I have to say, I'm not usually a fan of Chinese-American food. In my experience, the quality is often subpar and the flavors can be quite bland. Street Wok is the EXTREME opposite. It is the closest thing to authentic Chinese food that I've had since dining at House of Nanking in San Francisco 18 years ago.
Each dish has a unique flavor profile that is bursting with spices and herbs. I'm truly blown away by the quality and authenticity of the food here. It's clear that the chef puts a lot of care and thought into every dish, and it really shows in the final product. Each dish tastes completely different from the others, and each one is more delicious than the last.
Mark my words, Netflix WILL find this restaurant... and when it does, well, you'll just say, I remember when... it was empty...
Despite the poor ambiance, with millennial music blaring in the background, the food more than makes up for it. In fact, most people seem to just order takeout.
My hope is that the owner considers playing authentic Chinese music instead, to enhance the ambiance and provide a more immersive dining experience. Additionally, table cloths, flowers, plants and other decorations could be added to create a more cozy and inviting atmosphere.
In summary, if you're a fan of bold and delicious flavors, or if you've never had good Chinese food in America, this restaurant is a must-try. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!
