pad mama, masaman curry. Big servings and really cheap. It gets really crowded around 7pm on Fridays, they have a paper waitlist that you can write your name on. They have a small shop with Thai food and they also have to go service.

Google
This is a restaurant / store hybrid if you will. A small and unassuming place where one half is a sit down dine in (which is almost always full) and the other a Thai store where you can get staples. Neither detracts from serving incredibly tasty Thai food! I went in with a few friends and for appetizers got the Roti with curry sauce, Street spicy chicken wings and chive cakes. Our entrees were Chicken massaman curry, Beef larb, Pad krapow moo krob and Chicken pad khee mao. We shared a Mango sticky rice for dessert and it was hands down one of the BEST mango sticky rices I’ve had! Their Thai tea was incredibly tasty as well! Nice service, a bit of a wait time, but worth it for the food and portions!

Google
Had an amazing experience here. Took my family in around dinner time and were seated very quickly. It's a cute, intimate restaurant with a good amount of seating. It also has a small store connected with a bunch of neat snacks. Portions for each dish are HUGE. It was enough to feed my family of 6 and have leftovers to pack and take home. We ordered a few dishes, which we all shared, including Pad See Ew Beef (Level 1 spice) Pad See Ew Pork (Level 3 spice) Fried Rice Chicken The servers were kind and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced.

Yelp
one of my FAVORITE thai places in houston. i HIGHLY recommend coming here if you want thai food. i love their pad see ew, pad thai, and tom kha, those are my fav. if you're in between pad see ew and pad thai i would say they have a better pad see ew. their service is always fast and friendly with a casual atmosphere. the parking is a little tight. there is also a small thai market inside that sells thai items.

Yelp
This eatery is tucked in an Asian market so it has super lowkey seating but it's clean. Service is super fast and our food came within nine minutes. Their pad Thai is out of this world and possibly the best I've had. It's so soft, chewy, a burst of sweet and savory flavors with crushed peanuts. Also got their green curry which was super flavorful with bamboo shoots, eggplant, bell peppers and tofu. The curry was decent but I'd say take something else. Their tofu is a little on the chewier side and a dry on its own. Overall this place is such a good spot for quick, authentic Thai food.

Yelp
Such a little gem. The food always has its quality and always packed with ppl there. Most of our foods were great except the wings. The wings were overdone that day, so they were dry. Except that, we enjoyed it!

Yelp
Solid food - tom yum goong, khao soi, pad see ew, basil fried rice, son-in-law eggs. Love a restaurant that's just good at doing food, no frills attached.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was fast. The restaurant is located in the middle of a Thai grocery store so you know it's legit. Pad kee mow : So good with the simple veggies and tofu Panang curry: so flavorful, I could really taste the coconut The fried dumplings were okay nothing to write home about.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended, so I decided to check it out for Friday lunch. The menu had so many options and everything looked amazing. I asked our server for a starter recommendation, and she suggested the veggie egg rolls. Absolutely delicious. I also asked what the most popular dish was, and she said the Pad Thai. I got it with shrimp, and it did not disappoint. So flavorful and tasted super authentic. Honestly, the most memorable Pad Thai I've ever had. My friend ordered the Khao Soi Gai (curry noodles with chicken), and I have to say, her dish was my favorite. Easily some of the best curry I've ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. Portions here are no joke!! The plates are huge and definitely meant to be shared. We could have easily split one dish, but I'm glad we didn't because I got to take leftovers home. My dad tried them and was just as impressed. The place itself is super casual and has a real authentic feel to it. Service was fast and food was as fresh as can be overall. I'll definitely be back and bringing more friends with me next time!

Yelp
The best Thai food in Houston! So delicious. The khao soi is perfection--so flavorful and the perfect comfort meal. The cheese rolls and spring rolls are a must. It was the first time I had the papaya salad and I had no notes. SO good. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai spots in Houston and seen its popularity grown over the years. (I think I first visited in 2018 after their name change) I finally got to try the Khao Soi Gai on this recent visit and it definitely lived up to the hype. The coconut soup/curry is rich and flavorful, and the mix of egg and crispy noodles gives it a great texture. All the other dishes I've had over the years like the Pad Thai, Pad khee mao, Papaya salad and even the fried rice are very solid. The Papaya salad packs some serious Thai heat so be warned when you choose your spice levels here. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the portions on some dishes have gotten a bit smaller and prices a bit higher, but also understandable with inflation and growing popularity. Thai tea is also a bit watered down this time. The space has a cozy, mom and pop vibe with limited seating. There's a small attached mini mart featuring some classic SE Asian fixings/ingredients. Definitely a unique spot. Parking can be a challenge, there's also some street construction at the time of this writing. A great place for to-go orders as well. Overall the dishes feel authentic and a satisfying experience each time.

