The Best Restaurants In Universal Orlando - Orlando - The Infatuation

"©2021 Universal Orlando. All Rights Reserved Strong Water Tavern is a Latin-Caribbean spot that could hold its own anywhere in Orlando, except it just so happens to be right in the lobby of the Sapphire Falls Resort. They have a huge selection of rums, as well as rainbow ceviche, ropa vieja, and curried goat. Even if you’re not staying at the resort, it’s worth taking the quick boat ride from City Walk to grab a meal, or at the very least a mai tai." - jacqueline dole

The 24 Best Things to Eat at Universal Orlando Resort | Eater

"An impeccable restaurant that could stand on its own as one of Orlando’s finest, Strong Water Tavern incorporates local vendors and seasonal produce not often seen at theme park hotels. I was hesitate visiting here because of the few bad reviews. I am so glad we went! The food was absolutely delicious. I suggest ordering a couple different options - you won’t be disappointed! We ordered a lot and loved it all. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t enjoy. Try the ham & cheese roll up and the jerk chicken with coconut rice! Amazing. The server was very friendly and great! Everything came out fast. Wasn’t very busy. Highly recommend! We will be going back.

Whenever I come to Universal I always stop in at Strong Water. They have some of the best food options on property. I just beg you to never get rid of the pork belly tacos and bring back the sliced ahi tuna dish with the melons and plaintain chips. That was my absolute favorite! The new tuna tartar is okay but bring back the old one, it was so good! The ambiance is a lot of fun. It's a very nice bar and they do have live music on the weekends. It's a full service bar but they're known for their rum forward drinks. The service is always great here. I've never had any issues. Christian is one of my favorite bartenders. He makes me the best drinks just knowing the spirits I like. He's very attentive, funny, and makes great recommendations. Highly recommend this spot!

Google
This place was amazing! The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food and drinks were delicious! I had the Rum Revivals. It’s a popular choice and I see why. We enjoyed the grilled octopus, tequenos, jerk chicken, and empanadas. The treats leches cake was huge and could easily feed four people. Highly recommend you making a reservation here. There is a small kids menu as well.

Google
We were in Florida for several days and I ended up here every day trying something for dinner. There were so many people that made our experience amazing but the person that made the experience extra special was Sanchez. Fantastic recommendations and the drink that he recommended was amazing. (Just ask for the Sanchez) Wonderful food (Diana at the ceviche bar) and atmosphere with the deck (even with the heat) was amazing. I will definitely be returning.

The open seating area was scenic. Could see the universal resort area, the canal and the man-made waterfall from the top. That was a beautiful experience. Coming to the food, the vegetarian options were too less. But, the options available there tasted good, especially their vegetable hot pot and Curry veggies were delicious among the vegetarian food. In the non veg options, we loved Chicken tenders with steak fries, Goat Curry were top notch. Jerk Chicken was below our expectations as we find it to be just the grilled chicken. In the desserts, Mexican Chocolate Cake was good, and Tres Leches was passable. We had to wait for more than an hour to get our orders on the table. But, what a service! The server was pretty friendly and attentive to the order. We couldn't find the non alcohol drinks. Upon request, he got us Virgin Mojitos and they were great. Overall, one happening experience.

Strong Water Tavern: A Caribbean Delight at Lowe's Sapphire Falls Resort Strong Water Tavern at Lowe's Sapphire Falls Resort offers a delightful escape with its unique Caribbean-inspired menu and vibrant atmosphere. During my recent visit, I opted for the Short Rib Huarache, and it was a fantastic choice. The flavors were rich and authentic, with tender short rib perfectly complemented by the tangy pickled onions. It was a truly satisfying and memorable dish. Beyond the delicious food, the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Google
All around perfect experience. From the service to the food itself, it was fantastic! The menu is tapas style, so I recommend getting at least 2 plates per person. There are tons of options and it spans from different styles of food — Puerto Rico, Cuban, etc. — which is really cool if you’re into trying new things! I recommend the goat dish if you like lamb and similar meats.

