The 34 Best Restaurants in Madrid, Spain | Eater

"Chef David Muñoz, who also runs three-Michelin-starred DiverXO (also on this list), owns this restaurant inside the El Corte Inglés Serrano department store. Lines at StreetXO, his more casual venue, can be an hour or two long (get there early), but it’s well worth the wait. The menu is a journey across Asia and Latin America, and the flavors are wild and bold. The place is loud, the chefs cook everything right in front of your eyes, and the chili crab and famed club sandwich (actually a steamed pork bun topped with a fried quail egg) are some of the most exciting bites in the city. Know before you go: StreetXo’s Circus bar is open for cocktails from noon until to midnight." - Paula Móvil

Times Restaurant Critic Marina O’Loughlin Does Not Like British Pubs | Eater London

"A theatrically styled, 'high octane' venue that, despite critical skepticism, remains perpetually rammed; it's known for showy, expensive plates and bold presentation—illustrated by dishes such as "Josper Vine smoked Ribeye of Wagyu Beef with Canary Island & Nikkei dressing served alongside tempura of Spanish potato omelette with egg yolk sabayon (£75)"—and for chefs who favor striking, even straitjacket-chic, wardrobes. The author has avoided it based on trusted recommendations and a reluctance to spend on potentially divisive experiences, yet accepts that many diners are drawn to its spectacle." - Marina O'Loughlin

I mean Wow on so many levels. The creative drink menu, the servers, the ambiance…everything was great. We had 6 dishes between 2 people, which felt about right, including a dessert. A couple items we didn’t order, including the braised short rib, looked huge and could have easily been its own meal. This place is a lot of fun and would highly recommend. They book very quickly and if you don’t have reservations, you’ll want to try and go early. Located on rooftop of the department store.

It's spectacular! A real show! Very fun atmosphere, loud music and good vibes. The food looks amazing and tastes even better. The service was outstanding. No reservations available, if you are lucky you don't have to wait, and if not it's worth the wait... Loved it!!!

Be prepared for an assault on all senses. Stepping into StreetXO feels like entering another dimension. It’s like slipping into a Baz Luhrmann film — fast-paced, high-energy and larger-than-life — only this time, it is the legendary chef David Muñoz in the director's chair. The moment you cross the threshold, your senses are bombarded by the thundering music and the striking visuals. While waiting for the seat, you might get to try its signature cocktail, the ❤️ BLOOD XO, dramatically served in an anatomical heart-shaped glass. Yet, this is only a prelude to the spectacle ahead. Soon, you’re seated at the red bar that encircles the open kitchen, which grants every guest a front-row view of the chefs in action. Here, every plate is a story told in taste, texture, aroma and form and watching the food prepared tableside is pure culinary theater. From the DUMPLING PEKINÉS to the LASAÑA KOREANA, each dish feels like a surrealist work of art born from the boundless imagination of its creator, showcasing Muñoz's genius for blending global street food influences with Michelin-level technique. But there’s a caveat: the world of David Muñoz doesn’t whisper — it roars. The alchemy of bold flavors, the relentless electronic soundtrack, and the hyper-stylized kitschy décor might drive some diners to the brink of sensory overload. Yet in this domain, Muñoz is no mere chef — he is God, and excess is the essence of his universe. Every bite, every sound, and every color is a divine declaration of his vision, all converging into an adrenaline-fueled dining experience. StreetXO operates less like a restaurant and more like a theme park. If you’re up for the full high-octane ride, buckle up for an intense feast for the senses. But if you come purely for gastronomy, you’ll need to accept the terms of entry. For those willing to embrace the chaos, the reward is extraordinary food.

Best meal of our Spain trip. Starting with the gigantic bowl of cocktail called Diverxo Liquido Madrizzzz 100% ( gin, ginger, lime, violet caramel nectar) to the dishes that followed… the experience was sublime. We had the Dumpling pekinese, Lasagna Koreana and Chili crab de concha blanda. Of this the chili crab was the stellar winner. All the dishes delighted with punchy flavours and playful presentation. Rounded off with the Brioche Pedroche. Again they were ultra delicious. The sheep’s milk ice cream with oolong tea had a bitter aftertaste that was jarring but not too unpleasant. The servers were warm and helpful. Would highly recommend this place to anyone tired of the same old tapas elsewhere.

All three of us that ate at the restaurant last night got sick from the food. Two of us have very bad food poisoning and one of us has very bad stomach pains. First impression was great - The vibe, the drinks were creative as well as the food (different that other restaurants). Service was alright. The day after has been miserable. Adding photos to this review to show that we we were there! Presentation was great but the day after, very very bad food poisoning! We do not recommend.

There’s a no reservation policy, meaning you can either walk in or have to wait a bit, we could just walk in without any waiting ( 28/08 @13h00) and had a seat indoors. It’s kind of loud experience, but in a signature way, kitchen chaos, music pounding, a style on its own. There’s an extensive & creative cocktailmenu, all served in a unique way. The food is a sharing menu where you pick between 4 & 6 dishes ( or less or more), they are prepared in front of you and brought when ready. I can highly recommend the croquettes, it’s a flavour-bomb like you haven’t experienced much before. Very cool concept and a unique way to enjoy dishes by a 3 starred Michelin chef 🧑‍🍳, without having to spend hundreds of euros. Service & explanations are mainly in Spanish though.

Went in for lunch and there was no line, which was great - I’ve heard dinner time gets pretty busy and they don’t take reservations, so that was a plus. The restaurant’s inside a mall, which I thought might kill the vibe, but it’s actually fun and lively. The décor and loud music really give it energy (by the end of the meal I felt it was slightly too much, but that’s just me in my 30s 😅). Of cocktails, we tried the Laia Pitaya and Ceviche Sour, and both were pretty underwhelming for the price. The food overall was heavy, fried, and oily, leaving me feeling more stuffed than satisfied. The combos are creative but didn’t really deliver a “wow” moment - the croquetas were the highlight, which says a lot (have you ever had a bad croquet? exactly). If prices were about half, I’d be more forgiving, but at this level it feels more about presentation than flavor. Fun for a one-time visit, but unfortunately nothing that makes me want to go back.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had! We had all the most popular dishes - the pork belly, the dumplings, the won tons - yum. It feels like a night club. It’s super fun and hip.