Yelp
Highlight: Khao Soi Gai ($14.95), Beef Pad See Ew ($12.95) The best beef pad see ew I've ever had. Cooked to perfection, the bouncy chewiness of the noodles was firm with a good bend. The vegetables were crunchy and well flavored, salty with a hint of sweetness. The eggs surprisingly had a nice and crispy texture with a small hint of crunch. Curry had a coconut taste and rich in flavor. The chicken was tender and noodles were crunchy. I wished it was hotter in temperature but tasted great overall. Hospitality: Fast service. Honorable Mention: Great portions and the restaurant is inside of a small grocery store.

Yelp
We found the place on Yelp and based on the reviews decided to give it a try! The restaurant is set up cafeteria-style, and I could dig it cause I'm totally a fan of the more quaint spots, or as we say, the "hole-in-the-walls." The service felt a bit disjointed, with multiple servers rotating through our table. Only one out of several seemed confident in making solid menu recommendations; the rest either didn't seem familiar with the dishes or gave what felt like scripted responses. The fish cakes were just okay. Not terrible, but not something I'd go out of my way to try again. The texture was spongy and the flavor was singularly, just fish. I think a little extra seasoning or an unexpected flavor element could've elevated the dish. The lemongrass chicken was disappointing. Our first order came out over-fried and dark brown, so we sent it back and asked for a fresher dish with more lemongrass. The second round looked better, nice and golden brown, but still fell flat on flavor. We later found out the chicken comes pre-seasoned, so they couldn't actually adjust the lemongrass level. Ultimately, it tasted like plain chicken nuggets, so I wouldn't recommend it. The chicken wings are great. They were fried well and coated with the Thai chili sauce. Thai chili wings are always a hit in my book. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Pad Kee Mao--flavorful, well-balanced, and hard to mess up. It seems like in other reviews people were raving about the actual dishes and not the appetizers. So I would say that our appetizers were a bit disappointing but the main entrées may have been what afforded other customers a better experience. Overall, it was a decent experience, but nothing that left a lasting impression.

Yelp
All the other reviews that are 5 star are correct. Go not and try this! No frills nor fancy just out of this world unbelievably good food at a great price for the amount. WARNING be wary of heat level 3 or above. 2 was perfect for us and enjoy very spicy food.

Yelp
After a late night out with my cousin, we dragged ourselves out of bed for breakfast and stumbled upon this spot after a quick search for Thai food -- and wow, it did not disappoint. We started with the papaya salad, which was bursting with flavor and packed that signature Thai heat that instantly shook us out of our hangovers. The red curry was rich, creamy, and layered with just the right balance of coconut and spice. The Pad Kee Mao was also a standout -- perfectly pan-fried with a great wok char while still keeping the noodles soft and bouncy. Now for the drinks... unfortunately, both the Thai tea and Thai coffee were a miss. They were super watered down, and I wouldn't recommend them. Service was great -- the staff was attentive and kind, even with the restaurant being moderately busy. There's also a small attached market, which is convenient but a bit overpriced compared to the bigger Asian markets in town. The space (both inside and out) definitely feels a bit worn and dated, but honestly, that just adds to the charm. You know the food's going to be legit when the decor isn't trying too hard.

Yelp
Ok wow... this was a recommendation from a friend of mine and all I gotta say is wow. Food detail is sooOOo good here! When you first walk in, you may be a lil confused because its a small convenient store, but there are mom n pop shop style seating for dining. The place is run by a small crew of people and they're all very friendly and patient. Enough of all that though... my friends and I "ATE," and we ate real good! Got the Pad Khee Mao, Beef Noodle Soup, Pad Mama, some dumplings, shortribs, beef stir fry, grilled mackerel... 7 (5 mains and 2 appetizers) different things plus Thai teas. I think it all came out to about 90$ (friends paid so you know food tasted extra good) But dont take my word for it, its worth the drive across town for. Go check it out!