Google
This is probably one of my favorite hotel restaurants. The drinks were great and so was the food. Skip the beer and wine here, have one of their rum cocktails. We actually went here twice during our stay. Would probably say to stay away from the kids cheese quesadia. The other kids items were good. The other restaurant downstairs in this hotel was disappointing.

Yelp
Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday and it wasn't super busy, so we were seated immediately. The restaurant is quite spacious with large windows. The tables are nice and spaced out. The menu is separated into different sections (ceviche, Cuban, Jamaican, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Bahamas, USVI, and Colombian). Everything was sort of tapas style and shareable, so we tried to get a variety of dishes For Cuba, we got the arroz con pollo For Jamaican, griot For Mexican, pork belly tacos USVI, chicken tenders Puerto Rico, chicken skewers Colombia, empanadas Everything was delicious and super sharable. The sauces were so flavorful and everything was fresh. Would come back again to try other dishes.

Yelp
Nice nice! Tapas? What I got a couple of dishes and ofcourse a rum cocktail - Caribbean Ceviche - this was overall very good, I like the bottom layer of mofongo that was warm. Complimented the ceviche. I was surprised that the mofongo had meat in it which was not pointed out on the menu - Curry Goat - quite an interesting take on the jamaican curry goat I know. Very flavorful and meat falls off the bone. But the meat quality was not as fresh as I expected. The rice in this was also quite interesting, lots of coconut and more sweet... - Jackfruit Ropa Vieja - This was okay. I expected the jackfruit to be more stringy but less jackfruit flavor. There was a bit more jackfruit sour - Jerk Chicken - this was also great. Surprised that it also came with rice. Could lose the rice since it was tapas... maybe add plantain strips. - Last typhoon Rum Cocktail - I love that they use the fruit as sweetener which I could taste, but the amount of alcohol was almost not tasted. Environment Located in the Loewe's hotel, this could be fancy evening dining experience but there was also a lot of more casual, maybe cause of the hotel and also the resort being near. The seating were more on the lounge experience side. Niceness of the staff Very very nice waitress. Made sure I had everything I needed. Explained the concept, I was sold on the cocktail and definitely appreciated it Dollar It was definitely on the more expensive side. The drink was 15$. The goat was 25$ and all other "tapas" were at least 13-15$ per. Can add up pretty quickly Yes Very good environment but I am not sure...Would give them another chance if the opportunity arises but I don't see anything exciting that I would want to return

Yelp
While staying at Loews Sapphire Resort I had the pleasure of spending a couple of evenings at Strong Tavern. They serve tapas style food from South America and the Caribbean. The short ribs were the best I had there but all the food I tried was good. The service was good as well. All the servers were attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere. I was there for a conference Abe the place was packed w professionals and families. This was a good venue and I will come back.

Yelp
Located in the Sapphire Falls Hotel at Universal. If you're not staying at that hotel, the restaurant will comp your parking ticket in the self-park garage if you spend at least $45. Make sure to remember to ask for that, or your parking will run 35-45 bucks for a couple of hours! Emphasis seems to be on the bar (hence the name, I suppose), but the food is very good, mostly Caribbean and Jamaican influences. Caribbean ceviche was a good appetizer. We both had the curried goat -- a dish you don't find on too many American menus -- and it was very tasty. If spicy food is not your thing, tell them to go easy on the habanero chiles in the sauce. Service was prompt and cordial.

Yelp
I am giving this restaurant 2 stars bc of the drinks only or it would be a 0. The tables are so small that if you have kids you couldn't even fit meals on. They were not the most accommodating when asking for a bigger table or booth. The food was horrible- every single thing that came out was cold or luke warm. The octopus was so fishy you could smell it across the restaurant. There honestly wasn't a dish that was extremely good everything was very spicy or again COLD. We spent 200 bucks on a meal I would say wasn't worth it at all. We all left with stomach aches. The meal took us 2 hours to eat with kids it was impossible. We had rice that we asked to warm up bc it was cold and it took 25 mins to come out. The food took over an hour and half. The only good thing about this place is the cocktails. Skip the meal and come for the drinks.

Yelp
I come to Orlando a couple times a year for work, and usually stay at the Aventura. However, this restaurant is always good enough to walk over to. The best thing on the menu, by far, is the Curry Goat. It's savory, filling, and just spicy enough to want to quench your thirst with some rum. As for drinks, they always have a local beer option on tap, and I also really like the milk punch. Prices are a bit high, but that's resort life!

Yelp
This restaurant and bar are located in the Sapphire Falls Hotel. The restaurant serves Latin, Caribbean tapas with a variety of options from Civeche to Empanadas. It has a warm, well decorated interior with windows facing the water. They offer live music on most nights. It's a nice touch to have some Latin jazz. The bar specializes in rum but has a full bar to your liking. We ordered 5 different tapas from tuna to short ribs. Everything was delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly with Angel our waiter. We loved everything we tasted and it was not greasy but very flavorful.

Yelp
Tapas were wonderful we had 4 different kinds chicken tenders, beef empanadas, chicken skewers and arepas then the Best Creme Brûlée I have ever tasted!

Yelp
We love staying at my family's favorite hotel the Sapphire Falls and every time we go to the Tavern. Great selection of drinks and rum. The menu is pretty good, too. Selection is great. Our server Maggie is super nice and very knowledgeable. She helped us with the sampler and the different drinks we ordered. So if you are staying at the Sapphire Falls, grab a chair on the deck or one of the big comfy seats and have some fun with your friends and family.

Yelp
I haven't made a review in a really long time but I had to make one now. This place sucks big time, they forgot my order didn't even acknowledge and my wife's drink took 30 minutes and they made some dumb excuse saying they ran out of printer pape. Our servers name rhymes with snake first letter B Avoid, so many other choices

Yelp
As locals, my husband and I decided to spend the day exploring the different Universal Orlando hotels. Each one conveniently has a water taxi that takes you to CityWalk where you can hop on the different connecting boats to each resort... definitely makes for a fun date day! We decided to park at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort which is where we started and ended our journey. Strong Water Tavern is located inside the resort, just off the main lobby. I agree that this is one of the best dining options on the entire Universal property (just look at the reviews of other restaurants... yikes). We ended our day just in time for sunset and requested to sit on their outdoor patio overlooking the water. They have comfortable lounge seating as well as a few tables and and great view. At first we were only planning on having drinks (they are known for their extensive rum selection), but we decided to order a few tapas and dessert which ended up being our dinner. The rum old fashioned is excellent. We also ordered the garlic shrimp (camarones al ajillo) in a white wine sauce which was super tasty. Get some extra bread for dipping because you don't want that sauce to go to waste. We also ordered the short rib huarache which was very large and filling (definitely shareable). While it was loaded up with ingredients, I expected the short rib to have a bit more flavor. For the $25 price, it was just ok. The tapas in general are pretty pricey, but that's to be expected in the theme park realm. Now the real star of the show was the dessert! We had the banana bread pudding (made in-house) served with rum raisin ice cream. Omg, my husband & I both agreed that this was probably one of the best bread puddings we've ever had. It was a very generous portion and super moist all the way through. The ice cream on top paired perfectly. I would come back just for dessert alone! They also validated our parking for dining in which was a pleasant way to end our adventure.

Yelp
Hidden inside a hotel, this intimate and classy tapas-style restaurant is the perfect spot for date night after a day at universal. First, pork belly tacos were phenomenal. 2 massive tacos in an order, pork belly melted in my mouth. Next we got this flatbread special they were offering that night (so not sure it's still available). It was chorizo, chihuahua cheese, pesto on roti and I can confidently say it's one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. They should consider making it a permanent item on their menu. Lastly, we shared the griot -- pork and sweet plantains hit the spot. Highly recommend this spot!!!