Yelp
Street food Thai market is definitely one of my favorites when it comes to Thai food. Everything I've tried here has been exceptional. My favorite so far is the street spicy wings, honestly some of the juiciest wings you will ever eat combined with a super delicious sweet, spicy, and slightly tangy sauce. This is not even an exaggeration, but for me it tops alot of wing specialty restaurants. Next up is the son in law eggs, I really love the tamarind sauce that comes on this dish, the tanginess just pairs so well with the eggs. Lastly you can't go wrong with the khao soi, if you're into textures this perfect, it has both regular egg noodles, and fried noodles paired with a creamy and savory broth that is just oh so comforting. The service here is quick and efficient, very good for a hole in the wall spot. P.S. This place is very popular during lunch time, with limited parking so be prepared for that.

Yelp
Food is always wonderful. From the Pad Khee Mao to the Khao Soi to the mango sticky rice. No bad bites.

Yelp
Food is excellent and the portions are substantial. Service is very good. Parking can be a challenge during peak times if you want to be in front of the restaurant. Great value and the place fills up so come early or late.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place and it was delicious! The parking could fill up, but we got there pretty soon after they opened so it wasn't too bad. We ordered chicken pad Thai and Tiger Cry (Suea Rong Hai). First of all, the portion for pad Thai is huge which is awesome! I do wish it had some spice, but maybe we were supposed to ask for it because it was not spicy at all. The Tiger Cry was alright. The beef was very chewy and I'm not the biggest fan of that texture. The sauce was delicious though and the sticky rice was good as well. The Pad Thai tasted great. I could really taste the tamarind and would love it all the move if it had a kick. Overall, solid Thai place in the Houston area!

Yelp
NEVER DISAPPOINTS. HITS EVERYTIME. We got our usual roti w curry sauce, pad Thai with beef and a Thai green tea ( love how it's not too sweet ) But this time we tried the Tom Kha Gai and it was everything we were looking for in a soup. Creamy, savory, sweet, citrusy. Going to be another staple in our rotation!!

Yelp
Street Food has become one of our staples for Thai food in Houston. It is a no-frills dining experience, as it's located within a grocery store (bodega-like), and the restaurant itself is sectioned off in its own area of the store. The plastic tablecloths remind me of growing up in an Asian household. My favorite dish is the Khao Soi Gai (curry noodles with chicken). It is a curry soup-like dish that comes with two types of egg noodles: soft in the soup and crispy on top. They serve it with a large chicken drumstick but also pieces of boneless chicken breast in the curry. While this is probably meant served individually, we always family style it and make an effort to share it in our individual bowls. Other favorites of the table here are the Massaman Curry, Panang Curry, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Pad Khee Mao, Deep Fried Whole Tilapia with Thai Triple Flavored Sauce, and Crab Fried Rice. Portions are a decent size and we usually have enough to take home leftovers. Service here is always pretty quick and efficient. On one of our previous visits, the owner's sister was helping out for the day and was super friendly and struck up conversation with us to tell us about her Thai upbringing and that has translated onto the dishes served here. Street Food will continue to be a go-to if I'm feeling Thai. They do lots of takeout business, so it's a good option for a lazy night in as well. I have also found myself coming here if I need a common Asian grocery item that I can't find in HEB, but don't feel like driving all the way to Chinatown for.
google avatar

Yelp
It's hard to believe the first time I tried this restaurant I didn't like it and now it's one of my all time favorites. I think I just ordered the wrong thing the first time because since then I've had some great food here. Everything tastes fresh and is always consistently well prepared. My wife and I eat here at least twice a month. My favorite is the Kao Soi Gai. Just an amazing flavorful dish with so many layers. Also love the pad see ew, hidden fired rice and the chive cake appetizer. Definitely a top 5 Houston restaurant for me. Service always on point. The atmosphere is a very cool unpretentious vibe.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Don't come here for the ambiance, but come strictly for the amazingly prepared Thai and Lao dishes. Came here with a group of 5 on a Sunday around 3pm and there was a wait to be sat. To be fair, this is more of mini Asian market that just happens to have tables on one side of the market. The place was full, and we had several people in front of us waiting to be sat. All-in-all, we couldn't have waited more than 10-15 minutes. We ordered a variety of dishes to share for the table in included beef Pad See Ew, Chicken Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice, a curry dish, Papaya Salad, and a small sausage plate. Everything was honestly pretty solid. I'd rate it an overall 4.5/5. I've absolutely had better Thai food in both LA & Chicago, but according to my partner's family who lives in the Houston area, this is the best they've had here... and that there isn't anything close to Thai this good in the Houston area. My only complaint really was that they didn't have any chilli paste at the moment. They had run out. Would come back here if I ever find myself here!