Yelp
Discovering this hidden gem on Universal property was a delightful surprise! A quick ferry ride from CityWalk transports you to Sapphire Falls resort, where a menu brimming with delectable concoctions and mouthwatering small plates awaits. Whether you're looking for refreshing drinks or flavorful bites, this tiki bar/restaurant is the perfect retreat during your Universal Orlando adventure. Cheers to a fantastic find! So far, I've tried the Mai Tai and Tavern Grog, which were both very good. For food I had the Fried Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and the Beef Sliders. I'm excited to return to try more delicious cocktails and small bites!

Yelp
They did it again. Great experience. This is a place is very consistent. Food always good!. Ambience always warm, good music and great audience.... But the service is what makes this place a memorable place to keep going and going.. our bartender Christian always make us come back.. MonCif our Moroccan friend treat us with a great courtesy ..... Angel and Miguel... all of them are assets for the place.. !! Hope to see all of you soon...

Yelp
What a gem! My friend and I were checking out different resorts and when we stumbled upon Strong Water and looked at the menu we were sold and decided to come back later for dinner. Their rum and Caribbean theme has such a great feel to it and then tapas menu has a variety of items themed from a handful of different countries. The flavors were delicious and the drink menu has a wide selection of rums and rum drinks (and some for those who don't love rum as well). Strong Water also boasts large windows with some great views of the resort area and even glimpses of Universal Studios rides. I could have hung out, and grazed my way through the menu all night! Will definitely check it out if I'm back at Universal Studios in the future.

Yelp
I made a reservation for four on the terrace and we were sat inside on a table that was clearly meant for three. The hostess had to pull another chair over from elsewhere. This is a tapas place and my husband was immediately concerned how we're going to fit multiple plates on the table. There were larger tables available and none of them were ever occupied the entire time we were there. Although they did have "reserved" plaques on them so we didn't ask to move. The terrace appeared full which I expected it to be popular, which is why I selected a time that had the terrace available. The drinks were strong but took awhile. The food was just okay. We ordered 7 or 8 plates and had to stack our food up to make it fit on the table. It was uncomfortable but the server was quick to remove a finished plate. The sliders were the least favorite of the items. I think the best was the taquenos and the shrimp with Cuban bread. We wouldn't eat here again because it was pricey, uncomfortable, the food was just mediocre and they don't honor their own reservation system.

Yelp
This is a great place to get drinks and tapas style food within the Loews Sapphire Falls hotel. Unfortunately since I have a severe latex allergy the staff were unsure if in their meal prep if they use latex gloves but they accommodated and the chef from Amatista downstairs made me an entree. I would have loved to try their octopus dish which my husband said was delicious. The inside is very nicely decorated and they have a full service bar, many tables and a patio.

Matt L.

Yelp
Service here was a big problem. We sat at the table for 30 minutes before I asked someone if we had a waiter. It took another 10 until someone actually came. Once we had a waiter the food was very good and drinks were good too. I'd love to go back and try other drinks and probably would have ordered a second if I had been given a chance to. The rainbow ceviche was my favorite dish, and I'd love to get that again. Hopefully the service issues were abnormal.
google avatar

PJ S.

Yelp
This was a delicious meal! Service was friendly. Highlights were the goat curry, octopus, rainbow ceviche. There is a large TV which doesn't quite mesh with the more business casual ambiance and the tables were very small, but the view is beautiful.

Rob U.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Ate there twice during our 3 night stay. Cocktails were wonderful and the desserts were some of the best I've ever had. Service was...average but food made up for it.

Yelp
This place is great for small bites and drinks. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's looking for a hardy meal. Service was excellent when I visited during thanksgiving weekend.
google avatar

Roly P.