Yelp
This is a little hole in the wall is an absolute gem in the Heights. If you enjoy Thai food, you should definitely check this place out It might not look like much from the outside, and honestly, it's nothing too flashy on the inside, but don't let that fool you. This place is worth a visit There is plenty of infoor seating, but the dining area shares space with a market (little Thai convenient store). You can find Asian spices, Candy, beverages, snacks, meats, etc. The staff were very friendly and professional. A server will take your order, but you will pay at the front when you are done The menu offers a wide variety of Thai delicacies, and the food is delicious. The portions are hearty, and the spice/heat levels range from low, mild, medium, hot, and Thai Hot Some tips: If you're in a group, consider ordering different dishes and sharing (family style). Their curries are very tasty. The Pad Thai might be the best I've ever had. And if you are considering an appetizer, the fried pork dumplings were delightful Cheers!!

Yelp
My friend recommended this restaurant to me and I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. Street Food Thai Market gives hole in the wall, sticky table vibes, so you know the food will slap as soon as you walk in. My friend and I ordered 3 dishes- the pad kee mao, panang curry, and the spicy chili wings. All their dishes are plated on banana leaves, which I thought added a nice touch to the presentation. Beef Pad Kee mao- Great flavor. We got mild spicy (wasn't spicy at all really), so I might try medium next time. They were very generous with the proteins. The dish also included some green beans, which I thought added a nice textural crunch to the dish. Panang curry- This was my favorite of the three. The richness of the spices and coconut milk really stood out to me. Again, they were very generous with the protein (we got chicken). The portion size was decently large for a curry and I would come back again just for their curries; I kept reaching back for it. But like the pad kee mao, I will try a spicier version next time. Spicy chili wings- these were decent as well. Pretty standard thai chili wings with a nice crispy exterior. Sauce was tangy and smooth. The order came with 6 wings. Honestly, I probably wouldn't order this again, just so I can try something new next time. Service was really nice! There were a few servers that checked on us throughout the night and they gave very genuine vibes. I am excited to be back!

Yelp
The food here was great. It's located inside a market so there's not too much to it nor seating. It'd be hard to sit a group larger than six. Service was great and they were very attentive. The food was tasty. We had the chicken Pad See Ew and the pumpkin stir fry and shared an order of Fried Tofu (delicious!!!). They're also big servings which is great. The pumpkin stir fry dish didn't have very much flavor so I'd probably order something else next time. You have to pay at the register up front which also seems to be the register for the market. My only issue is that they didn't tell us that their tip would be added at the end. We had all indicated to the waitress that there were 3 couples and that each couple would be paying their own tab. They said that was ok. We go pay and they didn't split the bill as requested. The lady at the register ended up having to do it for us. Not a big deal. When my partner paid for ours he hadn't realized that they had put the entire table's tip onto ours. The machine had showed/indicated the correct amount when my partner paid but when he got the receipt it showed he had paid over $20 in tips. We tried to get this corrected but the line was piling up and the person who we'd have to wait for to fix the issue was on the phone and then they'd have to recalculate the entire tables tab. Our friends offered to just pay us separately so that we could just leave.

Yelp
Everything is good except the chicken Pad Thai. It was mooshy and goey and no flavor.

Yelp
First time trying Thai food. Restaurant was cute, quaint and half was a small store. Service was fast, friendly and they checked on us. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and Spicy basil fried rice. Noodles were level 1, fried rice was level 2. Now I love spicy food but sheesh!!! The level 2 was hot! Food came out steamy and fresh. Loved that it was full of veggies. But that heat! Man oh man. I paid for it later but it was worth it. Would I go back? Definitely but I'd only get a level 1. Yup. Weenie hut general.