Yelp
We had no expectations and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and we were seated right away. Nuri our waitress was forthcoming with her favorites and experiences. The ceviche was a 9 very good and only order it if you like spice. The goat curry was an 8 just cause it lacked salt, perfectly cooked as texture, the sliders were also very good, we finished with the bread pudding which was very good.
google avatar

Edson D.

Yelp
A gem at the Loews Sapphire Falls hotel. Sports friendly as the big screen was playing Copa America soccer match. Delicious tapas style menu. Get your order in early cause the kitchen can get a little backed up.
google avatar

Denise V.

Yelp
Our server Angel was amazing! He recommend some great tapas and all were amazing. My bf started off with the sapphire sour drink (blue) and I got a mai tai both super good! We got the chicken tenders, rojo vieja (with yellow rice), and the short rib huarache. All of it was so good! We are staying in the hotel so we decided to get the tres leches to go and finish off with The Royal Reserve chocolate martini. Amazing flavor of chocolate espresso and a hint of rum. The ambiance was nice and relaxing and not too loud. Angel made our first visit just perfect here and also answered any and all of our questions. I would definitely come Back and request Angel as well.

Yelp
We have been here so many times because it's that good. It's big, clean and beautiful with lots of spacial seatings along with patio seatings and big outdoor fire pit. Everything on the menu has been a hit, literally. The food comes out picture perfect every-time and the cocktails are always crafty. The service is wonderful and everyone is attentive, not just your own server. It's a Tapas, so the plates aren't that big but it's flavorful, presentable and extremely delicious. Our favorite is always the Curry Goat and Octopus. Restaurant is located in the Loews Sapphire Resort. The price is high but you pay for what you get. Superior ambiance, fine food and exceptional service.

Andria O.

Yelp
I enjoyed the ambience, but the food was really underwhelming. We read reviews saying the chicken tenders were supposed to be good, and they looked different, so we decided to try them, but they were very basic. Not much seasoning and just buffalo sauce to dip them in. We got the coconut rice also because people raved about it and it was fine. We ordered the pork belly tacos. They were decent, but not amazing. And we also ordered the tequeños which were at least interesting. Nothing was terrible but everything was just incredibly mid. I'm perplexed as to why the reviews are so high, but maybe we were expecting too much out of a theme park hotel restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! Not only is it a small plate (Tapas) experience, but the menu is divided into regions--Little Havana, Jamaica & The Bahamas, Mexico, U.S.V.I., Puerto Rico, and Colombia. This offers a wide variety of samplings which is something I personally have never seen at a small plate place before. The wait staff was very helpful with recommendations and our tables ended up having the AGUA CHILE - Cape Canaveral shrimp, salsa verde, avocado, cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes, PORK BELLY TACOS - Mole poblano, cilantro, tomatoes, pickled onions, radishes, serrano peppers, chihuahua cheese, chipotle mayo, CAMARONES AL AJILLO - Shrimp, garlic, white wine, cilantro, tomatoes, lime juice, CURRY GOAT - Garlic, onion, Scotch bonnet, curry, potatoes, mango slaw and thyme. With so much variety it is impossible to say which was my favorite! For "dessert" I had a flight of French rum which was the perfect end to this meal. On top of the food coming here in December and having cool weather, there was a wonderful fire pit outside to hang at and enjoy the evening for a bit before taking a boat back to the other hotel where I was staying. The only thing I wish was different was having a larger beer selection. This is a minor point, however, taking everything else into consideration.

Road T.

Yelp
Food was very good. Our server Angel was very nice and respectful and explained us the menu and food items. The foot itself was delicious. The tres leches cake is huge though

Yelp
My husband and I are big rum fans so we knew that for our 1 yr wedding anniversary that we wanted to go to Strongwater Tavern. This place did NOT disappoint! Starting off with the service, Maggie was impeccable! She walked us through her favorite drinks and dishes and even brought us a glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. She honestly made the night amazing. But that's not to say the food was lacking in any regard. Every dish we had was delicious. Our favorites were the octopus and the Caribbean ceviche! Those are must haves. The Camarones al Ajillo was so good, you will want to drink the sauce right of the dish. Our daiquiris were fantastic, the right amount of sweet and strong. Honestly, the only thing we would change is the big tv playing sports. It just takes away from the environment. Highly recommend getting over to Strongwater Tavern!
google avatar

Lillian L.

Yelp
For my visit, a 3.8/5 that could have been a 5/5 if I had ordered a different dish. Nestled within the Sapphire Falls' lobby, Strong Water Tavern offers good drinks, the potential for very delicious food, and ridiculous portions for dessert. It feels as upscale as you would expect for a $$ restaurant within a theme park resort property. The waiter introduced the establishment as serving tapas but I felt most of the dishes were plenty big enough as stand alone entrees. My party of two ordered - coquito cocktail (seasonal cocktail, tastes like a better spiced eggnog) - Pork Belly Tacos (phenomenal) - lamb ribs with dori djon djon (skip this. Way too much fat and only about 25% was enjoyable) - banana bread pudding with rum raisin ice cream (HUGE and delicious. Could easily serve 3-4 people)
google avatar

Dara B.

Yelp
Strong Water has a very nice outdoor terrace. That is where we sat for dinner. There were round tables as well as lounges. Inside has tons of space and tables, large screen TVs and seating area at the bar. Great spot for watching sports. Food wise, everything was good especially the coconut rice. I highly recommend ordering it as a side. We had to wait about 1/2 hr for a table. In the meantime, I ordered a drink (mojito) at the bar and we sat in the lounge area just outside the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The flavor of the restaurant is Caribbean but the menu is broken into Ceviche, Cuban, Mexican, Jamaican/Bahamas, Columbian, Puerto Rican and US Virgin Islands. They also specialize in rum, various types of rum from different locations. The best part is the dessert menu. I ordered the Banana Bread Pudding. It was topped with rum raisin ice cream and a shot or two of rum!! Yum yum!! Of course I took a picture!
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
The tavern located on the fourth floor of the Sapphire Falls Resort a Universal is a great little spot for dinner. it has a fabulous view, overlooking the parks and boat dock. The menu is a mixture of flavors from the Caribbean to Spanish tapas. it was over priced for the plate size however, we did not leave hungry or disappointed in the flavors. The presentation of food was also beautiful. However, the service did take some time due to they are very crowded on the weekends. our server was very kind to us and our dog (they are dog friendly), and we were able to sit outside on the patio with our dog. our favorite dish was the ham and cheese croissant appetizer, as well as the green curry. do not skip the churro ice cream bowl at the end of the night. It was simply delicious!!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, good service, interesting/different cocktails. The octopus was INSANELY GOOD! Interesting menu, will definitely come back again!

Yelp
4.5 Our first night we ate at strong water tavern for the first time! I heard the Mai Thai was great and strong and both are correct! We all know by now I like a strong drink! The food was great! We got all three items under little Havana: Arroz con pollo(I feel this was my fav dish but also really loved the ropa vieja!) Ropa vieja (got side of rice because it just comes with the meat no rice! Both were yummy!) Camarones al ajillo (wish there was more of a garlic flavor than butter/wine but still very good!) It was our anniversary so we got the tres leche ! The bf loved it! I'm not a huge fan of tres leche but it was still good! Very happy with our first visit!

Yelp
Excellent excellent excellent! Everything was delicious and I wish I had another stomach so I could eat more. Our server, Todd was absolutely delightful and extremely knowledgeable with culinary insight. Any questions I had he was able to answer with so much knowledge. Absolutely eat here- I will!
google avatar

Carlos H.