Yelp
After hearing many rave reviews from my friends, I visited Street Food Thai Market on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with my family. We are thai food fanatics and I have been on the hunt for an amazing Thai restaurant in Houston. After, we visited Thailand last year the American Thai restaurants could no longer compete with my heightened expectations. However, Street Food Thai Market was phenomenal!! We tried the pad kee mao, panang curry, yellow curry, and Vietnamese coffee. Everything was vibrant and delicious for an affordable price. The portions are big - each entree is enough for at least 2 meals. The service was quick and attentive, and our server thankfully advised us to go down a spice level when ordering. I normally like my Thai food hot but the medium here was spicy enough! Also, the atmosphere of the restaurant is unique because there is a small grocery section opposite the dining area where customers can purchase some Thai ingredients. As soon as we left, we were already talking about planning our next visit. I can't recommend it enough!
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
It doesn't hurt that I'm walking distance from here, but this is in heavy rotation for take out when I'm craving something comforting and consistently good. The parking lot can get crowded but there's street parking in the neighborhood nearby if needed. My usual order includes some combination of roti with curry sauce, wings, yellow curry, or pad see ew.
google avatar

Yelp
Street Food Thai Market is probably one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in Houston. Located in a seemingly Thai grocery store, Street Food Thai Markets gives off the razzle dazzle. I went here on a Friday night and it was packed. Luckily I didn't have to wait long as a table was getting up right when I arrived. The parking situation is to be expected in Houston - only a handful of spaces available in the front. Upon seating, the server was very attentive to get our drink orders and was kind to answer any questions we had regarding the menu. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it did take a little longer than expected however given the busy night, I can see the delays. The Pad See Ew was very delicious and had a fair portion of everything- noodles, vegetables, and meat. Overall, this Pad See Ew was one of the best I have ever had.

Yelp
Truly a hole in the wall restaurant with great tasting food and casual vibes! I have been coming here for a few years ever since a friend revealed its existence to me. It's pretty popular for how low-key it is, there was a wait on a Friday evening and parking lot was full. It has been my go-to spot for Thai food with extremely flavorful red curry and Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles). They are not shy with their spice and 3/5 was the perfect spot for a spice enjoyer like myself. Being a hole in the wall, the logistics of dining here are not the most ideal. Parking is limited in the front of the restaurant, and when I asked the worker about other parking options, he told me people sometimes park in the empty lot next door and in the surrounding neighborhood, but he could not officially recommend it because of the possibility of being towed. Inside, the place is half restaurant and half grocery store although grocery options are very limited. Service is fine, pay at the counter, although they did get my choice of protein wrong once. Overall, it is a great spot for a hangout or to impress your date with great Thai food!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Great little Thai food place! Limited parking in the front. Large portions for the price. You come in, grab a menu, and find a seat. Their menu has a lot of options! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is pretty cool. FOOD RATINGS: Roti & curry: 5/5 so yum Fried rice: 4/5 really good with sate Pad thai: 4/5 delicious but didn't have much bean sprouts

Yelp
This is a very small Thai restaurant that is also a market. We arrived at the perfect time. Every table quickly filled up after we walked in. The reviews are excellent so I wasn't surprised. I loved my pad mama noodles with tofu! The veggie egg rolls were great. My friends had more of mixed experience with their selections. The food is authentic and presented beautifully for a "hole in the wall" establishment. If I was a local, I would definitely return. The negatives are minor...it took a long time for my boyfriend's food to come. The rest of us were almost done eating by the time his food came. There wasn't any communication on where to pay. We were waiting for a check but you pay at the counter. My friend ordered the Pad Mama to go (that's how good it was) and we were waiting for it but it was at the counter. Those are minor issues that wouldn't deter me from coming back or recommending to others. They are a small business cooking fresh, delicious Thai food.

Yelp
Solid Thai option in the Heights area. As the description and other users mention, huge portions so plan for leftovers! We started with the Roti and Curry appetizer; the Roti was super soft and pliable and the curry for dipping was richly flavorful. For my main I went basic and got the Chicken Pad Thai - noodles were perfectly cooked and sturdy enough to hold up to the sauce and toppings. All in all, I will keep it in rotation for when I need my Thai food fix and look forward to trying more items on their menu.

Yelp
Loved it. The inside is busy and consistently full. Food was super flavorful. Staff was fast and food came out quickly. Everything was so good. It's a chill place and I liked that about it. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Excellent Thai/Laotian food restaurant that shares a space with a grocery store. Extremely packed when we came in with alot of patrons also ordering takeout on a Thursday evening. The menu is rather extensive but all looked very promising (no pictures) with detailed descriptions. We skipped the apps which didn't call to me (I know Laotian/Thai fried chicken is amazing but I just didn't want fried chicken that night). Ordered the Curry noodle soup (Khao Soi Gai) and the deep fried soft shell crab and veggie stir fry (Pad Krapow Softshell Crab). The wait wasn't too bad, and it was nice to talk as the space was tiny and cramped with other tables just adjacent to you, but the noise levels drowned out other conversations, which provided privacy in a way? Lol The food was amazing. High levels of flavor, spice, and came out piping hot. The Curry noodles had amazing broth - light enough to take sips of in between bites of bouncy (but not too al dente) wavey noodles and rice with soft shell crab from the other dish. Loved the chunks of pickled veggies and sliced shallots in the soup as well as the generous amounts of chicken bits. I wasn't in the mood for noodles, but these had so much flavor but weren't soggy/soft at all! Soft shell crab was crispy and had good flavor as well. Loved the veggies which were perfectly cooked. And because there are forewarnings on the restaurant menu regarding spice, we kept our spice level to just the first level, which was perfect. One of the better dishes of soft shell crab I've had ever. The food was overall a little salty but very good, but the side of roti rolls we ordered to dip in the Curry soup wasn't necessary. Price points are fair for the quality and portion of food, I think. Very justifiable. I would come back again 100%.