Yelp
Legitimately good tapas and strong cocktails that are well made for rum lovers. It's pricey but at least everything is delicious and you could do much worse at a hotel or resort. Staff is decently friendly. Recommend! They also have plenty of TVs for sports fans.

Zac B.

Yelp
Drinks are great! Wasn't sure if I'd be into the fireball in the rum old fashioned, but it's subtle. The wife grabbed the Mai tai and it was really good. Not a sweet drink. Very much lime forward. Limited menu due to the hurricane, so we stuck with the drinks and some sliders. Long wait, but staff was friendly.
google avatar

Larissa B.

Yelp
The restaurant was gorgeous but the plate sizes were small and could've been better. Our waiter was amazing though and gave us solid recommendations. If you eat here *GET VALET* it's about $20 to valet but it's $50 to park.
google avatar

Chad J.

Yelp
This place has top notch food and drinks. We ordered two drinks and two food items. The rum old fashioned was awesome. Just go here and enjoy.

Yelp
Went on vacay to Orlando Florida and we were looking for some grub! Stumbled upon the Strong Water Tavern located in the Sapphire Falls Loews hotel. This place is tapas/small plate style and 4-5 dishes is perfect for 2. We started with cocktails and I had the blackberry daiquiri shaken, not frozen and the last typhoon! Delish cocktails taste like vacation! To eat: Ceviche (don't remember the name but it has shrimp, fish, scallops!) super fresh, light, and delish! Angus beef sliders! Juicy little things and love the sauce on the plate! Chicken tenders, big crunchy and juicy! The potatoes are big too and crisp, not soggy steak fries. Pork belly tacos! My fav! Juicy pork, spicy slaw, every bite dances on your taste buds! Dessert we got the tres leches cake. This is like a mini cake. The slice is gigantic but so freaking good. Save room for this! All entrees are pictured except the ropa vieja. Lacked a little flavor and was a very small portion. However, everything else was great so I won't let that dish take away from the 5 stars this place deserves.

Yelp
I could have stayed at this tavern all night! Delicious tapas, great service, comfortable chairs, and smooth entertainment. The menu looked good and it was time to try this place out after it opened at 4pm. I was not disappointed! The food was prepared fresh with quality, flavorful ingredients. I couldn't get enough! The server was excellent, with great recommendations and always made sure my water glass was full. Yes, I only drank water at a restaurant with as much rum as anyone would want or need! If you want to try some great drinks, I'm positive you can't go wrong with Strong Water Tavern. Lastly, because it was a Saturday night, Strong Water had some live entertainment. A singer with her accompanist on a keyboard was so great! The whole place knew the songs and they added to the relaxing vibe of Strong Water. This was one the highlights from my trip to Orlando and I cannot wait to go back again!

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere to eat after a long day at Universal. As a hotel guest, we were hesitant to eat here as hotel food sometimes isn't worth the price point... if we're being honest. Have to say this place really took us for a surprise. They have a decent sized bite/tapas menu. Must try recommendation: Lamb papa rellena, arroz con pollo, vegan breadfruit tostones, camarones al ajillo, jerk chicken, guava & cheese pastellitos.

Yelp
I always like to stay at Loews Sapphire bc of this tavern. They have great cocktails that are rum based but they also have a full bar. The food is tapas style so you can try a lot of small plates. We came here for dinner on a Friday night and we got a table. They do have a guitarist who sits in the front so don't sit at a table near the window unless you want to be screaming to talk. Our table tried almost 1 of everything and it was delicious. I will say the pork belly tacos and the charcuterie board were outstanding. We were a little disappointed in the dessert. My tres leches was a little try and my friend got the flan which was hard. Seemed like the desserts were kept in too cold of a fridge. I highly recommend trying this spot out if you're in the area or staying at Loews Sapphire.

Yelp
We ended up eating outside on the patio which was very nice. Good view. The food is decent and the drinks are well made and delicious. Staff was helpful and the facilities are clean.