Yelp
Got the pad thai with medium spice and it was definitely spicy. The pad thai was super flavorful and the portions are large. I got the pad thai to go and it was still good even after a few hours!

Yelp
My friend invited me spontaneously to lunch at street food Thai market on the weekend before a big exam. Anyone who knows me by now knows that I'll never say no to food. The parking lot is very small and every spot was full by the time I got there. I parked next door on a grass field of a bar that wasn't open yet. I learned my lesson from getting their mild spice this time and got no spice when I ordered the chicken pad kee mao. Even the no spice had a bit of Thai chili's in it but not as much as mild. They give you huge portions here and the noodles were really good. My friend got a tom kha soup and a fried pork belly dish and she really liked it

Yelp
This is actually a really good place. I've been coming here for years. I come with friends so we share a lot of plates. You're missing out if you haven't tried it.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food! Everything was so good. My wife and I tried 4 different dishes and one appetizer. You can't go wrong. We went with number 3 spice which was the perfect amount of spice.

Yelp
I enjoyed some massaman curry here on a surprisingly busy weekend in the late afternoon. Some pros about this place are its quick service, vast and tasty menu, and ample rice. The massaman curry itself was rich, flavorful, and had peanuts, potatoes, tomatoes, and your choice of protein (mine was meat). I also liked that they gave you the option to customize the spice level and presented dishes on banana leaves which made for a nice touch. Some minor downsides to this place are a small parking lot and a smaller amount of protein in the curry. However, those are small complaints in the grand scheme of things. I would encourage anyone in the area to give this place a try!

Yelp
Am I angry about finding two bugs in my take-home Chicken Pad Thai? Strangely, no. I'm sad and shocked. I'm shocked that I would find critters in my food and sad that I won't ever be able to dine at my (now former) favorite Thai food restaurant. I had previously rated Street Food Thai Market 5-stars and recommended it to countless friends and family. How could you let this happen to your customers? There wasn't just one but two bugs, indicative of unacceptable, unsanitary conditions. My search for a clean and tasty Thai place has begun.

Yelp
Got the pad see ew, pad kee mao, spicy wings, khao soi gai, and a green chicken curry. All the dishes were very tasty and definitely had a kick to them. The portions are also very generous. Service was quick and the staff was very friendly. It's a part of a grocery store so seating is limited but well worth the wait. Parking is also limited but they also have a grass lot next door to park in. Will keep coming back for more!

Yelp
So far, this is the best pad thai that I've had it Houston and they're very generous with the portions. About $1-2 cheaper than most places around the area and this will keep me coming back. If you see a table that's available, just sit and a server will assist you with the rest. Once you're done with the meal, you pay at the register and don't get handed a check before paying. The restaurant space is shared with the market but it doesn't feel too small. However, finding a convenient parking spot might be tough during the lunch/dinner rush. I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to have some good food.

Yelp
Just a friendly reminder that they have the best Thai food in Houston. Even take out is DELICIOUS!! Who knew tofu could be so satisfying. We love it here so much. Great prices and generous portions.

Yelp
I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants, but Street Food Thai Market has definitely landed in my top 3 Thai spots. We ordered a Beef Pad Thai, Chicken Pad Kee Mao, and Beef Pad See Ew. All three dishes came out pretty quickly and were in huge portions. They were all packed with flavor with the perfect amount of kick. I will say my favorite was the Pad Kee Mao. Dare I say it probably was the best I've ever had... I will definitely be coming back for it very soon. Service was decent, and you pay at the counter. And just a heads up - parking can be limited depending on when you go. There is a small parking lot in the strip.