Yelp
I was visiting as part of an event and the food each time we ate here, which was at least 3x during the stay, was tasty but always cold and late in arrival. The bar was a complete disappointment and likely taking advantage of conference customers and unsuspecting patrons. The service at the bar was abrupt and short to be kind, and rude to be honest. At one point, upon approaching to order a round I was told a half glass was all they had left of the wine I asked for, as he "splashed" it into a glass turning the bottle upside down and splattering, I said, "well, I don't want it then", he simply poured it out and didn't say a word. I didn't buy another drink at the bar the rest of the stay. Looking at the receipts, we'd ALL BEEN CHARGED A SERVICE FEE ON TOP OF TIPPING. Regardless of the order size, and I have others with one drink to three, every ticket had a service charge like it was room service. This is absolutely shady and taking advantage of customers. Where have you gone that charges an automatic service fee unless you have more than 6-8 people at a table? How about a walk up order at the bar? No reputable establishment does this to a customer. I found out at the airport while talking to colleagues and sharing experiences, it happened to everyone. Every ticket was upcharged 17% in addition to the tip. You can be assured we'll add this restaurant to the do not visit list for future events, IF we choose this venue again.

Yelp
Loved this place for their cute little eats inside the hotel we were staying at. A mix of Colombian and Cuban dishes. Great bar drinks with rum. Appetizer servings but very reasonably priced. Great variety of flavors. The bar overlooks the trees and the water into the universal park. We opted to sit outside. It was a variety of nice, super windy, then rainy! Our server was very sweet.

Yelp
I Love The Menu Look. I Knew This Was Carribean Just By The Look. Absolutely Stunning! It's Like Loft And Pirate Combined. Great Ambiance. But In A Very Cold Hotel Which For Me Is One Star Less. But I'm Sure It's Even Gonna Be 6 Stars. But It Ended Up Very Good But Not Chart Breaking. Super Crispy And Soft Fries. The Curry Lamb Is Very Good. The Jerk Chicken Is Very Sweet And Spicy And Smokey. The Tequeños Are Overcomplicated In An Extremely Good Way. The Pork Pupusas, different than the traditional, but exceptional! The Tres Leches Is Very Nice. BUT THE BANANA PUDDING!!! The Pudding Has Ice Cream And The Cake Itself Has A Strong Almost Like Rum, Sweet And Flavorful Like Bananas, And Mind Blowing. And Service Was Very Calm. But Amazing Atmosphere With The Musicians In The Back. Small Place But Big Plates!

Yelp
The Good: We were able to sit on the back terrace and it is great! You get a nice view of the beautiful grounds as well as glimpses of Islands of Adventures from a distance. It's a great way to end your day. We ordered two cocktails and the Rum Revival was really tasty. The Bad: Our dining experience was poor. Service was extremely slow and our waiter was fairly dismissal about it. He literally came to our table and said one time, "Sorry that the kitchen is slow but there's really nothing that can be done about it. At least whenever your food gets here it'll be fresh!" Of course I can understand when a kitchen gets behind, but there comes a point where things get way over the line with a slow kitchen and we were definitely past that point. We ended up having to leave before the remaining food arrived. When I approached our server and told him we would just leave because the food was taking too long, he went to the back for a few minutes -- came back out then literally said, "I spoke with my manager and were able to not charge you for those items that didn't arrive." Ha! Of course! You never brought it out -- Of course you're not going to charge us... The food that did arrive was pretty poor as well. I had the worst ceviche I've ever had in my life (Agua Ceviche). Zero flavor. It tasted like nothing. We also ordered the Camerones al Ajillo. It was also tasteless. The jerk chicken was good - but the problem with these tapas restaurants is that the portion sizes are just so small. Overall thoughts: I'm thinking something must have just been way off with our experience this particular night compared to other reviews. Clearly most people love this place. We just weren't able to enjoy it like we thought we would when we first sat down.
